Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Airplay problems, found something

    Hi all,
I don't know if this was already mentioned, due to to large amounts of threads on the airplay problem.
This is what i experienced today.
Whilst sitting on the couch I tried airplay from iPad to atv2, and guess what. I worked! Tried everything, even used the iphone but airplay just kept on working.
The only thing different from yesterday when it didn't work was that the iMac wasn's switched on. And guess what, after switching on the mac, airplay stopped working on atv. Switching off the mac and waiting for a few minutes gave back airplay......
So the mac slash itunes is messing up airplay.
    Cheers
    Emiel

I'm having a similar problem.  WatchESPN app no longer airplays.  I wish they would tell you what their update will disable so that we can decide whether or not to update to the new version.  This is definitely the last time i update any software without looking at the list of possible problems that we will get.  There is no point to me having done this since that is the only thing i used my apple tv for in the first place.

  • IPad (3rd Gen) AirPlay Problem

I have an AppleTV and iPad (3rd Gen), but I cannot seem to get the AirPlay to work. They are both on the same network. Should I be looking at anything in particular to match up for them to connect to eachother (like the ip address being next to eachother)? Please help. I had no trouble when I had it at home and when I moved back to school I cannot get them to work together.
    Thanks,
    Austin

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • ITunes 11.1 Airplay Problem: Icon goes orange

I'm using iTunes 11.1 with three Airport Express base stations for Airplay. Every hour or so the blue airplay icon in iTunes goes orange and the music stops streaming to the Airport Express. Reselecting it doesn't work, but if I power down the Express and then power it up again everything seems to work ok. An hour or so later the problem will reoccur.
This is very irritating. Any ideas?

I have this problem too, did you manage to sort it out?

  • A Suggestion for the solution of AirPlay problem in old Mac's

    Hi,
Today I bought an Apple TV 3 from Geneva Apple Store. Eventhough I told the responsible sellsman that I have a late 2010 iMac 27' with i7 Quad Core, he told me that I can use AirPlay. After coming home I realized that wasn't the reality. Fine, I am not going to complain... After some hours of search in google, finding out the reason of the problem and reading the reviews of AirParrot (which is bad for high quality video streaming), I didn't find any discussion about my idea:
Why isn't Apple or any third party developer coming up with a software solution to connect an iOS device containing H.264 chipset to the Mac with the USB cable and use the connected devices chipset to encode the video/audio and steam it wirelessly. Is there a thecnical barrier for this?
Well there may be a delay in the stream (because the processing chip will be not on the main board of the computer but on a USB connected device), but who cares if the movie is coming to the TV screen a few seconds later than the computer screen?
Could somebody please reply to this? I want to know why even it is impossible.
PS: Sorry for my english. I am not a native speaker.
    Best,
    Olgun Elicin

  • Airplay problem with 2012 MacbookPro w/ Mountain Lion

I have a 2012 MacbookPro that I recently purchased. I also just bought the AppleTV 3. I upgraded to the Mountain Lion last week and initially the airplay icon showed up in the menu bar, as well as the display in system preferences and I was able to mirror my MacbookPro perfectly. Now, my MacbookPro is not recognizing the AppleTV. The Airplay option in the menu bar and the display is gone. My MacbookPro and AppleTV are connected to the same Wifi and they have both been restarted and updated to the newest software! Why is my MacbookPro not giving me the Airplay option?! Please help!

  • Apple tv3 airplay problem

I have an iphone 4, macbook air, time capsule 500gb apple tv 3. When I try to play a video airplay with iphone, video is loaded very slowly, and goes excerpts. When I try to play the video on Apple TV 3 with my homework COLLECTIONS which is located on MacBook AIR, the same situation as with the iPhone. From the Apple Store video is loaded fine. What's the problem?

I finally found the like-symptom causing the issue of missing airplay services on ATV box.
Well, I have one airport express installed in my study room, which connects to the same LAN as ATV3 in living room. Today, I reset airport express to factory setting and reconfigured everything on AirportExpress, including its SSiD, wifi network key and device password. All of a sudden, my iPad, iPhone, iMac lost their airplay connection to ATV3. Port scanning found no airplay services on ATV3 box. It needed box restart to bring up airplay as my earlier walk around solution. I still performed reset -> restore for a "permanent fix".
That said we might have airplay icon disappeared again if there were more than one airplay device on the same LAN that would interfere to each other. Working on one airplay device from ground start would cause airplay service of another box malfunction.
My experience showed this twice. The first was happened when I put an airport express on the same LAN and I posted a thread here for help. The second was in this morning when i reset airport express to factory setting

  • Iphone 4 airplay problems

Airplay will not work on my iphone 4.
I'm trying to connect my iphone 4 to a set of speakers with airplay, but the option will simply not show up.
I have the most updated firmware for both my speakers and my iphone. Airplay IS working from my Macbook to the speakers, so I can't imagine it is the router or the speakers' problem. I have seen my phone work with airplay before. There is something about these circumstances which are making it not work.
I've checked firewalls, restarted them both many times, done the weird "switch language" fix... nothing is working.
    Any ideas?
Another symtom that may be related: I have the "Remote" app on my iphone, and it cannot connect to anything either. It keeps searching but is never able to recognize my mabcook, etc.

Apparently AirPlay is unique to iPad 2 and iPhone 4S now.

  • AirPlay Problems with Streaming Sources

When I tried AirPlay to stream from iPad apps to my ATV (2nd gen), I found that it works fine for media (video and audio) I have on my iPad memory but not for apps (Hulu Plus, Pandora, etc.) where the media source was itself being streamed to the iPadfrom the Internet. Is this a basic limitation or can we expect app updates that might fix this problem? If the latter, I would expect a Pandora update before a Hulu update given the different bit rates involved.

Hulu, unless they've changed their minds, have so far refused to include AirPlay in their app. Pandora should work, though. Do you have the latest version? If so, perhaps this will help:

  • Airplay problems continue under Mountain Lion, iOS 6, Pioneer VSX 1021 K

There's several threads about getting previously working VSX 1021 models to play Airplay music here, and elsewhere on the internet.  For some, turning of IPv6 worked.  For some updated iOS or iTunes worked.  For some, turning off Multicast or the IGMP Proxy in the router worked.  For me, nothing has worked.
When initially got the receiver and was using iOS 5.x on my iPhone, the receiver could be off, and selecting it as an Airplay source would boot it, pause for a few seconds while it did so, then play music.  It also worked fine from my computer.  Now months later, many iOS updates later, it rarely works.  Sometimes I can get it to work if I turn on the receiver, set it to HMG mode, then turn on my iPhone or iTunes, then select it as a source, then click play.  Often this does not work, or I need a TV on connected to the receiver, or turning the receiver off then on again will work.  However there's obviously something wrong, and something that I'm not noticing.
If I turn the VSX on and put it in HMG mode, then play Airplay to it from any device, it will switch to the Now Playing screen and say connected to the network.  The track title does not come up, the album artwork does not come up, the progress bar does not advance (although it does on the iPhone or in iTunes).  If you deselect the VSX as the Airplay source, play a new song, then select the VSX as the source again, the TV screen updates, but with the _previous_ info, ie the first song title, and the album artwork for the last song I tried to play.  It still never plays.  It's almost comical how confused it is: my iphone is playing Smashing Pumpkins set to the VSX as Airplay source, the TV shows Aesop Rock is the song title playing, and the album art is a Tool cover.
I'm at a loss.  I think with Lion, iOS 5 and iTunes 10.x this would work again.  As it stands, I have a new phone that has to run iOS 6, and my computer is updated to Mountain Lion and iTunes 11.  My receiver, which used to be so boss (walk in the door with headphones, unplug them and select the VSX and after a brief pause the music would keep playing, nice!), is now just such a disappointment.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks for reading,
    DD

In case you all didn't find the resolution to the wired/wireless issue here it is.  I too have Verizon FIOS and experienced the same exact symptoms as described above (except that I have a Pioneer VSX-1122 and not a Denon).  Simply disabling IGMP Proxy immediately fixed all of my problems.  Not sure why everything worked fine to begin with and then stopped but in any event, it's resolved.
If using a Verizon Actiontec router .... on the router, go to Advanced (accept the warning) and go to the IGMP Proxy menu and disable IGMP Proxy which should resolve the issue.  The issue here generally only presents when the AVR is wired directly to the Actiontec router and the iDevice is connected wirelessly.  Note however, that if streaming IPTV, disabling this proxy will also disable the IPTV connection, so in that case you'll need to leave IGMP enabled and place an ethernet switch between the Actiontec and the rest of the network.

  • HT204291 airplay problems

i got a code on my computer saying that i can not connect to airplay code =
An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Apple TV”. An unknown error occurred (-15000).

I think everyone is having these problems.
I get about 30mins out mine before the icon vanishes and I need to settings-general-restart on my ATV.
I've tried everything from opening ports to changing the uPnP timeouts on my router. Nothing works.
It's something apple need to fix I'm afraid

  • ITunes 11 + ML + Airport Ex. Airplay problem

ITunes 11 with ML does not work with Airport Ex. The previous version (iTunes 10.x) was OK on ML. After the upgrade iTunes detects the Airplay device but does not play. The error is the good old verbose message 'Unknow error occured (-15000)'. Console log: AVSystemController stopping Airplay and no any firewall or other system log. Tried to switch off the firewall, restart the machine and reset the express. No luck. Snow Leopard with older iTunes works with the same express on the same network. How can I downgrade iTunes11 to the 10.x version?

Okay, I have all four units (2 Airport Express Base Stations & 2 Apple TVs) working now and for what it's worth the iPhone Remote app is working better two. This last Airport Express took 3 hard resets and then some futzing with the Aiport Utility (at one point, the Airport Utility mixed up the names and statuses of the two units). I rebooted the Mac several times, had iTunes hang twice, etc. Whatever reports back to Apple is enabled on all my devices, so hopefully they get a dump of something useful. The Apple TVs are on ethernet via PowerLink adapters and the 2 Airport Express units are using wi-fi. I'll try them on their ethernet adapters tomorrow. I've burned up enough time on this crap today. And to repeat, everything was working fine until I updated to iTunes 11. Wow! Guess I'll do a better job of looking at possible problems before I update anything again. It's kind of a fragile system anyway, and then this just brought it to its knees. If I had one single standalone Mac, it wouldn't have been too big a deal (except for the dramatic UI change). But something tells me that homework didn't get done on testing for Apple TV and Airport Express units.

  • AirPlay problems

AirPlay icon gone. Ive gone through every bit of tech advice I could find but still no icon. Reboot, re this that and the other! Nothing uuurgh...help!?

Ok problem solved, quite interesting too.  Both my appletv and iPad are on same network, mine, which is security protected. I had my appletv connected to multi power box. Which gets turned off to conserve power. What happened is that when appletv was turned off it disconnected from network but when it was turned on again the appletv kept working. I could watch anything on the tv,YouTube and such but according to the iPad under configure wi-fi it wasn't connected. It made you think "well the appletv works so wi-fi must be connected" but no. Not sure how appletv can work without being connected to my network, but anyway,it does. So anyway, to get the AirPlay icon to reappear again I did this:
Go to settings on appletv,go to general,go to network, then configure wi-fi,pick your network and enter your code. Then go to your iPad and double click home, slide the bottom bar along and voila, there's the AirPlay icon back again.
Moral of story, your appletv will work still which fools you into believing that it's connected to your wi-fi correctly, somehow it is but not using your security code which AirPlay has to have for the icon to be visible on your iPad.
I hope this helps anyone else.
