Trying to setup 1131 in autonomous mode with multiple ssids and vlans

hi there,
I'm trying to setup an aironet 1131 in autonomous mode with a WLAN for each VLAN.
I can connect to the SSID "BLUGstaff" but I don't pick up a DHCP address and when I set a static IP I can't anything on the vlan so I can only assume I have made an error.
I have attached the config for the access point.
The switch port the access point connects to has the following config...
interface FastEthernet1/0/3
description ## Access Point ##
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 121
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,121-124
switchport mode trunk

Can anyone explain what I've done wrong? Thanks in advance for any help,

Hello Huw,
as i see in your confirguartion.
native VLAN is 121. so you have to correct following in your AP configuration
1) interface Dot11Radio0.121
encapsulation dot1Q 121 native
bridge-group 121 ->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> change this to brige-group 1 , native always tied to bridge group 1
2)
interface FastEthernet0.121
encapsulation dot1Q 121
add also under this sub interface
bridge-group 1

Prioritize data on one SSID on an autonomous AP with multiple SSIDs

Hello,
I have a standalone AP(AP1261N) which is configured with 3 SSIDs.I would like to prioritize any data flow on SSID 1 for example so that users on SSID 1 are always functional independent on what is happening on the other SSIDS.
Then have the SSID 2 with a lower priority and SSID 3 lowest priority.
Each SSID is associated with a vlan.
I have seen some posts describing that this can be done using QOS associated with the different vlans.
Could someone please explain how I could configure the AP to do so?

Here are the few important points you need to understand when it comes to Autonomous AP QoS (this is extract from the link provided by Scot in above).
The QoS implementation for wireless LANs differs from QoS implementations on other Cisco devices. With QoS enabled, access points perform the following:
•They do not classify packets; they prioritize packets based on DSCP value, client type (such as a wireless phone), or the priority value in the 802.1q or 802.1p tag.
•They do not construct internal DSCP values; they only support mapping by assigning IP DSCP, Precedence, or Protocol values to Layer 2 COS values.
•They carry out EDCF like queuing on the radio egress port only.
•They do only FIFO queueing on the Ethernet egress port.
•They support only 802.1Q/P tagged packets. Access points do not support ISL.
•They support only MQC policy-map set cos action.
•They prioritize the traffic from voice clients (such as Symbol phones) over traffic from other clients when the QoS Element for Wireless Phones feature is enabled.
•They support Spectralink phones using the class-map IP protocol clause with the protocol value set to 119.
Also it is important to understand what type of traffic get impacted by AAP QoS. When you configure AAP for QoS it will primarily affect downstream traffic from AP to Client (No control over traffic coming from wireless client to AP - where priority will determine by WMM UP of clients traffic)
As you can see in the above, only FIFO available on ethernet egress (from AP to rest of your network) & then depend on how do you configure network switch ports connected to these AP (either trust DSCP or COS) it will determine how QoS maintain within your wired network.
In unified wireless enviroment you can classify each SSID with different QoS profile (Platinum, Gold, Silver & Bronze) & control what is the max level of QoS priority packets will get in each SSID. But in autonomous world it is not straightforward like that.

Single access point with multiple ssids and single channel possible?

Hi everybody.
I have this silly question.
Let say we have three vlans, vlan1,2,3 and they are mapped to wlans as follows:
Vlan 1 ssid1
Vlan 2 ssid2
Vlan3 ssid 3
AP --------trunk------Switchted network.
Our Ap has mobile devices in three wlans, i.e ssid1ssid2 and ssid3
Since AP uses half duplex mode, mobile devices need positive ack from ap before they can send data, therefore once channel let say channel 3( assuming 802.11b is used) can be shared by all mobile devices in three wlans.
Is my understanding correct?

Yes ,that is pretty much possible as suggested by other experts on board. Depending on your access point you will have 1 (2.4 GHz) or both 2.4 & 5GHz radios.
You can configure multiple SSIDs (up to 16 ) known as MBSSID mode in autonomous environment. In Controller based architecture you can configure up to 512 WLAN (SSID) and transmit any 16 of them per AP (using AP group feature). However , it is recommended to keep multiple SSID count below 8 as for each SSID separate beacon will be sent on air which consumes more air time.

Elp pls!! am trying to setup ipad 0s7 to work with my 2610xi and also a HP 6525 printer. I am no where with this even after visiting Apple store in Pensacola, fl. HP says one thing and Apple says DUHHHH.

Hp says one thing and Apple here says nothing to it I don't have anything going. Apple says all the printers must say compatibile with AIR whatever that means since HP says bull.......! Do I need to download air software or what and than what? I use Windows 7 and all works there. Everything is wireless!

The 6525 product description has this statement:

Looks like you have to use the HP ePrint app which is available in the App Store

Try a hard reset: hold the power and home buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

You can try Restoring it in iTunes but I believe you will end up needing to have it serviced.

these inserts will store in two tables that I have to join in the cursor.
I have written cursor without passing cursor parameters. but here i need to pass acb_id and xyz_id along with alert_id.
then if these are saticified with alert_id 22 then I want to stop the loop run, else i need to continue the loop. bcause the abc_id and xyz_id are diff for alert_id 22
This is the issue I am facing!

Is it possible to do multiple ssids and encryptions on an autonomous AP without vlans?

I got a customer who just has autonomous APs. They are upgrading from 1210s to 1262s. They are currently running a config that is wide open with no authentication or encryption and using a VPN tunnel on the wireless clients for security. They want to switch to using WPA2/PSK with the new APs. They have existing clients that have to continue to work during the upgrade to the new APs. They run 3 shifts so it is a 24 hr operation with no downtime. What I was thinking would be to configure the 1262 with multiple SSIDs, one with their existing settings and one with the new. Then I could swap the APs one at a time and it would only impact service for a short period of time while I was mounting the new AP. Then once all the new APs are installed I could transition the clients over to the new SSID and encryption then disable the old SSID once all the clients are switched over. I've done this before with a WLC but not with an autonomous APs. The only config examples I can find uses VLANs. This customer is not using VLANs. Is there anyway to use multiple SSIDs with different encryption on a single radio on an autonomous 1262 without VLANs?
The site has about 30 APs and 100 clients. Yes I know a controller would be preferred for a site of this size but that is a question for sales and why they didn't see them a controller. I just get stuck with what they sell them.

How to achieve no-downtime solution deployment on farms with multiple WFEs and LB

Taking SharePoint Solution Deployer, my opensource PowerShell deployment script, to the next level,
Bill Simser got me the idea of making the deployment even more smooth on farms with multiple WFEs and load balancer in order to achieve a no-downtime deployment
The basic idea is to deploy the solutions on each WFEs one-by-one by
1. Taking one WFE offline
2. Installing the solution with the -local switch
//Solution deployment
Install-SPSolution -Identity <solutionname>.wsp –GACDeployment –CASPolicies –Local
// Solution upgrade
Update-SPSolution -Identity <solutionname>.wsp -LiteralPath LocalPathOfTheSolution.wsp -GacDeployment -Local
3. Run post-deployment actions on the WFE (ie. restart services, recycle apppools or IIS reset, warmup server), which my script already does for each server
4. Take WFE online again
5. Repeat step 1-4 for all other WFEs
I am struggling with three things here:
1. The whole deployment process could be quite risky when something goes wrong in between. And in order to roll back I would require the original solution if it was already deployed before (which I can back up of course before I replace
it)
Anything which involves changing the content dbs should of course be done after the solutions is deployed to the whole farm, so this should not hurt in this case.
Anyway MSDN says that the "DeployLocal" method (which I assume is the same as the -local switch in PS ) should be only used
for
troubleshooting purposes.
So it would be great to hear about anyones experiences with it
2. As there can be different types of load balancers (hardware, software) which might not be configurable through my script I assume that taking out the WFE from the the load balancer may not always be possible.
So I thought about just taking the server offline.
I haven't found an option yet to take only one server in the farm offline (without removing it from the farm of course), so maybe I miss something. Any ideas?
3. Before taking a single WFE offline, I would like to assure that this server does not have any open sessions, operations of users ongoing. Unfortunately I found only the possibility to quiesce the whole farm, but not a single
server. Am I missing something?
Appreciate any ideas which might point me in the direction to solve the overall goal!

unfortunately not. I tried several different approaches but didn't really success reliably with any of them. So eventually I gave up on it.
Interesting idea though that Eric Hasley is commenting on the blog post you mentioned.
"There is another approach that has worked for me in the past. Because the deployment to each server is handled through a timer job,
by stopping the timer service in a controlled fashion you can rollout your solution without incurring any user outage."
It could work like that (in theory).
Stop the SPTimerV4 on all servers in the farm apart from one.
Take out the one to deploy to from the NLB
Wait until it has no connections
Deploy the solutions on it in the ordinary way (eg. with my
SharePoint Solution Deployer ;))
Put it back into the NLB and take the others out
Wait until they have no connections left
Activate the timer service on the others servers and let them deploy
Put them back into the NLB
No clue if this is actually working and you still have the problem with the NLB, so it could take a while.
Also I am not certain what happens in state 5 if users use different versions of your solutions at the same time (old version on the remaining open connections, new version on the updated server)
I do not have a suitable farm at hand to play with it though, so can't test it.
