Trouble with Selecting Multiple frames at once

Adobe says, that you can select a group of frames, edit 1 frame from the group, and it will apply that for the rest of them.
In order to do this, it says have one frame selected, the Shift-click another one.
I had a frame selected, and then I shift-clicked another. Nothing is highlighting.
What am I doing wrong?

In the ANIMATION (FRAMES) panel, when I click on one, then Shift click on another one I get all of them in between.
I hate to ask the obvious question, but did you try the other Shift key?
Can you Control click and select a single additional frame?
Have you tried clicking on all different parts of the frames?
Perhaps posting a screen grab showing what your state of affairs when you're trying to select frames would be helpful.
And of course, there's always the good ol' fallback: Reset Photoshop preferences to defaults.

Trouble with editing multiple frames

Hi guys,
I'm new to CS4 - learnt my flash many years ago on Flash 5. So anyway I'm trying to get used to the new Motion Tween function and having a few problems.
I've created a simple animation where an object fades in, stays put for a moment and then fades out (one motion tween with 4 keyframes). I now want to resize the movie clip across all of these keyframes cos I got it wrong to start with.
So I click 'Edit Multiple Frames' (everything disappears but that's for another question), drag the onion thingy across the timeline and select the frames on the layer I want to edit. I then click on the free transform tool and drag the invisible movie clip (you can see the outline!) to make it larger.
Result? Well it seems to scale the first frame, but the others are all left at the original scale. Hence animation now shows object fading in whilst getting smaller etc. etc.
There must be an easy way to do this. I've tried the motion editor but you have to do it keyframe by keyframe. Any suggestions?

Modifying an entire animation with motion tweens is not as easy as it used to be.
Here's the best answer you are probably going to get.

Scaling an entire animation that does have Scale X or Scale Y animated.
If you have previously scaled anything in the tween, doing this is applied to the first keyframe and the tween would animate to the earlier scaling (the auto-keyframing feature can be a detriment in this situation, especially when it comes to scaling due to the percentages being reset - for this reason Motion Presets also won’t help). In this situation, I recommend scaling using the Motion editor:
1. Go to the Scale X and Y properties in the Motion Editor.
2. Press the Alt key while dragging the curve in each graph up and down. This scales the entire scale animation at the same time (same as edit multiple keyframes).
3. If you need to proportionally scale the motion path for the tween as well, select the path on the Stage and use Free Transform or enter a new value in the Transform panel.
I have had success with the above method, but from what I can tell you can only do one property at a time on one object at a time. So it is an awful amount of work.
As for step 2: while dragging the whole curve it seems the property value is very reluctant to snap to whole integers and I often see values like 200.35%.
Same thing applies for dragging property keyframes up and down in the motion editor. Is there a way to get nice clean numbers? I I want to scale something by 50% I don't want 49.83% I find myself often keying in these values by hand.
For me even though scale X and scale Y are "linked / locked / contstrained" It seems I get mixed results with this feature. Changing scaleX doesn't always change scaleY

Brush Tool with Edit Multiple Frames

I'm doing some masking with the brush tool. Each keyframe I'm drawing a bit more of the mask. My problem is if I go back to the first keyframe and paint something it doesn't appear on the other keyframes.
I thought I found the solution with Edit Multiple Frames, but it doesn't seem to work with the brush tool.

Editing multiple keyframes the way you want is not possible (all the other tools like drawing squares etc. will only appear on the last frame, even if mutiple edit is selected).
Want You want to do is going backward: say: your mask is ten frames long, now navigate to the tenth frame insert a keyframe (you should now have 1 keyframe on the first and one on the tenth, both empty); now draw the last stage of your mask on the tenth frame. Then hold down the Alt key and drag the 10th to the 9th frame. Erase the parts you don`t want hold down Alt-Key and drag the 9th to the eight frame and so on.

Select multiple frames across multiple pages for photos frames

Hi people!
How can i select multiple frames across multiple pages? I want my images to fit the frames by one click. I do not want to go through each page one by one . There must be some way to solve this.. or? Cant find a options that can do that so far?

You can't.
You can do it in Find/Change box. Set desired Frame Fitting Options in Object section and run find/change.

Error with Render Multiple Frames

I have this problem before and the only solution I had was to reinstall the WHOLE system and it was fixed that way (but manually install Adobe CC).
The problem is the next:
After Effects doesn't render anything if I have "Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously" enabled. If click "Render" and it keep there forever and it never render, sometimes it automatically stop with an error:
"After Effects Error: Rendering error while writing to file. An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted (-1610153464)"
This error shows up if I manually stop the rendering process.
If I disable "Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously" it render without any trouble, but that is not the point, I was able to render using that feature without any trouble before and I doubt I should have any trouble with my current specs.
When I close AE, multiple "aeselflink" keep running about 15% each one.
What I'm aware off:
- I have the latest After Effects version from the Creative Cloud.
- I have quicktime installed, since It comes in the core of OSX.
- I have fixed my permissions.
- I have deleted ALL the Adobe folders from "Preferences" Library folder.
- I have reinstalled After Effects 2 times.
- Adobe Media Encoder renders without any trouble
- I have tried to render .mov, tiff sequences, mpeg, flv, all with the same results.
Using OSX 10.8.3 with 32GB RAM and i7 processor (4 cores with 8 cores running with hyper threading).

Stock answer no. 1: You have installed a CoDec (or Quicktime Component) that is not safe for MP rendering and messing up things. Could be an audio device driver, something liek a screen recording software or speech-to-text tool, could be Skype or similar even. check that and remove the relevant QT extensions/ diable them.

Selecting multiple images at once

I am having trouble figuring out how to click and drag the "invisible box" that usually shows up in other apps. I'm wanting to select multiple images and this would make it much easier since sizing and placing makes it difficult to select each image. Hopefully this makes sense as I am unsure what to call it. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

It's okay, I answered my own question. For those who may have the same problem, you have to click on the image before holding the mouse button down and dragging while pressing the command key.

Bi publisher report issues with selecting multiple parameters.

Hi there I have a Bi publisher report when I query it for a single parameter it works fine and gives me the result.
But when I select multiple parameters Lets say I have selected 3 parameters and try to view the results it does nt give me a proper report. It leaves me some blanks and gives me negative values.
The report is working finr for one parameter In order to select two parameters I added the following code in the sql query
and ( coalesce(null, :JOB_ID) is null
or c.JOB_ID in (:JOB_ID)) .
Can some one please let me know if this is correct or should I have to add anything else in the query.
Even if I hard code it by saying JOB ID IN ('x','y','Z') and try to run the report it is not giving me exact values.
BUt when I run the same query in database am getting correct values..
Can anyone help me with this issue please??

Hierarchy node variable: select multiple values at once

Dear,
We have a hierarchy node variable (Multiple single values, optional) on profit center. If I launch this query in the BEx, it is possible to enter multiple single values in one go. However, on the web, it is required to insert a new row for each extra value the we want to select. However, when selecting a filter value on the web, it is possible to select several values at once (by checking a checkbox).
Is it possible to select several values at once in the selection screen on the web for this variable?

we recently had the same requirement and posted the question at SAP. their reply was : this is not possible. even through the exit it was not possible, due to the logic of the sql select when executing the query, it seems.
concerning the fact if this would be possible in a near future, there was no reply

Trouble with Select tool in Acrobat 9

When I try to make a selection in a .pdf, the selection box is randomly sized and placed. For example, I select an area in the middle of the page, but when I let go of the mouse the selection box reduces in size and moves up/down the page. I am selecting an area with graphics, no text. This does not happen with all my .pdf documents, only certain ones that have been created within certain programs (e.g., ArcGIS 9.3 and geoPDF's).
The Snapshot tool works fine, but the resolution of the selection is much poorer than what I get with the Selection tool after I paste the selection into a Word document.
Is there a way to fix this, or change the settings on the Snapshot tool for better resolution so that I can use that tool instead?

I suspect that's not the problem, as I have no trouble selecting an area of any size I wish of images/objects most of the time. The Select tool, at least in Acrobat 9, allows you to do this.

Trouble With " Selection" Printing

I have an HPpsc 1350 all-in-one in use with Windows XP Home Edition SP3. Recently, when I try to "select" a paragraph or two, etc. the printing comes out with type so small it's hard to read. This never was the case in the past, and I'm wondering if my upgrading to Internet Explorer 7 had something to do with this. Can you possibly offer a solution? I have tried everything I can think of to correct this.

I tried to use the HP Universal PS driver with the same result - nothing but random text that consumed far more pages than in the original document.
To clarify my problem, I'm using an HP LaserJet 3200 with the PCL driver hanging off my Windows XP box. I'm able to map it in OS X but whenever I print I get nothing but garbage on multiple pages.
Any additional help is greatly appreciated!

How to Select Multiple Pages at Once

Perhaps a basic question, but I have 6 HTML pages up in the
Dreamweaver 8.0 edit window. The side bar of each pages is
identical. I want to make the same change in all six pages and
would like to do it all at once. I went to simply ctrl+click (pc)
to try and select all the page tabs at once but no luck.
Can I make the same edit to all the open HTML pages I have up
in Dreamweaver at once? How do I do it?

Why not just use a sitewide find-and-replace? Better yet,
convert one
of the pages into a template, regenerate the other pages from
the
template, and have future changes automatically update the
pages. (Of
course you would still have to upload them after changing--if
there are
a *lot* of pages server-side includes would be a better
practice.)

Trouble with selection

Hi,
I'm trying to select an image of a leaf that was scanned into the computer. Right now the image of the leaf is attached to a white rectangle which creates problems when I want to fill the background with a different color.
I've selected the leaf using "color range", but when I go to drag it onto it's own new file, it turns gray. As if the opcaity were turned down. What am I doing wrong? I attached some screen shots below for you to see what I'm refering to.

I would recommend you apply the Selection as a Layer Mask (if the Layer is a Background Layer double-click it to change it to a regular layer) and alt-click the Layer Mask’s icon in the Layers Panel to view the Mask alone.
If the ostensibly selected part is less that pure white apply Image > Edit > Curves or Levels to correct that.
You may also want to take a close look at the fringe pixels and either choke the Layer Mask or, for example, use Refine Edge on the Selection and Decontaminate Colors.
Then convert the Layer to a Smart Object or save it as a psd and Place it as a Smart Object in the other document.

Problems with selecting multiple checkboxes

Hi! I'm very new to Javascript and am trying to navigate my way through adding some to a PDF document.
I have a document with groups of checkboxes, like
Fiber
Total Dietary Fiber
Soluble Dietary Fiber
Insoluble Dietary Fiber
Pectins
So if Fiber is selected, I would like all four options below it to also be automatically selected, and deselected if Fiber is unchecked.

The value of a check box or radio button group is either "Off" (no item selected), or the export or checked value for the specific field. The default value of a button is :Yes".

Question, Trouble with 1st key frame

Let me thank anyone who is nice enough to answer my beginners questions in advance. I made my first very simple flash file yesterday and things went pretty well after I figured out that you had to insert "blank key frames" in the time line until you want something to come on after the beginning of the sequence. I have something that is good enough to go on my web site except for the very beginning of the movie. When my movie recycles everything comes on for 1/12 of a second because every layer has a darkened key frame in position one. From then on it works fine until it recycles again and of course, everything reappears for 1/12 of a second because we are back at the beginning. How do I stop the layers that are programmed to come on later in the movie from flashing on when the 1st frame is passed by on repeats? Something simple I'm sure because I don't see everyone else's movies doing this : < ) Vern

I have my little Flash movie working pretty well and sent it to the forum where it has been posted as a banner ad. The new problem is that it does not send respondents to my web site when they click on the ad. The folks at the forum think I need to embed my web site address somewhere in the Flash file. I looked through the Publish Settings where I thought this would be covered and could not find anything that looks appropriate. Hoping someone can give me a clue : < )

Trouble with Synced Multiple Displays

My two displays are not mirroring, but the toggle between their desktops is synced. If an application is full screen on one monitor, the display shows a black screen on the other. I cannot create a new desktop space on one without a blank one showing up on the other. How do I revert the display settings back to independently moving?

I figured it out!
The check box is in System Preferences - Mission Control.
"Displays have separate Spaces" must be checked for desktops to toggle independently.
