TS1538 Help.. have updated my iphone 4 to the ios6 software but now itunes in not recognising my device, same with my brand new ipad.
Can anyone help... I have updated my iphone 4 and ipad 3 to the new ios6 software.. but itunes will now not recognize the devices so unable to sync my phone and ipad to itunes but it is recognizing my old ipod nano? i have followed all the help on apple but still not working
And what would that be before I or anyone else wastes their time and yours providing options you have already tried without any change?
If you have tried all troubleshooting steps providing by Apple, call AppleCare or make an appointment an an Apple store if there is one nearby. You have no other option.

Your phone is locked to a carrier. Only a SIM from that carrier can be used to activate the phone. Ask the "friend of your mom's" to which carrier the phone is locked. You'll then need to contact that carrier and see if you are eligible to have the phone unlocked. If not, the phone is useless to you.

I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

Why is 50GB of music gone? All music should exist on the computer. Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on. -

Try resetting the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You will not lose any data as a result of the resets. -
I can no longer sync my iphone 4, ipad 2 or ipod touch with itunes on my PC since updating itunes.
Itunes does not recognise any of the products but the PC does , Have tried reinstalling itunes but no different
any suggestions ?.I similarly upgraded iTunes in my Windows 8 PC this morning and couldn't get iTunes to recognize my iPhone 4s or iPad 3. (Oddly, it did recognize my ancient iPod Nano, however.)

Did you buy your phone unlocked from Apple or did you have the original carrier unlock it? Or did you have some third party unlock it for you? If the latter, and you are trying to set the phone up with a different carrier than the original, you're going to have problems as the update most likely reversed the unauthorized unlock.

It cannot be installed. It comes pre-installed on every iPhone 4S and later. Maybe it was disabled under Settings > General > Restrictions.

iOS 6 only added support for the 3rd generation iPad. It was always on the iPhone 4S. Then the same goes for your boss: Maybe disabled in restrictions, or maybe actually an iPhone 4. -

it wont even turn on, it keeps going back and forth between the black screen and then the apple mark pops up for a few seconds, and then turns back to the black screen again... and that just keeps going on...
someone please help...Seems like ios6 isn't any good for any of their devices. I have an iPhone 4 and recently updated to ios6 and have had all the wifi problems and apps getting hung up on load screens. Restore is your best bet and downgrade if you can back to ios 5.1. If restore doesn't help with a fresh install of ios6 then call every Apple support number you can find and be heard like the 1,000s of other people like us with ios6 problems demanding support. There doesn't seem to be any quick fixes for ios6 other than an update from Apple.

I have the same problem after updating to the latest iTunes. I purchased an iPhone 4S this past summer and gave my 3GS to my 6 year-old minus the SIM card-- an instant iPod Touch. Things were fine until the latest version of iTunes 11.0. Until I updated to 11.0.1, iTunes would not even "see" the iPhone.
How do I get past the insistence to activate the phone? Right now, it's a useless brick. -
