Based on some conditions...inside the VL01/VL02n transaction...i have to trigger Post goods receipt...
when document is saved inside user exit..
How can i do this

I am not sure if it will be a good idea to create the next document from a user exit of the Sales order. The reason being, this document would not have been created / changed, before the other document is started to be created.
At least in the case of CHANGE you will have a Sales order number that you can pass to creat the GOODS RECEIPT document. In case VL01N, you wouldn't even have the order number and without that you can process the following document.
I suggest you write a program that can scheduled, which will SELECT orders (based on some criteria) and then it will go and create GOODS RECEIPT documents for the selected ones.

Please help me understand this better. What I want here is to share some of the database processes with the any other server/servers so that this unix server is saved from crashing. Please provide some documents with which I can implement this.

But the most important thing is identifing what has caused it. Is quantity of users increased? IS Your system has hung and the users started to opening more then one session?
Please help me understand this better. What I want here is to share some of the database processes with the any other server/servers so that this unix server is saved from crashing. Please provide some documents with which I can implement this.If Your system has any kind of problem, RAC won't correct it at all. But You can use RAC to scaleout Your system. Creating a cluster database and dividing the load across all servers of Your cluster.

actually my scenaio having three systems two sender systems and one target system
                                             SAP(Source System1)
                                             KDatabase(Source system2)-Database system
                                             DB(target system)-- Database system
First step starts trigger in XI------
---then XI fecthes the date of the last successful SAP data update in the DB(target System)- (That means XI Fecthes data from DB(target system)
---and XI call RFC to SAP(Source System1) and last sucessful date updated in SAP and get result(response) from SAP
---Now this response pass to same DB (target sytem).
This RFC response pass to two tables one "H_Data" and "P_Data" If data is successuful stored in the two tables automatically update the "Sap_log" table with the date and status fields. If not successful stored in the two tabels it throws the error message.
after update the SAP data second process witll start again
XI fecthes the date of the last successful Kdatabase data update in the DB(target System)- (That means again XI fecthes data from DB(target system).
---after that XI sends data to Kdatabase based upon on the condition, Condition:XI selects all datasets of the Kdatabase view, that contain at least one modification date younger than the last successful Kdatabase data update.
--after "Kdatabase" sends the response to XI and XI put this data into the DB(target system)
--The "Kdatabase" response pass to one tables one "K_Data" If data is successuful stored in that table automatically update the "K_log" table with the date and status fields. If data not successful stored in that tabel it throws the error message.
This is process .

How to Trigger the process chain using Excel Files?

Hi All,
We have 9 excel files(4 master data attributes and text files and 1 transaction file).
Everyday new records will be added into the excel sheets and we need to trigger all these files into the bw server through process chain automatically . As we have all these Excel files in the desktop.
Please suggest how to achieve this task?

Hi,
You cannot load flat files to BW automatically using process chains.
You have to upload them to Apllication server and point your Infopackage to the directory path of the flat file in application server. then process chains can load it.

Event is not getting triggered in the process chain

Hi,
We had a process chain which was triggered by an Event, and it was running fine until few days ago. So I removed the chain from schedule and re-scheduled it again with these details:
File load: every 2 hrs
Process chain setting
Immediate tab: start immediately
After event: "event name" and "parameter name" and periodic job: ticked
I activated the chain and scheduled it. But the event is not triggered and the chain does not start. I even tried to trigger the process chain manually in sm64 but the process chain did not start.
Can someone please tell me steps to automate the event triggering and also any setting that should be taken care off in the info package and the process chain.

Hello Ram, to start your Process Chain by an event, then you need to maintain the Start process of the process chain.
Select "Direct Scheduling".
In the Change Selections, press After Event. Put your event name and parameter (if any). Also click on Periodic job.
Press Save. Then Activate and Schedule your process chain. All your processes should turn green.
To verify, right-click on the Start process and select Displaying Scheduled Job(s).... You should see a job called BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER in a Released status. You can click on the job and look at the start conditions.
When you go to trigger the event, use the same event name and parameter (if any) as in the start condition. Your process chain will then execute. To insure, use RSPC to view your process chain and press the Logs icon (last one at the top).

CLR trigger - handling multiple inserts at the same time

Hi
I've developed a CLR trigger which operates on inserts performed on a staging table. The trigger implements some business logic and then inserts or updates a record in a target table. Whether an insert or update is performed depends on whether
a record with the same ID already exists in the target (i.e. a select * from target where ID = 123).
This works fine in most scenarios, but occasionally I am getting duplicates in the target table and have noticed that this seems to occur when inserts on the staging table happen at exactly the same time (i.e. multiple inserts for the same ID at
the same time). In this situation duplicates are created in the target table because at the time of the inserts, no record with that ID exists in the target table (i.e. the select returns no records), therefore a new record is created for each.
Is there a known way to deal with this scenario? For example, would locking the target table on insert result in the subsequent selects against the target table waiting until the target table had been updated, therefore the select would return a record
for the given ID.
I didn't really want to lock the whole target table on insert, because there are potentially other users reading that table (selects) and these would also have to wait for the insert to complete.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on how to deal with this and avoid duplicates in the target table. I'm unable to change the way the data is coming in to the staging table, so my trigger code must deal with the above scenario.

First if you do not want any duplicate values in a column (or combination of columns) you should add a constraint to ensure this is never possible. A
unique index
like this should do this trick.
CREATE UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [IX_yourIndexName] ON [dbo].[YourTableName]

You can then add a try/catch block in your trigger code, if you get an exception based on this index then the record was created by another executing instance of this trigger and in that case you should do an update (or not, not sure what the rest of your
logic is) in your catch block. This is the easiest solution and does not involve table locks. The only drawback is the first one to commit the insert will win and you have no guarantee which process or data set that will be. Also i have no idea how big the
table is, how frequently changes are made, and what the data type is so you should
keep this in mind when creating your index so you don't run into unexpected high index fragmentation which can lead to performance problems when executing updates and inserts.
You could also create a
named transaction with scope serializable around your insert/update block and execute your reads using a
NOLOCK hint
which should allow them to retrieve uncommitted writes and not create a long wait. The downside is is that the data might not be 100% accurate depending on if a transaction fails or not if there happens to be an update at the same time as a select but maybe
this is not a big deal to the calling code.

I am getting an error while collecting my process chain in a tranpsort request.I have to transport the request from DEV to QA system.
When in RSA1--->transport connection i drag & drop the chain from left to right side pane then the Error occurs.

i though it was the problem of patch level sap note(966131).
Accordingly i tried collecting process chain in the request where the patch level is high(24).But same error is seen.
I have activated chain again & then tried collecting the request i the process chain.But did not solve the error.
I have to collect Process chain in a transport request.Can you help me out to solve the problem?

Error while executing the Process chain

Hi Friends,
The process chain that I scheduled is getting failed at the Infopackage loading stage.
On checking the diplay message, I found the following log:
Cannot stage requested data for datasource
Error in source system
I activated the datasource in source system, then replicated the same and tried to load data.
But the issue remains the same.
I checked in RSA7. The status corresponding to this datasource is in yellow status.
Can I delete this entry and try again?
Please suggest.

1) Whenever we are loading the Master Data for the first time, it creates SIDs. If system is unable to create SIDs for the records in the Data packet, we can get this error message.
2) If the Indexes of the cube are not deleted, then it may happen that the system may give the caller 70 error.
3)Whenever we are trying to load the Transactional data which has master data as one of the Characteristics and the value does not exist in Master Data table we get this error. System can have difficultly in creating SIDs for the Master Data and also load the transactional data.
4) If ODS activation is taking place and at the same time there is another ODS activation running parallel then in that case it may happen that the system may classify the error as caller 70. As there were no processes free for that ODS Activation.
5) It also occurs whenever there is a Read/Write occurring in the Active Data Table of ODS. For example if activation is happening for an ODS and at the same time the data loading is also taking place to the same ODS, then system may classify the error as caller 70.
6) It is a system error which can be seen under
the Status tab in the Job Over View.

" If the Master Data is getting loaded for the first time then in that case we can reduce the Data Package size and load the Info Package. Processing sometimes is based on the size of Data Package. Hence we can reduce the data package size and then reload the data again. We can also try to split the data load into different data loads
If the error occurs in the cube load then we can try to delete the indexes of the cube and then reload the data again.
If we are trying to load the Transactional and Master Data together and this error occurs then we can reduce the size of the Data Package and try reloading, as system may be finding it difficult to create SIDs and load data at the same time. Or we can load the Master Data first and then load Tranactional Data
If the error is happening while ODS activation cause of no processes free, or available for processing the ODS activation, then we can define processes in the T Code RSCUSTA2.
If error is occurring due to Read/Write in ODS then we need to make changes in the schedule time of the data loading.
Once we are sure that the data has not been extracted completely, we can then go ahead and delete the red request from the manage tab in the InfoProvider. Re-trigger the InfoPackage again.
Monitor the load for successful completion, and complete the further loads if any in the Process Chain.
6.Idoc not processed completely.
Here the request remains yellow (in process) and with the same details (as seen in the details tab of the monitor) for an abnormally long time. Many-a-times, the port for communication is not open and re-starting the load helps. For long running jobs, it may not be advisable to restart the extraction

If you want to move a file from a folder to another folder, I think you could get the sourcePath and TargetPath. The code below shows a simple demo:

Schedule the Process Chain automatically in BW

Hi SDN Guru's,
I have an urgent requirement in BW. I want to run the Process Chain automatically in BW when the job for the deltas in R/3 are completed.
I know that in BW we can trigger the process chain by the background job only by giving the date and time or after the event and after the job.
But my requirement is the process chain should automatically be triggered in BW once the R/3 delta job is run and completed and the delta records are updated in RSA7.
Can any body please let me know how we can do this as this is the urgent requirement for me.
Please let me know how and where we need to write the code or make the settings for satisfying my requirement.

Why the process chain always run twice when triggered from R3?

I run a program from R3 by calling the remote function 'RSSM_EVENT_RAISE' on BW to trigger an event and in turn the event on BW bring up the running of a process chain. But whenever I run the program on R3 to bring up the running of the process chain, I find the process chain always run twice at the same time. Does anybody knows the answer?
And also I would like to know the functionalities of the two picture buttons "Activate" and "Activate and Schedule" in process chain. In which case the "Activate" button should be used and in which case, the "Activate and Schedule" button should be used? If we click the Start variant of a process chain, then click "Change Selections" button which bring up the window "Start Time" where the buttons "Immediate", "Date/Time", "After job", and "After event" are listed at the top. If we modify at any of the above buttons, then after save this modification, we will have to click "Activate and Schedule" button to make it work, right?

Kevin, make sure there is only one job scehduled for the Start Process of your Process Chain. If you bring up the Process Chain (not the log view), right click on the Start Process and select "Displaying Scheduled Job(s)...". There should only be one scheduled job with name BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER. If there is more than one, then when triggered, it would execute more than once at the same time. If there is only one job, then maybe your R/3 program is triggering the event more than once?
As far as the Start conditions for the Start Process, it works off the same principals as a scheduled job. These start conditions determine when or how the Process Chain is to be executed. You also have control over frequency. These start conditions determine the scheduling of the Start Process of your Process Chain.
When you schedule a Process Chain, a separate scheduled job is created for "each" process in the Chain. BW controls the triggering of these jobs based upon how the processes in the Chain are linked. All the jobs associated with Process Chains have strict naming conventions and all begin with BI_PROCESS_... If you use SM37 to view all jobs that begin with BI_PROCESS_ you will find alot of scheduled jobs associated with your process chains. Each job represents one of the processes within your process chains.

Another tip might be to trigger the event manually in BW (use tx SM64). If the process chain executes twice again, then maybe there is a separate scheduled job in BW that triggers the process chain that is triggered by the same event as the start process of the process chain.

Issue with the process chain?

Hi All,
I have a process chain triggerred by an event.I had this transported into Q box.After moving it to Q i did click on acativate and schedule icon.When i triggered the event in Sm64.The process chain triggerred successfully.The next day when i tried to trigger the event ,the process did nothing,its only after i actiavted the process chain and triggrred the event the process.
I know the process chain should be good after ictivated once when moved into a new system.Can anybody tell me how to resolve my issue of activating the PC whenever i wnat to trigger it.What i am i missing here?

Ther are two basic things
--> In order that your PC responds to your "Event & Parameter", maintain the same and PC should be in scheduled status
--> the periodic check box schedules again once the current run completes. i.e makes ready the PC for the next run whenever the next "event and parameter" gets triggered by any means ( you no need to activate and schedule again)

How to trigger an ABAP program in a Process chain

Hello Forum,
1. In a process chain, if a program fails, how can we re-run it?
2. If the process preceeding the ABAP program fails, how can we start the program?
3. If an Infospoke fails in a process chain, how can we trigger that?

Hi,
1. U have to first check whats the reason for the failure. check in the monitor screen details button, the error message will be displayed, check the error, correct it. and to proceed with further right click on the subsequent process use Repeat option , the loads will get continue.
2. same here, if it fails check the reason, sometimes if two parallel process trying to access the same program Lock may occur, stop one process, once its done start the second process, use the transaction code SA38>select ur ABAP program, the corresponding variant->this is for running the ABAP program in the backgroud..if u want to run direct means Select the Process types Under the general services u find an ABAP program
3. same here too u should find the reason why it fails, and rectify the error, and use the repaet option to proceed with further.
