  • Limit to HTML Header text in APEX Page

    I have an APEX page that has a fairly large amount of javascript in the HTML header. After I added some more, the page blows up. Is there a limit to how much you can add. It doesn't look like Page 0 has the limitation. Is there one one on either?
    What is the best way around this? Adding the individual page javascript to Page 0 or creating a .js that gets included on that page only.
    Thanks!

    Large page sizes will DESTROY your perceived performance. High performance apps go way out of their way to improve page load times by:
    - Minifying or compressing javasript
    - Making sure it is cache-able
    - Loading the minimum amount of javascript you need for the page to function, then "lazy loading" (background loading) the rest
    - Lazy loading all of the JavaScript files you need for the app on the login page or first page to cache them
    - Using gzip compression in the app server
    - Using a Content Delivery Network (CDN)
    - Reducing HTML size using CSS and other techniques
    - Reducing the number of network requests for images using CSS sprites. (more info here: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/04/27/the-mystery-of-css-sprites-techniques-tools-and-tutorials/ )
    Storing JavaScript in the head of the page flies in the face of almost everyone of those concepts. Have a look at this if you have time:

  • How to align Hgrid column(messagestyledtext) header text to right justified

    Hi All,
    I have a Hgrid table and i am using five columns in hgrid table.. I need to display column header text right justified. but by default it is left justified.
    Can any one tell me how to do it..
    Its very urgent.. Please help me out..
    Regards,
    Babu

    Use
    OAHGridBean GeneralHgrid=(OAHGridBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("<hgrid item name>");
    GeneralHgrid.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    DataObjectList tableColumnFormats =GeneralHgrid.getColumnFormats();
    DictionaryData tableColumnFormat = (oracle.cabo.ui.data.DictionaryData)tableColumnFormats.getItem(pageContext.findChildIndex(GeneralHgrid, "<item id of item attached in hgrid column>"));
    tableColumnFormat.put(COLUMN_DATA_FORMAT_KEY, <enter format>);
    see below:
     TEXT_FORMAT (textFormat)- column content is Start justified.
     NUMBER_FORMAT (numberFormat)- column content is Right justified.
     ICON_BUTTON_FORMAT (iconButtonFormat)- column content is center justified.

  • Default text is populated in header text while creating PO.

    Hi All,
             Can someone help me with some inputs on this issue.
    1) <b> A particular PO header text is appearing by default when we click on Long Text tab and coming back in the TCode ME21.</b>
    2)  Irrespective of the organization details, Vendor or Material etc. for any PO these texts are appearing.
    3) The path for example :
           Test Example –  Enter some PO no. (4502756226),                               Goto Header ->Texts -> Texts  Overview -> Header Text (Long Text Tab),<---This is where the defualt text is appearing.
    4) Imp Note: These texts are appearing ONLY while creation of the PO, but when in Change (ME22) and in display (ME23) not appearing.
    Could someone help me out on this.
    My steps this far:
    1) I tried finding if there is any userexit. I found that all the include files of all the userexits were empty.
    2) Kindly suggest me if there any other way to search a solution for this.

    Krishna Hi,
                   Thanks!!!
                   Tried navigating through  MM>Purchasing>Purchase order>Texts for PO>Define copying rules for header texts.
                  These are meant for coying the header texts right?
                  I unchecked the box there and the default header text still appears.
                  Tell me if i erred somewhere in the above steps you had told.
                 In the meantime..am also trying to hunt down on the FM "read_text" that
                 probably is triggering the defualt text to get copied.
                 Your answer helped me look at the problem from a diff perspective.
                  Thanks Krishna.

  • New Header Text for PR

    Dear colleagues,
    I have created a new header text for PR under object EBANH (as Z01) from transaction code SE75. This new header text appears when creating/changing PR but when I fill this new header text right behind saving of PR filled data disappears from this new header text of PR.
    Can you please advice how to solve this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi Nick,
    EBANH is active if it wouldn't have than I couldn't maintain the original text area (B01) supplied by SAP. But I can simply maintain and save original header note of PR.
    Thanks.
    PS. Where can I see if EBANH is active or not?

  • Left- and right-justifying with dot leaders in JLabel and JButton

    Hi,
    I am developing checklists using JLabel and JButton components and want to finish up with the text in each component looking something like the following (each line is a separate button/label):
    ACTION No1............................RESPONSE No1
    ACTION No2............................RESPONSE No2
    ACTION No3............................RESPONSE No3
    The idea is to have the Action text left-justified and the Response text right-justified with dot-leaders as shown.
    Each text line will be put into its own fixed length label or button.
    I plan to construct a string from text blocks ACTION No1 and RESPONSE No1 and add the calculated, exact no of dots in between to fill the space.
    The text font can be fixed (e.g. Courier) or proportional (e.g. Arial).
    My question is how to calculate the number of dots to add to fill the space for different fonts and font sizes.
    I think that using FontMetrics could provide some help but am not sure how this would work.
    Can anyone help.
    Many tks

    Hi,
    I've developed your suggested code further to enable selected JLabels to be toggled visible(true/false) by pressing a JButton.
    I'd like however that when a label is made invisible that the rest of the labels/buttons move up to fill the space left by the now invisible label and vice versa.
    How do I do this, can you enlighten me on a solution?
    Modified code included below. Not very elegant but serves to illustrate the point in question and only makes the label invisible.

  • HTML HEADER (Image + text)

    Hi.
    I am writing a small code in html header which goes like this
    <table1 border="1" >
    <tr1>
    <td1 width = "25%">
    <img1 border="0" src1="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#image.gif" width="182"
    height="46">
    </td1>
    <td1 width="65%" ><p align="center"><font1 size="6"
    color="#FFFFFF">XXXXX</font>
    </td1>
    </tr1>
    </table1>
    Problem : I cant control the font size.
    Hint : I think image_cell is not allowing text in text_cell to grow (may be bcos of image size).
    I tried diff options.. but couldnt figure it out.
    Any help is higly appreciated.

    hi again,
    yes, I could let the servlet call the web service but then I need to parse the request in order to get the SOAP message and then build th new request, then I need to get the reply and transform it and return it to the caller... seems a lot of work.
    What I am trying to do is a sort of primitive ESB, all calls to services have to go via the servlet, that will be logging information like caller, method, parameters etc and then forward the request to the right service.
    Maybe ther is a better way but I can't think of one...
    Thanks,
    A.

  • How to Right Justify text on Ipod

    My ipod has been through some wear and tear, long story short, the screen is "cracked" so to speak down the middle and from the middle of the screen to the left side i cannot see anything. I'm trying to figure out how to right justify all of the text so that i can actually use my ipod and search songs

    You can't change the layout of any part of the iPod OS. Sorry. You might want to consider getting the screen replaced. There are lots of third party repair outfits that charge less than Apple to so the job.

  • How to ADD dynamic header text to Right hand Corner of IDR -FPM OVP/OIF

    Hi,
    How can we add dynamic header text to right hand side corner in FPM OVP?
    I know we can handle left hand side.. but i do need simultaneously right hand side..
    ANy thoughts??
    Rgds
    Tarun

    I am not sure how it is arranged in 7.02, in 7.01 IDR layout is flow layout so you cannot have layouts other than that. I thought that this has been changed in 7.02 to accommodate the matrix layout. I am not sure about it. If this was true then you can try to play with the layout to fit right hand side. It is not easy though.

  • EDGE and HTML dynamic text in a "box" with scroll bar

    I'm new to EDGE, a win7pro master collection cs5.5 suite owner. I'm mainly in the Film/Video post production field (mostly AE, PPro, Pshop, IA) but have been branching into web design the last couple of years.  I use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash. While I'm a expert user with all the Film/video apps, I would say I only have intermediate ability with the web apps. While I understand a lot of programing logic bulding blocks I'm not a coder.
    So since we're told "flash is dead",  my interest in Edge is to try to do some of the things that I can currently do in flash in  EDGE. I was excited when Edge first came out but lost interest when it became obvious that Adobe was not going to offer Edge and Muse to "suite owners" but only in their force feeding of the "Cloud". Better known as the "golden goose" for adobe stockholders and a never ending perpetual hole in the pocket for users. Anyway....
    I spent the last couple of days doing some of the tuts and messing with the UI. It's matured a lot since I was here last.
    I've been working on a flash site for a sports team where one of the pages is a player profile page where college recuriters and other interested parties can view recuriting relavent info/stats about players. This is how it works. While on the "Team" page a users clicks on  a button labled "Player Profiles" . (Animation) A "page" flies in and unfurls from the upper right corner (3d page flips effect created in AE played by flash as a frame SEQ). Once it lands filling most of the center of the screen there is a bright flash. As the brightness fades we see the "page" is a bordered box with a BG image of a ball field(End). (Animation) from behind the border in fly small pictures (player head shots with name and jersey number). They stream in and form a circle like a wagon train and the team logo zooms up from infinity to the center of the circle(End). As the user mouses over a player's pic it zooms up a little and gets brighter (like mouseover image nav thumbs for a image slider). If the user clicks on a player's head shot it flips over and scales up to become a text box with a scrollbar. The content of the box is a mix of images, static and dynamic text fields populated from data in an "player info data base" XML file, and some hyperlinks. It's all kept updated dynamicaly with current stats, info and images from the XML file. There is also a "PDF" button that allows the user to open/save/print a PDF of the player's profile (the PDF's are static files for now but the choice of which pdf to retrive is dynamicaly supplied via the XML file.
    So.... Is Edge now able to do something like this?  Would it need to be a collection of small animations? could these be "assembled" and connected as an asset in dreamweaver ?
    I thought I would approach this from the end (ie click on an image and display a box with dynamic TEXT fileds. ) since that is the most important part, ie displaying the dynamicaly updated profile info.  Sooooo....
    Can Edge display a scrolling text box with Images, static text, and html dynamic text in it??

  • Header text not responsive at smart phone size & BG question

    The header text doesn't fit into the view for a smart phone. I don't know how to correct that other than to change my width from 85% to 100% when at the smallest size (if that can be done). Help?
         I thought it would be better to ask this next question on a new thread but both needed the code so I'll add that here:
    The purse (& butterfly) images have an incomplete BG color. The partial upper BG color comes from div hover which really isn't a functional div. Since the image boxes are within the body but not a separate div I don't know how to get BG color (same as footer). help?

  • Hyphenation & text-align:justify in PDF's with CFDOCUMENT

    Hello everybody!
    We are using CF8.1 and are having problems of generating well designed PDF outputs with CFDOCUMENT. We would like to print out reports, which are hyphenated and have the text aligned. Example:
    This works fine:
    <html lang="en">
    <STYLE>p { width:260px;background-color:blue;-moz-hyphens: auto; -o-hyphens: auto; -webkit-hyphens: auto; -ms-hyphens: auto;  -hyphens: auto;text-align:justify}</STYLE>
    <P>Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer</P>
    </html>
    This won't:
    <CFDOCUMENT FORMAT="PDF">
    <html lang="en">
          <STYLE>p { width:260px;background-color:blue;-moz-hyphens: auto; -o-hyphens: auto; -webkit-hyphens: auto; -ms-hyphens: auto;  -hyphens: auto;text-align:justify}</STYLE>
          <P>Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer Haematodynamometer</P>
    </html>
    </CFDOCUMENT>
    Do you have any solutions on this topics? Are do I have to wait until CF11.
    Thanks in advance
    Matthias

    Now, the problem is that, while the client likes this, they don't like that the headers and footers are grayed out and the colors are not as vibrant in Word as the program part I created and saved as a PDF.
    They're being a bit impractical in their complaints, in fact they remind me of my Dad!  The final product is still fine.

    They also don't like that if we keep this as a Word document, all the text is editable.
    That's fair enough, the solution would be to make the text in the header and footer an image instead.

    So my question is, can I create a PDF that has the same features with the expandable text control boxes.  If I can, would you recommend InDesign to do this?
    No you can't.  I'm pretty sure you can't create a PDF with expandable boxes and I'm very sure that you can't create a PDF that will add pages with headers and footrs.  However you can create a PDF with basic fillable text boxes, they're called forms and you need Acrobat as well to do it, google it and you'll find plenty of info.

  • DW Uploads HTML Header only ??

    I have been using Dreamweaver MX2004 for a few years to
    maintain a school web site. It has always performed well but
    recently I find that when I upload an HTML and check it on the web
    site, I find that the file only contains the HTML header
    information!
    In order to test this I have produced a new, very basic HTML
    file in DW with only a single item of text in it, but this still
    appears on the web site as just the html header information.
    However, I can upload files using a basic FTP program
    (coffeecup) with no problems.
    Please help
    Dave

    Sure looks like they are set up the same.
    In DW, create a file with a nonsense name, and upload it.
    Then look at the
    files found in the /web/ folder. Do you see this nonsense
    named file there?
