TS1492 While Syncing my phone it get hung up attempting to connect to the iTunes store. Trouble-shooting states that I do not have a secure connection to the iTunes store.
While syncing my phone, it get stuck at step 3 while connecting to the iTunes store. Trouble-shooting states that I do have an internet connection but not a secure connection to the iTunes store.
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Background: For work I routinely need to connect to a secure VPN that is completely isolated from the internet. When using it, I can only connect to the servers that reside within the network and the VPN software (Cisco AnyConnect + NAC Agent) seems to automatically redirect all http requests to external sites to a catch-all 'sorry you can't do that' page.
So while connected to the VPN, Firefox Sync doesn't work and nor do I expect it to. However, my issue is that every time I connect to the VPN, Firefox silently pops up a "sync encountered an error while syncing" error message bar at the bottom of the browser, which I have to manually close. This obviously isn't the end of the world, but having to do it all the time gets annoying so I was wondering if there was a way of suppressing that particular error message or maybe getting Sync to handle the secure VPN more gracefully.I don't know about blocking that message, but my suggestion is to turn Sync autoconnect off, and use Sync manually.

I am using Iphone 5. SInce the last 3 weeks the phones has been acting weird. on dialling a call it get hung on disconnecting it stays on the call ending screen only. this happens for atleast 5 to 7 minutes and then it gets to normal or the other way is to turn the device off and then turn it on. the phones also running slow and therefore at times becomes very cumbersome. a few of my friends have also been having the same problems.
I have taken the phone to the service outles but the best they did was to reboot the phone it works fine for a day or two but again the same issue.
Can anyone share any info on it?I'm glad to hear that they replaced your phone. Any experience I have had with Apple customer service and/or Genius bar has been extremely positive. While I have had positive outcomes from trouble with other phones in the past, they are not as quick and friendly. I had a Motorola phone and a Samsung phone go bad several years ago and warranty work through AT&T required that I wait for a replacement unit and then mail back the original unit to keep from being charged for the device. This usually meant almost a week without a phone. Nice to walk into Apple and walk out with a replacement device. Enjoy your phone.

how to transfer info to a mac book pro from a pc i need to get my iTunes and other iTunes related items off of my old computer so i can sync my phone and get my music.
I have already tranferd some info to an external hard drive i just need to get my itune items. also i have heard if you plug your phone to a differnt computer you lose of you information.

When I sync my phone I get my husband's phone contact list, apps, etc and the same happens when he syncs his phone. It does recognize our phones as different users so how can I stop this from happening when we sync?
Did you tick the box in iTunes to sync with the Mac address book? Are you using the same user account on your Mac, with the same contacts in the same address book?

how can I get an in app purchase that never synced w/ imac onto comp from my old 3g so that i do not have to 'repurchase' for the 4 (2 apps are groove and doodle buddy)?
SO, do I delete the app off of both the old 3g phone AND the imac, then reinstall on ONLY the imac, then re sync? OR, should I delete off computer, repurchase on computer then re-sync with new iphone4? I realize this is kind of roundabout, but the issue I ran into was too much stuff on my old 8GB 3G, and I was stuck on iOS3 FOREVER (couldn't upgrade to iOS4) soooo, I deleted a whole bunch of piddly apps from the phone ONLY, which then allowed me to update to iOS4 (on the 3G). Then, I could sync (which I did, but obviously not everything transferred, b/c when I synced the new 32 GB iphone 4, there are particular apps {doodle buddy and groove, my tap fish...} that are missing the in app purchases, but these are still on the old 8GB 3G). Have you made a back up of your iPhone on iTunes/iCloud when the contacts were on it?

How do you transfer voice memos to your pc? I have synced my phone a number of times and everything updates with the exception of voice memos? Also, my voice memos are checked to be synced everytime my phone is synced.
Voice memos, once correctly synced, will appear under your Music Library. Can you go through your music library to check?

my iPhone was stolen last night and I'm trying to recover all my photos from that phone and get them on my mac laptop. The iCloud photo stream only imported 1,000 photos from my stolen phone. How can I retrieve all of my other photos?
You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

It sounds like there are permissions issues with iTunes. When you sync it may be trying to copy purchased items from your iPhone to your iTunes. Check out the article below to try and resolve it.

every time I try to sync my phone and restore my content after I updated my iPhone, iTunes goes through the prompts and then says "cancelling sync" at step 5. I cannot restore my apps or music!
when i try to sync my music which i have on my PC's itunes it will just not transfere on the phone. everything will sync [apps, videos, contacts] but the music will just not transfere.
and when i try to download the music from the phone's itunes store it will say "Error. Tap again to retry".
Thera are no more details i have! i have no idea why the songs will not sync and will not download! -

When you restore from an itunes backup it doesnt backup music or ring tones. resync from the computer that has the music. If you bought all the songs from iTunes, you can always redownload them but ringtones are a one-time download. Follow the article to redownload them. For the ringtones you can contact Apple to ask for a redownload of them
