TS1424 authorizing problems

I have deauthorized all computers and have gone back in and authorized my new PC. When I try to transfer purchases from my iphone, itunes tells me that the PC is not authorized therefore cannot transfer. It ask me if I want to authorize, when I say yes it tells me that my computer is already authorized. I have changed setting in windows 7 as itunes suggested, restarted my computer, but it still doesn't work. It is just a viscious circle. Please can someone help me?

Authorizing problem in ADE

I can't authorize my Windows laptop in ADE. Earlier I used ADE without problems to transfer epubs to my Kobo, but now I've bought a DRM epub which won't open. I've hit "authorize computer" and entered my adobe ID, but the authorisation process won't complete. Sometimes it says there is no internet connectivity (which there is..), or it starts the authorisation process but won't finish it, this can go on for hours, and I can only break it through the task manager.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling, Ctrl-D, but to no avail. Does anybody have any suggestion? Thanks so much!

Between your patience and my persistence this should work in the end..
1. I've got the initial .acsm file.
2. I can't use it to download the DRM epub file.
2a If I try to download the epub through the bookstore interface, when connecting to the website ebook.lightningstore.com the error message I mentioned pops up (the E_ADEPT_INTERNAL one).
2b If I doubleclick the .acsm file on my laptop in the Windows explorer, ADE opens and starts the downloading process of the epub file, quoting the book title, but then the download process stalls, the same way as the authorisation process stalled earlier.
Maybe another but slightly different proxy/connectivity settings issue?
This is the only failing book.
I have not bought any other DRM books yet and for obvious reasons am currently not planning to. Could've physically bought and read more than one paper book already in this time.
The bookstore will not provide me with a replacement copy of the .acsm file because it is not corrupt according to their information.

Just checking for clarification how far you got down the process ...
Have you been unable to download even the initial .acsm file?
Did you download the .acsm, but now cannot use it to download a DRM .epub file?
Or have you even got a .epub file, but it refuses to open/read it?
Is it just the one book that is failing, or are new DRM books (bought/library) failing to work with ADE and the Kobo as well?

The big iChat problems. Audio/Video (now completely broken in 10.7.3), the "not-authorized" problem

So, I am running iChat on OS X Lion 10.7.3 on an early-2011 MBP 13'' . These problems have been here for a while, though (I got my comp with 10.7.0). I have AIM/GMail/Yahoo connected..
One problem is the issue of non-authorized people. There is a list of "not authorized" people that I have to scroll past in my "offline" section of iChat buddies before I actually get to the real offline contacts. Big note here: All these people have the address (something)@aol.com. These contacts have come up as a result of my gmail connection. You see, a few months ago Gmail and AIM did this chat unification process where @aol.com contacts can be just added into Gmail for chatting. These @aol.com copies come up asking for an invite when the REAL AIM address person talks to me. The invites leave once I press decline, but then they stay on my list as not authorized. If I delete these "not-authorized" copies, the invites will come up again and the cycle will repeat. It is a nuisance considering how much of these false contacts are on my list.
Second problem is video/audio chat in general. This issue really applies on AIM/Yahoo—there is nothing for Gmail because people usually use the web interface which simply doesn't work with iChat video/audio. If the people used Google talk, the issue written below would probably come up.
See, what happens is that…(now in 10.7.3), video/audio chat is simply broken, simple as that. My contacts always tell me that an error has occurred when trying to accept my video chat invite. It simply doesn't work. They are using AIM desktop in most cases. When it DID used to work (to a very limited extent, I'll say; it was hit or miss earlier pre 10.7.3, now it's just miss), it was just video but NO audio. They could see/hear me, I could only see them. When I did audio chats, they hear me, I..don't hear them (so audio chats were pointless). The only case where this problem doesn't happen is where it's Mac to Mac, iChat to iChat. VERY limited in use of audio/video chat, if you ask me.

If AIM contacts have been added to your Google Buddy List then I would login to Google and remove them from there (the iGoogle or GoogleMail web pages will show the Chat option)
Whilst they are still in the List then the Authorization request will probably be resent (In this case it is probably being generated by the method Google are using to add the AIM names as iChat only sends it once).
Google/Jabber Video chats is only iChat to iChat and so is Yahoo with iChat 6.
The Yahoo App streams Video which People can be allowed to see and Audio is added in as an Audio Chat.
The connection Process is not the same and iChat/AIM
Jabber and Google use Jingle to Connect (in fact Google's version is not that compatible with other Jabber apps).
This means iChat to the Standalone PC app or any Web Browser using the Google Video Plug-in (PC or Mac) or to any Jabber app that is using a Google ID (or a Jabber ID) will not work.
On the iChat to AIM on a PC.
This has always been a bit of a hit and miss affair.
Some people have no trouble but other spend ages trying to set things up and never find the solution.
This is the Original Users Tip (up to about AIM5.9)
A "replacement" for that tip that has not made it across yet.
I have yet to try Video to the Web Login version that is now on offer.
However I would limit the Bandwidth in iChat Menu > Preferences > Video Section to 500kbps (possibly try 200kbps for 1-1 chats) as you will not know the interent speed available to the Buddy if they are using the web login.
Comparisons
When you compare iChat actual functions to what you would like it to do it can appear to be limited.
On the basis that you would want your IM app to be able to have Buddies from other services listed in a Buddy list (combined) or Lists which apps do you know of can do that and Video to some of them ?
Adium and ProteusX can both have Buddies from the major Services ina Buddy List but don't do Audio or Video.
Yahoo and MSN both allow the other's Buddies in the list but I am not sure about Video or Audio chats
They cannot connect to Jabber or AIM buddies even for text chats.
Jabber does depend on the server you use and whether that does Transports for you to have text chats with other services.

Mercury IM is a JAVA version of MSN and still has not got to Audio and Video
Similar for aMSN
Gizmo5 and YakforFree both died...
Skype is Cross Platform but is only 1-1 in Video chat. (cost extra for 3 and 4 way chats)
Yahoo had dropped support for their Mac version now iChat has the Yahoo option (you can still download it - IT being the beta it has been for years).

"Not Authorized" problem • iTunes 9.0.2 • Nano 5th Gen ?

I've had a look at a lot of posts on this subject but none that I have seen have helped me resolve the problem (I went back to the beginning of Nov in the posts menu), hence this post - *forgive me if the answer is buried here somewhere*.
*Its a query regarding 'syncing' and 'authorization' (again) on my MacBook Pro.*
Okay, here goes... My GF had a really old Nano so I treated her recently to a new 5th Gen 16GB. All was well UNTIL I upgraded the OS on the MacBook Pro from 10.4 to 10.5.8.
That's when she started getting the "+This computer is not authorized to play...etc+" message. Obviously not uploading to the new Nano either.
I have (and still am) in touch via email with iTunes to try and sort this but I thought I'd throw my hat in here as well.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes; I've Deauthorized and Reauthorized; Made sure the iPod is up-to-date, all according to the instructions on the Apple Support site.
I think, pretty sure actually, GF has accidentally created two accounts over the years (though why this should be a problem now?) as purchases from 2006 show under a different Apple ID/Account Name.
The newer account is fine. The old one we 'can't find'. We have the Apple ID but the password associated with it doesn't work (GF swears its the only password she's used, but I guess we have to assume it is incorrect). I can't retrieve the missing password clicking the 'send email' button in 'iForgot' as we no longer have that email account (recently moved from the UK to Oz).
So I'm struggling in finding this 'missing account', though I don't know exactly what to do with it when/if I do! I was hoping if I spoke to iTunes nicely they'd transfer purchases from the old account to the new and resolve the problem that way.

Two authoring problems .. please HELP !!!

I have two problems ...
1 I've authored an SD single layer disc with two half hour programmes and a menu page (with a background and overlay made from flattened psd) set as first play with a button for each. In one of my stand-alone players all is well.
In the other, (newer) player the menu doesn't show until you press the menu button on the remote.
2 I've authored an SD dual layer disc with three half hour programmes, setting the break point in the disc/volume tab to the third programme. In both my players, the third programme on the second layer doesn't always appear when I press button 3. I could understand if it never worked but its intermittent, what's going on. Any help deeply appreciated.

No quick answers but a couple of tests.
Menu
Create a new folder and put your project ans external assets (menu and 2 tracks) in this folder. Open this copy of your project and make sure your links are pointing to this testing location. Ctrl-Click the menu file in the asset tab and "reveal in editor." Assuming this fires up Photoshop check the settings-assuming PAL you should have 720x576, 72 dpi, rgb color/8 bit.
If this is correct then create a new layer-put a simple color on it and ditch the original layer. When you save the test project will update with this new information.
If this works from the player then you have an issue with the psd file. If this still fails then you have a problem with the project file. Create a new menu and import a fresh copy of the photoshop file.

I have not done enough of these projects to assess dual layer burners but two things come to mind. As an experiment let DVDSP automatically set the break point.
Also do not forget about quality of media. Changing brands of blank media might also be indicated

Artwork and Author Problem

I declare in the xml the local where the image that I want to use to illustrate the channel is hosted:

This is because iTunes cannot read the necessary tags because you have the wrong URL in the second line of your feed, where you have put your own feed URL. It currently reads:
<rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.viajandoparaorlando.com/podcasts/vpo_podcasts.php" version="2.0">
It should read
<rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">

Possible authorizing problem

whenever i try and play music purchased from the music store i get asked for my password, after i enter it, it tells me that i have authorized 2 of my 5, but after i click on OK a message appears:

That means it sees you as logging in on a 2nd computer and you've now authorized that 2nd of a maximum of five computers to access the service. Were you on a different computer, or had you recovered from a crash by re-installing any windows software? Anyway, i did get the same error message, but when I tried the again later, it worked OK.
As I've recovered from a third crash recently, I'll see if it tells me I'm using 3 of 5, so I'm going to have to see how to clear that back to one or else I'll run out of "authorized" computers

Authoring problem with DVD-ROM content, Authoring problem with DVD-ROM content

Out of nowhere, I can't seem to add DVD-ROM content to my latest DVD. The folder is about 1100 photos and weighs in at 1.6GB. The content is accepted, the DVD burns and all seems right until you try to access the DVD folders. The video plays beautifully. The folder structure displays but I can't even get the VIDEO_TS folder to display detail consistently. This isn't my first time to the fair, I've been authoring with DVDSP for 8-9 years.
I went back and reviewed the the procedure step-by-step, I even re-named all the photos to comply with ISO 9660 naming conventions... no joy. I've
burned it with and without the Joliet Extension Support, no difference.
I'm on an (early 2008) 8x3.2GHz Mac Pro running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and FCS3.
Anyone ever seen this? I'm stumped.

I feel stupid for not solving this earlier, but it took a trip to one of my back-up systems to see the problem:
The SuperDrive simply doesn't have the bandwidth to quickly transfer sufficient info to display these additional folders. I tried the same DVD on one of my souped up G5 dualies (with new 16X burner) and it seemed to incrementally display the folders. That's when I realized that a DVD with a couple of GB of video on it is a poor display system. LOL
I'll re-organize the data into more, smaller folders and instruct the recipients to be patient or drag the folders to their desktop.

DVD authoring problems since adding external drive-coincidence or problem

I've connected an external drive to home unit to store footage. I feel this external is a little slow compared to my Mac but not sure how to find out.
Anyway, I create mpv files for DVD authoring. Same process as always EXCEPT the external housed footage. Build DVD as always. Now my boss has these DVD locking up or pixelating. Yet, if she plays an older disc it still works fine in her system. Her other DVD player sometimes does not recognize the disc. I've even created the mpv files and went to FT work to build the disc. It eliviated the problem but did no cure it.
This problem does not happen on all discs.
All these problems happened with the very next disc and almost all the discs that have been involving the external. Coincidence or problem.
I intend on getting a LaCie external to use. We use them at FT job and never a problem. But until then:
I'm thinking of creating a QT file on the Mac hardrive and then compress.

Authorizing problem for this computer

I had an iPod, but it received water damage, so I got a replacement from Apple. I've been having problems with syncing music, apps, and videos to the device, but I tried to reinstall the apps directly from the store. When I connect the device to my computer it says the computer is not authorized for this account, so I go through the steps by going to Store>Authorize this computer... then I put in my ID and password and it loads for about 5 seconds then an Error comes up "We could not complete your iTunes Srore request. An unknown error occurred (-42408)." At this moment all I can put on this device is pictures. I need some major help, everything is going wrong!

Although you're getting a different error message, I'd try the following document with that one:

Certificate Authority Problem.

Hi Gurus.
I have an OIM 10.1.4 installed on Windows.
I'm trying to access the Certificate Authority but I can't.
When I access the https://localhost:6600/oca/admin and click in Certificate Management tab I received an error. Page not found.
The OCA is started (ocactl start)
Somebody knows what's happening?
I think that this is a local problem.

TS1424 Reoccurring Problems Downloading Content From the iTunes Store

I started getting the Error (-45054), so I went through the process of deleting the SC Info folder, and I'm still have problems downloading content from the iTunes Store. A new error saying "You don't have write access...ect" pops up. How do I fix this?

Authoring Problems - Please lend expertise!

Here is what I would like to happen:
A DVD that can transition in and out of a Main Menu to a play all that calls to a Main timeline and return back using transitions in between.
A Scene Selection Menu that can call to a Main timeline and return back using transitions in between And highlight the appropiate button. Sometimes the overlay does not show up at all until you arrow up down left or right.
I am trying to bend Encore to my will but it is not working out to well. I am an experienced Scenarist guy, but have fell in love with Encore for it's simplicity. Here's the rub: I am not able to get a menu return call to return to the Main menu that I called from. Instead it returns to the scene menu highlights button one which is the same number as the play all button on the main menu. I have programmed this 8 ways to Sunday all with different problems. But I have finally came close enough that I need one small glitch fixed and I am there.I am using transitions in and out of every menu, and there are Scene menus as well. Here is how the DVD is layed out:
I have a "Main Menu" with a play all button that links to a "Main Menu to black" timeline.{I use all timelines for my transitions so that that Return to last Menu will work if I have to use it. I would rather not use Return to last Menu because I like to transition in and out of every menu.}
"Main menu to black" timeline links to a "Chapter Playlists". This chapter playlist has every chapter of the "Main Program Timeline". The "Playlists" has the folliwng code: end action, menu overide, menu remote are all set to call to "Fade Up Main Menu" timeline, which transitions back to the main menu.
I also have a "Scene Selection Menu" that has a fade in and out of it using timelines. The "Scene Selection Menu" will act as follows when a scene is chosen: ie. Scene 3 is chosen. Scene 3 button calls to "Scene 3 to black" this fades the Scene menu to black and then calls to the chapter in the "Main Program Timline". "Scene 3 to Black" has the following code:end action-goes to chapter 3, menu overide-none, menu remote-a timline called "Black to Scene Menu" which calls to the scene menu.
Lastly, the "Main Program Timeline" I have a show with 10 chapters of video each of which have a end action that calls to "Black to Scene Menu" My idea here was that all chapters will call back to the scene menu unless they are 'overiden' by a play all scenario. The "Main Program Timeline" has the following code: end action-Black to Scene Menu, menu overide-none, menu remote-"Black to Scene Menu"

When remote is hit from the Play all button here is what happens: it goes to the "fade up from black transition to Scene menu" which is the end and menu remote command for the main timeline. I had to do this so that my scene selection menu transitions in and out would work right. You see I have all of my scene buttons from the scene menu call to a scene menu transition timeline which inturn calls to the main timeline chapter points. Each chapter point has an end action that transitions to the scene menu, and because no menus were used for transitions, the correct button still highlights. The scene menu-main timeline reacts properly and I am happy with the results, However, the play all call from the main menu is more complex due to the fact I can't find a way to overide the main timeline's menu remote settings. Chapter lists,Play lists,overides, all have been tried with different results.
****Basically, I need to go to and from the main menu with transitions and to and from the scene menu with transitions to one master timeline and be able to have the menu remote button call back to two different menus. If you came from the play all button I would like a menu return call to bring you back to the Main menu transition in timeline. And if you came from the scene selection menu a menu remote call should bring you back to the Scene menu via a transition in timeline.***
This sounds so simple but it is really prooving to be difficult. I thought Chapter Playlists would be the answer but I get line 331 errors and internal software errors when I try to use them beyond simple chores. I will try your above advice and see if it works. Any other advice is greatly appreciated.
