Trouble with exact timing with photos & music, iMovie 09

Hello all,
I'm putting a birthday present together for my wife's 30th birthday. It'll be a photo album to music. I'm trying to synchronize the photo transitions to the music (every other musical bar, the photo shifts). I'm trying to do this by manually changing the time each photo is on the screen (is there any easier way?). But for some reason, I cannot change the length for a photo to be on screen for between x.0 and x.2 seconds (e.g., I cannot set a photo to be on for 4.1 seconds, or 4.2 seconds - iMovie automatically reverts these to 4 seconds. Similarly, 5.1 and 5.2 are impossible).
Is this a bug?
Any ideas what's going on and how to get around this?

When iMovie is doing transitions, the transition can generally be no longer than half the length of an adjacent clip or photo, because it will "borrow" frames from the adjacent clips for the transition. This is really the way you would want it to work for video, because you don't want to edit something out and have it reappear in a transition. However, you have additional options with the EDIT/TRANSITION OVERLAP menu item. (This is in iMovie 11, I don't think it was in iMovie 09, sorry.) You can choose for a transition to shorten your project, or to maintain project duration by adding additional frames. There may be a way to do this in iMovie 09, but I can't remember.
However, let me suggest something. If you want to change photos to the music, don't use transitions at all. Use beat markers instead. This feature is definitely in iMovie 09.

Probably because they don't accept that media.
Try using Verbatim DVD+DL (if your project exceeds 2 hours) or Verbatim DVD-R if it doesn't.

Has anyone had trouble with photo albums and viewing photos after downloading a newer version of iPhoto?

I downloaded mountain lion and then iPhoto '11 in order to tap into iCloud capabilities with all of my devices. (My Mac was outdated in regards to operating platform to do this). After installing iPhoto 11, I had to repair and rebuild my library of photos. However, after doing this, all of my albums were jumbled and, while I can see the image thumbnail, when I click on the thumbnail, and error that looks like a black triangle and gray exclamation pops up as opposed to the larger hi def image I want to view.

Issue with photos in iMovie - looks normal in timeline but won't play

I'm having an issue with importing photos into iMovie. I've done it many a time without trouble but suddenly, when I really need it...ahh!
The problem is with a video I've already exported once—I'm not sure if that's related. I created a slide in Powerpoint, made it into a jpg, then dragged it into my timeline (also something I've done before without issue). It looks totally normal in the timeline, but when I play the video it shows a still from the previous clip instead of my photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Gah. This is where I'm at...I'm using the code from above and
my mp3 sound file is ID'd in the linkage properties as monkey7.mp3
and it's still not working.
What buttons should be checked in the Linkage properties? If
my id is monkey7.mp3 and I check the Export for ActionScript
button, my sound file plays multiple times and it still won't stop.
If I do the same thing but ID it as "monkey7.mp3", it plays
correctly but won't stop.
I don't know if this matters but my mc where my sound file is
located is one frame. Is that correct?
I'm sure the code is correct but I'm missing something and I

Trouble with nokia music

have the same problem in my Nokia lumia 800 . When I click to download in Nokia music there's a error I.e. Activation problem ..this phone is already resistered with Nokia music unlimited subscription.

Every time I export a slideshow with photos,music and movies to i tunes it quits, after waiting 3 or 4 hours it just quits

Question. I am unable to export a slideshow of photos, music and movies to i tunes. I wait hours watching the blue bar and it quits every time. Has anybody got a simple answer to this problem.

Trouble with photos rendering after transitions inserted

I'm having trouble in general with the program running slow and stuttering. But my biggest problem is that after I insert a transition, the photo (with ken burns effect) doesn't re render itself. so after the transition, the movement of the photo skips back to it's original start position. When I try to view the photo settings, all I see is black.

Trouble with photo albums in front row

Hi,
I am having trouble getting my photo albums to play via front row. I have numerous albums but when i go into them in front row, it just shows up random photos from the album and roll they came from, with none of the album pages showing. The photo roll and the name of the albums is the same ie: roll called sweden, album called sweden, would that be causing a problem, ie: iphoto unsure of which photos to show? They play fine in iphoto, with all of the album pages showing, but not in front row.
I'm not sure whether this is a iphoto prob. or a front row prob....
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting a little frusterated!!

Can you launch the Editor separately then use:
File >> Open
How did you install? From download or disk?
Have you activated the software? This has changed with PSE12 and requires you to sign-in with your Adobe ID (email address and password)

Trouble with photos taking up double space on iPhone

Had to reinstall Windows 7 today. I have iTunes on one drive and all my media on another. Done this a few times and always just synced moved the folders about & synced with no trouble. Today has been a nightmare and what took 30 mins to sync photos to my iPhone 6 on Friday, has so far taken at least 3 hours and double the space has been taken up.
I can't see any duplicates on my pc or phone. On iTunes it was showing 25gb for 'other' which is the same size as my photos. Not sure what it reads now as I can't click anything until it finishes. But my iPhone is showing way too much on the photos section. Can anyone help please?!

Nobody? The photos show as 22gb when viewing my iPhone on iTunes and 'other' 25gb. on my iPhone, photos show as 47gb. The day before they were about 25gb on my iPhone.Definitely not right!

Trouble with photo sharing preferences in iTunes

My apple TV is not recognising my home sharing for photos. It's fine to recognise music, tv, filmes etc but not my iphotos library. This has only been happening over the last month or so and I think it was since I upgraded to a newer versiou on itunes.
In itunes I go to file > homes sharing > choose photos to share with apple tv .......
the Photo Sharing Preferences box then opens but then I just get is the spinning cog showing it's trying to connect but nothing happens and all I get is a continuous blank screen with the spinning cog in the middle and greyed out "revert" and "apply" buttons at the bottom.
My photo library is on an external hard drive but this was not a problem previously.
Anyone any ideas on how to reconnect my iphoto to the itunes photo sharing preferences?

... the spinning wheel sydrome - someone must have some answers; I am reading all about this in so many places and no-one has a solid solution to remedy - anyone - just someone?

i cant get my photos off my pearl 8220.my mum bought it for me and she cant work it out either.we have the desktop manager and then go to media and then click on the left one that says for photos.we get something that says ro xio then it goes to a window that says My media library and gives a pictures option but then we are stuck.Can someone give us step by step instructions in words for an 11 year old and an adult who hasnt a clue please that we can print off.we are using a laptop with vista.. thank you

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
The easiest way to retrieve files from a BB is via USB tether where the BB appears like a drive letter (or letters) in Windows -- then you can simply drag-n-drop (or move, copy, etc.) just like everything else in Windows. These instructions are how to get your systems set up to do that:

Trouble with ä,ö,ü in Music Manager after updating...

Hi, it seems there is a bug in the Nokia Music Manager after updating the PC Suite to version 7.1.26.0. The german special characters (Umlaute) like ä, ö, ü, ß are no more correctly saved or displayed in the file names and tags.
Can you help?

Zen micro 6gb trouble with transfering music to the player pls h

I bought on ebay. It's used i download the cd installation. Tried to transfer with media explorer and windows media player, it wont work. The player seems "locked" when ever its connected it wont show the music inside of it, just displays the folders. I cant create, delete, add music whatsoever it keeps saying i/o error folder is exited or removed, and when i try to transfer it says pending for a long time and failed right after. Pls if any can help it would be really appreciated. thx in advance.

Can you flash it with firmware / have you tried that?If a firmware flash works, then try formatting the player. There's plenty of posts about how to do both of these tasks.When that's done, try loading some music. If it still give problems, something serious is wrong. Don't want to sound pesimistic but if it's used and you got it on E-Bay, you could have bought a dud. I've never usedEBay before so forgive me when I ask if you have any sort of comeback - e.g 4 day return period or something. Best of luck

I attempted to sync the photos but it gave me an error message; "Some of your photos were not copied to the ipod because they cannot be displayed on your ipod". Only about 5 photos of 70 made it on the iPod and one had bars through it. My laptop runs Windows Vista basic and my itunes software version is 7.4.1.2. I'm sure this is a Vista issue, any ideas or ways to get my photos on and able to display?
