Trying to download Lion, it says it needs 2GB free space, I have 26 GB free space.  Now what?

I have been trying to download Lion from the App Store on my 17 inch iMac.  While my system says I have 26.36 GB available, a messages says"We could not complete your purchase  Mac OS x 10.7 requires at least 2 GB of memory.
Any ideas?  They're not talking RAM are they?  As I have only 1GB on this one.
