Trouble downloading files?

So, recently, I've had trouble downloading things. I bought Avatar and then it game me an error message "All downloads and file copies have been paused. The disk you are attempting to use is full. Removing files and emptying the Recycle Bin will free up additional space." But the thing is, I emptied the Recycle Bin and have deleted various files on my computer, yet it keeps giving me the same message, help?

Would you mind grabbing a screenshot of your Desktop when you download a file with a "Get Info" window showing of the downloaded file? Once you've got that post it to www.imageshack.us so we can double check it looks ok.

I cannot download exe files. I have no trouble downloading files with other extensions (ex: dta).

I have an HP Pavilion dm4-2070us computer running Windows 7. I have the same problem with internet explorer and with Firefox. The file seems to download but never finishes; it is not in my downloads folder.

Hello number1stat, try to temporarily disable your antivirus software and see if that helps, if it does not work then try the following. This can occur if you have customized your Internet Options Security settings for the Internet zone, if the option, "Launching applications and unsafe files" is set to "Disable". Method 1: Reset your Security settings for the Internet zone to the default level. Go to "Control Panel -> Internet Options" (or use "Start -> Run -> inetcpl.cpl -> OK" to open "Internet Properties") then click the Security tab, select the Internet zone and click "Default level" Method 2: Set a custom level for security in the Internet zone. Go to "Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security (tab) -> Internet". If security is set to "High", or if you have customized the Internet zone settings, select "Custom level..." and change the single option, "Launching Applications and Unsafe Files" from 'Disable' to 'Prompt (recommended)'. If executable file downloads fail from certain sites but you are able to download exe files from other sites, check in "Internet Options -> Security - > Restricted sites -> Sites" to make sure that the problem site is not in the "Restricted sites" list, as the security level for that zone is High by default. Some Security software, including Spybot S&D, add known malware sites to that listing.

Replaced WR54 with e1000 trouble downloading files

Hi,
Last year we upgraded our wireless router from the 54G to the e1000. We currently can not down load files such as itune apps. The file appears to start to down load and then stops at 11%. If we try to download the file again it will go up to 22%. when we use another access point we do not seem to have this problem and can down load files with any issues. We did not have this issue with the 54G router. Is there something in the e1000 that needs to be set. All settings are as they were the unit came out of the box. Please advise if there is something that I am missing.

Login to the setup page of your Router and below change the MTU size to 1350 and click on save settings, then click on the Security tab and below uncheck "Filter Anonymous Internet Request" and click on save settings...
Once you are done with this settings now you can try to download a file and check.

Slow Speeds Trouble Downloading Files via Software Update (more)

I completed an OS update from 10.4.11 to 10.5 Leopard. I now have a bunch of problems. We have gone through all our settings from 10.4.11 and all are correct.
1. Slow web page access with 10.5
2. Very erratic downloading from Software Update and from the web. Email transfers are fine. Odd.
3. No longer able to port forward from Airport. I do the port forward but can't access my home server from outside our private network. Some times that does not even work.
4. We have tried Web Sharing , Abyss Web server, and our normal Server MAMP. None work outside the private network.
5. All server functions have worked flawless since OS X originally came out.
6. Nothing changed before our switch to Leopard.
7. We still have two computers using 10.4.11 and they can download lickity split with no hickups.
8. I am at my wits end on this issue and after all our testing feel it is a Leopard issue and nothing else.
9. My service provider has stated that others that upgraded to Leopard are having problems too. Seems like this should be looked into post hast from Apple.
10. Sorry to say but I must revert back to my last OS and reinstall and re-upgrade to 10.4.11 and try to make my stuff work again.
11. I have tried starting yesterday afternoon to download the newest update for Leopard and I have only been able to get 355MB from a total of 536MB download. The down load just chokes up and quits after a few megs and then I must try to restart the download and it may go 20 megs then choke or may not even go. I do this a few times until I get movement and then it will choke again. I keep doing this again and again. It is consistent with Leopard.
12. I even did a complete pure clean install and the problem still persists.
13. Come on Apple, get with it and get this problem fixed. Folks will move away from Leopard in droves if you don't move on this one.

The SUS Admin Manual is clear on what format the SUS Service can use and it can't use manually downloaded dmgs. Furthermore AFAIK there is no way (if there is ever likely to be) you can convert downloaded dmgs of Updates to a format SUS can recognise and more importantly use.
You should consider purchasing ARD and use that to 'push' out manually downloaded updates instead. You can purchase ARD from the App Store.

Trouble downloading since iCloud update

Since the iCloud update I'm having trouble downloading files.
Some files I can download without any trouble, but for most of the files the download stops after 4kb.
I know for sure that the files are not corrupt, because I can all download them on my old windows-pc.
I don't believe it is necessarily a safari problem because firefox and Jdownloader do it also.
By downloading I mostly mean downloading from sites like fileserve, rapidshare etc.
You can say that this is all illegal stuf, but that's not true. I can't even download the files I uploaded myself.

Is there really nobody who can help me, please?

Troubles downloading anything off of Safari

I have trouble downloading files off of Safari. When I click a link to download something, say a file off of the apple website, the page loads as if it is going to download something, but doesn't do anything. However, I can download the file normally by right clicking and selecting "download linked file". This solution only works about half the time though. I know the download directory and the files are not downloading anywhere else on the computer. Does anybody know the issue here? What can I do to fix it? Thank you.

Perhaps the easiest step is to move the file com.apple.Safari.plist located in your User Library/Preference folder to the desktop. Then restart Safari and try a download. Corruption in your preference file could affect the download process. If there is no change move the file back into the Library, writing over the newly created one. If downloads work, then you'll have to reset your Safari Preferences to your liking from the default settings.
Just checking: Have you ever installed any 3rd party download app, such as Speed Download?
Curious? Which folder are you directing your downloads to?

Curve 8520 can't download files larger than 3MB

I have having trouble downloading files that are larger than 3MB be it music files,PDF files or applications.I need help.

Please make sure you have a strong and consistent coverage for you to be able to download large files completely. I would suggest connecting to a WiFi network because 2G mobile data coverage is not really adviseable for downloading. Or probably use a PC instead.

Trouble downloading attachments

i am having trouble downloading files/attchments via the internet. The download starts properly and i get a "dmg" file and when i try to open it i get an error message.. i have had this expereince at several trusted web sites like the Cannon webiste to download a printers manual..is there i place where i can learn how to do this correctly??? i do not understand the Apple process of downloading files from a web site

Having Trouble Downloading Certain Files

I just got a Droid Razr the other day after accidentally dropping my Droid 2 off a third floor balcony. I'm enjoying the phone so far, but I'm having trouble downloading certain files. I use my phone to listen to podcasts. With my old phone I was able to download them from their respective websites by hold-clicking the download link, and clicking "Save Link." Now when I do that, I get the little "Starting Download" message, then, nothing. Is there some setting or something that isn't right?
Full disclosure, when I was transferring the files from my old 8GB SD card to my new 16GB card, I accidentally put the files on the internal storage instead of the SD card, so after getting the files onto the right card, I deleted those files from internal storage. I was thinking perhaps I accidentally deleted some system file or something that would cause this problem, but I really have no idea.

Try Opera Mobile because a number of stock browsers have issues downloading from some sites....
As for the possibilty od deleting system files you should not have access to any system files that would cause and device issues because you have to have Superuser rights and the system wont have this without voiding warrenty..

Needs clarification. You upload from your computer to the internet & download from a website/internet to your computer. So which are you trying to do? Either way, sounds like a browser issue. You need to post in the forum of whichever browser you are using.

I tried installing a download manager but the download does not automatically start from the download manager.Its 4.7GB in size and always faile after downloading 3.7GB.

I've installed downthemall, but the problem still exists.
When the file arrives a 49Mb downthem report the error.
As a workaround i click on "resume" button and it ends without errors.
