Try to understand the bequeath process

Hi,
I want to understand the bequeath process. As I know, you don't have to use listener to connect the database if you log on the server. You can use the bequeath protocol, right?
In my rac environment, I have got the following situation.
1, ps -ef | grep oracle
oracle 5695 1 0 12:55 ? 00:00:00 oraclegrieth1 (DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))
oracle 5804 1 0 12:55 ? 00:00:00 oraclegrieth1 (DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))
oracle 5956 1 0 12:55 ? 00:00:00 oraclegrieth1 (DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))
2, echo $ORACLE_HOME
[oracle@css-rac1 ~]$ echo $ORACLE_SID
GRIETH1
3, lsnrctl status
Service "griethXDB.css-net" has 2 instance(s).
Instance "grieth1", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
Instance "grieth2", status READY, has 1 handler(s) for this service...
4, sqlplus /nolog
SQL> conn sys as sysdba
Enter password:
Connected to an idle instance.
SQL>
5, sqlplus /nolog
SQL> conn sys@grieth1 as sysdba
Enter password:
Connected.
SQL>
Why can I without using @grieth1 not to connect the database?

The SID is case sensitive in Unix.
Your SID appears to be grieth1 as opposed to GRIETH1.
Please try using grieth1 for your SID.

  • Updated My ipod touch 4th gen to IOS 6.1. Now everytime I try to finish the update process I get a message " Apple ID couldn't be created because of a server error"

Now everytime I try to finish the update process I get a message " Apple ID couldn't be created because of a server error. I already have an apple ID I am just trying to finish the update so I can use my ipod touch and can not figure out why I keep getting held back at this message

So I found out with alittle research that instead of entering all that info on my ipod, security questions, birthday, ect that it was much easier to just go to http://appleid.apple.com and place all that info there and save it than try the process on my ipod and it finished the update.

  • Understanding the login process

My question is concerning 9ias V2 and portal repository 9.0.2.6
I noticed that when a user tries to login to the portal for the first time, if credentials are correctly entered , the user is added to the authenticated_users group.
Which admin user adds the first time user to authenticated users group ,
    is it portal30? portal30_sso?
And how is the the access to this admin user granted in OID?
    Any pointers will be appreciated.

    Anupam,
This is probably the best answer i have received in this forum. If this forum had a rating for answers, you get a 5 out of 5 for this answer or maybe a 10 out of 5 :).
Just for the record and for future reference to some poor user who is stuck with the same problem as i was.....
    i noticed that
if the application entity does not have access to modify the authenticated_users group we got this error
Error: Unexpected error encountered in wwsec_app_priv.process_signon (User-Defined Exception) (WWC-41417)
An Exception was raised when accessing the oracle Internet Directory: 50: Insufficient access Details
    Error:Operation: dbms_ldap.modify_s
    Entry DN:
    Cn=AUTHENTICATED_USERS,cn=portal30.dpor.dill.latticesemi.com,cn=groups,dc=latticesemi,dc=com
    Changes
    Uniquemember: Add: cn=portal30_admin,cn=users,dc=latticesemi,dc=com. (WWC-41743)
if any of you are wondering why i ended up with this situation..we just ran upgrade scripts to upgrade our repository from 30985 to 9026. And right after the upgrade when we try to login , we got the above message.
If i add the newly created (during the upgrade process) application entity to OracleDASEditGroup, the above error goes away. OracleDASEditGroup has the privilege to edit any group, although it needs access to authenticated_users just to login

  • Unpredictable WSUS update behavior or I just don't understand the WSUS process.

Last month I had started a thread about random WSUS clients failing to download updates and generating 403 errors. I am seeing the same behavior this month with a new wrinkle.
The machines that generate the 403 errors 1). do not have any connectivity or permissions issues preventing them from accessing the WSUS server, 2). the failed machines appear to be random and 3). the failed machines are usually less than 15 in number out
of 400+ identically configured and connected machines receiving updates. This month when the first batch of servers where scheduled to start downloading the approved updates all but 9 successfully download, rebooted and restarted completing the update
process. The remaining 9 (a different 9 from the previous set) failed to download every update again with phantom 403 errors.
That was last week. This week I opened my WSUS server console only to see the machines that were previously updated and removed from the "failed or needed" list reappear
in that list. Apparently the WSUS server has spontaneously decided that several past updates from 2012 to present are needed by these machines and as these updates were previously approved years ago the client machines have started downloading these updates
and in some cases rebooting. This is particularly distressing as a). these are production machines that have a set reboot schedule and per the GPO should not reboot off schedule, b). The WSUS synch is only performed one time a month to prevent
multiple update processing and reboot cycles and c). The spontaneous updating has created even more failed machines. Some machines are failing updates that were reporting as installed last week. Due to the erratic behavior and the apparent age of some of the
updates I performed a WSUS reset by stopping the update service, deleting the old update folders from the WSUS server update directory, restarting the service and issuing a
WSUSUtil.exe RESET to re-download the required updates from Microsoft. The WSUS server is a VMWare hosted VM with sufficient HD space and memory available.
I have a total of about 2500 machines that receive updates from this server at different scheduled times during the month. It is not always possible to accommodate this type
of erratic behavior and stay on schedule. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have not been able to find any sub-status codes for the 403 errors. IIS logs only list 200 and 206 codes, no errors any any IIS logs and full logging was enabled at IIS setup. Clients only list the following:

  • Trying to understand the Release Process with Milestones

    Here's my goal:
I want to control the release of a project so that only certain WBSs can accumulate costs once certain milestones are reached. I want to block people from confirming activities out of order.
I created a project with the following activities:
Kick Off (milestone) -> Design -> Approve (stop milestone)
The design activity is where we will plan work and charge time.
I released the Kick Off activity only, leaving the Design & Approve activities in the CRTD status
It has it's own WBS, so my project looks like this:
    Project (top WBS) PREL
    Kick Off activity REL
    Design WBS CRTDDesign Activity CRTD
    Approve activity CRTD
When I final confirm the Kick Off activity with CN25, the system reports an error:
"CN699 One or more than one activity was not released. See log"
The Kick Off activity gets status "FKTF - Error when processing function". There is no way I can find to view a log to see what happened. After googling around it seems like the release failed because my Design WBS is not released, however releasing this WBS also releases the Design Activity!
    Questions:
What am I missing? How is this milestone release function meant to be used?
If I cannot automatically release an activity in a WBS that is not released, how do you release the WBS only? Why can I release an activity manually in project builder (giving the WBS PREL) , but not automatically with a milestone?
Where is the log mentioned in the CN699 error?
How do you un-release something? In case it was released by mistake, I want to unrelease it so no charges are made.

    Hi,
WBS 'Release' status can control whether you can confirm activity assigned to it. If you release WBS , all assigned activity ( Please make sure you are using Activty assigned network PS02 & you have mentioned WBS element in the network activity details. Do not maintain WBS in network header) will be released automatically.
Anyway you have released kickoff activity, just make sure assinged WBS is also released. You may need to create one more WBS ( kick off WBS) just like design WBS at same level.
    A
1: There is no such thing as 'Stop Milestone'( Or Start Milestone). Milestones are assigned to last activity you want to monitor for completion meaning when network activity in fully Confirmed(CNF) & there is milestone assigned to it, Milestone is considered release. You can have many functions with Milestone reaching released status( trigger billing unblock, MilestoneTrend analaysis)
2: You can manually release activity in WBS . Releasing WBS will release activity automatically so you cannot prevent activity release , if you decide to release WBS. WBS is parent object & releasing it will release all child object.
Milestone release will not release activity, it is otherway around. Reaching CNF status on last activity will release milestone.
3: Go to network display , there must be log , if activity status shows it.
4: There is no undo functions for 'Release' (Like Cancel TECO) of project/WBS/Activity. Since you can start posting cost after relese , it will violate integrity , if such function is provided. There could be BAPI available to unrelease .
    Hope this helps,
    Jatin

  • Understanding the Synch Process from Laptop to iPad?

I have a list of 83 songs which I have synched to my wife's iPad from my laptop using iTunes. I wish to change the titles of  two songs in the iTunes file folder that I used to synch the 83 songs to the iPad. Once I have changed these songs and perform the synch again will I damage the 83 songs already on the iPad? I'm not sure how this synch function works, can anyone help me? Thank you!

Thank you for your prompt reply! Will the synch add another set of 83 songs or just keep the same set and change the two songs?

  • How to learn the Business Process and how it is related to BI?

    Dear Experts,
How to learn the Business Process? for example the business process from finance to sales. As I am more involved in technical development of BI; I dont know or having very hard time to understand what the business process. And how the Business Process is related to BI?
I think if I don't understand the business process than it is very hard to satisfy the User requirements. If you have any documentation please feel free to forward it to [email protected]
I wish you happy new year. Thank you in advance.
    Aslam.

If only plan data entered, try to delete the planning data before delete the object and then re-create it again. Otherwise you may have to leave it as is and change the description for the usage by the different company code.

Thank you Nith and Jasmin for your responses.
Restarted the application server and it did not work.
I recreated the workspace end point and still it is not working. I tried to
create new workspace process and configured for the workspace to see if it
    works, but the same error.
There were 2 previously initiated tasks(before this exception, these were
initiated) in my ToDo list in workspace. When I click on this, the form is
opened without error, but when I click on the submit(complete button), its
    throwing the below exception:
    Error 500: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
    com.adobe.idp.scheduler.SchedulerException
I have attached log and screenshot. Please let me know if I can resolve this
    without redeploying the livecycle components.
    Thanks,
    Prasad

  • Problem with the standard process HR_PD_MOVE_POSITION

    Hello.
I try to use the standard process HR_PD_MOVE_POSITION to change an assignment of position. I started the process via the link Start Organizational Process after that filled an Adobe-form. Later a WF 04000035 which links with the process, started. But the first step of WF ended with the status ERROR.
In the Step History tab (transaction SWI1) I see the next errors:
Executing flow work item - Transaction brackets of the workflow has been damaged
Exception occurred - Error when starting work item 000000007031
PROCESS_NODE - Error when processing node '0000000014' (ParForEach index 000000)
CREATE - Error when creating a component of type 'Step'
CREATE_WIM_HANDLE - Error when creating a work item
CREATE_VIA_WFM - Exit CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT triggered exeception for event CREATED and (target) status
EVENT_RAISED - Error updating the process object
Executing flow work item - Exit CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT triggered exeception for event STATE_CHG and (target) status READY->ERROR
EVENT_RAISED - Error updating the process object
Executing flow work item - Transaction brackets of the workflow has been damaged

Could you tell me where a mistake can be?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Could you please share if this error is resolved & how?
    Thanks,

  • Understand the bandwidth usage on production.

Hi all, i try to understand the bandwidth usage on production time on the network. I took one C3560G with all device are conected to 1000Mb/s.
    I make: show int gi0/1
      5 minute input rate 320000 bits/sec, 555 packets/sec
      5 minute output rate 9787000 bits/sec, 821 packets/sec
The total is: 10.1 Mb/sec (on this port)
In all active port the summary is: 47 Mb/s (input rate+output rate in all ports)
So, i used 4,7% of the total of the bandwidth. And in cacti (by snmp) software i see one device transfer data with a maximun of 24Mb/s. Why don't use more bandwidth if is available?
Some can give me a hand to understand this?
    Thanks!

So, the bandwidth is limited for the windows size. How i manualy set the RWIN? in a LAN is posible?
Yes, it's often possible.  How depends on the host.  Search the Internet for BDP and your host IOS, and you'll likely find how to adjust.
    PS:
BTW, too large a RWIN can cause a sender to send too many packets at one time which can result in drops.  Have you checked your transit interfaces for drops?
Ideally, RWIN should be sized for BDP; not smaller and not larger.

    Hi MAX22,
Even though it's your computer but your user account might not have sufficient privileges to install the software.
    Please try the following :
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

Every time I install iTunes 12 I get this message when I try to open it:"This copy of iTunes is damaged and it has not been correctly installed. Please, install iTunes again.(-42404)".
The instalation process runs smoothly without any error message and iTunes has been installed in my computer before. The problem started with the update no. 12. Any idea what's going on? Thank you

  • Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try agai

I have just had a Windows XP failure and took the opportunity to replace with Windows 7.  After I reinstalled PhotoShop CS(1) the message "Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try again"  is shown and forces PhotoShop to close.  I have 4Gb of Ram installed and a total of about 10Gb of Page File space on three partitions of a 500Gb HDD.  The system is not heavily loaded!  However, I cannot access Photoshop to check scratch disk allocation.  How to fix???
