Trapping problem

I have Adobe CS4 Design Standard. I was using trap settings in Indesign. When we apply any trap preset (Default or self made) on any object or on all pages, Indesign goes quit and shows a dialogue box with message “"InDesign.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”  Let me know if any solution. Thanks in advance.

CS2
As I said in my original post It's a line of type...not a graphic.
We are visualizing the actual film where the error is evident.
The line of type that did not trap properly is the gold type to the left of the Mt Airy logo near the bottom of the ad. Instead of the yellow spreading into the black (as it should...light colors should spread into dark colors), the black spread into the yellow so when the job was printed the letters were almost unreadable (very thin).

  • Trapping problems with spot colors

    MAC 10.5.4 CS3
    I have had two books present similar problems with one of our printers. Both books are 2 color. The first is 2 spot colors and the second is spot and black. The problem is that the traps are showing up as white. It looks like anything that is trapped has a white stoke applied. One book has headers using the spot ink for the text, in a black box. These are all getting the white outline around the text. The other book has the the darker spot for text overprinting screened boxes of the lighter spot. The overprinted text looks ok.
    I had previously posted about the illustrations in the 2 spot book and have been able to take care of the issue regarding Transparency vs. postscript. But as we are still having this issue with some text and there is no transparency used I am wondering if there is some setting I can adjust to fix this.

    How is the trapping being applied? Did you set it yourself in InDesign?
    I think the default for InDesign is to use an InRIP trapping. And I always thought that was not part of ID's setup.
    Maybe I'm wrong. So let me know.

  • Fan traps problem

    hi all,
    i am a fresh man in this deisgner.
    Currently i facing a problem where the data fetching multiple values.
    the query i capture from webi is like below
    SELECT
      FACT_SALES_ID.VALUE,
      FACT_SALES_ID2.VALUE,
      Derived_Table.PRODUCT
    FROM
      FACT_SALES_ID,
      FACT_SALES_ID  FACT_SALES_ID2,
      Select FACT_SALES_ID.PRODUCT from FACT_SALES_ID GROUP BY FACT_SALES_ID.PRODUCT
      )  Derived_Table
    WHERE
      ( Derived_Table.PRODUCT=FACT_SALES_ID.PRODUCT  )
      AND  ( Derived_Table.PRODUCT=FACT_SALES_ID2.PRODUCT  )
      AND  ( FACT_SALES_ID.TRX_MTHDATE <='2011-04-30') and (FACT_SALES_ID.TRX_MTHDATE > '2010-04-30'  )
      AND  ( FACT_SALES_ID2.TRX_MTHDATE <='2010-04-30')  and (FACT_SALES_ID2.TRX_MTHDATE > '2009-04-30'    )
    i doubt it is a fan trap. i have tried to understand the solution but still didnt work out.
    any idea on it how to solve it in universe?
    i really appreciate to any one who helps.
    thanks alot

    First question:
    What is the purpose of the derived table?
    Second question:
    What are your measures? There are no aggregates there so it's difficult to tell.
    Third question:
    What is the relationship between the tables used in the query?

  • Kernel trap problem

    Hi
    I'm using a 13 inch mid-2012 MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.2
    For some weeks the computer has been crashing at random points, usually with the screen getting glitchy and freezing. The only alternative is to power off and then power on. Normally it won't power until several attempts, as it makes a 3-beep alarm sound.
    I took it to the Genius Bar, and they reinstalled everything but said they couldn't find any problems.
    I don't always get an error report, but here's the latest one. Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Three beeps on start-up usually means that you have bad RAM. If you're still under warranty, I would take the machine back to the Apple Store, along with a copy of your kernel panic log, and have them test the RAM (you can actually test the RAM yourself, using an app such as Rember).
    But it certainly look as if it's a problem with your RAM. Since you've stock RAM, and since you can add your own RAM if you're out of warranty and Apple wants a fortune for RAM, if you do have bad RAM you can get new RAM from reputable dealers at a good price.
    Good luck,

  • Trapping Problems with Placed Illustrator files

    Mac 10.5.4 CS3
    I am using CS3 to print postscript files and then making PDFs with Distiller. The Indesign file is full of .ai links that are not trapping correctly. When I view the PDF file the overprint warning shows up where the trap is correct.
    The Illustrator file has a bottom layer set to a screened pantone color and has a Gaussian Blur effect applied that I can see in the appearance palette (this is to look like a drop shadow). On top of that is a Second pantone color with no effect at 100%. On top of that is outlined text of the first pantone color at 100%. All traps are set to the default. What it looks like is that the trap is showing as white when the file prints. So the text and the second shape have the look of a white stroke. The really confusing part is that blocks of these areas print correctly (no white line).
    I have been told by my printers pre-press manager that he has a trapping software that fixes this issue for output so I am covered to get this printed. I want to know why this happens because we have several projects with this illustrator and if I can get her to alter her files as she creates them I wont need to "fix" several hundred files later.
    Any fixes for this? Any idea why this would happen?
    Thanks.

    If you intend on using transparent effects don't write postscript and then distill. Export to PDF right from InDesign instead. Postscript has no idea what transparency is and so it needs to be "flattened" for it to go through that type of workflow. Thats why the Illy files were ai's and not eps's.

  • MT3 Ultra ARU

    Hey!
    I need some help.
    I have a problem with that Board.
    When the system boots it stop and show s on the screen with the following text.
    "Checking NVRAM."
    Is this the Board or the prozessor?
    Thx
    Rico

    Hi RicoM,
    which BIOS revision you're using? If you're using any older than BIOS 5.4, please do an upgrade to BIOS 5.4 or 5.5 This fixes this problem.
    Well, this problem is a boot trap problem. It occurs with BIOS 5.3 and earlier, with some particular BIOS settings enabled.
    BIOS update will solve this problem. Please keep us updated if this problem remained.

  • Installing OS9 onto G4 Digital Audio

    Hi,
    I was directed here to get better help with this topic. As the title says, I want to install OS9 onto my Digital Audio G4 tower but having little success. I have ttried various discs (9.0, 9.1, 9.2) and none let me install the OS. The best I can get is the "Welcome to Mac OS 9.1" before the bomb screen shows saying there was an unimplemented trap problem. To get that far I have to boot off of a 9.0 disc to get the Floppy and ? error before I change to a 9.1/9.2 disc to start the installer. If I try to boot from the 9.1 or 9.2 discs directly, my Mac complains that there's no bootable medium. I have tried various images and even retail discs (including one that came with the original OSX package) to no avail.
    Is there anyone that can help?
    Thanks,
    Naoki

    Make sure your 1/2 AA 3.6V PRAM battery is under 4 years old. Make sure you are in fact using a Digital Audio:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3082
    The Digital Audio never officially supported 10.5. If you used LeopardAssist to install 10.5 on it, double check with LeopardAssist's author that didn't affect your ability to use 9 with it, since 10.5 is not compatible with Classic, but is compatible with dual booting into Classic.
    If the Mac has a third party processor upgrade, the firmware may have affected its ability to use 9.
    Use this article to determine which versions of 9 CD can work with your Mac, once you have identified your Mac accurately with HT3082:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2191
    Make sure your 9 retail copy says in black text the version of 9 that is newer than the minimum shown in the article:
    9(.0), 9.0.2, 9.0.4, 9.1, 9.2.1 are all retail releases in the sequence of release.
    The 9 CD has an orange 9 logo with a white background, and does not Upgrade, or Dropin on it, or any Mac model on it. Lastly, verify the startup manager can see the 9 CD after being inserted:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TA27043
    And the curly arrow is clicked on it. If it doesn't see the CD, then it is not compatible.

  • Problem with fan Trap.

    Hi all,
    I am having a problem resolving fan trap.
    I am having a universe build over a MY SQL database.
    The universe totaly consists of 4 tables and are related in the following way.
    "A one to many B one to many C many to one D"
    There are many 1-may joins between A and B and also between B and C.
    There are measures and dimensions in A, B. And in C there are only measureas and 1 dimension.
    When I pull the objects from all the three tables (A,B and C) there is a fan trap occuring and the values are getting inflated.
    So I created an alias for B and defined a context for A, B and B alias and A,B and C. I have also checked the option of "Multiple SQL statements for different contexts."
    But then I am trying to build a report in WebI and pulling the objects from both the unvierses there are 2 queries being generated and in the report, I am not able to pull the objects from different contexts into the same table.
    If I select an object that is in context-1 the objects that are defined in context-2 are being dissabled and vise-versa.

    You can set this behaviour in the universe parameters under SQL->Multiple paths->Allow seleciton of mutliple contexts .
    Still since you are solving a fan trap you should keep this option clear.
    A solution is to fetch the data from 2 different contents using 2 different webi queries and then use the Merge dimensions functionality in the report itself to join the results.

  • Problem with Generating SNMP traps from Windows Events

    Hi Supporter,
    I configured some events to be translated to traps using evntwin for Service Control Manager and Local Session Manager events. But I just got traps from Service Control Manager event. There is no Local Session Manager events are generated. I checked
    with Event Viewer that events are created. Do you have any idea to fix my problem?
    Thank you!
    Here is my config file from evntwin:
    #pragma add "System" "Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager" 2952790037 1 0
    #pragma add "System" "Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager" 2952790039 1 0
    #pragma add "System" "Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager" 2952790040 1 0
    #pragma add "System" "Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager" 2952790041 1 0
    #pragma add "System" "Service Control Manager" 1073748864 1 0

    #pragma ADD<EventLogFile> <EventSource> <EventID> [<Count> [<Period>]]
    The parameter EventSource specifies the application that generates the event.

  • SNMP Traps Monitoring problem.

    Hi,
    Hear is my problem. I am using SNMP Traps as Auto-Reaction Method to monitor some files system. I am already receiving Traps when the file exceeds the thresholds value (when change from Green to Yellow and when change from Yellow to Red). The problem that I’m having is that I am not receiving Traps to reset these values (Reset from Red to Yellow and Reset from Yellow to Green). What do I have to do to receive those traps?

    Hi Santiago,
    I am trying to send snmp alert from solution manager to Tivoli enterprise console. I did all configuration based on SAP document but Tivoli team keep saying that they did not receive anything. There is no way i can test on my side that what is the problem. When aler is generated, i see the MTE goes red and then alert status shows " Action required". However if I change the method to email, i receive emails. it is only SNMP which does not  work.
    Can you tell if i need to setup special parameter in SNMP method which i am missing. I did the following:
    HOST - Tivoli server
    Trapsort - UDP
    Port - 162
    MIB_DIR = /usr/sap//SID/SYS/exe/run/MIBS
    Also is there any settings which Tivoli team has to do for receiving traps? It is possible for you to share the setup document? you can send it to me on [email protected]
    Thanks for ur help.

  • Trapping preset creats problem in Indesign

    I have Adobe CS4 Design Standard. I was using trap settings in Indesign. When we apply any trap preset (Default or self made) on any object or on all pages, Indesign goes quit and shows a dialogue box with message “"InDesign.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”  Is there any solution?

    No need to post the same topic more than once. If someone has an answer they will do so.

  • Trap management problem

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem configuring traps for windows servers.
    We have installed zen server management in a mixed Netware / Windows
    environment. ZEN is running on a Novell OES cluster. Everything seems to
    be running fine. Nodes are discovered and can be edited. However, when we
    select a windows node, then select say "devices", right click that, and
    choose actions -> trap configurations we only get Netware traps.
    There is only one profile visible, and when we try to add another
    profile,
    the only thing we can add are Netware traps.
    Windows and Dell open manage MIB's are compiled and are visible if we
    look
    ate the site configuration.
    So how can we set Windows traps on windows nodes then ?
    I'm sure there is a simple solution for this, but I can's see it at the
    moment.
    Any help is very much appreciated.
    thanks in advance,

    Hoi Rene,
    Hoe is het met mijn oud collega van Azlan. Alles goed verder?
    Waar ben je op dit moment werkzaam?

  • Problem trapping event in a matrix SBO 2004

    Hi
    I am trying to trap when the lost focus event in a matrix, so if the cell is empty I want to put the focus back into that cell and call a formatted search
    I can't seem to get the cursor to go back to the original cell. Can anyone help please ?
    Regards Andy
        Case et_LOST_FOCUS:
        ' check if parish code is empty in posts matrix
        If pVal.formuid = "CONTACTS" And pVal.ItemUID = "228" And pVal.ColUID = "u_dpcode" And pVal.Before_Action = False Then
          Set oform = SBO_Application.Forms(formuid)
          Set omatrix = oform.Items("228").Specific
          If Trim(omatrix.Columns("u_dpcode").Cells(pVal.Row).Specific.String) = "" Then
            omatrix.Columns("u_dpcode").Cells.Item(pVal.Row).Click ct_Regular
            ' SBO_Application.SendKeys ("+{F2}")
          End If
          Set omatrix = Nothing
          Set oform = Nothing
        End If

    Hi Paul,
    Have you debuged the app and ensure if this line is executed?
    omatrix.Columns("u_dpcode").Cells.Item(pVal.Row).Click ct_Regular
    Which version is it?
    in 2005, the Validate and Before_Action = true event is rised too, and you could use it to set the BubbleEvent to false(In 2004 it is not rised).

  • Problems understanding SNMP OIDs/Traps

    Dear Community,
    i would be very glad if you could help me with this thopic...i seem to have some trouble understanding it...
    Here an example:
    2010-01-18 06:28:44    Unknown alert received from device ber-be-swt01.is24-rz.de of type SwCiscoIOS. Device Time 82+21:21:53. (Trap type 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.2.0.1.6.0)\nTrap var bind data: \nOID:  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.3.738  Value:  1\nOID:  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.4.738  Value:  4\nOID:  1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.5.738  Value:  2\nOID:  1.3.6.1.6.3.18.1.3.0  Value:  10.3.32.2
    Ok. Let's take the trap type:
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.2.0.1.6.0
    Searching with SNMP Object Navigator (http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?local=en) i only get as far as:
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.2.0.1   -> ...6.0 is unkown.
    If i search for the OID
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.3.738 for example
    i get the following:
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.3  -> ...738 is unknown.
    This happens with a lot of OIDs for me (not just these ones). If i understand the OID correctly, this could be a command from the command line which forced this trap.
    So what's the .738 for? Why couldn't it be recognised by the search-function?
    In advance i like to thank you for any feedback.
    Sven Schlingloff

    Try using my search and translate tool at http://jaguar.ir.miami.edu/~marcus/snmptrans.html .  If you do, you will see that 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.2.0.1.6.0 translates to ciscoConfigManEvent.  The OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.3.738 translates to ccmHistoryEventCommandSource.  However, ccmHistoryEventCommandSource'd OID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6.1.3.  The .738 is the specific instance.  The definition of ccmHistoryEventCommandSource is:
    "The source of the command that instigated the event."
    This object comes from the ccmHistoryEventTable which is indexed by the ccmHistoryEventIndex object.  The definition of that object is:
    "A monotonically increasing integer for the sole
    purpose of indexing events.  When it reaches the
    maximum value, an extremely unlikely event, the agent
    wraps the value back to 1 and may flush existing
    entries."
    So, the 738 is simply a unique number which identifies this particular history event.
