Transport with CTS+ : Naming convention

Hi SDNers,
I need your suggestion.
This is wrt CTS+.
My doubt is:
I need to transport changes between the Dev, QA & Production system.
I have a repository in Development system: Repo_Dev
Now I want to create a repository in Quality / Production system, similar to Repo_Dev , but with different Repository names as Repo_QS /  Repo_Prod respectively.  My doubt is, will I be able to create the repositories in the Quality or Production systems with the name I want.... or is it because I am using CTS.. it will create a repository with the same name i.e Repo_Dev.
With reference to the SAP document "Setup und Use the MDM Change Transport with CTS+ Transport Management Environment", my understading is to
1. Create a repository in QS / Production side.
2. Using the option "Create Transport Reference" , I will get a reference file of Repo_Dev.
3. Then Import the reference file in the Repo_QS / Repo_Prod will result in synchronisation between all 3 (Repo_Dev, Repo_QS, Repo_Prod ) repositories.
This way I can have the same Data modelling etc in all the 3 repositories, with the naming convention as required.
If anyone has worked on it... please confirm it.
Thanks & Regards,
Priti Rani Patnaik

Hi Priti,
For transport with CTS+ you need to follow the steps which you have mentioned. You need to create a repository and then import the ref. in this repository. By doing so you are only importing the tables and fields present in your Dev repository. The sync between all three is only related to data modelling and it will not effect the name of reposiotry as you have already created a repository and I guess renaming of repository is not possible.
I hope I am able to help you.
Thanks & Regards

  • AppleScript To Save Messages As PDFs With Specific Naming Convention

I am looking for an Applescript that:
1: Prompts and allows the user to select one or more Apple Mail email messages from within Mail (10.4, 10.5, 10.6).
2: Prompts and allows the user to select a save-to folder.
3: For each message, saves it as a PDF file in the save-to folder, using the following naming convention for the PDF file:
"YYYY-MM-DD HH.MM.SS Email From FIRSTNAME LASTNAME - SUBJECT",
"YYYY-MM-DD HH.MM.SS Email To FIRSTNAME LASTNAME - SUBJECT",
where in the email date-sent stamp (if I am the sender) or date-received stamp (if I am the recipient):
    YYYY = the year
    MM = the two-digit month
    DD = the two-digit day
HH = the two-digit hour (in 24-hour time)
    MM = the two-digit minute
    SS = the two-digit second
FIRSTNAME is the email sender's first name for email that I receive (or is the email recipient's first name for email that I send)
LASTNAME is the email sender's last name for email that I receive (or is the email recipient's first name for email that I send)
SUBJECT = the email's subject line
For example: 2010-04-10 16.32.48 Email From Kris Ryan - Status Of Payroll Updates.pdf
For example: 2010-04-10 16.33.55 Email To Sue Anderson - RE Status Of Payroll Updates.pdf (Colon omitted after "RE".)
4: For each attachment to the message, saves it as a PDF file in the same directory using the naming convention:
    "YYYY-MM-DD HH.MM.SS Email From FIRSTNAME LASTNAME Z Attachment - NUMBER - FILENAME",
    where:
YYYY-MM-DD HH.MM.SS Email From FIRSTNAME LASTNAME = as above
NUMBER = an integer representing the attachment number (1, 2, ...) sorted according to filename alphabetical order
FILENAME = the name of the file attached to the email, including its extension (.docx, .xlsx, etc.)
The letter "Z" sorts the attachment PDFs after its respective parent email in the directory.
For example: 2010-04-10 16.32.48 Email From Kris Ryan Z Attachment - 1 - List Of Suggestions To Moore.doc.pdf
    For example: 2010-04-10 16.32.48 Email From Kris Ryan Z Attachment - 2 - Proposed Salary Adjustments.xls.pdf
    For example: 2010-04-10 16.32.48 Email From Kris Ryan Z Attachment - 3 - Salary History.pps.pdf
Note: The email attachment may consist of a PDF or MS Office file (Word, Excel, Power Point); however, a smart implementation will be able to handle any attachment kind. If the attachment is a PDF file, then save it "as is" using the stipulated naming convention, without passing it through Distiller.
    Thank you.

Well, that's quite a spec sheet.
Here's a start, you can easily edit the script to get what you need:

    font-size: 10px;
    font-weight: normal;

  • Outbound Feeds with variable naming convention.

    All,
We have a openhubs that we generate every month.
Is there a way we can prefix with month & year, so the file name would look like, Month_Year_<file_name>.
So when I execute the process chain, for the same outbound file "salesvolume.csv"
for the month Jan 08, the file name is "jan08salesvolume.csv"
for the month Feb 08, the file name is "feb08salesvolume.csv"
so the file name has a variable part & a fixed path.
Variable path is based ont month-year.
    Thanks
    kiran

In the usage I've seen (C++), m is for "member". I'm pretty sure it's used in MFC, and it may come from the more general "Hungarian Notation" that also uses things like s for string, p for pointer (relevant in C/C++ but not Java), etc.
I think this convention is pretty unusual in Java (I've never seen it), but I imagine there are a number of people, especially C++ programmers, who do use it.

  • Rename Table Name with proper naming convention

    Hi,
I have many tables in DB & want to create a copy of those in another DB, but with proper name
Means If My table is fgh_sub_record_file then It should rename like Fgh_Sub_Record_File in dynamic way.
    Pls Help.

I am not sure of the reason for your intention.
But, An easy method would be the below:
    1. Get all the tables from DB1 to DB2(I assume you do this by backup/restore or export wizard)
    2. Create the below function in DB2.
    --Create the below function
    Create Function dbo.CapitalizeEachword ( @MyString varchar(max))
    Returns nvarchar(Max)
    As
    Begin
    Declare @XML xml
    Set @MyString = Replace(@MyString,'_',' ')
    Set @XML =CAST( '<root><rows><row>' + REPLACE(@MyString,' ','</row></rows><rows><row>')
    + '</row></rows></root>' As XML)
    Return
    REPLACE((
    Stuff (
    (Select ' ' + Col
    From
    Select Stuff(COL, 1,1, UPPER(Left(col,1))) As Col
    From
    Select X.p.value('row[1]','nvarchar(200)') As col
    From @XML.nodes('/root/rows') As X(p)
    ) X
    ) Y
    For XML Path('')), 1, 1, '')
    End
    3. Execute the below and verify the generated script and execute the script once concluded.
--Test script to see your execution script(You may need to get the script and execute once verified)
    select 'exec sp_rename @objname=' + name + ', @newname=' + dbo.CapitalizeEachword(name)
    from sysObjects
    where type = 'U'

  • Variable naming conventions

    Hi all,
I come from a mostly JAVA background. Big emphasis in that arena on encapsulation and modularization of code to help facilitate ease of maintenance and reuse...in theory I sometimes struggle with variable naming conventions within my ABAP code because I'm not all together certain there are any. In C or C++ I might use a derivation of Hungarian notation to name varaibles...and in JAVA I might observe certain object oriented rules regarding varaible naming...I find myself using a combination of those two protocols in my ABAP code. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might name global and lcoal variables within my code?

  • Question about CEP Naming Conventions and or Standards

    Hello,
CEP is new to the organization that I am working with. I have been asked to draft a few standards around CEP to help promote standardization and proper reuse of CEP artifacts. Can anyone share with me examples of CEP artifacts with a naming convention or their experiences with naming conventions around CEP in general. This is a living standards document for us. We plan on using CEP heavily going forward. Your experiences will help us start off on the right foot.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
Oracle CEP supports reuse of components in several ways. For example, you can design your application as a set of modules that can be deployed independently (different teams can develop each module). Modules can register services, such as an event source or event consumer, and these services can be used by other modules. So, it's possible to plug modules developed by different teams of developers together and reuse them in different applications or environments. A component instance registers itself as a service when its advertise attribute is set to true in the Spring application context that defines a module.
A component implementation can also register a factory as a service that allows instances of the component to be created by other modules. Section 13.1.5 in the CEP Developer Guide describes this. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e14301/adapters.htm#CIHBHEDA
    Hope that helps.

  • Change Existing objects naming conventions in a Query

    Hi all,
I Need to change the Naming Conventions of the Query Objects of a Query at the Infoprovider level. Is there any Routine to change the naming conventions or do i need to do it Manually.

    Hi gopinath,
mine is also a similar case, the problem with the option u gave me is that our implementation is in EDW environment and rework from the scratch is not an option for me. Is it possible to change the query objects naming convention at particular info-provider level, i have about 200 objects created with random naming convention and to be now changed according to a standard naming convention. I need to also consider how the changes effect other queries and reports as well.. So is there any possible way of Custom coding a routine or a program that can solve my purpose.. has any one gone through the same situation?

  • Flatfile conversion with output file has a NAMING CONVENTION

    Dear SAP experts,
I need some advise regarding my scenario.
I am converting a message into flatfile. (customized .csv)
But, the output .csv flatfile must have a naming convention.
    E.g.    Globus_20071020   (Customer name_YearMonthDate)
Can somebody give me ideas/inputs on what will I configure in File Receiver (FCC) in order to have an output file having a naming convention indicated above.
Or do i need additional configurations?
    Please advise.
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi,
You could pass this kind of File name from mapping at runtime or
You could use the variable substitutions to create the fiel neame as per naming convention as adding date .
With reference to Variables youcould set file name as Globus_%payload.<Date>%
Pass the value in date field of payload

  • Custom naming convention with File Adapter

Within my BPEL process, I am using File Adapter and writing out a file. The current naming convention only all some static string with either a sequence (%SEQ%) or some sort of system timestamp. I wonder if it is possible to use some runtime data (data value within the Process Variables) as part of the file name being written out.

Hi, the file/FTP adapters support file metadata such as filename and directory to the BPEL process and exclude the payload. set the UseHeaders parameter to true in the file adapter WSDL.

  • Regarding file naming convention(while publishing a file to FTP)

    Hi,
In one of our usecases, we need to configure the file name based on the client’s requirement.(to place the file in FTP. But the file name should be customized by us.) We referred to the link given below.
    http://www.b2bgurus.com/2008/04/customizing-file-naming-convention-in.html
Can you please briefly explain about where should we setup the 'macro' so that we can change the file name(which will be placed in FTP) as we like.

    Hi,
As you said we had applied the patch(number 7233222).In the Transport parameter, we entered the values for 'filename format' as given in the link,
         http://www.b2bgurus.com/2008/04/customizing-file-naming-convention-in.html.
But we couldn't put the file in FTP.
Our usecase is to send file(with customized name) to FTP.
Before applying the patch, this scenario works fine and we could put the file into FTP. In this case the default file name is '%FROM_PARTY%_%TIMESTAMP%.dat'.
After applying the patch (number 7233222), we got the entry 'filename format' in 'Transport parameter'. There the default value is given as '%FROM_PARTY%_%TIMESTAMP%.dat'. But in this flow(after applying patch) we couldn't put the file in FTP. No error logs were seen in b2b.log file.
In 'b2b_dc_transport.log' file, we were getting the following logs,

  • .tpz files naming convention / export from PI 7.0

    Hi,
When I export the repository or Directory content from PI 7.0 the naming convention PI gives its own naming convention. Starting wit XI3_0 * .tpz
Why does it start with XI3_0*.tpz for we have PI 7.0?
Do we need to change any Visual admin or exchange profile parameter to get the naming convention to PI7_0*.tpz

The import and export functionality of XI 7.0 uses the expression 'XI 3.0' instead of 'XI 7.0' in all transport screens of the Integration Builder. Furthermore the name of XI 7.0 exports will always start with the prefix 'XI_3_0' and not 'XI_7_0'.
    <b>Reason and Prerequisites</b>
The reason for this behaviour is that the transport code and format of XI 7.0 and XI 3.0 is identical.
    <b>Solution</b>
There is no fix for the naming convention, but there is a positive consequence: XI 3.0 export files can be produced by XI 3.0 and XI 7.0 and can be imported into XI 3.0 and XI 7.0.
    Refrence Note
Note 936254 - XI 3.0 Imports and Export in XI 7.0
    Award points if helpful.
    Thanks,

  • Question about Best Practices - Redwood Landscape/Object Naming Conventions

Having reviewed documentation and posts, I find that there is not that much information available in regards to best practices for the Redwood Scheduler in a SAP environment. We are running the free version.
    1) The job scheduling for SAP reference book (SAP Press) recommends multiple Redwood installations and using export/import to move jobs and other redwood objects from say DEV->QAS->PROD. Presentations from the help.sap.com Web Site show the Redwood Scheduler linked to Solution Manager and handling job submissions for DEV-QAS-PROD. Point and Shoot (just be careful where you aim!) functionality is described as an advantage for the product. There is a SAP note (#895253) on making Redwood highly available. I am open to comments inputs and suggestions on this issue based on SAP client experiences.
    2) Related to 1), I have not seen much documentation on Redwood object naming conventions. I am interested in hearing how SAP clients have dealt with Redwood object naming (i.e. applications, job streams, scripts, events, locks). To date, I have seen in a presentation where customer objects are named starting with Z_. I like to include the object type in the name (e.g. EVT - Event, CHN - Job Chain, SCR - Script, LCK - Lock) keeping in mind the character length limitation of 30 characters. I also have an associated issue with Event naming given that we have 4 environments (DEV, QA, Staging, PROD). Assuming that we are not about to have one installation per environment, then we need to include the environment in the event name. The downside here is that we lose transportability for the job stream. We need to modify the job chain to wait for a different event name when running in a different environment. Comments?

    Hi Paul,
As suggested in book u2018job scheduling for SAP from SAPu2019 press it is better to have multiple instances of Cronacle version (at least 2 u2013 one for development & quality and other separate one for production. This will have no confusion).
Regarding transporting / replicating of the object definitions - it is really easy to import and export the objects like Events, Job Chain, Script, Locks etc. Also it is very easy and less time consuming to create a fresh in each system. Only complicated job chains creation can be time consuming.
In normal cases the testing for background jobs mostly happens only in SAP quality instance and then the final scheduling in production. So it is very much possible to just export the verified script / job chain form Cronacle quality instance and import the same in Cronacle production instance (use of Cronacle shell is really recommended for fast processing)
Regarding OSS note 895253 u2013 yes it is highly recommended to keep your central repository, processing server and licencing information on highly available clustered environment. This is very much required as Redwood Cronacle acts as central job scheduler in your SAP landscape (with OEM version).
As you have confirmed, you are using OEM and hence you have only one process server.
Regarding the conventions for names, it is recommended to create a centrally accessible naming convention document and then follow it. For example in my company we are using the naming convention for the jobs as Z_AAU_MM_ZCHGSTA2_AU01_LSV where A is for APAC region, AU is for Australia (country), MM is for Materials management and then ZCHGSTA2_AU01_LSV is the free text as provided by batch job requester.
For other Redwood Cronacle specific objects also you can derive naming conventions based on SAP instances like if you want all the related scripts / job chains to be stored in one application, its name can be APPL_<logical name of the instance>.
So in a nutshell, it is highly recommend
Also the integration of SAP solution manager with redwood is to receive monitoring and alerting data and to pass the Redwood Cronacle information to SAP SOL MAN to create single point of control. You can find information on the purpose of XAL and XMW interfaces in Cronacle help (F1).
Hope this answers your queries. Please write if you need some more information / help in this regard.
    Best regards,
    Vithal

  • Naming conventions for CMS tracks

    Hello all,
i want to setup CMS for XI transports and create some naming conventions for track id, track name and track description. I studied the howto guides, help.sap.com and searched the forum but i still have no satisfying answer for some questions.
    Repository Transports
As i read on a blog it would be a good idea to create separate tracks for each SWCV. To think about an unique name for track id and track name it's worth knowing if one SWCV can be assigned to more than one track. If not the SWCV would be sufficient to identify the track. Otherwise i have to add some prefix/suffix to make the track unique.
    Directory Transports
For Integration Directory track there is only one SWC on CMS available, SAP-INTDIR. Is it possible to create two tracks on one CMS with SAP-INTDIR for supplying two independent XI lines with directory content? For example one track for XD1 -> XQ1 -> XP1 and another for XD2 -> XQ2 -> XP2. If so the SWC alone is again not sufficient to identify the track.
If anybody has already thought about naming track id and track name i would be pleased to hear about your approach.
    Kind regards,
    Frank Opitz
