Trouble with 8i dbms_system call

Question

Hello.
I am using 8i. I am trying to trace a different user but I need to turn on their Timed_Statistics.
I try:
call sys.dbms_system.set_BOOL_PARAM_IN_SESSION(298,8491,'TIMED_STATISTICS', true)
And I get 'ORA-06576: not a valid function or procedure name' which seems to refer to the 'true'.
Any ideas?

1. It exists in 8.1.7.4
2. Yes
3. SET_BOOL_PARAM_IN_SESSION exists in 8.1.7.4 (I still have some production 8i databases :-) )

Replace CALL with EXEC
SQL> select * from v$version where banner like 'Oracle%';
