Trying to use Webutil

Hi all,
I'm just trying to use webutil, following these steps:
-Installing webutil according webutil manual
- Attach webutil.pll on my form
- Copy webutil object group from webutil.olb to my form.Notice that, when i'm trying subclass it, it return no item in webutil data block(Is it normal?)
- Finally, when i run my form it returns me this error:Your form must contain the following bean for this function to be available: Oracle.forms.webutil.file.fileFunctions
Where is the matter?

Initialy, the webutil.jar wasn't downloaded because i have forgotten to put this entry in my formweb.cfg file:webUtilArchive=/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar. Now put it.Now i another problem occurs when i try to run my forms using webutil.This error appear in my jinitiator console:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/jacob/com/ComFailException
What can i do to fix it?

Trying to use webutil - Works in development, will not work on app server.

I am having a similar problem. I have followed all the instructions from above.
I run my code in the developer and it runs fine. If I run my code from the application server I get locked up.

our application will not launch at all.

The first problem I see is that you are using an old version of WebUtil, which is not supported for use with Forms 10.1.2.3 and is probably the cause of the problem.
RegisterWebUtil - Loading WebUtil Version 1.0.6
The correct versions of frmwebutil.jar and webutil.pll are applied to Developer Suite installations and can be copied to Application Server. If you do not have an iDS installation, you can install the latest Forms Bundle patch which includes the correct WebUtil files. Refer to Patch ID 9593176 and Note 1188127.1. Be sure to review the ReadMe included with the patch.
The second problem is that you are using Jinitiator. Jinitiator has been obsolete for a long time. However, if you have some reason why you must use it, I would recommend that you at least get the last version released (1.3.1.30). This can be downloaded from within MyOracleSupport (account required) using Patch ID 7410076. If you do not have access to MyOracleSupport and you are using Forms 10.1.2.3, then you can use JRE6 (1.6.0_37). Do not attempt to use JRE7

How to open Dialog Box by using webutil

I am using webutil in 9i(9.0.2)
as in the user manual i did the changes..
except one..when i set
baseHTMLjinitiator=d:\webutil\server\webutiljini.htm
it gives the
Duplicate Parameter on Command Line..
when i commented the above baseHTMLjinitiator=d:\webutil\server\webutiljini.htm
and run the form ..that time formd gives the following error
oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions...
How to solve ..this issue ?

Error in loading a jpeg file using webutil

I´m using webutil with forms9i and got errors when loadin g jpeg files. I selected some files and worked ok. Some files (ones with blank characters inside their names) blow up the form.
The resultant error message is:
FRM-92102:a network error has occurred. The Forms Client has attempted to reestablish its connection to the server1 time(s) without success. Please check the network connection and try again later.

It would help if you mentioned which bit of file transfer you are doing there are about 8 different options..
For instance I tried Clint_to_AS with a file name containing a space and all was OK.

Open bat file on client machine using webutil

Hi all.
I'm on devsuite 10g.
I want to run a bat file on client machine using client_host function of webutil.
I have tried first to execute the bat file with mouse double-click in order to check if it is ok, and it works.
Now I want to execute this file from my form using webutil.
Here is my code:

FabrizioThis seems like a directory or OS level permission issue on the batch file, What is the error you got when you tried drag and drop the batch file in an DOS window???
I think you need to upload the image to a site and use the markup for the image, include the full URL of the uploaded file between ! (exclamation marks) something like ! http://../post.gif ! without the spaces.

Using Webutil(CLIENT_GET_FILE_NAME) without result

thanks for getting back.
It is actually a conversion from forms6. The call is in a library procedure rather than in the form.
The original call is:
v_filename := client_get_file_name(v_photodir, NULL, v_ff, NULL, OPEN_FILE, TRUE);
I have also tried: v_filename := client_GET_FILE_NAME(File_Filter=> v_ff);
The webutil log stops at the point of open file and the java exception appears on the console.

Setting Default Printer on Client Machine using Webutil

i have configuired webutil on Application Server.
i want to develop a form using webutil from which user can set default printer from client's machine.....
i have tried using CLIENT_WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.READ_REGISTRY();......BUT NOT YET SOLVED..
Is there any other solution except using CLIENT_WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.READ_REGISTRY();

There are a lot of posts about this. I suggest you search the Forms Forum for 'WebUtil default printer' and see if you can find some that has solved this issue.

Multipage word document cannot be printed using webutil

We have the following problem. We are using Oracle Webforms 11g (11.1.1.4). On the server a Word 2010 docx document has been created and needs to be printed locally. We use webutil for this with the following code:

When the document to be printed consists of only one page the document is printed. When there is more than one page (hard/soft page end) the resulting document is empty. We also tried Word 2003, RTF format but nothing worked.

Webutil/jacob: 1.10.1 as recommended.

Error while using webutil in 10g forms

Hi All,
I followed all the steps as given in the webutil user guide, in order to use webutil functionality in my forms 10g. Even then, I am getting an error message while trying to open a file from the client machine.
oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG_INT will not work.
I need a solution to this problem urgently.

Hi,
look at the Jinitiator console if the webutil jar file gets downloaded. If this is downloaded, which indicates that it can be found on the server, check the implementation in Forms. What this says is that the bean cannot be found, which however should be the case if webutil is configured correctly.

WUT-113 Too many rows when using Webutil to upload a doc or pdf

Hi All,
I am using Webutil to upload and view files and am receiving the error msg 'WUT-113 Too many rows matched the supplied where clause'
The process works fine for uploading photos but not when I try and upload documents and pdf files.
I am on v 10.1.2.0.2 and using XP.
The code example (for documents) is outlined below but think that the issue must be to do with some sort of incorrect Webutil configuration
on my machine.

All I'm trying to do is to click on the Browse Document button in a form to upload
a document (in this example) from my machine and save it to the db table called lobs_table
using the webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_DB_With_Progress program.
When I first access the form the field :blob_id is populated (by a When-create-Record trigger)
with a value made up of sysdate in NUMBER format as DDMMHHMISS e.g. 0106101025
When I press 'Browse Document' - a button in the form) and the dialog box is opened and
I select a document and click ok then I see the error message 'WUT-113 Too many rows matched the supplied where clause' and yet the where clause element of the call to webutil_file_transfer.Client_To_DB_With_Progress program
should be the :blob_id value ('blob_id = '||:blob_id) i.e. should be a single value populated in the field when I first access the form - so why am I seeing the when too many rows error?
I may be missing something obvious as I've only just started using Webutil.

Without using webutil how to read an image from client or own system

I am trying to read image from my own system.
(if I click on button (browse) then it should open an dialog box then i can select image from it. then I press another button(save) it should be store in the database.)
So, i want read image without using webutil package how to do it.
If i want read image from client system please tell me how to do it.
I am getting with webutil package but there is any other chance to get the image.

Please keep in mind that Forms 10g is a release not a version. Also, since you are running on Windows 7 64 bit - you should be using Forms 10g Release 2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) and a patchset to upgrade this to version 10.1.2.3.0.
Now, to answer your question - I happen to agree with MarkReichman, WebUtil would be my preferred method, but since you don't want to use WebUtil then the only other way would be to use a 3rd party Java Bean. I prefer WebUtil because it is supported by Oracle and I can contact them with any issues.

can the same webUtil be used for the report?
What i'm trying to do is that I have a link within the report as a hyperlink, when

U can use Text_io package in Reports 9i which reads & writes on Application server .I have never used webutil in reports but guess it can be used in Reports as well.

I am trying to use eprint and when I login it says my email address isnt registered

i am trying to use eprint, it says login, login says I am not registered, so I use create function, it says my email address in already in use, so I try retrieving password, then it says email address doesnt exist. so I can not use eprint.

I would guess this is an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
I would also guess you travel to other countries.
There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
Can you Log in here https://settings.aim.com/ ?
Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
This does not work for Apple IDs used as AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
More recently this has been a sticking point. It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

When I try to open iTunes a widow appears called Windows Installer. It tells me that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavalable. It tell me to Click OK or try again or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the intallation package iTunes.msi. I suggests I should find this in a drop down box in the window. There is a box but no folder iTunes.msi. If I click the cancel button iTunes will open and work. I wish to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it. I am finding that I can play music on iTunes OK through my sound card but if I try to play streamed music from the web in YouTube and fom My Space the music is a poor quality with crackles and distortion. Other forums suggest uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing it. I ahve tried to uninstall iTunes but it comes up with the Window noted above and then stops. I need to stop the crackle when streaming music. Please help.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
