Trouble passing var using CFC

I'm having trouble passing a variable value called from a CFC
into Flex via RemoteObject. Basically I'm trying to pass the
current logged-in user to a Combobox as a string. The Web directory
in IIS is set to dissallow anonymous access and is set to
Integrated Windows Authentication. The CFC is in the secured
directory as well as the Flex app. If I change the CGI variable to
something like #cgi.remote_addr# among others it works fine so I
know it's not the actionScript or CFC code. Any ideas as to why
#cgi.auth_user# is passing as an empty string?? One more caveat. If
I invoke the function in my CFC from a .cfm page the auth_user is
displayed as expected.

Trouble Passing Values Using onClick Event

I have a page with a div, <div id= PF_Text_Panel></>, containing text describing an image, the image is in a separate div. Using CSS the text panel is on top of the image and covers about 1/3 of the image’s left side. A slide effect, handled by the function Slide, targets the PF_Text_Panel div. The function Slide is triggered by an onClick event allowing the user to slide the description to the left and reveal the entire image.
The function Slide contains an if statement. The if statement is used to determine if PF_Text_Panel is open or closed using the variable SldPnlState as a flag like this; if the variable SldPnlState ==1, then run Slide. The other part of this function, which actually slides the div is an instance of the Slide Effect, inserted using Dreamweaver CS4.
The variable SldPnlState is set using the function setSldPnlState
The function setSldPnlState, initiated by an onClick, passes a value to the variable SldPnlState, in this case it can be set to either 0 or 1 by separate onClick events
To test if the variable SldPnlState is being passed from the onClick event to the variable I included the function printVar which writes the value of the variable SldPnlState to the screen.
I believe that the Spry effect Slide portion of the function works because if I go into the code and manually set the variable SldPnlState to 1 the function Slide works and if I set it to 0 the function Slide does not work.
This the bug:
printVar indicates that the value is being passed the variable SldPnlState, it displays either a 1 or 0 as expected.
The function Slide does not work however, when the variable SldPnlState should be set by the onClick event passing the value using the function setSldPnlState. It does not seem like the value is being passed from the onClick event triggering the function or that somehow the script stops running.

Thanks so much for taking a look at this. The whole reason I am doing this is that I couldn't find a state indicator flag in the Spry.Effect.DoSlide effect.
I see that the htmlPanel does not have a bearing on the problem as you mentioned but not having the javascript doesn't matter either. I am using the Spry.Effect.DoSlide effect, it is in the head, in the function with the if statement, and it is making the div"PF_Text_Panel slide which works fine including the if statement. If I set the var SldPnlState = (1) it works set it to 0 and the slide effect is disabled. I need to be able to change the variable using an onclick event.
The problem as you mention is with the function SldPnlState = flagToggle; This is what I need to do. I need to pass a value to the variable SldPnlState from an onclick event. As the function Slide is set up, with an if statement, the div will slide if SldPnlState=1 and the slide function will turn off if SldPnlState=0. However when I do the onclick="setSldPnlState(1);"event there is no effect on the Slide function. The value seems to pass to the variable tSldPnlState since I can get the value of this same variable to display using the function printVar() which will display 1 or 0 depending on which onclick event I run. It seems like the I can pass the variable from the onclick event it's just that if statement in the function MM_effectSlide never sees it. I don't know enough to trouble shoot this. But I will take a closer look at the SldPnlState = flagToggle; part as you suggest.

The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

Passing Query to CFC

I am passing a query to a cfc. When I dump the query in the
cfc it looks fine. However, when I attempt to loop over the query I
get the following error: Complex object types cannot be converted
to simple values.
The expression has requested a variable or an intermediate
expression result as a simple value, however, the result cannot be
converted to a simple value. Simple values are strings, numbers,
boolean values, and date/time values. Queries, arrays, and COM
objects are examples of complex values.

It has nothing to do with your query. This
<cfargument name="newjobNo" required="yes"
type="string">
does not match this
Set Job_Key = #ARGUMENTS.jobNo#
Also, your argument specifies a string but your sql does not
have quotes.
Finally, since you are setting all the records to the same
new job number, instead of running a query inside a loop, it is
probably more efficient to run one query which includes something
like
where custno in
(#ValueList(arguments.yourquery.custno)#)

Trouble passing iteration values between two separate VI's

Hello,
I'm having a bit of trouble passing a while loop iteration value from one vi to another.
I have tried creating a sub-vi of the "B VI" and dropping the icon into the main vi (in picture called "A VI") and just pull the itereation value out this way. So far no luck as an error occurs which causes Labview to crash.
I've spent a lot of time trying to use invoke nodes, globals and VI server references but I haven't gotten them to work either.
In the pictures below "A VI" is the main acquisition application. "B VI" is the motor control application. Each VI will run at the same time but with their own front panel. Anyway, I would like to pass the while loop iteration value (Called "Steps") from the "B VI" to the "A VI" (essentially use this itereation value to keep track of the number of motor rotations.)
So far no luck so any help would be appreciated.

The only thing that is in B that i'd like to import into A is the "STEPS" iteration value. (its circled in green).
I'm looking to have this iteration value (from B) updated as A's loop runs.
I use the outside while loop instead of hitting the run continuously button....habit i guess
Right now I'm getting stuck on using Vi references....I've modeled examples fromt the forums and i just can't get it to work....its driving me nuts.

I am having trouble Passing URL Parameters between Applications for BW queries as data sources. I know I am getting the data from the sending application correctly, because I an printing to the screen using a Text Component.

So, I would expect it is my receiving code, but I am not sure.

Trouble passing a varible to INSERT page

I'm a novice and I'm having trouble passing a varible from
one page into the database.
I ultimately want to pass the word "Appliances" into the
database field name called CATEGORY.
The user clicks on: www.xyz.com/main.cfm?category=Appliances
to go to the next page. Then the next page has a <form> in it
and that same page has <CFSET category=#category#>. But when
the form posts the info into the database with the <CFINSERT>
on the next page, CATEGORY is empty.
I've tried: CFSET form.category=#category#>, CFSET
form.category="#category#"> and some other things. I've even
thought of doing this: <FORM
ACTION="insert.cfm?category=#category#" method="post">, but that
didn't work either (I thought I was pretty smart when I thought of
that). :-)
Now, I have JUST learned that I can use the <INPUT
TYPE="hidden" NAME="category" VALUE="#category#"> to pass it BUT
why didnt a simple CFSET statement set the variable and pass it to
the CFINSERT?

yes, <cfinsert> tag only inserts FORM values, that is
values defined in
the FORM scope variables (form fields, effectively). it will
not insert
any values defined in any other scopes.
a form will POST (submit) only data in its fields. that is
why the
variable you set with CFSET is not submitted - it is not a
form field.
so in order to use cfinsert you must have all data you want
to insert
into db in form fields. as you have found out, you can have
hidden form
fields to post/submit data too.
you could also pass the variable as part of the query string
of the
action page: <form
action="youractionpage.cfm?yourvar=<cfoutput>#yourvar#</cfoutput>"
method="post">, but that variable will be available on the
action page
inside URL scope, not FORM scope. in order for CFINSERT to
insert that
variable in this case, just add <cfset form.yourvar =
url.yourvar>
BEFORE your CFINSERT tag on your action page.
et voila - your variable is part of the form scope now and
gets inserted
with cfinsert tag.

Using CFCs statically without cfinvoke

We have a set of CFCs that we use as an application API.
Currently, the way I use them is by instantiating them in the
application scope and then creating aliases (for shortened syntax)
like this:

and then in the application, I call methods like this:
<cfset qCompany = $Company.GetCompanyDetails(cmpid)>
-- All of the objects are intented to be used statically and
have no instance data, but to use them like this, I've obviously
having to create an instance (using CreateObject or cfobject).
-- The reason I don't use CFInvoke to call methods statically
is because I think that it makes the code much more difficult to
read.
-- The one concern I have of using the objects in the way
that I am (by creating instances of them and putting those
instances into application scope) is that if I forget to "var" any
variables in a method, then I have just created "instance data" on
the object, and things could get really tough to debug when
unexpected behavior starts occurring in the application.
-- I 'm trying to find a solution to reference my CFCs, and
then access them later statically without creating an instance at
all. Has anyone ever come up with a solution for this?
-- As a "last resort", I could always create the objects in
Request scope, but there's obviously some performance overhead
there.

Can you expand on that? I'm sorry but I am new and a novice to the SSIS world and I want to do this as best I can and as efficiently as I can. Are you saying that Rajen's way suggested above is the way to go?
A little background....external data from a 3rd party client. I'v staged that external data to a SQL Server staging table. I have to try and match that data up to our database using SSN, DOB, and Gender...and if I can't match that way then I have to try
and match by Name. I need to make sure that there is only one and only one account for that match. If I cannot match and match one and only one, then I'll create rows on a DataAnomaly Table. If I do match, then I have to check and make sure that there is only
one and only one Member span for that match. Similarly handle the data anomaly and then check and make sure there is a "Diabetes" claim and similarly handle the DataAnomaly accordingly.
That's where I'm at. Sooooo are you saying to use Rajen's suggestion? I don't think I can do that because I need multiple SQL tasks and I cannot connect multiple OLE DB Source tasks.

That is only present if you have already updated to iOS 5 or later. If you're on iOS 4 you can only update while connected to your computer's iTunes.

How to pass radiobuttons using a submit statements.

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me how to pass radiobuttons using Submit statement.
My problem is that I am able to pass one select option and one parameter using the statement:
submit (v_repid) to sap-spool without spool dynpro
                   spool parameters s_print_parms
                   using selection-screen '1000' WITH SELECTION-TABLE t_rspar_tab
                   and return.
This selection screens got to check selections based on 2 radio buttons available in the selection screen which also i need to pass through SUBMIT.Please let me know how do i pass this to the Submit statement.

Cannot pass Value Using getURL() in Flex 2.0

I have pasted a piece of code to pass value using query
string,I am sure there wouldn't be any problem with code.But I get
error calling getURL() method.

See the docs for details.
Also, I think you are mixing Flex 1.5 and 2.0. 2.0 does not
use a server, and you do not call mxml file directly. Instead you
compile the swf with FlexBuilder or the command line compiler, and
call the html wrapper.

Staroffice Basic, Calc, passing and using ranges

Okay, I was trying to transfer a VBA function from Excel to StarOffice.
The routine call looks like this:

That is, there are three ranges, and a value input.
Here is my attempt at STAROFFICE's version of this routine

That is, the input cell ranges are 1-D arrays, and Tay_1A was implicitly defined. So I just used them as arrays, and no problem.
Here, no matter what I try to do with my code, including getting a cell reference by position and taking its value or whatnot, I still get errors.
I think it is becoming clear to me that I don't understand how to pass and use range references in StarBasic.
If anybody could help me out with understanding passing and using these range references, I'd appreciate it.

Follow the steps below - (I am assuming that you are using BI queries in your model & your tabs are as per quarter - one tab for each quarter)
1. Create one radio button & in entry list create static list as 1 - Quarter 1, 2 - Quarter 2 & so on.
2. Now you want plan Vs actual in one graph & Currency in another. So create these reports for each quarter separately, so in all you will have 8 reports (2 for each quarter)
3. IN the layout you have to arrange it vary carefully, you take all the 'Plan Vs Actual' report for all the quarters & arrange them exactly one over the other. Same for Currency reports also.
4. NOw Give visibility condition for each report example - if report is for first quarter then condition will be - bool(if(radio button string=="1",true,false)) & assign the default value in radio button as 1. so that at the time of execution you will get these reports by default.
5. Like wise give condition for all.
6. When you execute this report you will get radio buttons at the top & as you select different buttons differents report will get opened.
7. As you have plased these exactly one over the other, user will not come to know these are different reports.
Try this method, if you have any doubts for this, please do ask me.

I had program runnning fine in labview version 5.0, Recently i updated to labview version 6.0, but when i opened file i will see many warnings like above.
I saved the file as 6.0, all the warnings are gone and program compiles as well but i am not sure saving as 6.0 eliminate those problems like..."value will not be coereced when passed to subvis"

It means that some of your controls use coercion to alter data if it is not within a range. In LV 5.0 this worked for either typing the data into the control or passing it through the connector as a sub-vi. In 6.0 the data won't be coerced if it has been passed through the connector as a sub-vi, only if it is entered on the front panel. If your sub-vis relied on this coercion to operate properly then you will need to add the "In Range and Coerce" function to your block diagram to manipulate these values. If the coercion wasn't important then disregard the warning.

You cannot avoid the rounding here.
If you want to do so increase the decimal place of num to 4.
