Trouble with a SELECT stament?Is this is a bug or am i an idiot

DB version:10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0
I have a simple SELECT statement like
SELECT ship_dtl.track_id,{color:#ff0000}_{color}ship_dtl.cons_id from ship_dtl
If there is a space between coma and ship_dtl.cons_id in the query(a red underscore is used above to show the space). This query will give the error
{noformat}ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
{noformat}
But i don't get this issue with other tables. Why is this happening?

It's not a bug. It can't possibly be.
Thousands, if not millions, of Oracle developers have been writing queries with or without spaces between their columns in the select clause for a long time now without any issue.
The fact that Oracle is reporting the table is not found indicates that there's some other issue at hand.
What version of SQL*Plus are you using against your 10.2.0.3 database? Maybe that's out of date and has a bug or is incompatible with 10.2.0.3. for some reason.
What user/schema owns the table and what user is running the SQL?
What permissions are on the table?
What synomyms exist?
Is there a problem with keyboard mappings on your client or the language settings on client or Oracle server, so the space isn't really a space character?
How about taking your query with the space and doing...
select dump('SELECT ship_dtl.track_id, ship_dtl.cons_id from ship_dtl;') from dual;and seeing what each character is in the string, just to confirm it's a chr 32 (space).
There may be other reasons too...

I recommend this advice if the incorrect time is being set automatically:

IDCS4 Mac - Having trouble with a selection suite.

Hello Everyone: I have implemented a very basic selection suite. Trouble with lasso selection, quick selection, and error messages (saying selection is empty)

Hi there
I am trying to sect a person out of a picture and paste it into this collage picture I am working on. First i tried using the quick selection tool but I guess my man that I am trying to cut out has too many colors: when I go to use the quick selection it immediately goes into a box around the entire picture. I even tried painting the rest of the photo black with the exception of the man, but still the same results with the quick selection. Then I tried the lasso but nine times out of ten it would stop and make an odd selection. when I finally did get a good lasso selection (done after much cursing) then CS6 told me that "the selection is empty" . What? I did make a new layer before I did the selection.
Can you help me resolve these issues?
I just downloaded CS6 just a day ago and have a lot to learn, but i have worked with Paint.net and Paint Shop Pro for the past two years so I am familiar with paint and photo editing software.

Please don't submit your request in green. It is a needless distraction.
Currently you are trying to make a selection in a blank layer.
Return to the image layer, not the blank one you created, and you will be able to make a selection.
Once selected, hit Cmd+J to put your selected object on a new layer. I think that is what you had in mind.

It is strongly suggested that you remove all connections from your router except the one for the computer you are using! Not removing the other connections from the router can cause a corrupted firmware, and the dreaded flashing diag light.
3.) Double clicc on/open up the TFTP.exe file. Enter your password (admin if you haven't changed it), use the browse feature to find the (latest)firmware you just downloaded. Then, click on "upgrade". You should see a progress bar, then the message that you have successfully upgraded your router.

I have this select instruction:
SELECT * from TABELLA where NOME=:name;
There is a " special character " that if put into the WHERE condition , the SELECT instruction returns to me all the records ??
For instance , like the where condition would not exists.

Try to use LIKE instead of = sign. For instance:
SELECT * from TABELLA where NOME like :name;
you can use % (zero or more of any symbols) or _ (any one symbol) metacharacters in value of :name

I just entered the podcast world. I am having trouble with my rss code. This is the error i recieve from itunes when trying to submit the url. Error Parsing Feed: invalid XML:Error line 64:XML documents must start and end within the same entity

Please when you have a query post the URL of your feed, not its contents. Is this your feed? -

You have a number of cases of a string of spaces in titles: you also have one in a URL which will render that link invalid.
But what is rendering the whole feed unreadable is your category link:
<category>Science & Medicine</category>
The presence of an ampersand ('&') by itself indicates the start of a code sequence, and in the absence of one, and its closing character, invalidates everything which follows, and thus the entire feed. You must replace the ampersand with the code
&
Additionally, your opening lines should read thus:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
(with the 'purl.org' line if you like).
If you are going to submit a feed to iTunes you might want to reconsider have 'test' in the filename: apart from the Store having a tendency to reject obvious test podcasts which may not reflect the finished version, you will be stuck with this URL and though you can change the feed URL it's an additional hassle.

Problem with JMenus that Persist - Is this a Java bug?

I am having a problem with JMenus that persist. By this I mean
that my drop down menus persist on the screen even after they have
been selected.
I've checked the Java bug database, and the following seems
to come closest to my problem:

This page says that the matter is closed and is not a bug. The

2. Is this a bug?
3. What's the workaround if I have to paint() or repaint()?

Well, my understanding of the way painting works is that a component doesn't UNPAINT itself. Instead a message is sent to the component under the coordinates of the menu to REPAINT itself.
In your demo program the JFrame is the component under the JMenu. The paintComponent() method of JFrame is empty, so nothing gets repainted.
I added super.paintComponent(g); to the method and everything works fine.

Big trouble with DENON DN-X1700 USB mixer/soundcard - CoreAudio bugs like in OS X 10.5.7

I am using a DENON DN-X1700 mixer w/ USB 2.0 soundcard as main input+output in OS X 10.7.4, and it seems CoreAudio is buggy like in Mac OS X 10.5.7 . I'll explain the facts.
The main issues are:
1) Sound crackles and distorts;
2) I cannot hear ANY signal is volume is not set to 100%
3) Bug(?) in MIDI Control Panel.
When I plugged the mixer into the USB port, OS X immediately recognized it as input and output device. To configure it, I opened the MIDI Control Panel (Utilities -> MIDI Audio Control Panel) and the following window appeared:

I mistakenly selected the other "Device" as clock source and the sound stopped working. By re-selecting the main "Device" (this makes some confusion, because both sources are named "Device") the sound still doesn't work.
I managed to get it to re-work by selecting "48 kHz" as sampling frequency and then re-selecting "44.1 kHz", but now the sound crackles, distorts and is very bad even at low volumes. (Mixer is set to 44.1 kHz)
In addition, I cannot modify the volumes for the 8 channels. Why?
I need to wipe out the DN-X1700 configuration to go back as OS X never saw it. How can I do this?
Before my mistake in selecting the other clock source, I could hear the sound, but ONLY if the volume slider was set to 10 (100%). Even at 99%, no master output was present.

Trouble with Feedburner.

I'm having trouble with Feedburner.
I know this is not strictly connected to any Apple product, and it is not a iTunes problem... but I tryed to fix this since 4 days... without any result!
I'm the responsible for the website of my church, and I'm using Blogger for the blog, and Feedburner to produce the podcast link for iTunes. For the last 10 years I used it to produce a podcast for our church (in Italy). Had no trouble at all. Some days ago I tried to upload as usual our sunday podcast, but no media was created on the feed.
Looking at the XML source on Feedburner ther is no enclosure, while on the original post I put a media file storede on MediaFire (this one: http://www.mediafire.com/download/hgbgff4qptw2fy8/testimoniareanatale.mp3)
PodMedic says this: "Content Type reported: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Media enclosure not created because: The content type returned from your host server was a text type, not a binary media type. Podcast content should always return a binary media type, such as audio/mpeg for audio, or video/mpeg for video."
I tried all I could: stored file on a different storages (I normally use MediaFire), took all the other elements on the page connected to the feed that could interfere, checked several times if the media enclosure is mp3 (yes, and it works smootly on the blog), put the link straight on the blog page instead of on the title), piged and resync hundred of times... everything. But no solution at all. No media enclosure, they say.
I also tried to post an old media file which is working on a different post to see how Feedburner react: no media enclosure has been created even for this one.
There is anybody who struggled with the same issue?

None of your episodes work when subscribing. The media file URLs in the feed are Feedproxy ones, which lead to URLs in the same form as the one you quote above. These bring up a web page with links to download or play, not an .mp3 file.
Since the previous episodes appear in the feed it suggests that you originally had Mediafire set to provide a direct link to the feed but that you've somehow changed it to providing the page with the links, which won't work: then subsequently trying to add a new episode in Blogger has failed as it can't now see an mp3 file.
So you need to look into MediaFire. When you enter the URL for you media file into Safari it must play directly in Safari, not bring up a web page.

Trouble with Cross-References

FM11 / DITA 1.2
What could cause a particular cross reference to consistently NOT work? I know that's vague. I'll try to give a more specific example:
Let's say I have a collection of xrefs across several XML files in a DITA map. Some xrefs might even point to the same item (usually a <title> tag with an ID attribute). On output to a book with FM components, particular xrefs just will not work (they output as "unresolved"). I can fix it manually in the FM file, but I'd rather it work correctly in the first place, especially since I deal with translation in to several languages, and if I can't get an xref to just work, I have to fix it many, many times.
I've tried deleting the xref and starting again; I've tried changing the ID attribute in case there was some kind of conflict...I still have trouble with that particular xref (and this happens with more than one xref). What else can I try?
Again, I know this is vague. I'd be happy to elaborate on relevant points. I just don't currently have time to write a massive description and I want to get this question out.

Are you up to date on your FM11 patches? It's hard to say what could be causing this problem .. does sound strange.
While this shouldn't be the problem, you might try linking your xref to the container "topic" element (topic, concept, task, whatever is the immediate parent of the title you're pointing at). While in theory you should be able to xref to a title, that's not really the intent, your cross-ref is referencing a "topic" not the title within the topic. The same goes for a figure or table, you reference the fig or table element not the title within those elements.
I'd assume that the code in the FM-DITA plugin was designed to work by referencing the container ,it probably wasn't tested the way you're doing it, and there may be some flakiness that would cause this to not always work.
Give it a try .. let us know how it goes.

"Dynamic List Box with Single Selection" Survey Suite in CRM 6.0

I am using CRM 6.0. There in Survey Suite there are 2 answering options "Dynamic List Box with Single Selection" & "Dynamic List Box with Multiple Selection". I am able to make out, how we can assign values to this. I have seen example "Example_Dynamic_survey" also.
I believe we have to use programming for populating this. But how do we have to carry that out.

Hi Hitesh,
There is no need of programming for populating values for Answer category 'List Box with Single Selection' or 'List Box with Multiple Selection'. You have to follow the following steps to populate values for those:
- In the Answer Category select List Box with Single Selection from drop down list
- Then on left hand side tree, right click on Answer and select Insert Answer Option (Answer->Insert Answer Option)
- Then on right side, provide Text for the answer (value)
- To add more values, repeat the process Answer->Insert Answer Option and providing text for those answers in the right side.
Similarly you can populate values for 'List Box with Multiple Selection' also.
This has to be done in the transaction CRM_SURVEY_SUITE.

Trouble with ScanJet 5590!!!

Hi, i have a next trouble with scanjet 5590:
After installed, this scanner worked a few days and then HP scan utility show the error 8, [(0,3,-2147467259)]. When i reinstall him - all be ok, but after a few days trouble appeared again.
PC: Win 7 Pro x64. Also connected HP LaserJet 400.

To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.

Since installing the new OS i am having troubles with different appliction icons showing up on my main page twice (upper left corner), and not allowng me to select certain ones (app store specifically). Anyone else having this issue?

Help - anyone else out there having trouble with the new OS system on their ipad 2? I am not getting mutliple copies of several apps ont he main page. They are "collecting: in a pike int he upper left corner and the original application icon is no lobger working. I have tried a hard sync, and that didn't help.

It should only be able to have one copy of an app on the iPad. Have you tried a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Do all the apps work ? In the past a few people have taken a screen shot of their iPad screen and that has then become their background picture - so some of the 'app's may actually be on your wallpaper picture and not actual apps. Have you tried changing the wallpaper to see if that makes any difference ?

A trouble with "LIKE" in a select statement

I'm having trouble with "LIKE" in a select statement...
With Access I can make the following and everything works well:
SELECT name, birthday
FROM client
WHERE birthday LIKE '*/02/*';
but if try to do it in my application (it uses Access), it doesn't work - I just can't understand that!!!
In my application the "month" is always the currently month taken from the "System". Look what I'm doing...

I'll bet the problem lies with the characters you're using to escape the LIKE clause. You're using the ones that Access likes to see, but that's not necessarily what's built into the JDBC-ODBC driver class.
You can find out what the correct escape wildcard characters are from the java.sql.DatabaseMetaData.getSearchStringEscape() method. It'll tell you what to use in the LIKE clause.
I'm not 100% sure about your code. It doesn't use query1 anywhere. I'd do this:
String query = "SELECT name, birthday FROM client WHERE birthday LIKE ? ORDER BY birthday ASC";
PreparedStatement statement = connection.createStatement(query);
String escape = connection.getMetaData().getSearchStringEscape();
String test = escape + '/' + pMonth + '/' + escape;
statement.setString(1, test);
ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery();
while (rs.hasNext())
// load your data into a data structure to pass back.
rs.close();
