Trying to emulate a fill in actionscript 3

What I'm trying to do is, I load thumbnail pictures into a
scrollbar, via XML,when a user selects the thumbnail, what I want
it to do is:
Take the thumbnail bitmapData (66x66) , copy it into an
empty movieclip that can be used with multiple instances (there
will be 50-100 instances)
Is this possible?

You mean like using the Graphics.beginBitmapFill() method? I
haven't used it, but check out the help files.

Trying to emulate this shape

Hi I am trying to emulate this shape.
I have tried drawing it in using the pen tool but as you can see it didnt turn out so good.
I then tried drawing 2 ellipses with the Ellipse Tool and sent the smaller ellipse to the back and then with both selected tried minus back which got me the following message "The filter produced no results. Please select one or more filled paths."
Even if I did get this part to work, I had little to no idea how I was going to break the bottom part of the ellipse up to be like the above image. I was thinking of using the path eraser tool and then the pen tool.
I would really appreciate some advice from all you illustrator geniuses

Thanks Jacob for your help. Actually on further playing what I found was that I had created the 2 ellipses on different layers, so that I could turn off the big one and then draw the smaller on top and this is why it wasn't working.
When I created the 2 ellipses on the same layer and did the send to back and minus back it worked but from there it got ugly .. use of the path eraser has got me in a mess.
Here is where I am up to using your method which worked like a charm. I have added opacity to the object to see the original underneath but not really sure where to go from here. I made the new object transparent 50%.
I tried putting a rectangle on the left and a ellipse of the right and got this far but I dont know how to deal with the corners.

Problem with Photoshop Elements 11 - I am trying to create a fill layer

I am trying to create a fill layer. I am really missing something but I don't know what it is. I bring up a photo, go into Expert. i click layer at the top then click new fill layer and solid colour. It all works but then that is all that I can see and I cannot make it a background and put the picture in it.

Elements has its own forum Photoshop Elements
Element most likely has more the one way to do that. Photoshop does. In Elements advance mode in the layer palette the is an Icon the can be use to add different types of layers and the layer menu also has items to add different type of layers.

I am trying to save a filled-out form as a word doc,

I am trying to save a filled-out acrobat 10.0 form as an Office 2010 word doc, but the data in the form is lost when the word document is opened, I only get the labels for the fields. I was able to do this previously but not any more.
Is there some button I need to push or steps I'm missing?

You probably need to flatten the document first so the fields become part of the document. When you look at a form, fields are markup, not part of the actual document.

Trying to simulate button click via ActionScript

Hello,
I've got code written to tell if a user is hitting his/her
left or right arrow keys. I currently have a "next" button named
realNext, and a "back" button named realBack. Both buttons have
lots of code written in their on(release) functions. How can I
utilize ActionScript to simulate a button click?
Here's my code thus far:

I have never had success **** this by calling the onRelease
or onPress event functions. So to get around this I define other
functions that do all of the work and then just use the onRelease
and onPress event functions as callers.
For example.
button1.onRelease = myFunction;
function myfunction():Void {
// code goes here
Now with this I can either press the button to ge thte code
executed or I can "simulate" the button being pushed by just
calling myFunction().

Hey everyone.
I wanted to imitate this websites image gallery using
DreamWeaver, and I wanted to know what would be the basic steps to
break it down. Here is the site:

I wanted to be able to replicate this for my own site, but
also wanted to see if anyone here could help me break it down..What
exactly is going on here? Do I need layers? Do I need tables?
Speaking of tables, how did the designer get the captions to
go directly underneath the image? That's pretty much all I want.
The reason being is that I also need to teach this to someone else,
and they need to know how to upload and maintain their site
themselves. Can anyone help me out? I would really appreciate it:)

if you zoom the map more than x2, direct it to the corners
and then zoom out once you will see that it leaves blank space on

You can go the 'Documents' list from Adobe Reader and then swipe horizontally to see the red 'Delete' button.

Trying to fill setup table for 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL

I am trying to delete and fill setup tables for 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL. I go to SBIW, delete setup tables for application component 04 and then go back to fill setup tables. But I get the message "DataSource 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL contains data still to be transferred".
Am I missing a step?

I went to transaction SBIW ->Settings for Application specific datasources ->Logistics->Initialization->Delete contents of setup tables-> Application 04
Then under Initialization I went to Filling in the Setup table->Application specific setup of statistical table ->Production.
I entered the date & time (and entered my own Run name. Should I say new run or rerun or give my own Run name?) and executed the transaction.
Then I got the message - datasource still contains data to be transferred.

Very simple question-how to fill a shape I draw with color

hi. I am new to photoshop and having a lot of trouble selecting any shape that I draw. I am trying to do a tutorial that involves filling a canvas with gray, then drawing a smaller white rectangle inside of the larger gray canvas/rectangle. (I did not forget to unlock the background).
My question: how do i select and fill (with white) the second rectangle I draw on top of the larger gray rectangle???
In general, I cannot figure out how to select and/or fill any shape I draw using the rectangle tool. Likewise, the marque shape tools are no help as I cannot seem to draw a marque on my gray rectangle in order to select it and fill it with a white fill. I have also tried to use a "fill layer."
I am almost certain that something is wrong with my computer(I reset the settings), but then again I have not used photoshop in over a year. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Rectangle Tool sgould create a Work Path, Shape Layer or Fill Pixels according to the Settings in the Options Bar.
The Rectangular Marquee Tool should create a Selection, which you could Edit > Fill or use as a Layer Mask for a Solid Color Layer.
Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels visible?

I tried to update my iPAD & I just keep getting an error message

I connected my iPAD to my laptop to back up as i hadn't done it for about 3 weeks. I connected to iTunes & began to sync the iPAD then the iPAD screen went blank.
When I try & turn the iPAD on it just comes up with the cable sumbole & a message 'connect to iTunes.
When I connect to iTunes it tries to do a recovery/restore it tries & the timer bar fills up, then I get an error message 3014, unable to restore your iPAD.
It was working fine up until I tried to sync it :-(
I have tried;
turning off & on using the home button & power button reset
amending my security on the PC
Updating iTunes
all to no avail. I went into the iSolutions shop today who were less than helpful!
Is my iPAD completely dead or can it be salvaged??? My iPAD is 4 days over 2 years old

Using acrobat 9 pro to create a fill in form

I am really new to acrobat 9 and need help. I am trying to create a fill in form from a word doc converted to pdf. When I convert to pdf I lose control of my access to change tables that were created in word and also not all fields are recognized so I end up adding in fields. No big deal except down the road if I need to make any changes I have to go back to the word doc make changes, reconvert to pdf and individually tweek each field. There has got to be an easier way create a fill in form. Any suggestions?

No magic here, but keep in mind that you can replace a page of a pdf (Document > Replace Pages) and have the form fields remain. Think of the fields as on a layer above the page. When you replace a page in this way, you at least will not have to recreate the fields you added. You will still be able to move fields around and add or delete fields as necessary to match your new layout.
If your form changes significantly and frequently, you may want to consider using Adobe Live Cycle Designer. I believe it is installed automatically with Acrobat Pro. Much steeper learning curve, though.

IDOC Scenario: Filling ED40 in XI to SAP automatically or not

I was trying to let XI fill the ED40 data of my IDOC and set the flag in
receiver channel, that he should not take these information from payload.
It seems he took wrong data. So from where he take these information?
I disabled the ED40 segment in mapping. So in sxmb_moni I couldn't see
the information he put into the fields. If I don't disable them, he says that
required fields are not mapped.

Hi,
if you look into ED40 segment you will see there are some fields with occurrence 1:1, and that means you have to have some values in those fields (if not disabled this segment). Either you map the hard coded the vaules using constant function or map with some other source fields to these mandatory fields. But make sure there shuld be some data in case if you map with source fields.
So this is the reason you are getting a message "required fields are not mapped".
IF you are using EDIDC40 then you have to tick the check box take the values from payload, otherwise If you disable EDIDC40 then the values will be automaticall taken care by XI.
