  • Lotus Notes Repository

    Hi All,
        We are using EP6 SPS15.
I am trying to configure the lotus notes repository with the help of steps given in help.sap.com. After configuration of the same the repository prefix showing under the root directory but when i am trying to click on it its giving me the following error.
<b>System missing in landscape configuration for a Lotus Notes repository</b> You tried to access a Lotus Notes repository, but the system of the Lotus Notes repository is missing in the system landscape configuration. Contact your system administrator.
The strange thing is that i have done the same config successfully on EP6 SPS14. But no luck in SPS15.
            What would be the problem?
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Hi
Will you please check whether you have followed following  and do not forget to give points
Lotus Notes Integration With SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0
    (Process description)
These documents describe the entire process of integrating lotus domino server with enterprise portal server to leverage the usage of lotus notes within the portal framework.
    Step1: Create a System
o     Choose System Administration&#61664;System configuration&#61664;System Landscape&#61664;Portal Content&#61664;Content Provided by SAP. Right click on collaboration and then choose New From Par&#61664;System.
o     Select com.sap.netweaver.col.app.gw and choose next.
o     Select a server (lotus notes) and then choose next.
o     Enter the System Name and ID (for ex lotus) and choose next and then finish.
o     Enter System Aliases by choosing system Alias from the display drown list.
o     Enter the system Alias in the alias field and choose add and then save.
    Step II: Create E-Mail Transport
&#61607;     The email transport defines the SMTP server and other configuration required for sending e-mails. To configure an e-mail transport choose
    &#61607;     System Administration&#61664;System Configuration&#61664;Knowledge Management&#61664;Collaboration&#61664;GroupWare Transports&#61664;Mail Transport
&#61607;     SMTP Sever: The address of the SMTPServer for sending e-mails
&#61607;     Sent Messsages: You specify the folder on the server where the sent e-mail is to be   store: -Sent on Lotus domino Server.
&#61607;     System Alias name: Alias that was defined for the groupware server in system configuration.
    Step III: Check E-Mailing Service
This is a global service that is required for sending e-mails and which can be   located by choosing System Administration&#61664;System configuration&#61664;Knowledge Management&#61664;Content Management&#61664;Global services&#61664;Mailing Service. This service needs to be active and an email transport must already have been created.
    Lotus Domino Transports
The lotus domino server provides java libraries for the posting and retrieval of information servlets running on the domino server can make use of these java libraries to query the domino database for information. The Functionality is based on java servlets and runs on the lotus domino server. The java servlets need to be deployed on all connected lotus domino Servers. The transport consists of two parts
&#61607;     Java transport that runs on the portal server (LDS-P) and is deployed automatically on installation
&#61607;     Java servlet that runs on domino server (LDS-D) and needs to be installed on every lotus server in the landscape.
        The Process flow is
1.The Java-transport makes an HTTP(s) call to the servlet on the domino server and user credentials are passed.
2.The servlet retrieves the data from the server.
3.The data is retrieved to the java transport on the portal.
    Installation of LDS-D Components
To access the users database (.nsf) the LDS-D component must be installed on the same domino server as that on which the database in question is available. If users are distributed among multiple Domino Servers, install the component on each of the servers. Alternately you can set up one Domino server with replication that host all portal domino users.
1.Locate the LDS-d component shipped with lotus transport.
The components can be found in<irj>\root\WEB-INF\PORTAL\PORTALAPPS\com.sap.netweaver.coll.appgw.translotus-api.jar.
2.Copy the com.sap.netweaver.coll.appgw.translotus-api.jar file to the lotus servlet folder as defined in the Lotus server configuration. For examplec:\Lotus\domino\Data\Servlet.Create this servlet folder if it does not yet exist.
3 Using the Lotus administrator Client update the domino server document (Current server document) in the section Internet protocols&#61664;Domino Web Engine&#61664;Class path with above jar file path for e.g. C:\Lotus\Domino\Data|domino\servlet\Coll.appl.gw.translotus-api.jar.
4.Restart the lotus domino’s HTTP Tasks.
Configuration of Cache  is very important
    Hope this helps you

  • Lotus Notes connector: Error while crawling LOB contents

    Hi all,
I am trying to configure Lotus Notes connector on SP search. We have successfully followed the Randy Rempel's blog on
test environment. No problem to search lotus notes content.
In production environment, we've followed the same procedure but we are facing the following problem. During the full crawl, the below error is thrown
Error while crawling LOB contents. ( Error caused by exception: Microsoft.BusinessData.Infrastructure.BdcException The shim execution failed unexpectedly - Exception has been thrown by
the target of an invocation..: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail] An unexpected error occurred in the Lotus Notes protocol handler while processing the URL
We have forced Lotus Notes Connector to be more verbose, without success.
    Any help will be appreciated
    David

Reset the index and re-crawl. That usually claers it
If you are using NTLM authentication, then make sure that you specified the PassThrough authentication for crawling
Probably you need to debug the BDC code that underlies the external content types.
can you Check the permission that you have set for the lotus notes domino databases? Was the content access account added to the local administrator group?
If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

Did you do any modification on this environment these days? Eg: migration from OIM 9.x? If so, probably you removed certain supporting classes used by the adapter framework of this connector.
    I hope this helps,

  • Urgent: Lotus Notes and TREX

    Hi,
We are planning to use SAP’s TREX to search for word documents and ppts embedded within Lotus Notes. However, we have a couple of queries regarding our requirement and would appreciate your help.
    1) Is it possible to use the TREX server for indexing documents within Lotus Notes without an Enterprise Portal platform (For Ex., Is it possible to set TREX as the default search engine of Lotus Notes?)?
If the above is not feasible then please read requirement 2:
    2) We are currently running Lotus Domino 6.5 and the portal platform is NW 04, SP15. I understand that there was a limitation of not being able to connect the portal with any Lotus Notes repository having version greater than 5.0.8. Does this restriction still exist?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and suitably rewarded.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vibhu

    Hello Vibhu,
regarding 1) in the notes client, the search button actually contains a dropdown. This dropdown list may also contain HTTP URLs (e.g. in the standard R6 client you find AIL, Altavista and some other search engines linked). You may think of adding the TREX URL also there
regarding 2) please use the KM repository manager by Conet for doing so. To do so, please take a look athe the portal Content portfolio here on SDN or direcly access the business packgage at:
    https://www2.iviewstudio.com/sdn/detail_view/index.cfm?action=package_information&CatalogSet=Vendor%20Content&ItemID=17344&CFID=7410541&CFTOKEN=5471887

  • How to migrate documents from Lotus Notes to Stellent Repository

    Hi All,
I want to migrate almost 5000 documents from Lotus Notes to Stellent Repository. Is there any way to achieve this functionality?
how to integrate both the things please let me know.
    Regards,
    Vishal Shah

    Hey Vishal,
    one approach could be
    1) fetch all the documnets and metadata (wat ever you need) from the Lotus Notes repository using java+Lotus API 2) write a BatchLoad script file using the metadata you have. And then start the batch loader.
    other approach could be to
    1) fetch all the documnets and metadata (wat ever you need) from the Lotus Notes repository using java+Lotus API
    2) Checkthem in using the WSDLs.
There is one thing thought that even i would like to know its which of the two will perform better ?
    regards,
    sapan

  • Message error "Define an assignment set in the runtime repository"

    Hello Experts,
I'm creating a new component and when I'll assign the view created to be displayed in the screen the follow message appears "Define an assignment set in the runtime repository".
    Best regards,
    Caíque Escaler

    Hi,
I am sure that when you Click on your view in component workbench, this message must be flashing up.
Correct me if i am wrong.
Now first thing is its not an error but an info message.
There is nothing wrong in your developments. It just the fact that just creating a view does not mean we can use it. To use it, you must assign it to either a Window or a View Set or an Overview page in Runtime repository and thats why system tell you that you must do the view assignment.
Go to the runtime repositoy and assign the view. Now whether it to be assigned to a viewset, overviewpage or window, depends upon your requirement. If your view is Assignement Block, you will attach it to an overviewpage . If its a separate edit/display view then you may attach it in existing viewset or Main Window.
You can also create an empty window and attach your view to it..Ultimately view assignment completely depends upon what you want the view to be used as.
    Hope it solves your problem.
    Regards,
    Suchita

  • Error:When adding RDC runtime library (Crystal report XI R2) to Lotus notes

Background : We have reporting feature implemented in one of lotus notes application using crystal reports 6 (OCX) and as Crystal report is going to be upgraded to CR XI version in my organisation, we need to implement the same using RDC component available in crystal XI . we have installed Crytal report XI R2 - SP 6 version for testing the integration.
we are  referring a document available on SAP web site(attached below) that illustrates the steps required to integrate the Crystal Reports®  Report Designer Component into a Lotus® Dominou2122 application.  http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/509b02de-a81e-2b10-f598-822b6d6f2024?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Steps which have been outlined for adding runtime library in lotus domino application is shown below:-
    1. In Domino Designer, add a Form to the application.
    2. In the programmeru2019s pane, go to the (Declarations) handler of the Form and enter:
Dim App As Variant,    Dim Rep As Variant
    3. Select Create | Object and select the u201CControlu201D radio button in the u201CCreate Objectu201D dialog box that comes up. From the list of controls, select u201CCrystal Report Viewer Control.u201D This adds the control to the Form.
    4. Click on the control and select Edit | Properties. In the u201CAppletu201D properties dialog, select the u201CSize object to fit windowu201D radio button and then close the properties dialog.
We are getting an error message while trying to add 'Crystal Report Viewer Control' control (illustated in Step 3 above) in the lotus notes form . Error message which we get is 'An error has occured while processing a request on an object'.
Alternatively , we created the object of Crystal Report Viewer on lotus notes form by adding viewer object file (Crviewer.dll) from the file system  after selecting the u201CObject from a fileu201D radio button in the u201CCreate Objectu201D dialog box and added following code in the postopen event of lotus notes form .
    Set m_Viewer = Source.GetObject("Crystal Report Viewer Control")
    Set App = CreateObject("CrystalRuntime.Application")
    Set Rep = App.OpenReport(u201Cc:lotus
    otes
    ep.rptu201D)
    Set m_Viewer.ReportSource = Rep
Again, when lotus notes form is opened , it gives error 'Variant does not contain object' at 'Set m_Viewer.ReportSource = Rep' .
Can any one suggest us any workaround or if iit is not possible in CR XI R2 into a Lotus® Dominou2122 application. Also, can any one provide us sample code if CR 2008 version can be integatred with lotus notes.

I believe, Lotus was never a "supported" development platform, though it did work - at one time or another. Eventually it did not and you are at that point. I think it was CR 10 where it started to be impossible to add the viewer to Lotus. This was never fixed and we never did find out if this was a Lotus thing or a CR thing.
Re. CR 2008 and Lotus. The RDC has been retired in CR 2008, so no luck there either for you. The only SDKs available in CR 2008 are for .NET and Java.

  • OIM 11.1.1.5.4, Lotus Notes 8.5.1 update AlternativeName/Language error

    Hello experts!
We have faced issue with OIM and Lotus Notes integration.
    Here is configuration:
    OIM host:
    OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
    Weblogic: 10.3.5.0
    SOA: 11.1.1.5.0
    OIM: 11.1.1.5.4
    Lotus Notes host:
    OS: SUSE Linux 2.6.16.60-0.21-default
    Lotus Notes: 8.5.1
For integration, we used OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 9.0.4.12.0 because:
    1. In OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 9.0.4.14.0 documentation described bug 11693279, that provisioning fails if you update the Alternate Full Name, Alternate Full Name Language.
    2. In OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 11.1.1.5.0 documentation there is nothing about provisioning or updating user's the Alternate Full Name, Alternate Full Name Language fields.
So, we have configured Lotus connector according to documentation, but when we trying to update the Alternate Full Name, Alternate Full Name Language fields of provisioned user's account, update Alternate Full Name or Alternate Full Name Language task failed with the following error:

We can't figure out why we get "Notes error: An improperly formed name was encountered" error, so experts, please adwise!
P.S. As said before, in OIM Lotus Notes/Domino connector version 9.0.4.14.0 documentation described bug 11693279, which is matching exactly to our problem, could it be that documentation for previous connector version (9.04.12.0) lacks information about this bug?
