  • HAVING TROUBLE ACTIVATING ACROBAT X1 STANDARD

I have downloaded the product and when I open it up its saying the serial number is correct and valid but does not match any product on the computer.  The dropdown menu in the box does not list the appropiate software to help.  Can any body help

It sounds like you’re entering an upgrade serial number that requires a previous product to be installed or at least a serial number of a previous product to be entered.  Have you had Acrobat before or is this the first version you’ve ever purchased?

You must download and install the CS2 version provided by Adobe and you must use the new serial number provided by Adobe.

  • Trouble opening acrobate files with reader 10.1.7.

I have trouble opening acrobate files with reader 10.1.7. When I click  on the file to open it with adobe reader x, nothing happens. If I click  on Adobe Reader X icon, a message comes up: preparing to install. After  that, I can open a PDF, but only until the next reboot.

Something went amiss during the install. Windows keeps trying to finish the incomplete install every time Reader opens.
Use the Adobe Cleaner to completely remove Reader.
Download the offline installer and reinstall without a download manager

Having trouble with internet connections using my Apple G5 OSX 10.4.11. Attempts to upgrade FireFox or Safari results in being incompatible with with this system. Tried to locate earlier versions to replace upgraded incompatible software only to find that problems have worsened with crashing results. What should I do short of trashing this wonderful G5 and purchasing a new iMac which I really can't afford?
    Chuck's Dilema

    Hi Chuck,
TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
I'd avoid vesrion 24 though, as it no longer supports plug-ins like Flash.
SeaMonkey seems pretty fast also, with many options...
    http://www.seamonkey-project.org/
    http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/
Might also look into iCab & OmniWeb versions.
    Also...
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

Might be later ones around also... saw 11.3 I think.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
See in each Browser which version of Flash it thinks it has...

I am having trouble installing acrobat when I run the file, it comes up with a script error

    Hi Pat
Thanks for your email.  I was able to download and install this morning without any problems.  I uninstalled the old version yesterday and restarted my computer but still got errors.  However when I turned off last night, windows ran updates and that must of fixed the problem.  I also got rid of firefox and put of google chrome.  All to use Australia Posts click and send which wouldn't work because of an error with the plugin.  Thanks for your very quick reply, I appreciate your help.  Have a great day.  Best Regards Judy (moo2u2)

  • Getting this messg on Factime "could not sign in, check your network connection", but I have Wifi activated and working with internet??

Getting this messg on Factime "could not sign in, check your network connection", but I have Wifi activated and working with internet?? what can I do?

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi. Open Safari and see if it connects.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Is anyone having trouble with internet on the new macbook air and an old modem?

Is anyone having trouble with internet on the new macbook air using an old modem?
I live in NYC and have an old modem/router and keep getting kicked off the internet. I have time warner as my internet provider.

    Hello there adell723,
I suggest taking a look at this article we have named Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628?viewlocale=en_US.
Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly
Your Mac may not not stay connected to your Wi-Fi network reliably.
Your Mac may stop accessing the Internet during use.
    Solution
Use these steps if your computer disconnects from its Wi-Fi network unexpectedly.
Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference. If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.See Potential sources of wireless interference for more information about interference and solutions.
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router or ISP. In that case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.
If you have Mac OS X 10.8.4 Mountain Lion installed then I would recommend using Wireless Diagnostics tool which is on your computer already.
Here is the article for it and how to use it to assist with wifi connectivity issues.

  • Why am I having trouble with Internet connect?

I have just set up a broadband connection using a USB modem on my phone line. I have to reconnect each time I wake the computer from Sleep as the Modem gets its power supply through the USB port. Sometimes it takes several attempts to establish a connection. I have checked the configuration (several times). Is the problem most likely to be:
    a) With Internet Connect ?
    b) With my ISP?
    C) With the modem?
    G4 ibook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    G4 ibook

    My guess, the modem.
It's probably taking some time for the USB modem to power up, perform its startup tests, load its configuration and be ready to respond to the network.
It's one of the reasons I never recommend USB DSL routers.
If the modem supports direct power (vs. being powered by the USB line) you can try using that - at least that way the modem won't power down and need to do its whole startup process again. Either that or replace the USB modem with an ethernet-based one that won't have this problem.

  • Offline Activation problems with Photoshop CS6 - ver 13_LS16

I have a computer that cannot be connected to the internet.
Adobe advises in its support pages under Offline Activation a number of steps to activate the software.
    Step 1 is
    1. Follow the installation or product launch screens until you see a link that says "I cannot connect to the internet" or "Having trouble connecting to the internet". Click the link and follow the instructions on the subsequent screen to initiate offline activation. Instructions there will tell you how to generate a Request Code.
However, version 13_LS16 of Photoshop which I just downloaded does NOT offer such a link during either installation or launching - just a continuous loop of "Retry" a connection.
Two calls to the Support Center met with incorrect information. Neither person knew that CS6 can be activated offline. In the past I have used tjhe Call Center successfully to exchane REQUEST Codes and RESPONSE CODES to install earlier versions of Photoshop. Clearly, the Call Center staff need training.
How do I get to a screen on this offline computer which allows me to generate the REQUEST CODE which is used for Offline Activation???

Phil I don't see the Photoshop CS6 registered under your account.  I would recommend contacting our support team directly at Contact Customer Care and verifying the serial number is valid and it is not an upgrade version.
If you continue to face difficulties you are welcome to private message me the serial number but it would be more expedient to contact our support team directly.
I would recommend having the serial number reviewed to ensure their will be no activation difficulties.  Please also be aware that the offline activation process does still require a computer with Internet access.  This can be a smartphone, tablet, a simple web browser capable of secure http connections.  The offline activation process is as follows:
    Launch the product.
At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet.
Click Offline Activation and click Generate a Response Code.
    Write down the Request Code.
Switch to an online computer and navigate to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.
    Click Offline Activation.
Sign in with your Adobe ID.
Enter your Request code and click Generate.
    Write down the Response code.
Switch back to the offline computer.
Enter the Response Code and click Activate.

  • Trouble activating my purchase due to inability to deactivate  Trial software.

I had installed  a trail of Adobe Acrobat XL Pro from your  US site . the trial has expired . before it expired I purchased  Adobe Acrobat (order number AD004320954AU from your Australian store) and am having trouble activating it as the XL Pro trail software seems to be overridng my purchased softwae. Can you please deactivate my trial software so i can properly install my purchased software.thank you.

Have you tried signing in to your adobe account and checking "My Account" details? First check your "registered products", if it doesn't show your purchased product registered, go to the "My Orders" page and make sure your purchase was registered under your account. If your order isn't there, and your product doesn't show as registered, then I would make sure you used the same same adobe account (email address and password) to purchase the product as when you downloaded the trial product, does this make sense? If you didn't create an adobe account (I think the trial product allows you to skip this action), make sure you go back and sign in to the trial product with your new adobe account information...this is how everything links together with adobe products.

  • Occasional trouble sending emails with Mail

When I try to send emails through Mail, about 1 in 5 messages seems to have trouble sending. What happens is, I click send, the sending icon has a little activity sign for way longer than it takes to normally send an email, and ultimately a few minutes later I get this error message:
"Cannot send message using the server
    smtpout:secureserver.net:(myid@mydomainname).com
The connection to the server “smtpout.secureserver.net” on port 80 timed out.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
    Sending from: me <(myid@mydomainname).com>"
Normally I then click "edit message" and then try sending, and it usually goes through fine. This started about a year ago, and I have just been dealing with it, but now I'm realizing that the problem may result in multiple versions of the same email being sent, so I'd like to get it solved!
It seems to happen with yahoo and comcast, etc., emails on the receiving end.

this always happens on my desktop iMac (the usual computer I use), which is connected to the internet via my Airport/ wirelessly. My ISP hasn't changed, and I haven't heard from them about any issues... and I don't seem to have trouble connecting to the internet otherwise - it's just when sending through Mail, and just with certain addresses (as far as I can tell).
For example, occasionally I'll send an email through my webmail (same email address, same ISP, same computer, but via the webmail site on my internet browser), and I've never had trouble with the outgoing mail there. If I use my husband's Windows-based laptops or PC (on the same ISP, same cable modem, connected either wirelessly or wired) and do webmail, no problem there either
This leads me to believe that it's the way that Mail is trying to send, trying to connect to the outgoing server or something? Especially because the message apparently IS sending - maybe Mail is just not getting confirmation back from the recipient's server? I can't rely on the message having gone through, but it seems most recipients are ultimately receiving the message twice - when it comes back to me with an error, and again when I successfully send.
Can I try reconfiguring my outgoing message Mail settings? I don't know what other settings to try...
