Trouble Creating a pdf Using MS Office Word 2007

When I try to convert a document in MS Office Word 2007 to a
PDF the process starts but Word shuts down after 10% of the
conversion has occurred. I've used Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard for the
conversion and the Print function in Word but get the same result.
I received the following error message:
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: setdistillerparams;
ErrorInfo: CalCMYKProfile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored
Error accessing color profile: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
On an earlier attempt an error message read:
"Can't open file WRS (97F62665-949E-4CC3-967C-80EE690DFF9C).
If the file is stored on you computer there may be a problem with
the hardware or netwroik. If you can copy the file, try saving it
in another location and opening it from there." I saved the file on
a memory stick and was able to get it converted to a pdf at a local
business support store for a fee.
I'd very much prefer to do my own conversions and wonder if
anyone on this forum has experienced the same problem and was able
to resolve it. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Save as PDF option in MS Word 2007 does not create TOC links

    Hello All,
    i am using Microsoft Office Word 2007 to create How to Guides, Installation Manuals, and other technical documents. I send these documents to customer in PDF format.
    When i use "Save as PDF" option of MS Word 2007 to generate PDF file, it creates the PDF but without TOC links. TOC entries are there but hyperlinks are missing.
    Can anyone please provide me a solution to work around this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    It seems that you are trying to insert a Hyperlink in you document which you want to save as a PDF file from Word 2007,
    but when you open the PDF file there is no such a Hyperlink but only the website address.
    If there is anything misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
    Try this:
    When you have inputted the website address, enter an “Space” or “Enter” behind it to make it
    turn into a Hyperlink before you save the document into PDF file.
    Sincerely,
    Fangfang

  • Need Help Opening a Corrupted File in MS Office Word 2007.

    I use Microsoft Office Word 2007. I need help in opening a corrupted file. I tried to open but am getting messages: "cannot be opened", "unreadable content", "do you want to recover contents?" "Do you want to search
    for a converter?"
    Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this file to open? :/
    Thank you,
    Chuck in California

    From Microsoft Documentation:-
    If a file has been damaged and you cannot open it by normal means, you may be able to recover its content by using the Open and Repair
    feature.
    Click the
    Microsoft Office Button
    Browse to the file that you want to recover, and click it (do not double-click it).
    Click the arrow next to the
    Open button, and then click Open and Repair.

  • Trouble creating a pdf converting Word doc ..."Could not find the application that created the file"

    Hello,
    I am working with Acrobat Pro 8 and am trying to create a pdf by converting a word doc. When I try that, I keep getting an error message, " Could not find the application that created this file...please select a file created by an application that resides on your computer." I can always convert a word into pdf first and then insert it into the pdf project that I am working on, however I have multiple files and I really would like to bypass that long step.
    I found another thread in this forum which talks about a simillar issue (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/429585).I tried the solution suggested there by Bill@vt regarding the print menu. I am not really sure if t have distiller installed, so I tried opening it in acrobat, but it failed. During the process, I got the follwing message "Check the Status column for a list of files that could not be printed".I do not have any clue how to check for AcroTray running in the background.
    I would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

    If Distiller failed to open, it sounds like you need to do a repair of your Acrobat installation. Have not heard that one before!

  • No Create Adobe PDF button in Microsoft Word 2000

    Hi,
    I recently purchased and installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 and am working my way through Adobe Acrobat Classroom in a Book. I've learned there should be a "Create Adobe PDF" button in Microsoft Word (and Excel, etc.), but there are none in mine. If I use the Adobe PDF printer, an untagged PDF will result.
    I'm using Microsoft Word 2000; is that version too old to support the addition of a Create Adobe PDF button within the application? I've also recently installed Omnipage and buttons for that application installed in Word with no problems.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • How do I create  a PDF using Acrobat 7.0 in Windows 8 from a Visio drawing on a 64-bit system

    I used to be able to create a PDF using Acrobat 7.0 from a Visio drawing in XP. Now I'm running a 64-bit system, no Adobe printer can be installed, and it is unsupported.  Help?

    On a 32-bit system, there is a workaround. I do not think it is possible to get AA7 to work on a 64-bit system (no one has reported success and only 1 has suggested success with AA8). You may be able to print to a PS file and then open that in Distiller. I suspect that is the only way and you will have to find a decent PS printer driver to do it. I suspect the printer driver (and associated AcroTray) will not work in a 64-bit Win8 -- Acrobat and Distiller may.

  • I created a pdf form from a Word doc with 9 pt aerial font formatting; the text on the pdf form is aerial 9 pt, but the fields are formatted in courier 12 pt - How do I reformat the font in the fields??

    I created a pdf form from a Word doc with 9 pt aerial font formatting; the text on the pdf form is aerial 9 pt, but the fields are formatted in courier 12 pt - How do I reformat the font in the fields??

    You can set up a temporary button (or link, bookmark, etc.) and add the following JavaScript action:
    // Mouse Up script for a temporary button (or bookmark, etc.)
    // Change the font and font size for all text fields in this document
    for (var i = 0; i < numFields; i += 1) {
        var f = getField(getNthFieldName(i));
        if (f.type === "text") {
            f.textFont = font.Helv;
            f.textSize = 9;
    It also sets the font size, but you can remove that line if you don't need to do that.

  • Having trouble creating a PDF (Mac User)

    In Acrobat, I get an error message when I try to create a PDF and select a Word file.  The error message tells me that my file is corrupted (not the case) or incompatible with Adobe (not sure why that would be).
    The only way I can do it is to open Word and then print or save to PDF.  But I want to successfully create a PDF from within Acrobat.

    Once you have the WORD file in a PDF as you have done, try the Forms>Start Form Wizard (assuming you have this on the MAC). As I understand it, you can not create a PDF from DOC within Acrobat on the MAC since it requires PDF Maker that is not part of the MAC Acrobat system. Some MAC users should be by eventually to clarify or correct my comments.

    I created a spreadsheet using Microsoft office 2010 Excel.  When I open the sheet using Numbers, the formatting changes.  How do I fix this?

    If you plan to share or work with people who regulary use MS Excel you should not try to use this in Numbers.  You will have constant problems with how each program translates the formatting.
    If you want to use Numbers, use it exclusively.  If it is for your job use the tool your company uses.

  • Creating a PD file from MS Word (2007) document

    I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro (as part of CS3) and MS Word 2007 (as part of Office 2007)and have been trying to create a PDF file from a word document.
    Here are the steps I have taken:
    Open Word document and then click the "Acrobat" Tab.
    Then click "Create PDF" tab
    In the dialog box that appears I selected "Fully Fucntional PDF" and clicked OK
    I get the following message: "PDFMaker cannot locate the Adobe PDF Printer's printer driver. Please re-install Adobe Acrobat 8.0."
    So I re-installed Adobe CS3 (which contains Acrobat 8 Pro). This did not solve the problem.
    I repeated the whole process again this time selecting "Quick and simple PDF" and clicked OK. This time a PDF file was created.
    My question is - why can't I create a "Fully Functional PDF" file? Is there something wrong or do I need some higher level version of Acrobat?
    Looking forward to some advice. Thanks. Alan

    Look in the printer list to be sure that the Adobe PDF printer is loaded. Also, go to the Adobe.com>download>updates and download all of the updates for AA8 and install them in order (don't try to skip unless the site says you can). The current version is AA8.1.3. That might solve the problem. It may be that you need at least AA8.1.2 to work properly with WORD 2007. There were a lot of problems with the initial release.

  • Importing Large Sized MS Office Word 2007 Tables

    Hello,
    Once again I am stuck; hopefully some experienced and helpful FM people can give me some pointers.
    I am using FM 9 in WinXP and MS Office Word 2007. You know, the one that saves documents as .docx.
    I get these documents from Engineers in a Word doc format that in some cases have very large tables that I need to import into FM. I have tried to import these tables as a file, as a CSV, but nothing seems to work well. I keep having problems with each method I try such that the tweaks required to make the import work are not worth it and I may as well start copying and pasting each cell.
    I have also searched the forums to see if there was a post concering this type of thing, but maybe I am not searching on the right thing because I could not find a post that was similar to what I am going through.
    What is the best method to import a 200 row, 6 column table from MS Office Word 2007 into FM9? The end result will need to have a header row and be editable as an FM 9 table.
    Thanks for the help!
    Erin

    Erin, as you've found, importing Word tables can be quite a challenge because there are so many ways that the two applications have different capabilities that the import filter just can't handle them. Plus, it often leaves hidden Word "junk codes" in the table in FM which can severely mangle one's sanity later on. And, the .docx file spec is newer than the FM9 filters, so ...
    The very best way to get clean import of Word tables is to use Rick Quatro's TableCleaner import:
    http://www.frameexpert.com/plugins/index.htm
    It's absolutely worth its weight in gold.
