HI
I had installed mountain lion on my MBP 13" early 2012, but it has lots of issue, when i tryed to up date to 10.8.1 it shows the error "OS X update cannot be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update"
if i run the software update nothis is showing, current os version is 10.8This did not work for me.
Note, that at one point the Apple developer knew exactly what the problem was and decided not to let us know. If we were tole what the problem was we woud have an idea of how to proceed. -
Hello everyone,
I just purchased MBP 2.6 Ghz running Lion 10.7.3 and I am trying to install the Combo Update 10.7.4.
After I launch the installer at the Destination Select step I get this message:
Mac OS X Update Combined can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirement for this update.
The sharing and permission on Macintosh HD are "Read & Write" for system, wheel and everyone.
Please Help

If it's a new MacBook Pro (2012), you have to update in > Software Update. They need a special version -
I am getting this message: You cannot install Security Update 2011-002 on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update?
is there a way to install this update?Hello
More information would be useful, for example which Mac OS are you running.
On the left menu item About this Mac provides useful information.
Also did you use Software Update to determine the update?
Using Software Update can ensure you download and install the correct package for your particular Mac and OS version. -
I've recently installed Mavricks on my iMac and Mail went completely rouge on me. Tried switching to using Gmail directly but it's a terrbile user experience so I decided to install the new Mail update for Mavricks but have been geting this message. "This volume does not meet the requirements for this update"? My hardrive has 791GB available.
Hi Allan,
I thought I did explain it, but sorry if that wasn't clear.
I get the little pop-up alert that tells me I have a new messages (Shows the sender and an abreviated version of the message) but those actual messages sometimes don't appear in my inbox until up to an hour later.

If you have the Late 2012 Mac mini, it requires a special OS X update that it's not available. Wait until Apple releases this update -
10.5.7 This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.
First, 10.5.7 is not showing up in software update. I downloaded both the delta and combo 10.5.7 updates and they both give me "This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." I've done all the requisite stuff, permissions, volume check, reset PRAM, etc. I've downloaded the updates several times, and they worked on my 2008 iMac and 2007 Macbook Pro, so I know they work. I've searched and searched and can't find a resolution. It's as if there is some signature written to my boot volume that is preventing this update. Applecare was of no help either. Any ideas?

I have the mac with following specs I need to update the OS X 10.9.4. I tried OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update to install manually but it says "OS X update can't be installed on this disk This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." Please help me.
Click here and run the combo updater. The one you previously downloaded requires 10.9.3.

Just opened box and started using Mac Mini (OS X 10.8.1), Late 2012, Core i5. When trying to update iLife product, was given message that update to 10.8.2 was required. Tried to update, but was given message that Volume does not meet the requirements.
Your computer requires a special Mountain Lion version that it's not available right now, so you have to wait until Apple launches it again

my PowerBook-G4 operating system software - Mac OS X 10.5.8 - does not meet minimum requirements for downloading the latest version of FireFox ... is there an UpDate to a newer version of my op.sys. software, Or, what is a better choice of an UpGrade to a newer/different op.sys. software ?
Thanx! The best maintained PowerPC browser at the moment is TenFourFox:
http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
It is a Mac port of a newer version of FF thatn any PowerPC Mac can support natively. It runs, looks and feel like FF.
I found some add-ons that helped TFF with speed issues. Pleae see my post in another PPC forum:

Securtity Update 2008-006 failed, now volume does not meet the requirements
After observe by 15 minutes that the progress bar did not advance, I made restart. Now attempt to install the update manualy and the installer says "You cannot install Security Update 2008-006 (Intel) on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." And the preferences of applied Software Update don't list the 2008-006.
Please help me. Thanks a lot.
RE:Király
Log in to an admin account and then try going to /Library/Receipts/boms and moving this file to the Desktop:
com.apple.pkg.update.security.2008.006.bom
Then try running Software Update again.
RE: Kijote
No, I don't have luck. The last receipt that I have its com.apple.pkg.update.security.2008.005.bom.
Thank you!Can you download the 10.5.5 combo, and reinstall it?

OS X update will not intall due to "Volume does not meet the requirements"
I don't know why my system doesn't meet the requirments to update Mac OS X 10 4.4? I get an error saying:
"Intalling this software requires 156MB of space.
You cannot install Mac OS X update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
I have 79.6GB of HD space. Am I not intalling correctly??? I have 1G of ram...Maybe I already have an updated version of MacOSX 10.4.4.
How do I check what my current operating system is?I also have this problem.
I've tried both the delta and combo installers and get the same message. I am 100% certain I have the correct installers because I checked the hashes. Also, the word "server" appears nowhere. I only just updated from Panther as well. I've tried repairing permissions. It doesn't even show up in software update.
Any other advice?

Mid 2007 iMac video card does not meet minimum requirements for latest iMovie update
Tried updating to the latest version of iMovie and I get the following message. "Your computer's video card does not meet the minimum system requirements." I haven't had any luck finding what those requirements are. What are the minimum requirements?
Thanks.I'm having the same issue here too. I'm using a mid 2007 iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of SDRAM and ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB.
What bugs me is that the update shows up but you are not allowed to install it. Either one of two things needs to happen.
#1 apple allows users to hide the update but still let you know that there is a hardware incompatibality
#2 don't let the update show up at all -
I installed Mountain Lion in my IMac and now, some times, when I start up my mac it looks with a black screen and white text. I'm really worry about it, can somebody help me?
Don't worry, this is probably just Verbose Mode. It's perfectly harmless. If you're not specifically invoking it, than it's probably down to an unwanted setting in NVRAM. See this article on resetting NVRAM if it continues to bother you.
