Trying to fill in fields programatically

I do not have Acrobat or related software. I get finished pdf's from another person in the company, who is now on vacation. What I'm wanting to know is when one creates a pdf with form fields in it, does the pdf have to be created so that inputted information can be save with the pdf? When I pull up the pdf by itself, there is a purple bar that says that I cannot save data typed into the fields. I'm trying to write code that will take input from and web page and merge the info into the fields of the pdf. I'm not having any success with this, and I'm assuming that it is because the pdf itself was not created in such a way to allow it to be saved with inputted data. Am I correct?
Is there a way I can upload this pdf to Acrobat.com and change this, or will my Acrobat person need to do this?

There are two options for enabling users to fill and save interactive PDF forms on their desktop:
1) Put Acrobat on each users machine. The common interactive form features provided by Acrobat include local save, data import/export, connectivity to Web Services, and digital signatures.
2) Add rights to the PDF for Reader clients. A rights-enabled PDF will enable Reader to act like Acrobat and support the interactive form features listed above.
There are two ways of rights-enabling a PDF:
1) Use the server product Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES to add the rights to the PDF (through a simple, Web-based UI or pogrammatically through the Java API, Web Services, or the Flex API)
2) Using Acrobat Pro Extended. Acrobat Pro Extended has a feature to right-enables a fixed number of PDF forms.

Iu2019m trying to fill that field in the get_ordered_prod method with the code below:

how you decided on this user exit? this is being called AFTER order save, so you can do wjhatever you want, it is not going to save that to VBAP
what you need to use is either userexit_move_field_to_VBAP or userexit_save_document_prepare.
in move to VBAP user exit you dont need to move the values to XVBAP, just move to VBAP, and SAP will tkae care of the rest
for prepare user exit use the same code you have, but do modify xvbap before endloop.

How to fill a field in a page attribute structure

We're trying to build a BSP Application (Pages with flow logic). One of the BSP Pages is a search for customer data, with search fields displayed dynamically.
Now Im trying to fill the fields of structure "ls_partner", which is defined as a page attribute. However, it always is initial at onInputProcessing. It works well for normal page attributes (like strings etc.), but not with fields of a structure.
I found the following on sdn:
If firstname is a field in a structure called myaddress of the type address, you can access firstname in the layout as follows:
<input type=text name="myaddress.firstname">
This doesn't seem to work though. Any suggestions?

Hi Phil,
I assume by "fill the fields of a structure" you mean by passing the parameters as form field or HTTP header parameters.
I don't believe you can do this. You can only pass parameters that map to a page attribute that is a data element like STRING, INT4, MATNR, etc.
If you need to pass an entire structure you probabaly need to pass each individual element as a separate paramater, or else pack the structure into a string field and then parse it to extract the individual elements at runtime.

Can you provide a little more detail, maybe a screenshot? ExportPDF only converts PDFs to other file types, what exactly are you using to try to fill out the form? The two Adobe form filling tools I would recommend would be:
1) Adobe Reader - a free download you can install on your computer and can be used to fill out most any form. For numbers, symbols etc it can depend on the field you are entering data into, some fields have restrictions, but you would use those keys on your keyboard, if nothing is entered then that field probably has restrictions.
2) Adobe Fill & Sign: https://cloud.acrobat.com/fillsign - using the Fill & Sign tab on the acrobat.com website you can fill out most PDFs. To enter numbers, symbols, etc you would simply add them using your keyboard.

If there are Acrobat PDF form fields, not jus a space for a form field, then you will have to add them. It would be better to ask the provider of the form to add the fields. If you cannot add the fields, then you can use the add text feature.
Have you looked in the "Tools" panel for the "Forms" category?

Acrobat 6 filled form fields show up empty in Acrobat X

I've been using Acrobat 6 to create fillable forms some time back and now I'm having some issues trying to correct some fields they are showing up empty in Acrobat X. Is there a way to still view or edit my saved Acrobat 6 filled forms in Acrobat X?

How to fill a field with after changing another field in a multi form?

I have multi occurence form in which multiple record are showeds and/or added.
One field is a dropdown field, after filling this field (selecting a value in the dropdown), another field needs to filled with the selected value.
My problem is that only the first occurence is filled with the value of the selected dropdown, even when filling the dropdown field in one of the other occurences.
I tried point to the other occurences but this was not succesfull

So when a sparepart is selected from the dropdown sparepart, the field defectpart must be filled the selected sparepart, when I have multi forms (occurences) only the first occurence defect part gets filled with the selected parts, even when a sparepart from another occurence is selected.

Change font size of fill in fields

I'm trying to figure out how to change the font size of the fill in fields for a form I scanned in and have been using for quite sometime. The current font size is a bit small and I'm wondering if there is a setting where I can change the font size. In researching I keep coming across talk of an appearance tab. I cannot seem to find it. Any help is very much appreciated.

Generally it is something you do as you create the form. If the form was created in Designer, you need to ask there. As far as I know, you may be able to select all of the text fields and change them all at the same time, but I have not tried it lately.

EBS - fill assignment field with bank reference

Hi,
We are trying to fill the bank reference for incoming payments in the assignment field for the GL postings. For the 2 banks it is working fine, since they send it in 88 record and we have defined search string to fill in assignment field. We use BAI2 format
But for 1 bank, the bank reference is sent in 16 record, and search string does not work for 16 record. But i do see the bank reference filled in FEBEP-VGREF.
With userexit i can probably populate this in the assignment field but is it possible using standard algorithm?

Unfortunately Algorithm 015 is limited to a 13 character reference.

There are dependencies (if you
use algorithm 015) between the fields FEBEP-/(BSEG-)ZUONR, FEBEP-CHECT
and FEBEP-/(BSEG-)SGTXT.
The behavior should be as follows:
If you enter only a check number the result will be stored in
FEBEP-CHECT. The algorithm 015 will move this content also to
FEBEP-ZUONR and creates a record in table FEBCL with this value.
Later in the program flow the report RFEBBU00 fills SGTXT with
this value.
Since FEBEP-CHECT has only 13 charactes, ZUONR is truncated.
The search string works if you need to remove undesired characters
from FEBEP-CHECT, but the lenght will always be 13.
The Note 1409628 doesn't enchange the field, but instead it uses ZUONR
for the search.
So in your case I suggest you to use exit 1 FEB00001 as per note 494777.
Then you can move all 16 characters which are available in FEBRE to
field FEBCL-SELVON
You need to program the exit with a LOOP in FEBRE, then move the
content to FEBCL.

To right justify data in a character-type field:
In the Post to Output File block, place the following filter(s) to achieve your desired result:
To prepad with leading "spaces" for a total length of 10:
right(" "+alltrim(AP.Field_name), 10)
To prepad with leading "zeros" for a total length of 10:
right("0000000000"+alltrim(AP.Field_name), 10)

You and your partner might have different browsers, different versions of the same browser, or most likely a fervent version of the PDF plug-in.
See if just clicking on the Enter key sends the form in.

Muse, pixelated image after trying to fill a box

Ok so I am trying to fill a box of 1003 px x 577 px with an jpg of 1100px by 4000px. I am trying to make a scroll image in a box with motion. I am having the problem that for it to show the image in good quality it has to be in "original" or "tile". In both cases it's not filling the box that I created with the same width of the jpg. I am having always the same problem. The only way I always fix this is making the image tremendously small in height. This should not be happening. The only way I can get it to be the width that I am creating the box and jpg image is to Fill-"scale to fit"... and it's pixelated.
Could someone help me with this unbearable problem please. I will really appreciate the gesture.

Call transaction skip first screen and fill a field

Hi,
I have got a requirement where need to call transaction VA01 by filling the fields on the first screen like order type, sales area using set parameter IDs and need to skip first screen. There is additional requirement apart from this where I need to fill the field 'Proforma' with some value 'X' in the header 'Additional data A' while calling transaction VA01.
Is there any shortway to do this without using BDCdata?

Hi,
I had this kind of requirement earlier. But in my case I need to pre populate several values and then show the screen for user input. Here is my suggestion for you. Follow below code for filling BDC DATA internal table and call transaction in "E" error mode. This should show the screen finally for user input. In this code find for "?" and replace it with your field name and field value. Remember to check validity of screen # and names with you system.

Pop up Window before saving remembering the need (forcing) to fill required fields in a form

I searched the "old" forum and have very good help from UVSAR but unfortunately I'm not able to access my message sent to that forum anymore.
[I could never thank all the people who answered because I keep receiving "Your submission has triggered the spam filter and will not be accepted.""]
I've have never use Java scripts in my life: I started about three days ago.
1) I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro X (Windows 7)
2) I've created a form using Microsoft Word and save it as a pdf file.
3) After I created a form using Acrobat Pro X;
3.1.) This form it's not going to be submitted over Internet. It will be send by e-mail to some persons. They will receive it, fill in the form and send it back to me via e-mail. Note: I will save it with extended rights in order to allow to be read with acrobat reader (I'm the only one of the group having Professional edition).
4) In that form I've created some text fields (for now it's just what I need - no radio buttons, dropdown
menus, and so...)
5) Choosed Properties and marked 7 fields as "required";
6) Used a script I found in here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/784322 (thank you for the authors of the thread)

7) This script allows me to remember people to fill that 7 specific fields (when using mouse or tab).
8) So... What I really need? Here are the reasons for my request for help:
8.1.) When people use the Acrobat Reader Save button (not a button I created inside the form) it will pop up an alert message. Users will receive a pop up window telling them they need to fill those fields before saving the form and send it back to me. Can someone share a script, please? Thanks in advance.
8.2.) Is there a way to colorize the fileds that need to be filled? Again I only learned where to insert a java script yestaerday sou I'm not able to write one. I'm sorry for my newbie questions.
8.3.) Last question: In one of the fields there will be an e-mail address. On the end of the form I want to create a button like "Send by e-mail" and When someone press that button the e-mail will be sent to the address that was written in the earlier specific field. How can I do this (link a button to an e-mail address in a specific field)? Can someone help me with a script or ideas? Hope I was clear.
8.1.) UVSAR sent me the following code that works fine untill I save the document for the first time. Affter that he never shows me pop up window again.
