I get it all the time. What's that MUXID2FD? All required packages seem to be installed.
My specs for SunScreen configuration are:
Routing/Local Administration/Permissive Security/DNS.
2xNIC (3COM/Realtek 8139) Solaris 9 x86 machine is acting as DHCP/Samba PDC server and router between 10.0.0.1/255.0.0.0 and 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0. Uses DNS relay (ISP DNS servers) as name service.

I forgot to mention that this PC is acting as an Internet server on rtls0 (192.168.0.1/255.0.0.0), and it's elx0 (10.0.0.1/255.0.0.0) is used to connect to ISP via ADSL with PPPoEd SUN PPPd 4.0. So there's an additional interface sppp0.

Killing pppd and unplumbing sppptun (pppoe/pppoed) from elx0 produces the following while #ssadm configure with the same settings as above:

/usr/lib/sunscreen/lib/ss_activate: ss_default_drop failed, return code 33 -- Exiting...

I could only wonder what's a SIOCGLIFFLAGS and 33... :(

  • Configuring SunScreen Firewall on Solaris 8

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure SunScreen Firewall on Solaris 8 and i would like to know what is 'tcp/ip high ports" ? And i have to configure NAT also on the same machine so that few of the machines behind firewall can
communicate to the Server host infront of firewall. And currently i've the configuration like this.
-- Firewall is configured with single policy
--And the Rules are added correctly for NAT.
And after the policy is verified successfully, the communication is across the Firewall. But after this
following rules are added to configure tcp/ip high ports.(not sure about the service).
-- The rules are configured like this.
edit> add rule common localhost * ALLOW COMMENT "Allow firewall access out"
    edit> add rule tcp-high-ports hme0.net * ALLOW
    edit> add rule udp-high-ports hme0.net * ALLOW
Now i'm unable to communicate to the server infront of Firewall after policy is activated successfully.
I would appreciate if someone can help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Mullapudi

    HI,
i don't know sunscreen, but i can tell you that high-ports are ports above 1023.

  • Having trouble configuring my MI424WR router

Recently, my laptop started having trouble connecting to the internet (I found out it had trouble finding the router). So I am now attempting to re-connect it to the router, but I've been having some trouble trying to configure the device.
When I come to the login screen, I have trouble typing in the password. When I type in a letter it adds more characters than I typed (i.e. I type in a "p", and 3 dots show up instead of 1). Understandably, the website does not recognize my mangled password.
Backspacing does not work. It either deletes the letter entirely, or doesn't delete all of the extra characters (it is quite frustrating, needless to say).
I've tried restarting my computer and attempting to configure it again, but the same thing happens.
I almost forgot to mention, I am attempting to establish a wireless connection (that might be important to know)
(My laptop runs on Vista, I've heard that Fios has some trouble with computers that run on Vista.)
    Please help!

You may also find this link useful.  It will allow you to download the router manual if pdf format for reference purposes.

  • Having trouble configuring xorg 1.6

Hi all, I've started installing Arch today on my Laptop, using both the official install guide & beginners guide. However after installing the xf86-video-ati, and attempting to configure my xorg.conf file I have run into problems. No errors are displayed after I run Xorg -configure, however as soon as I then run X using the xorg.conf file I have just created, I'm simply greeted with a black screen and nothing else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Umbongo wrote:EDIT: disregard that, I've managed to get it working by not using an xorg.conf file. If there's a better way to do this, can someone please tell me?
I use a minimal xorg.conf file. X is happy without one but I  need to put in things that X cannot figure by itself.
In my case its the fact that I prefer to use the Nvidia drivers.
So my xorg.conf looks like this:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Configured Video Device"
    Driver "nvidia"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Default Screen"
    Device "Configured Video Device"
    DefaultDepth 24
    EndSection

  • Trouble configuring X with fglrx

    Hi there
Complete arch newbie here, but bear with me. I've installed catalyst using the repository as described in the wiki article, and run aticonfig --initial to generate an xorg.conf. However, I get errors when I try to start X; my screen flickers for a moment and I receive an error message:
(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0@1 :0 :01) found
In an attempt to fix this I copied a good known configuration for X from my previous Ubuntu installation but I get exactly the same error message.
    Here's my Xorg.0.log: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/214742/
    Xorg.conf: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/214743/
Any idea how I can get X running? I'm pretty much stuck without access to my laptop

It might be easier to just use the xf86-video-ati driver.
    I'll try those things

  • Trouble configuring OC4J with JDeveloper

    Hello:
I have installed OC4J 10.1.3 and I want to get JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 to deploy to it. I completed to Application Server wizard using localhost and port 8888 as my settings. When I try to deploy a web app, the deployment pauses indefinitely with just the messages:

I when I test the connection in the App Server properties it runs forever, too. I tried reading the online documentation to no avail. Is it the localhost and/or port 8888 causing the trouble? How can I find out the correct settings?

  • Trouble configuring Virtual Hosts on Mac OS X Lion Server

    The issue
I have a mac server running Lion. I'm using the built-in apache web server along with virtualhostx, to host multiple sites.
The first site i installed http://digilab.co, works just fine in terms of it's URL (permalink) structure. Beautiful. However, I am hosting another site http://theurbandater.net on my server. When you go to theurbandater.net, it resolves just fine, but when you click any of the links you get something like this: http://digilab.co/~digisavvy/theurbandater/hello-world-1/. Both sites run wordpress and I'm not wanting to use MAMP.
The redirect seems to work fine, but for whatever reason, it doesn't present the link structure as http://theurbandater.net/hello-world…
I was hoping you might give me some insight into what might be going on. I've been banging my head on this one for a while now and can't get it figured out…
    Thanks!

    Hi digisavvy!
As you say "when you go to theurlbandater.net it resolves just find but when you click (...)".
I understand that the domain resolves, and the front page you reach is the right one.
That means that Apache is properly configured, so it reaches the proper site.
How the links are constructed within the site has more to do with Wordpress. You say that it points to the other server-name "digilab.co"... hmmmm.... Had you copy the source files and/or database from the other Wordpress you host?? =)
There are two places you have to take a look.
There is a configuration file called "wp-config.conf" or something similar. Review it and make the changes.
Also take a look at the Wordpress database, there is a table called something like "wp_config", and there you'll find some records related to "domain, base path, home url" etc.
All those records must be changed when migrating (or copy and pasting) Wordpress. Maybe search in google "Wordpress migration" to get more info.
If you haven't migrated the files or database, or you have already done this changes, let me know!

  • Have new 1.5 Tb drive and having trouble configuring.

This is a strange question but heres whats happening. I installed snow leopard on this new drive I bought because I use my computer for work and I did not want to upgrade my main disk before knowing all my apps work. Trouble is now every time I open photo shop it says its not licensed anymore on this machine? So the questions are a. do i have to reinstall all the programs on this HD to make them run.
The other question is since my original disc was only 250gb and now its pretty much completely full with just applications and running pretty slow, how do I go about sharing apps between the two drives if I do decide to make both disks leopard snow? Can I just drag the application folder over to the new 1.5 tb disk.
Basically I want both drives to act as one large drive with multiple partitions.
Sorry if my question is vague/

This is what I am doing
I boot from the snow leopard drive,
I open photoshop cs4 from the applications folder on the HD with 10.5.8 on it
There is an error saying that photoshop needs to be re-authorized.
Do I need to reinstall photoshop on the leopard snow HD if the HD that photoshop is installed on is running 10.5.8?
In the future say I install snow on both drives. What if I install a program like photoshop or logic studio on only 1 of the drives. Does this mean that all the third party plug ins that I have must be installed on the same disk so that there accessed correctly?

  • Trouble configuring custom SAF

I'm trying to start developing my own SAF but I'm having trouble with my first step of getting a very basic SAF to work. At this point I'm just trying to get every request rejected to show my SAF is doing something, but it's not working at all (all requests accepted).
I'm starting with the QOS sample SAF that comes with the build. This is Sun Java System Web Server 7, on CentOS.
I'm going to show some of the details because I suspect it's something very basic/simple that I'm doing wrong.
The highlights of my SAF code is:
NSAPI_PUBLIC int requestLimit(pblock *pb, Session *sn, Request *rq)
        PRBool ok = PR_TRUE;
        ok = PR_FALSE;
            protocol_status(sn, rq, PROTOCOL_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE, NULL);

At this point, I believe the SAF should be blocking all requests to the server, but it doesn't. All requests are handled as before. I've cleared my browser cache to make sure it's really requesting the files from the server.
    A few trouble shooting tests:
I've tried deleting the share.so file and making sure it is restored by 'Make'. Make does not report any errors.
I've intentionally changed the names of the functions in share.c to ones that don't match to make sure the server is looking for them, and that does prompt an error when I restart the server.
I've intentially changed the fn names in the magnus.conf file to ones that don't match, and that also prompts errors when I restart the server.
However, if I change the fn name in the obj.conf AuthTrans line, that does NOT prompt any errors. So I wonder if the obj.conf file is being used, but I'm not sure what else/different to do with it.
I've tried changing the obj.conf file to hook in my SAF at differnent points (NameTrans, Service), but nothing seems to have an effect.
I'm all out of ideas. Any suggestions (oh please, oh please) ?
Edited by: timwhunt on Apr 23, 2009 2:29 PM

Thanks for suggesting the logs, that's a lession I seem to have to learn many times!
I've only found one line that looks related, and it's from the server startup:
    [23/Apr/2009:16:07:51] fine (26232): attempting to load /sun/webserver7/samples/nsapi/share/share.so
There's no indication of any error after that attempted load. When I intentionally changed names so they didn't match yesterday, that did prompt an earlier error in the log that I found. But there are no errors now that I've restored the correct name.
It doesn't add anything to the error log in response to a request, except for perhaps another entry like:
[23/Apr/2009:16:20:39] fine (26237): Updating accelerator cache
But nothing specific about SAFs. There is also no reference at all to the obj.conf file.

How are you declaring your DMS destination? I believe you should be using the HibernateAnnotationsAssembler as your assembler. You might want to refer to the LCDS 3.1 documentation for using it.

  • Trouble configuring Dial Plan in CallManager 7.1.3

    Hello all.
Been trying to make my internal phones to communicate to the PSTN line through a VIC2-2FXO card on my Cisco 2911 router.
Problem is that in past tests, I managed to configure CME to direct PSTN call through an FXO card, but it was a different scenario. I had at the time a Cisco 2801 router with CallManager Express installed on its flash, and an FXO card same as this one.
I could also configure my scenario using SDM and other Cisco tools (graphical) which I can't now, because this Cisco 2911 won't accept SDM 2.5 to be installed.
Anyway, I have my phones communicating with eachother internally, both the IP phones, SIP softphones and 2 analog phones connected to the network through a VG202 voice gateway.
I'm here to ask for your help on the best way, or which steps i have to pass in order to allow my communications to be delivered to the exterior of my organization.
I already tried all that I could find, and understand, such as Route Pattern, Application Dial Rules and several others, but still no luck.
Can anyone help me with some guidelines on what I need to configure, or point me on some good documentation about this?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi
Since you are using FXO ports, I would normally configure the gateway as a H.323 router. This config should be familiar to you if  you have played with CME previously.
Basically you would need carry out these steps:
    1) Configure dial-peers pointing to your FXO ports on the gatway (here I'm assuming you want to dial 9 for an outside line, so change the 9 if you use something different - also use whatever voice port numbers you have on your gateway):
    dial-peer voice 1 pots
    destination-pattern 9T
    port 0/0/0
    dial-peer voice 2 pots
    destination-pattern 9T
    port 0/0/1
    2) Set the ports to use PLAR to route any incoming calls to an internal extension:
    voice-port 0/0/0
connection plar 1234                    (set an internal extension where I have 1234)
    3) Configure dial-peers pointing to CCM for inbound calls to the number you are sending the calls to:
    dial-peer voice 10 voip
session target ipv4:x.x.x.x            (CCM IP address)
    destination pattern 1234
    codec G711a
    no vad
    4) In CCM, add the gateway as a H.323 gateway. Set:
Device name: IP address of the gateway.
Device Pool: something suitable or default
Inbound Calling Search Space: Set to a CSS including your internal phones, or leave at if you haven't configured partitions
    5) In CCM, add a route pattern to match your dial-peer. E.g.
    Pattern : 9!
Partition : a partition which your phones have in their CSS, or if you haven't configured CSS/Partitions
Gateway or Route LIst : your H.323 gateway
Leave other properties as-is for now.
This should then allow anything you dial starting with 9 to be routed to the gateway, which will then strip the 9 and send the call out.
This is a very basic setup.... there's a world of other stuff you may want to do, but it should get you started...

  • Troubles configuring wireless interface on 1811W.

    Hello to all
I have the following issue: I managed to configure the Wlan radio interface of a 1811W and I am using WPA2/PSK. But even I connect to the router via wireless it seems that there is no communication between the computer and the other interfaces; also DHCP is not assigning me an IP.
I should mention that I am not a cisco expert but I like to think that I have some sort of knowledge in IP networks. Can someone enlighten me?

Ok I have found 1 bug but the issue is not entirely solved.
    Instead:
    ip dhcp pool DHCP_PoolN
       network 192.168.23.0 255.255.255.128
       default-router 192.168.123.126
       dns-server 8.8.8.8
    It should be:
    ip dhcp pool DHCP_PoolN
       network 192.168.123.0 255.255.255.128
       default-router 192.168.123.126
       dns-server 8.8.8.8
Now I get an IP address but I have no routing to the other interfaces.
    I can ping only
    BVI3 (192.168.123.126)
    Any ideeas?

  • Trouble configure Sync - not recognize outlook profile

After installing Desktop Software 6.0 I was unable to configure synchronization with outlook. The setup Wizard seems to go Ok. Desktop Software tels me "successfully configuration". But after clicking the Finish button the Desktop Software goes to the original unconfigured state. It seems that Desktop Software does not recognize the outlook profile.
    Tried already:
clean uninstall, new outlook profile, repair outlook, set outlook as default, register atl.dll,
    System configuration:
Windows XP. Outlook 2002/exchange, Curve 2520, Desktop Software 6.0

  • Using Fieldpoint Explorer, I am having trouble configuring outputs on my RLY-420 and PWM-520 modules attached to an FP-1000 network module

I have noticed that I can not get my Relay module to turn off all of the channels, also I can only set the PWM modules down to ~4% output.
I have tried to "Reset" the factory defaults on the FP-1000. I've tried to configure the powerup states of the different modules, all with no luck.
I have made sure I am running with the latest firmware on the FP-1000
I did notice this problem before upgrading the firmware. Immediately after doing the upgrade the problem went away for a short while. Now it is back again.
My system is configured as follows:
    1 FP-1000 network module @address 0
    4 FP-TC-120 modules @1,
    2, 3, 4
    2 FP-TB-10 dual channel bases @ 5, 6
    2 FP-PWM-520 modules @ 7, 8
    1 FP-RLY-420 module @ 9
Something seems to me to be happening with my .iak file in FieldPoint Explorer, of course I could be completely off base.
I appreciate any insight anybody might have with this problem

    Kerry,
There are several different things that may be going on here. First of all, there may be an issue with power consumption. A network module (FP-1000 in this case) is designed to source up to 9 Watts of power to I/O modules. This assumes an average of 1 Watt per module. Certain modules require more than 1 Watt, most require less leaving extra power for the ones that require more. In your configuration, you may be over this depending upon how your FP-TB-10's are populated. Assuming that the TB-10 is unpopulated, your consumption is 4 * 0.35 + 2 * .25 + 2 * 0.6 + 1.7. = 3.8 Watts. Thus, the load from the Dual Channel modules may not exceed 5.2 Watts. If you are using exclusively the Dual Channel Analog Out Current modules, you will overload the power supply.

r thing to look at is when resetting the network module, check the box that says factory configuration. After the reset, uncheck the box and then configure your channels and power-up values (edit this device on each module).
Also, there are some times when relays may get "stuck" in an on position due to extremely high inductive loading. I have not seen that happen very frequently, but it does make me wonder, what type of load are you driving on the relay channels?
The PWM module, has 12 bit resolution, and will accept values of 0% for the output duty cycle. What value for the period have you set?
