Travelling comments in siebel via dashboard

Hi All,
Currently users use a note pad to document the information that should go to a comments of a service request. They do this by navigating across various screens and capture the relevant information and store it in a notepad in their machine. once they have gathered all the required information, they go back to the service request and update the comments of the service request with the information from the notepad.
We are looking for such a notepad functionality with in the Siebel .
Using the customer dashboard, following is the approach we are looking for . Please let us know if any one implemented the below or any such similar solution to address the requirement. If so, please share the technical details on how the solution is implemented. Appreciate your responses
1. Make comments editable in the customer dashboard.
2. User can update the comments in the customer dashboard while they navigate across the screens to gather the information.
3. Once the user is done collecting all the required information, user will click a button on the customer dashboard which will then take the comments from dashboard , update the comments of the corresponding service request and then go to the service request screen.
Thanks in Advance,
Deepak Veeravalli.

Nice requirement indeed.
What comes to mind first of all is of course Marketing segmentation...but even there you're seeing the list of records in OBI EE and jump to the OLTP on a record-by-record basis. The result sets get written to the OLTP rather than being applied as a search-spec, but that's not what you need, so scrap that unfortunately.
Gonna have a look whether the web service interface contains something useful. (Think "target list" funtionality on the CRM side...). The Easy-BI WS won't help here (equally unfortunately) since "executeRequest" wouldn't know your currently chosen prompts.
BBL with some more input.

  • Travel Request Approval Scenario via Workflow does not trigger

    Hi guys,
System Information: SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 / Using WDA-Scenarios on Portal NW 7.01.
I'm having trouble understanding/implementing the approval scenario of the Travel Request via Workflow/UWL. POWL isn't usable for us as it isn't flexible enough to process the complex agent assignment rules for the respective approver our (momentarily..) requirements 'dictate' ...
    What I did so far:
I copied the Workflow Template 200000040 to a custom template (since I'll have to alter it) and activated the Event of Creation for BUS2089. Thus, in SWE2, the respective entry for BUS2089 for the event CREATED has been set by the system. All good so far. When I create a TRIP via PR05 (we are public sector), the event for BUS2089 gets fired in SAPMP56T and the Workflow gets triggered; works out well. However, when I post a travel request in Portal (FITE_REQUEST), the workflow is not getting triggered. I searched for information or similar questions on the forum but didn't find anything. Neither did I find a concrete clue in the View Containers FITE_VC_* etc..
Could anyone assist me with this? I'm sure I'm missing something very basic here.... -_-
    Bottom line:
Why is my workflow not getting triggered from creating travel requests via FITE_REQUEST?
    Cheers, Lukas

SWE2 linkage is activated for my Workflow number (I didn't do it by hand, it's set by the system since I activated the event in my workflowtemplate --> this way actually no inconsistencies can happen).
SWDD Tests are successful and the Workflow is working well in general. That's why I pointed out in my previous post that the process is working fine when initiated via PR05.
EDIT: Or maybe somebody knows the part in coding FITV_FPM/FITE_VC* where the workflow should be triggered? It's freaking unfindable, I've been debugging for hours. >:-(
EDIT: Debugged the entire WDA Frmaework for like five hours...feeling dead inside...someone please tell me from where the workflow gets triggered when saving travel request from portal -_-....

  • Posting of Travel Expense with Payment via HR Payroll

    Hi
Assuming expense type code 1111 is assigned to Wage type 1111. At travel mgmt, user declared input tax P3 is applicable for the expense type and enter amount 100. Thus the input tax amount is $3.

  • Controlling multiple travel requests per day via schema

    Hello,
I am working on Travel Management.
My client wishes that it should not be possible for any employee to raise more than one travel requests per day.
In the schema, the check box- Multiple TRs/Day is not available. I think with the help of this, maybe issue could be resolved.
    I am not sure.
Can someone point out what could be missing? What should I do to control this?
    Thank you.
    Ruth Dhamone

I'm on NW AS 7.03 ABAP Stack 731 Level 13, ECC 606 (EHP 6) with SAP_HR 604 Level 81 and EA_HR 607 (HR-Renewal 1) Level 32 over here. Maybe they really removed it... or it's not available for the deviant Public Sector ;-/. Doesn't really matter though, we don't need it, I was just curious ;-)
Anyway, since this is not your problem (I misunderstood), there are two possibilities I can think of at the moment:
    1. The Trip is still in the future, hence the Schema doesn't have to be changed and the system remains in technical Schema PL (which is unlikely in your case if the status really says "Trip Completed"). I.e. your Trip is not in the future, is it?
    2. Only one of your expense Schemas qualifies for the trip. In that case the system silently defaults to that one and you don't get the option to choose from a list.
    Cheers, Lukas

  • Drill Down in a Webi Report via Dashboard Builder

    Hi,
I am using BOE XI3.1 SP2 and dashboard buider.
When you insert a webi document, you can right click on the report to select/unselect a report part.  When you do it for a crosstab in drill mode, it losses the drilling capabilities.  Is there a patch to correct this ?
Also when you look into the component properties, the display specific report part gives you the following info :
    UIREF:RID=2:BID=38.
Is there any documentation which explain how to specify this string ?
    Kind regards.

Do you have custom hierarchies set up?
You would need to set the three hierarchies up as you have described.
However, you'd have to consider the drilling within the report as all the objects from all three hierarchies are in each tab.
What concerns me is that the hierarchies can be so different.
    Consider A -> B -> C -> D -> E as
    Country -> Region -> Area -> City -> Store
How can you logically have the other two hierarchies?

  • Putting comments from Planning in a report via SQL

Has anyone built a report in Web Analysis using the SQL Spreadsheet to report comments entered in via the Planning Application. I found three tables in the Planning repository that contain notes, two of them tie together but the third is too generic and I have not been able to find the reference data.
The tables are: hsp_cell_note, hsp_cell_note_item, hsp_text_cell_value. I'm planning on writing a PL/SQL procedure that loads the data into a summary table with reference members but wanted to check if this has already been done and someone could share the "How" it was done.
    Thanks in Advance!

For cell text then you have two of the correct tables
    HSP_CELL_NOTE
    HSP_CELL_NOTE_ITEM
You will need to join these tables by ID back to HSP_OBJECT.OBJECT_ID and HSP_OBJECT.OBJECT_NAME will give you the member name.
    Cheers

  • Integrating Siebel and OBIA 7.9.6.3

    Hi wizards,
I try to understand the steps required to set up the integration of OBIA 7.9.6.3 and Siebel.
The OBIA dashboards are embedded in Siebel via a Symbolic URL which passes the Siebel login credentials (UseSiebelLoginPassword, UseSiebelLoginId) to OBIA/OBIEE.
I have now a lack of understanding what I have to set up on the OBIEE 11g side. With OBI 10g I set up a USER session variable/session initialization block which was used to authenticate the user (thus the user did not have to type in its login credentials when accessing an OBI dashboard in Siebel).
With 11g and Weblogic (and assuming that I want to use LDAP/Active Directory authentication) is this still valid or does Weblogic require different steps?
The Oracle Fusion Middleware - Security Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise guide includes a chapter "Alternative Authentication Options".
Do I have to follow the steps explained in this chapter to make the integration via Symbolic URL work?
    Thanks,

  • I am trying to connect Dashboard shared variables to a server on a different subnet. Any ideas?

My goal is to control a device that is connected to our wired network using an Android tablet via Dashboard.  I have created a vi with shared variables that controls the device as expected when it runs on a computer that is connected to the same wired network.  The problem is that my Android tablet running the Dashboard app cannot connect to the shared variables on the PC running the vi on the wired network.
Our wireless network is on a separate subnet from our wired network.  I am able to ping my Android tablet from the PC on the wired network but when I try to connect a variable in Dashboard, the PC running the SVE cannot be found.  I tried listing it in the alternative server settings window and it still did not work.  The only way I have been able to get around this is to run the vi which launches the server on a laptop that is connected to the wireless network and the wired network at the same time.  My tablet can then find the server and my VI can connect to the instrument that is connected to the wired network.  The laptop is somehow acting as a bridge between the subnets.  I need to find a way for the Dashboard app to connect directly to the PC on the wired network.  My PC IP address is 192.168.0.105.  My Android IP address is 192.168.10.93.

Data Dashboard doesn't care about subnets, but it has to be able to access the server using the right ports. There is probably a firewall blocking the shared variable ports. This document explains how to configure a firewall to allow shared variables to be accessed. Your challenge will probably be to figure out where the firewall is and how to configure it.
It is also possible that the router that your Android device is connected to doesn't know how to route to the other network. Again, that is an issue with your router that you need to resolve.

  • Can I watch an iTunes movie rental on a TV connected via mini displayport?

I'm not sure if there's been any headway with this, but I've got a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor on the way that I'm going to use to connect my MacBook Pro to my HDTV, effectively using the TV as an external monitor.
And of course, I want to watch some iTunes movie rentals on the TV instead of my laptop, but digging around the internet has shown that I might be facing an issue relating to the HDCP standard that would prevent me from being able to use my TV in this manner.
Is this still an issue? I have a fall 2009 MacBook Pro, which may be important, as I've read that Apple modified the mini displayport on the MacBooks in 2010.
Other than renting a movie as a sort of guinea pig with the possibility of being shot down and wasting my money, is there any way to know if this is going to work? Or is it simply a fact that any monitor/TV connected to my MacBook through the mini displayport is incompatible with HDCP, and I'm totally out of luck?
(Which, FYI Apple, is utter horse **** and is absolutely counter-productive to the notion of encouraging me to pay for digital entertainment.)
    What are your thoughts, folks?

If your HDTV is HDCP compliant, you probably will have no problems. But you might want to read this information which while written a while back still, to the best of my knowledge, applies:
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/16488
HDCP compliance is, from what I've read, rather a "rubber ruler" so even if your TV lists as being HDCP, it might or might not work correctly with your Mac. Testing with one movie first might avoid an expensive surprise.
As to your complaint to Apple, it probably wasn't up to Apple but instead was forced on them as part of the conditions by the content owners for licensing movies and shows to the iTunes Store. But feel free to comment to Apple via their feedback pages:

  • Obiee 11g 11.1.1.6 Action links not taking into consideration DashBoard Prompts

I really hope someone can help.
I have a dashboard with an analysis that has a column that is not shown but is prompted via dashboard prompts.
This dashboard is a summary set of data and the column in question is deliberately exclude at the request of the users for clarity within the analysis.
An example would be a pivot report that looks something like this.....
    OrgUnit
    Year 2010-11
    Year 2011-12
    Org 1
    5
    19
    Org 2
    7
    25
    Org 3
    3
    7
With a Prompt on the dashboard for example pay grade set to a default value.
The dashboard prompt works just fine and only the items prompted for are shown.
However - the dashboard report has another report linked via an Action Link - that allows you to drill down on one of the values.
The prompts on the linked report are Org Unit, Year and Pay Grade.
clicking on the Year 2010-11 value for Org 1 I would expect only 5 results however every value for the year 2010-11 at Org 1 is returned and the prompt on pay grade is ignored - obviously as it not passed by the action link!
How can I get around this?
Is this a 'feature' of OBIEE as other similar tools I  have used take any top level prompts as explicit parameters for further drill downs - any help would be appreciated.....
    J.

    Hi,
Yes, we do face this issue. There is no workaround for this issue as of now.

  • Can a prospect be converted to an opportunity via the web service?

    Hi
We have successfully integrated an ecommerce website with the Siebel CRM system. Orders feed into Siebel Opportunities and customers expressing an interest in products who fill the "request for more info" form are fed into Siebel prospects.
We want to upgrade the system such that if a customer placing an order is found in the Siebel prospects table, we want to be able to convert it into an opportunity via the Siebel web service. This would be the equivalent of clicking the [Convert] button on the relevant prospect via the Siebel web admin site, i.e.
    http://demo.bloommedia.co.uk/prospect.jpg
It's important that we 'convert' it rather than delete/recreate as we want to track the conversion rate.
We've asked Siebel via the customer support area but they have not answered, does anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure if you’re asking a technical question or a functional question, but I don’t see any reasons why you couldn’t use a web service to generate a Siebel Opportunity.
Functionally, as long as you have a “Customer” and a “Product” relationship, you have enough information to create an Opportunity in Siebel. Technically, if the data source is external to the Siebel application, then a Web Service is a valid logical integration solution.
The caveat, of course, is that your technical infrastructure and business model supports this solution.

  • Dashboard - Unable to access external data (BW connection)

    Hello everyone
I have observed below error when dashboard is opened.
We are using SAP Dashboard 4.0 SP5 (patch 2) and it uses BW connection for its data source (SAP NW connection). Dashboard is run on SAP portal and we are not using BO enterprise.
We noticed this error recently after doing an BW SPS upgrade to BW 7.3 SP11.
I tried opening the query via Business Explorer and Query designer and it succeeded but via dashboard. We used 9 query connection for the dashboard and all of them provide the same result.
I presume that it might be due this but do we have any SAP notes or any solution already for this problem? I looked around SCN forums and couldn't find it. Can anyone help me on this please ?
    Regards
    Kishore Balachandran

It sounds like your problem is caused by the subnet created by the AirPort Express (AX) for wireless clients. To eliminate this problem, configure the AX so that the option to distribute IP addresses is DISABLED.
