Trouble getting Media Query script to work in IE8 - css3-mediaqueries.js

This script (css3-mediaqueries.js) apparently works in IE8 based on people raving about it. But, I cant get it to work for the life of me. I included the reference tag (<script type="text/javascript" src="../js/css3-mediaqueries.js"></script>) as stated by the documentation site, but to no avail it still wont fire my media queries and scale my image at all in IE8.
I currently have my media queries set in em increments as I want native browser support to render my text accordingly. However, I read about this being an issue with the respond.js script, but I'm not sure if the same is true for the css3-mediaqueries.js script. I have experienced IE8 crashing when both scripts were implemented (separately, of course), so something in my code is conflicting obviously, but I cant identify it.

Although it is a good practice, validation is the least of my concerns. Google and Microsoft.com don't even validate. And infact have a ton of errors: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2009/03/html-validation-does-it-matter.html. Most if not all modern browsers are equipped to handle even the worst code. I am more concerned with getting the scripts to work and validation will not fix this (I will validate later). I have validate many sites in the past with no reward, just headaches. And being that we live in a deadline driven world it is generally not good from a productivity stand point.
With that said, could it be the ordering of my scripts and stylesheets? I am new to responsive design so I havent tested yet. I will test when I get to the office.

I am coding a site for mobile/tablet/desktop and while my desktop and iphone respond to the CSS, my ipad does not. The changes I make to the tablet in dreamweaver take, but when they go live the ipad does not respond. Obviously my media query must be incorrect but I cannot figure out the issue. Yes. That's inevitable because smart phones are getting bigger while tablets are getting smaller & bigger. There is always going to be some crossover. Think of it this way, when a tablet behaves like a mobile device, it takes on the mobile layout. When tablet behaves more like a desktop, it takes the desktop layout.
Similarly, a wide smartphone in landscape mode is apt to look like your tablet layout.

Media Query does not work from GoDaddy redirect?

Website is set up and all looks good, except when the page is loaded from the redirect host name setup in Godaddy, the mobile media queries don't work. I'm not sure why?? The page loads ok, but will not apply the phone.css on a mobile device. However, if I use the local host url all works great. Thank you if you have any recommendations!

Thank you again for taking time to look at this. I failed to mention I had adjusted the media query to 360px. Although, both urls above call up the same web page it seems the first url is wrapping the source into a frame.

Trouble getting the socket object to work

I'm trying to pull an external XML file into InDesign, so I know I need to use the Socket object. I went to the documentation and copied/pasted the code from there:

So, I'm stuck! Either Adobe's code sample has an error, or, more likely, there's something wrong on my end. If I had to guess, I'd guess that it's some kind of proxy problem, but I don't know for sure and don't know how to find out.
Can anyone help? The principles of the Socket object make sense to me, but if I can't get even the sample to work, I don't really have anywhere to go with this.

How to get Adobe Flash 10 to work on IE8 on Windows Vista?

I've tried downloading the newest Adobe Flash Player 10 on IE8
on my Windows Vista and it's not working. It downloads but when I go back to hulu.com it says I still have to download the latest version. I've tried unistalling and installing it (several times)... I've made sure that Shockwave is enabled under Internet settings... I've also tried unistalling IE8 and reinstalling without the updates... and still nothing. I even tried installing Flash 10 on IE7, still nothing worked.
I have Windows Vista 32 bit and not terribly computer savvy. Hulu works fine when I use Firefox, but it's not working on IE8. I need it to work on IE8 in order to stream video from hulu on our Wii through PlayOn TV. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Can't get this one site to work in IE8

I'm convinced I have the current version of Flash working properly - IE8 reports Flash Shockwave Object 10.2.153.1 , Shockwave ActiveX Control 11.5.9.620 and the Adobe test page seems to confirms this. All seems fine with all other sites, but there seems something wrong with the following link - it reports "Flash Player 9 needed - you don't have it installed"

Yet this same page works in Firefox 4.0..(and I have viewed previous versions of the page successfully with IE8)!

Hi, I know some websites don't have information that's needed. I don't know if that site had a contact us or not.
Flash Player this last time had some new Technology in addition to Security updates so maybe that website hasn't updated yet. That does happen.
Hopefully you'll be able to find another site that's comparable.

My first example will work as long as I call Instance.setCloseConnection(false). Apparently the second example can only work in OC4J, although I haven't verified such.
It would be a really good idea for Oracle to get it together and add this information to their JavaDocs.

Check on iPhone and Mac you have signed into iCloud and FaceTime with the exact same account - log out of them and back in to confirm. It wasn't working for me till I did this and it is now working a charm!

Have you used any plug-in type headsets on your Centro?
Do you hear any sound out of the speaker when you play an MP3 file?
There is a microswitch in the headset jack that can get stuck and make the Centro "think" it has a headset plugged in and this can cause the problems you are describing. You can try the following procedure to see if the headset jack is causing the problem.

A picture is not very helpful. Either post the file, or at least the code, plus an explanation of what is going wrong, including any error messages you're getting.

Having trouble getting multi camera edit to work in cs5

I have been follow Premiere pro cs5 classroom in a book trying to get a mutlicam to work. I nest the clips and never get the multi camera screen it shows the multi cam is enabled but only has one camera checked. I have tried highlight all or only one or none before nesting still no edit screen. What am I doing wrong? any ideas

Trouble getting java install wizard to work with 3rd party software

Hi,
I just installed Java 2 SDK version 1.4.2 under Solaris 8. The installation appears to be fine. I changed
the links and PATH to make sure I'm pointing to the correct version. I am trying to install a 3rd party software called Powerchute Network Shutdown by APC, to be able to shut down our servers remotely, that are attached to our APC UPS. I get these error messages from the software:
starting the wizard
Exception in main calss "JExpressLoader"
java wizard not started properly
unable to start the install wizard
Tech support at APC has been unable to help me. I am wondering if someone can tell me how to verify my java wizard is installed correctly. (I don't even know what a java wizard is by the way, so hopefully
this question makes some sense to someone).

Cannot get RDS Query Viewer to work

This appears to be the same or similar problem with RDS Query Viewer that showed up in Ver 2.0.
Right clicking on a table and selecting RDS Query Viewer gives the following error:
Resource '/mydir/.rdsTempFiles/RDS Query Viewer does not exist.
The .rdsTempFiles directory with RDS Query Viewer file are created in mydir. The file is 0 bytes.
Anyone else seeing this?
