Triggering signals for a servo

I wanted to connect a servo to labview using a bnc connector. At first, I had to change the connection from 3 pin to bnc and after doing this, I finally managed to get a signal sent to the servo but I do not know how to control these signals to let the servo perform in the way I want. can anyone help with this?

You can't expect any help if you don't provide details about your system. You didn't even tell what type of servo you're using so how can anyone possibly answer you???

Do the triggering signals for the DALSA CL-P1 4096 camera work properly?

(Since I wasn't sure if anyone had seen my additions to the question "How do the DALSA CL-P1 4096 attributes correspond to the i/o trigger signals?" 6/3/2002, this is an addition to that question.)
We are using a DALSA CL-P1 4096 camera with the NI IMAQ PCI-1422 image acquisition board, and we believe the signals are not triggering properly on the "Controlled" integration setting. All images are coming out black, but all signals are present. What we, as well as DALSA's support believe the problem is is that the PRIN signal goes low before LVAL goes high. Attached are the timing diagrams that we are getting and which we should be getting (provided by DALSA support). We would like to
know if there is anything you can do for us if this is actually a problem with how the board is triggering the control signals (i.e. if there is a patch you can provide us, or a way to program how the board triggers the signal). Thanks for all your help.

I was wondering why I hadn't heard from you and when I looked at your previous question I saw that my last post didn't make it to the page. But I see what you mean from the timing diagrams that you attached and we should be able to extend the length of time that the PRIN is high so that it doesn't go low until after the LVAL goes high. However, to do this it means changing the camera file (.icd) for that camera and that would probably be best while talking on the phone if possible so that we make sure that it all works correctly. Just go to www.ni.com/ask and generate a phone support request and it will give you a toll-free number to call. I'll be on the lookout for your call.

How to use startscan signal for triggering for E-series DAQ

Hi, I want to collect the engine cylinder pressure data with a PXI-6070E DAQ card and BEI Encoder. I want to use the TDC signal as trig1, and crank angle signal as startscan for triggering. Could anybody give me an example or suggestions about doing this in labview. I cannot find any example that uses startscan signal for trigging. Thanks.

There is an example VI that is installed with LabVIEW. It is called "Cont Acq&Graph ExtScanClk D-Trig.vi" and it is located in the following LLB.

"triggered" signal?

I'm using PCI 5112 high speed digitizer and PCI 6713 to setup a signal acquisition system. I need to turn off a switch (AO output to 6713)as soon as a signal is picked out by edge trigger (5112). The problem is, I don't see a "triggered" signal output in any NI-scope VIs. Is there anyway I can let 5112 send out a "triggered" signal to Labview so I can use software trigger to send out AO signal to 6713? This sounds like a pretty easy job but I'm kind of stuck here. Any suggestions highly welcome!
ps, I found that 5112 can output trigger to PFI line and 6713 actually accept PFI trigger. But do I need a physical connection from PFI port of
5112 to PFI connector in 6713 (SCB-68 box)? Is PFI a software line or hardware line?

I found a small SMA connector and connected PFI port with 6713 card interface (i.e. SCB-68) box. Also I have ordered RTSI cable from NI.
But then, when I tried to program PFI to transfer the trigger, I got error messages.
The message came from NIscope Configure Trigger Output.VI. No matter what trigger event and trigger output source I choose, it says:
Error occurred at: niScope Configure Trigger Output.vi
Driver Status: (Hex 0xBFFA0010)
Invalid value for parameter or property.
I don't even have the PFI connected. Is it possible that I need to "release the PFI line" after using it? Or somehow PFI is not supported by NI5112?
I have attached the VI below. Please give me some suggestions as the deadline is coming close.
Edit: I opened niScope Configure Trigger Output.vi and found that in "instrument handle" it only accept the following addresses:
ASRL10::INSTR
ASRL11::INSTR
ASRL1:INSTR
PXI2::0::INSTR
PXI2::2::INSTR

How can I record multiple signals for a long period of time?

Hi, everyone
I am new at labView I just recentlyl started using it. Right now I am working on this assignment
that I have to display en record six different signals comming up from a DAQ. so basically What I did
for my IV is placing a whileloop. Inside the while loop I set up the DAQ assistant and then I send that
to a split signal function in order to split the signas that are comming from the DAQ ( so those signals
are EMG1,EMG2, blood flow1, blood flow2, blood pressure, and AM stimulation) after I split the signals
I send each individual signals to a waveforme graph, but my problem is that I need to record those individual
signals for a long period of time every second for about 8 hours. so it will be really helpfull if someone can
guide me through this. Thanks

Hi,
With your while loop, you'd better use low-level VIs to write your data to a file. Please see attached...I've used text file function but if you need ta save a large amount of data, you may need to use binary file functions instead (nearly the same way to perform this whatever you chose text file or binary file function).

I have set up a simple custom HCM process and Form regarding Infotype TO CREATE AND CHANGE POSITION. I have checked the process and form consistency and it seems fine. Now when I run the process from HRASR_DT it generates a process number but it also gives an error workflow could not start.I get following error (SWIA log - Step history)

1) I have searched few SAP notes such as 1384961(Notes for 6.0.4) but our system is in higher level patch 6.0.5

Since you are on 605, the following note would be there in your system....use it to debug:

Theoretically yes. It will really depend on your situation. Please review the following Apple Support article to understand what is possible with the AirPort base stations and post back with any questions or help in setting up your extended network.

If it is turned on and your lock request is able to be fulfilled, a confirmation email will be sent to your Apple ID email address. There isn't any known way to bypass Activation Lock on your phone so no one will be able to use it. More information on Lost Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2700

How can I get 'sync' signals for sine wave out? [FPGA USB 7856R]

I'm Sean Ahn using NI 7856R, USB FPGA with LabVIEW 2014.
I'm trying to make 'sync' signals for sine wave of adjustable frequency, like general function generator's sync out.
I use sine waves whose frequency is feedback-congtrolled between 25~30 kHz and need sync signals of square wave.
Like [1] below, when I try resettng two wavefom-generators, sine and sync signals are not perfectly synchronized.
And everytime I adjust sine's frequency, the phase difference between sine and sync changes arbitrarily
In case of [2] using 'zero-crossing detector', I have severe jitter of sync signals not suitable as 'sync' signals for other parts.
Please, give me some help.

Here’s my issue. When I try to move any data between my PC and the iPad2 I receive an error message that states that “the [sync] session could not be started with the ipad, Please disconnect and reconnect the iPad and try again”
I have tried again and again by various methods etc . and all I get is the same message when I attempt to sync, backup or update the iPad.
I have tried the following AND FAILED:
Deselect all Apps, Music etc in iTunes, then attempt to sync
Disable and enable the iPad in device manager and restart itunes and try to sync again
Disable and enable Apple Mobile Device Services and sync/backup/update
Run iTunes as Administrator
Reboot all devices (iPad buy pressing two buttons at once)
Turn off all security and reboot and sync
Connect directly to internet without a router
Tried to sync with all wireless turned off and in airplane mode
Running iTunes Diagnostics...... nothing all test passes
Changing USB ports and cables
Removing my SIM card and rebooting and trying to syc
Trying to sync via wifi only
Turning off all icloud services
Uninstalling all Apple Software and reinstalling again
I am syncing to a 64bit PC running Win 7 Premium with all the latest updates, all firewalls off. WiFi and direct connect ethernet to Internet service with and without router.
I am trying to Sync an iPAD 2 running iOS version 5.1.1 (9B206)
I am trying to update from iOS 5.11 to 6.01 by using Itunes 11.0.0.16.3 in a USB or directly through the iPad via wifi.
Please help as everything I have tried has failed.

NXT-G block for HiTechnic Servo Controller

I'm trying to track down an NXT-G block for the HiTechnic Servo Controller. My son just purchased the controller at LEGO Ed but hasn't found a block for it. After a lot of searching, we did find a block for the HiTechnic DC Motor Controller ( http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1129/lang/en ) and was hopeful that a similar block for the servo controller would be available somewhere. He has spent quite a few years working with RoboLab and NXT-G with LEGO robots and felt that the combination of the NXT, servo controller, and NXT-G 2.0 control and data logging would be perfect for his project.

Ok, I made a Sub VI with it, and put together a simple program. When I try to download it to my NXT, it gives me the error "Cannot open a VI because it is password protected."
Any idea on how to fix this?

Is it save to use digital output as a digital input signal for another channel

Hi all,
I know this is a stupid question, but I do not have other signal generator by hand. So what I want to know is, can I use the digital output signal of my USB-6001 as an input signal for the same device but on other digital port? I did not try out directly because I do not want to burn the device down......

I do loop backs all the time, especially in my test systems as a way of making sure my signal is making it to the UUT pin. I typically throw in a 10k resistor just in case, but I have never had an issue.

Yes you can. All Ipad's are unlocked and can be used any where in the world. Buy the AT&T version which is GSM in other countries

Can my Airport Express be used to extend the signal for an iPad2

I am using a Linksys wired router as the beginning of my home network. There is an ethernet cable running from it through a wall to the Xbox 360 and an Airport Express serving as the base for the wireless network. I have an iBook on the other side of the wall and about 10 feet and an iMac about 20 feet with one wall in between. These two have some fluctuation in their signal but only between 4 bars and 3. I just got an iPad 2 and it is causing me grief because it struggles to maintain a connection just another 10 feet from the iBook. If I put it next to the iMac when it has full 4 bars the iPad gets maybe 2. The iPad has full bars if next to the router. That kind of defeats the purpose of buying an iPad. So, my question is how to rearrange the network so the iPad is happy in the living room where I mostly use it. I had considered moving the iMac and using it as a base station to free the Airport Express for other duty but where I want to move it is further away from the living room. Right now the Airport is wired to the router. Is this necessary for it to be a part of the network? I know I can use it to get music from iTunes to speakers but would that placement also work as a wireless extender? Would just buying another router for the Xbox location and putting the Airport there also be a better solution?

ladybastet, let's clean up some terminology. You should designate only one router for your network. At present that is the Linksys. Your wireless access point is the Express, and it gets its network connection from the Linksys. Is that correct?

Now that you know your Linksys is the router, is the above correct? Unless the Linksys is also a wireless access point, the iPad's proximity to it will not matter. Only its proximity to the device creating the wireless network is a factor. In your case, I believe that is the Express.

In the case of a wired router, yes.
I'm wondering if you have things configured properly, particularly if you have configured the iMac to share its network connection over AirPort. I'm even wondering if your iPad has unintentionally joined a neighbor's wireless network.

Using the iMac to share a wired Ethernet connection to create its own wireless network is certainly possible, but it is less than ideal. For one, the iMac would have to be powered on all the time.
You do not need or want another router.
It is impossible for me to be certain of your network environment (meaning, the size and configuration of your home, the proximity of competing wireless networks, the number of network devices, and the potential for interference) but you might be better off replacing the wired Linksys router with an AirPort Extreme. That would give you the ability to create a "roaming network" or to use your Express to extend the Extreme's wireless network. I think this would be the easiest solution, but given the uncertainly of your description this expense may not be necessary.
Much of my confusion stems from your original question: "Can my Airport Express be used to extend the signal for an iPad2" - the quick answer is yes, but a prerequisite question is, "what signal?" The only "signal" I can determine that may be relevant is the one created by the Express. Once we have the terminology fixed, perhaps we can fix what's wrong with your network.

If you have the ethernet option no soldering is involved avoiding the danger to grab the iron on the wrong side.
On page 14 in the first document it will mention a twisted cable will be all you need to connect to the unit.
Twisted cable will get in market! And Industrial bus cards for lab top too
