Trying to combine multiple PDF into one file

I have several of my daughters online assignments that I scanned in then converted to a PDF. But, now I need to make them into one document but cant find how to do that.  I am using Adobe Reader X.

The PDF Pack online service can also combine PDF files.

    Are these files fillable forms?
Could you need to combine more than 100 MB of files?

  • How do I turn off automatic bookmark creation when combining multiple PDFs into one?

When I combine multiple PDFs into one, I need Adobe to use the CUSTOM bookmarks I created in the original PDFs. I do NOT want the additional PDF name as a bookmark in this instance. Is there a way to turn this option OFF in Acrobat Professional? I have version 9.

You can not automatically turn off this action nor can you remove the 'file_name.pdf' heading, but you could add a button or menuitem to remove the 'file_name.pdf' from the bookamarks. Yes, it is one more step to perform when combining PDFs, but is you want until you have all of the PDFs combined you only need do it once.
Removing filename bookmarks created by Acrobat by Sean Stewart
    From the above article:
"With the release of Acrobat 6 came the ability to create a composite (binder) document from multiple files, (i.e. File > Create PDF > From Multiple Files.) When this is done, Acrobat automatically inserts a new top level bookmark at the start of each new file. The bookmark title will correspond to the source filename of the source file. While this level of separation can be helpful, it is counterproductive when the user wants the bookmark tree in the merged document to be continuous.
"Here's a sample JavaScript to remove the top level bookmarks from the bookmark tree. This script will look for a ".pdf" extension to decide whether to remove the bookmark."
With some additional coding you can add menu item or toolbar button.

  • When combine multiple PDFs into one, some letters are missing and display wrong letter

Hi all. I get a problem with combine multiple PDFs into a single PDF document. There are some PDF documents and they are working fine to open each document separately. But after I use Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard to combine them into one, some letters are missing and some display wrong letter (e.g. "forums" display "fo ums"). Our company has Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard, Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional and Standard. But all of them have some problem. Does anyone have idea for that? Please help me! Thanks very much!

I have a similar situation, but my PDFs look fine in Acrobat Pro 8,Acrobat Reader 8, and Apple preview, but are missing letters in Acrobat Pro 7. I think it stems from the files being combined all having the same font, but each having a unique subset stored in the respective files, but with the same name (and ID?), and when they are combined, the character sets are getting hosed somehow.

  • Combine OCR pdfs into one file and keep OCR text

I posted a few weeks ago, but found out today that I misunderstood the problem. We got back our files from the vendor digitized as individual pdfs that have already been OCRed. When we try to combine the individual pages into issues (these are newspapers), the OCR text is lost. We're using Acrobat 8 and 9 Professional.
    Thanks!

    Hi
I tried this with A8 and A9 but could not replicate the issue as mentioned by you. Here is what I did:
         1. OCR two single page scanned PDFs.
         2. Combine the two single page OCRed PDFs into one PDF.
         3. Check if the text is still there.
and I found that the text was retained.
How were the PDFs OCRed in your case? Were these PDFs OCRed using Acrobat or some other tool?

  • How can I combine multiple pdfs into one document?

I need to consolidate multiple docs into one.  How do I do that?

It's pretty easy. Open multiple PDF documents in Apple Preview that came with your Mac. Choose View/Thumbnails so you can see the page thumbnail icons. Select any number (or all) of the page thumbnail icons of one document and drag them to any point in the thumbnails of another document.
For example you can drag page 6 of one PDF between pages 40 and 41 of another PDF doc. But it sounds like you want to select all pages of one PDF and drag them to the end of another PDF doc.
If you need more powerful document combining you can use PDFpen or Adobe Acrobat Professional, but they cost money.

  • Combine multiple pdfs into one form

I have several multi-page pdfs that I would like to combine into one dynamic form. I can import one at a time separately, then paste in each page, one at a time, but that's very time consuming. How can I take each imported file and add it, as a whole, to the master form?

Then you can do it using a Server product called LiveCycle Assembler. The form will have to be 1st, then you can add as many PDFs as you want.

  • Trying to combine multiple reports into one

We have several reports that are targeted to a certain group, for example, one version for the employee to pull their own sales info, one version for supervisors to pull their information for all subordinates, and one version for management and accounting
to pull information for all employees.  I have a solution to combine the employee and supervisor reports by using the login ID of the user and showing them "my" and "my subordinates" information.  But, I can't figure out a way
to combine the management "all" option.  When an employee logs in, they will have a drop down to choose themself and one or more subordinates (if applicable).  But they will only see the employee names that are under them.  My CFO
needs a report to show all employees but he is not the supervisor.  When he logs in, he needs to see a drop down with all employee names.
Does anyone have any ideas for combining all of these options into one report?
    Milissa Hartwell

    Hi Milissa,
Based on your description, you have three report: employee, supervisors, management and accounting. When an employee use their Login ID login the report, they will have permission to access their own information and their supervisors’ information. You have
meet issue how to configure CFO access permission.
In your case, we can use subreport to work around the issue. We can use three subreport to contain these three report. Then, pass the Login ID to filter these data in corresponding report. According to your description, you have a report which is contains
full information for all employees. Then, we can use Visibilities property to control this subreport’s visibility.  For example: =IIF(Fields!LoginID.Value=”CFO”, False, True)
Alternatively, we can use drillthrough to open the corresponding report. The Following document is for your references.

If you want to achieve the same effect use SQL query, I recommend you post a thread in the
Transact-SQL forum. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.

  • Hello Apple community... I am trying to combine multiple pdf's into one, using preview, but when I drag the additional pages they show up as separate documents.

I am trying to combine multiple pdf's into one, using preview, but when I drag the additional pages they show up as separate documents.  When I drag the doc in a line would show up in the past, and if I went above th eline all was good.  It doesn't have a line, and no matter what I try I am having no success.
    Please help!

According to an Apple Support article, unless there are unforeseen issues
in file ownership or permissions, the combining of .PDFs should be simple.

  • Text issues merging multiple pdfs into one pdf

Hello, when I merge multiple pdfs into one pdf document my text is missing or garbled.  I spent hours yesterday trying to figure this out, from insuring the text was embedded and print setting were correct.  Please help!!
    Using Adobe Pro 9.0
    Thanks,
    Faith

Acrobat Pro is the application you use for working with PDFs, making minor edits, combining multiple PDFs into a single file, extracting or replacing pages, doing fancier form work than ID has the ability to produce, and even creating PDF from a number of other file formats. I'm not sure your question about maintaining the quality of your photos is really applicable -- it would depend on how youare getting from the photo to PDF to begin with. The use of Acrobat in and of itself won't be the determiner.
That said, I couldn't live without Acrobat Pro in my workflow. Since you are on CS5.5 you have a couple of options. You could purchase a subscription to Creative Cloud (at a discount for the first year), which would give you access not only to Acrobat, but all of the other programs and tools included in the suite, but you pay a monthly or yearly fee, or you can buy a standalone perpetual license to either Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard (I didn't realize Standard was still an option, and you might not need all the features of Pro -- you can compare at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/buying-guide.html).

  • Combine multiple drawings into ONE SHEET

Hello, this is a question on Acrobat Pro, ver 8, using Windows XP. I guess I understand how to combine multiple files into a single PDF-file. However, this morning I happened to see the option mentioned in the subject line. When you go to "Combine files" > "Getting started with combined files" and select "CAD drawings" the description reads: "Combine multiple drawings into one sheet that's easy to navigate and print". How can this be done? I need to combine 8 ea CAD drawings (already converted to PDF) into ONE SHEET for printing without having the need taping 8 pieces of paper together. Arranging the drawing within the CAD application is not an option because the files were delivered by a 3rd party company and they only deliver PDFs

    Hi Priya,
You can do this by merging the requets.
       1. goto Se10 and right click on the request and seelct merge requests.
       2. It will ask you from request and to request. Give the request names.
       3. After merging first request contents will be added to second request and
           first request will be deleted.
Like that you can merge 3 requests to one request.
Let me know if you want more info.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Siri.

How do I scan a document with multiple pages into one file?  My old printer (psc 2110) asked after each scan if I wanted to scan another page.  At the end I had one pdf file with multiple pages.

    Hi mpw101,
If you load the papers into the ADF - Automatic Document Feeder, and then select Document to PDF then they will all be scanning into one file. Let me know if this works for you?

Per user manual, I work from the computer not the printer.
When first page is scanned am asked if I want to save, I click yes and name file.
