Trouble with mapping CMR field using Sun One Studio

I am having trouble adding a cmr between 2 entity beans. It is a simple one to one relationship, navigatable in only one direction. In the database I have a foreign key defined between the two tables that store the data for the beans.
I add the relation by selecting the 2 beans and define it as one directional, one to one , with the name "bb". I then map the relationship field via the properties/As Sun One tab. I use the foreign key defined in the database. All seems to be well.
Using Sun One AppServer 7 and Studio 4
Upon deploying the application I receive:
CMP Mapping Error in bean Sites:: Warning: The field bb is not mapped.
Set the column mapping for the field.

The CMR/CMP mappings is very instable.
Sunone Studio 5 has a lot of bugs when mapping CMP/CMR but i never saw this one, try to upgrade.
Please vote for this bug. It's killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liferay has a forum and you should use it - http://forums.liferay.com/ :-)
btw, I have used the liferay portal 3.2.0 with jboss/tomcat with inbuilt and custom portlets and never had such an issue. Note that you application user is not the login user to the portal. by default you have to use [email protected]/test and id/pwd.

  • Build a EJB/ Application with Sun One Studio and deploy to Weblogic

    Dear all,
My boss require me to use Sun One Studio 4 update 1 to do the development, but
I find it's a nightmare to deploy the EJB/ application to the WebLogic 6.1.
I've already installed the weblogic plug-in in the Sun One Studio.
During deploying I could not find any setting that ask me for the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
So I think the deployment will fail.
Is there any others tutorial or e-book that can help me to familiar with the deployment
    process?
Many Thanks for all of you.

  • Sun One studio

where to find the sun-cmp-mapping.xml in the Sun One studio enterprise 6.. I get the following error while validating:
CMP Mapping Error in bean empEntity:: The field deptid has an invalid fetch group. Default is not a valid fetch group for managed fields. If your field is not a managed field, it may be treated as one if you have a CMR to this bean which is mapped to the same column as deptid.
    Select a different fetch group.
I need to change the fetch group for this field, but to no avail.. Please help..

You need to download the J3D separately, I installed in order:
J2SE1.4.2, then Sun ONE Studio 4, then J3D1.3, and wrote code in java3d with forte, and everything compiled quite nicely without having to do any tweaking.

  • Setting output-path in Sun One Studio

    Hi
I didnt find a forum to fit my question, therefor I posted it here.
My problem is that I cant set the output-path for my class-files when Im using Sun ONE Studio 4. I go to Tools-Options-Building-Compiler Types-Internal Compilator and there I find a field named Target. There is no way I can change this since it is only a Compobox with two options: My working directory and -Not Set-
Does anyone know if it is possible to fix this?
    /Pontus

    Hi, PonLin
try to mount your output directory, as you did with your working directory.
I think the Target field of "Tools-Options-Building-Compiler Types-Internal Compilator", only shows the current mounted file systems.
    Bye!!

I have been using Sun One Studio IDE 4 for months, and updated it for several time. Today I mounted a directory and wanted to create a new plain java class under this directory, but it always reported: Error: File in D:\..... is read-only. It never happened before. I am confused. Then I tried to mount other direcotries and create new java files, always got the same error. Could anyone please kindly tell me whats wrong with the Sun One Studio? Thank you very much.

Nobody familiar with Sun One Studio here? I dont want to change IDE and could anyone please kindly help?

  • Wireless toolkit in sun one studio 4 update 1 mobile edition?

I'm starting work on a MIDP 2.0 procect that requires the 2.1 wireless toolkit for JSR-172 (web services) support. I'm currently using Sun One Studio 4 update 1Mmobile Edition with the built-in 1.04 toolkit. Is there any way for me to setup the 2.1 toolkit to work with S1ME4_1?
I know the Early Access release of ME 5 ships with 2.1 toolkit support, but my project extends beyond the 60 day license.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :-)

    Hi,
    1. install the WTK 2.1
    2. In your project in S1ME4_1 in the Explorer
    - select Runtime -> Device Emulator Registry -> Installed Emulators
    - click right on that and choose "Add... Emulator" and enter your path to the WTK 2.1 (normally you have then a new "installed emulator" (J2ME WTK2.1)
    3. Open the "Default Emulator" and change it by clicking right on the one mentioned.
    4. add the midpapi20.jar from the lib directory of WTK2.1 to the classpath (i.e. by mounting)
    Hope it works.

  • Using JMF API with Sun One Studio v4 update 1 (community ed.)

Having great difficulty trying to utilise the JMF API I've just downloaded with Sun One Studio v4, update 1 (community edition).
After installing the API, I tried copying the the .jar files under the lib folder of JMF to the lib folder of sun one studio.
Although admittedly a novice in the field of adding API's I have attempted to add the .jar files into the libary of recognised modules but made no progress.
The problem is that although JMF API is installed, Sun One Studio does not seem to be aware of this and so does not recognise any associated libraries e.g. java.media or JMFApplet.
I would appreciate advice from anyone who knows how to configure Sun One Studio to utilise the JMF API.
    Mark

All right, I think I may have solved it. After mounting jmf.jar I needed to update the parser database. All the libraries seem to be there.
Can someone clarify though, the trial program i'm using makes reference to: java.media
I don't have this module. I do instead have javax.media which I believe includes all the methods of the java version. Am I right or am I missing this crucial module??

  • Adding CMP-fields to a EJB in sun ONE studio 5

I have a CMP EJB, and initialized its fields against a table in a database (PointBase). When I later try adding additional fields, these fields naturally doesnt exist in the database.
Then i make a test-module for the CMP EJB. When I try mapping the CMP-fields, I get in trouble with the field that doesnt exist in the database-table.
How can I get around this problem, must I really manually update the database schema, or can I somehow "tell" SUN ONE studio to make the field for me.

yes, but is there a way of letting J2EE handle all
this "Under the hood", so i dont even have to worry
about the internal datastructure in the database? You could drop the table from the database and then have Studio or deploytool create the tables (now with the additional fields) on deployment.

  • Fail to run my first Servlet with Sun ONE Studio 4 Update 1 (+ bi Tomcat)

    Hello !
I failed to run my first Servlet with Sun ONE Studio 4 update 1 ( with built in Tomcat)
I think that I followed most of the online instructions,
so I successfully run a JSP file,
but I failed with my first servlet:
    The error message is:
"Standard Wrapper[:MyServlet]: Marking servlet MyServlet as unavailable
javax.servlet.ServletException: Wrapper cannot find servlet class com.hemmerling.myservlet.MyServlet
or a class it depends on
So please dont ask me for the code of the servlett ( simply taken from a book),
but tell me why the one-and-only servlett was not found. what might I have done wrong, if I did everything I did to run the JSP file, too ?
Of couse I copied the file into the "Classes" directory of the Webmodule ( WEB-INF ) and "processed" it, so that I was able to execute it.
    Any suggestions ?
    Tia
    Sincerely
    Rolf

    Tough to say, but try:
    1. Put the servlet in a package. If you're using the default package (class file in WEB-INF/classes directory, then Tomcat may not find it.
    2. Check out web.xml to ensure the <servlet> and <servlet-mapping> entries are correct.
    3. Make the servlet as simple as possible so you're sure that it is the servlet itself that cannot be found and not some other class that it uses.
    Good Luck

  • A problem when using Sun One to create a Servlet?

I have the Sun One Application Server installed on my computer. I used the Sun One Studio to create my first Servlet: HelloServlet. The steps are as following:
1)First, the filesystem I mounted on Sun One Studio is:
    D:\myProgram\John\JohnEJB1.
2)Then I created a folder(or package) under it, its called client. I created a html file, hello.html under this client folder, which will call a servlet later. Immediately, I transferred this client folder to a Web Module. So there is a WEB-INF under the D:\myProgram\John\JohnEJB1 in the Sun One Studio. This WEB-INF of course has one classes folder and one lib folder.
    3) Under this classes folder, which is used to save all the Servlet classes, I put my HelloServlet.java.
    4) in the web.xml, I put the following:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>MyHello</servlet-name>
    <display-name>MyHello</display-name>
    <servlet-class>samServlet. HelloServlet </servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name> MyHello </servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/samTest</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    5) Again, in the html file hello.html mentioned earlier, I put the Action like this: <FORM METHOD="GET" ACTION="/samTest">
    6) Finally, I deployed this WEB-INF to the Sun One Application Server.
But when I went to the url: http://localhost: 80/client/hello.html to test it, when I clicked the Form Button, in other words, when the html file called the Servlet, it failed. It reported some error like NoClassDefFoundError.
Anyone who can point out which part was wrong here? I know its a very basic problem. So I really appreciate your help.

The classes folder should contain class files, not java files.

  • Use Sun Java Studio 2 with Existing Java Application

I have started using Sun Java Studio 2 and having fun and little difficulty creating a new Java web application from scatch. My question is where do I find information on Java Studio configuration to allow Java Studio to load up and modify Java server pages/forms in an existing Java application that I did not write?
The Java application has been created with Javabeans and using BEA Weblogic version 7, with a SQL-Server 2000 database backend.
Below is a bit of code out of one of the main Java forms.
    <%@ page buffer="256kb" autoFlush="false" errorPage="../../common/system/error.jsp"
    import="psdi.jsp.beans.*, psdi.jsp.common.*, psdi.jsp.app.wotrack.*, psdi.jsp.util.* , psdi.mbo.* , psdi.util.* "%>
I have looked around and have not found what I need to setup in Java Studio to allow me to load up a form and view it in the Visual designer, I keep getting errors on the psdi. references and cannot load up any pages.
I see on the server install ia folder under the main root <DIR> called <apps>, and inside the <apps> folder is a folder called <jsp> and in the <jsp> folder are sub folders for each main module within the application with all the related .jsp files. I have been manually editing the .jsp files using Windows Notpad and saving the changes. Then I rebuild the .ear file and my changes work fine. Since I have a lot of changes to make there has to be a better way than using Notpad.
My hope is somewhere is a point-by-point document on what to so I can use Sun Java Studio 2 to make my changes in a visual IDE.
Any assistance would really be appreciated.

    Hi Giri,
Yep, this I know,b ut when I do I get errors messages and am looking for some form of point-bypoint instuction that better explains how to setup up custom libraries in Sun Java Studio, custom tags, etc.
