Traversing other records in VO when updating a field

Hi All
I have a scenario where Im updating TxnAmt (transaction amount) attribute in a VO. The corresponding balance attribute can be updated via the setBalance method of the VORowImpl.java file. What i trying to do is update all the other balance attributes that are timestamp after this current row. Can i do this from VORowImpl.java file ? or do i have to code this functionality in an AM implementation ?
Reason being is that I would like to contain this functionality to the scope of the VO and not have AM (Application Module) implementation.
Any suggestions or pointers

You can do what you need in the View Object Class, rather than the View Row Class.

MS ACCESS exception when updating memo field

I use JDBC - stmt.setCharachterStream() to set large amount of characters to the db.
I get a MS Access "Function sewuence error" when updating a large amount of data (for smaller amounts there is no problem).
Any Ideas ?
note:
I was using stmt.setAsciiStream method but had problem saving data with non english characters in DB (that was in SQL server DB)..
The data was saved as "?". but with setCharactersStream it is saved ok.
So I must use setCharacterStream method..

Error when updating users fields within the webcenter portal

Our users want to update the preferred Language field. We achieve that by setting in Administration > Configuration > People Connections > Profile > Profile Attributes - Edit Settings:
Unfortunately, it throws error when user click "Update". you have configured LDAP with webcenter for user.
and need to ask this query to respective LDAP persons.
As I clearly see the "INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS"--so provide the admin rights (or required priviledge) for the user.

Update/Insert child entity record in siebel when a session is saved in WD

Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to create/update a child entity's record in siebel when user clicks on save session link in WD window after the rule execution. We are using IO mapping. Account is the parent entity and let's say B is the child entity.We are storing row_id of the new created B record in a field of Account BC(before the WD call we are creating a new B record).
So, in the rule we need to update one field of B entity such that we can update the new created B record using EAI Siebel Adapter BS in the Policy Automation Save Session IO Post WF. We wrote like below.
reason(B's field) = RejectionReason (Account's attribute) if
ButtonOption = "Reject"
and
B's id = Account's field where B's row_id is stored for the new record
but we found that we had to use rule table for this.
We used the rule table like below(could not paste the table):
rule_loop
Reason
RejectionReason     ButtonOption = “Reject”
And
B’s row_id = B’s row_id in Account
Reason     otherwise
It is setting B's Reason field for the particular record of B, but for rest of the B's records it is setting Reason to null although we do not want to change the Reason for rest of the B records.
Could you please help us on this? Also how to navigate to the question screen directly if any attribute value is null? We added the screen flow but now it is directly showing the summary screen even if the attribute value is null.

Hi Frank,
Yes, the parent entity is "Account" and the child entity is a new entity(B).One Account can have multiple B records(1:M relationship).Before calling WD one B record is created for the Account and we are storing the row id of that record in Account BC.
In WD screen we have dropdown where user can select "Reject" option for the product offered to him.
user selects "Reject": in the next screen he will select the Rejection Reason and when he saves the session the Reason field of the new B record will be updated.
We have created an IO to send data to OPA where Account is the primary BC.So if we can update the Reason of B in the rule(for the new B record) then we can directly use the IntegrationObject returned from OPA and use EAI Siebel Adapter BS to update that B record in Policy Automation Save Session IO Post WF.
So we need:
Update Reason for the new B record, do not update the Reason for rest of the B records.We had written in a rule table like below:
rule_loop
Reason
RejectionReason     ButtonOption = “Reject” and B’s row_id = B’s row_id in Account
Reason     otherwise
(B’s row_id in Account, RejectionReason are global attributes for Account, Reason is the B's attribute)
when we used the IntegrationObject in Siebel(after the save session) it is updating Reason of the correct B record(new one)...but for rest of the B records Reason becomes null(the otherwise condition). We do not need to update the Reason for the remaining B records.
Please could you suggest us how to stop updating the Reason of the remaing B records in the rule itself?

There might be a routine in your Transformation which might be filtering few records(or)
It is possible that you will have multiple records for one keyfield in PSA. But when you try loading the same to datatarget like Cube, the result will be added.
For ex, say you have Profit center US00000593 in PSA with two rows with keyfigure(say some ABC) values 100 & -50.
Then when you load the data to datatarget, you will have only one row in it with Profit center US00000593 & values for keyfigure ABC=50 (i.e 100-50=50). So most of the times we will be having added records less than transferred records.

I wonder what happens in OBAW when a record in OLTP is updated ?
I mean... I've ETLed the record a couple of days ago, and it is there in OBAW. Now for some reason the OLTP is changed...
Pls... when we do the new ETL (incremental) does that record in OBAW gets updated ?
BTW... the OLTP in reference is EBS.

That is where "Prune Days" in the Execution Plan Parameters comes into play. Data which has been updated in the source system since "Prune Days" ago is re-extracted.

I have a requirement where i need to update the columns of a table based on values of the same table with some empid and date match. If the date and empid match then i have take these values from other record and update the one which is not having office details. I need the update query

I do not have time to create the table with data but basically you should be able to code the following
update table a
set office = ( select office from table b where b.emp_id = a.emp_id
                                                             and     b.start_date = a.start_date
                                                             and     b.office is not null
where exists ( [same query as in set] )
and a.office is null
I believe that will do the trick.

When updating or purchasing an iOS app a dialog will appear stating this app and over ten others cannot be downloaded and then disappear and allow me to continue. How can I get this dialog to cease?

A dialog will continue to appear on both my iPhone 4 and iPad (1st Gen) when downloading an update or purchasing a new app from the iOS app store. The dialog stats that "Example app and 11 others could not be downloaded" and then once I tap "Ok" it will allow me to continue updating or purchasing all applications including the example app listed. My iTunes Store (Apple ID) account is fine and I've tried resetting and restarting but not restoring. I'd like to resolve the issue without a restore if possible. I'd like to get the dialog to cease. As I mentioned it is not tied to one device but my account when updating or purchasing applications.

anything that's not music, photos, apps, etc. anything that is not whatever is shown next to the other on the bottom of your screen. for example, if you look on your phone at settings, general, usage and click on any of the apps it will show you how much the actual app takes up and also how much documents and data it has; that documents and data portion will be counted as other. most phones that are operating normally have around 1gb of other so if you have a lot more than that you probably have a corrupt file or something. in that case search "removing other from iphone" will help you, but usually restoring is what will fix it.

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

Try quitting the App Store:
Tap the home button to get to the home screen. Then double tap the home button, and hold your finger over the App Store icon. Tap the red when it appears. Tap the home button again to return to the home screen.
Try resetting:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.

Do you recognise the id e.g. has anybody else used your iPad and downloaded and/or synced apps from their account onto it ? If so then those apps will be tied to that person's account, and only that account can download any updates to those apps.
Otherwise you can log out of the currently logged in account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and you can then log in with a different account.
