Trouble getting Flex 4.1A to run using Internet Explorer 11

We have an application that is a Javascript application with an embedded Flex application compiled using 4.1A. It currently runs fine on all browsers except Internet Explorer 11.
We sometimes get a security sandbox violation: ExternalInterface caller. Any idea why our swfs are not loading or ExternalInterface calls are not working?

JDeveloper version: Studio Edition Version 10.1.3.1.0.3984
JHeadstart version: 10.1.3.1 Release 10.1.3.1.26
I have some groups in JHeadstart Application Definition with Table/Table-Form Layout with Multi-Row Insert/Update allowed is true.
If I run the application in Internet Explorer 7 and try to Save records in Table Layout (as Multi-Row Insert/Update allowed is true) it gives an error - "Object Required" and does not save the record. But some forms with Table Layout work.
If I run the application in Internet Explorer 6 or Mozilla Firefox then it works fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Syed,
This sounds like a JDeveloper/ADF issue that is not related to JHeadstart. To test this: do you also get this bevaviour when using a drag & drop application with plain ADF? Do you also get it when you generate a fresh, new JHeadstart table page?
If you get this with plain ADF: can you please ask this question at the JDeveloper forum at JDeveloper and ADF ?
If you get this with plain JHeadstart: then please come back here!

Flex application does not run in Internet Explorer(IE) browser

The IE browser has the required version of the Flash player installed as a Active X control.
Looked at the remoting-config.xml and services-config.xml files, but did not find anything which might prevents the application from running on IE. The application is using Flash remoting services to talk to Coldfusion and fails with a "Send Failed" message.
Where could be the error and how can I start tracing it?
Any advice would be welcome.

I had this issue with using https and flex. There is a known issue (that microsoft calls a feature) that prevents IE from caching content (flash files) over https.
If you are using https, try using http to see if it makes a difference. To get it working you need to set some headers in the response.

Why am I getting all these pop up ads? I don't get nearly as many if I use Internet Explorer.

When i go to my homepage (Yahoo), these ads pop up and flash to get your attention. As many as three or four ads at a time. Do I have a malware problem or what?

hello, yes this looks quite like a problem with adware on your pc.

Trouble playing videos/download pics to fb using internet explorer

For some reason I'm currently unable to play youtube videos or upload pics to FB without being prompted to download Adobe Flash....which I've done 100 times and it hasn't resolved the issue. I've uninstalled /reinstalled.......done everything I've read on the web to try..............any other suggestions or tips???/ Now, if I go thru firefox I can play videos and download pics to fb. But, I like my explorer b/c everything is set up..........please help! Kathy B.

Yan.Zhou: I did what you suggested and still doesn't work. I uninstalled adobe flash player, opened up task manager and stopped everything, and reinstalled adobe and when I try to play a video or upload pics to FB is get a message that I need to install adobe flash player.......after installation it gives me a message is was successfully installed. This just started a couple days ago.......prior to that everything worked fine.......as far as I know there haven't been any changes to the system. Do you have any other suggestions............now if I go thru firefox, no problems. I would prefer to use IE and get this adobe working correctly. Thanks Kathy B.

To get the Menu bar I followed the excellent advice - I had to press the Alt key and V to get the chance to pick toolbars from the drop down menu. I just right-clicked on the blank page and hit Alt-V.

Or are you looking for a particular app ? Some developers allow you to download older compatible versions of their apps : Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Using Quicken to manage a bank account, I get an error message from the bank that cookies and javascript must be enabled, but I don't get that message when I connect with Internet Explorer.

Firefox allows me to get the bank home page through Quicken. But when I try to login, the error message appears saying "cookies and javascript" must be enabled. I have Java on my system, but in Firefox under "tools/options/ I don't find any way to "enable" javascript. I have enabled "cookies".
I have no problem logging in at the bank site using Internet Explorer, but to use it, I have to designate it as the "default browser" before connecting through Quicken. I'd rather keep Firefox as the default.
A bank tech representative was unable to find any commands in Firefox that would deal with this problem, although she clearly had manuals for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. So she concluded that I would have to use Explorer for this operation, since it allowed control of security level settings. She said that in Explorer, security level should be set to medium.
Is there some similar control in Firefox?

Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

SharePoint 2013 - document libraries and newsfeeds are visible when viewed using Internet Explorer running on the server but not from any other machine

On a single Windows 2012 R2 server I have installed SQL 2012 and SharePoint 2013 SP1 with the latest update roll ups. When I remote desktop to the server using the farm and site collection admin account and open page http://server_name_here using
Internet Explorer, I'm able to see newsfeeds and document libraries.
If I connected to a separate Windows 7 machine as the farm and site collection admin account and open page http://server_name_here using Internet Explorer, I'm able to view the SharePoint pages except I cannot see any newsfeeds or document libraries.
There's just blank space where they should be. I have repeated this process on several other machines that are not the server and get the same result on every machine (I've tried other servers, desktops, adding the SharePoint site to the trusted sites list
in IE, even using firefox). I'm using the same account as I did when I logged onto the server directly. Any thoughts as to what's going on?

It is currently set to the default of http://server_name and http://server_name:port_number (the latter is for Central Admin).
When I have access to the server, I have always done so the same way, using http://server_name. This was true when I access it from the desktop of the server itself and when I tried to access it from other desktops and servers (the machines where I had the
issues with the libraries and feeds not showing up). Are there other values I should add?
I have not tried to add http://server_FQDN as we don't plan on using that to access it but if you think it will help I would be happy to add it.

Tried to see if it is looking for flash and it is disabled or not installed by default; java (not being installed and best to turn it off normally), browser agent to report it as something else.
Opera comes the closest I've read to spoofing a site telling it is IE but you have to do so per site. Also OmniWeb.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.
