TS2972 enable my tv entertainment provider on my home network - then updated "a newer" modem and now home sharing just stopped home sharing

Only 2 changes to my home network set up: #1 - I installed a "new model modem" recommended by my ISP provided, and #2 I had my tv entertainment provider install their modem to the TV receiver box for accessing my home network and now home sharing will not home share. 
I original had enabled, and all devices are still set up for home share - that's laptops, iphones, ipods, and ipads.
Any suggestions?  I understand these modem most have ports 123, 3689, and 5353 opened for itunes and the home sharing.
Now I am stumped on how to verify these settings.
Is it possible for me to verify these ports on these modems; how?  Or is it just wiser to contact these providers and have their technicans investigate this issue?  OR is it possible I am missing an even easier route to cure this ailment I have created unintentionally in my quest for connectivity between all things electronically capable and on the same secure network?
Oh, using PC w/WDW7 if this helps, and one other annoying detail, which confuses this entire issue of mine, the Home Share, pops on for a few minutes, and then disappears.  So yes, I am confused, it is there, and then it is not!.

Scan the Support Community sites. Apple TV losing connection is prevalent. The many postings point out the problem occurs with Apple TV1,2and 3; with different brands of router including Airport Extreme; from current and past versions of iTunes; after varying periods of working well.....minutes, hours, days; losing connection with Home Sharing and loosing Airplay; whether the router and Apple TV are in same room or separated by distance; after trying innumerable posted 'fixes'; after exchanging for a new Apple TV.
Readers, please don't post a fix until you check it works for atleast a week.

    Connect it to the charger and let it charge for a while. Then try again. Never upgrade your phone without first connecting the charger. Don't let the battery go dead or the entire device could become disabled.

    Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then login with your id. Any content already on the iPad will be tied to the previous owner's id and it can't be copied or transferred to your id - so it's probably best to do restore the iPad back to factory defaults and start as from new with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents And Settings

    Hi Roaminggnome... I was replying to a Wifi Greyed out or Not working... that is or actually was my problem... so it is actually clear what it is... I also followed all instructions what Everyone (Including Apple Support) instructed me to do to get this working...
    While I love my Apple products I find it frustrating that so many of us have the same problems and they don't seem to be fixing... i.e. also my front camera on my Ipad 2 quit working once I upgraded to new OS... to date.. there is no solution for this.. I have tried everything under the sun to fix this... so I can't skype or do some photo apps that require you to see on screen what you are doing (because of a software update).. and being that when I look up the problem.. I am clearly not alone, this angers me.
    LUCKILY..... new 6.1.2..... has fixed the Wifi issue for the Iphone... so one down and one to go!

    After updating to 10.4.4, I can no longer connect to our XServe 10.3.8 server.
    I have had other problems with updates as well on other computers.
    It would be nice if Apple could borrow a feature from Windows XP that lets users rollback to previous configurations. Or simply provide an uninstaller. Or some easy way of removing the update. Microsoft 1, Apple 0. Not that I like Microsoft, but Apple needs to do something about this.
    This has been very annoying having to wait for an update to fix an update.
    I have done all of the required permission fixes and this is a brand new G5 so there shouldn't be any corrupted files.

    The problem was not with the XServe or Keychain access. It was the update used in the software update service. Since I was going from 10.4.3. to 10.4.4, I didn't think I would need the combo update. Guess I was wrong to download the smaller file. I downloaded and installed the full Combo update and now it is seeing the XServe shared points.
    Now back to the uninstall feature: My System X folder is 1GB. Surely that whole folder would not need to be cloned to uninstall a 55MB file. What about creating a temp file the holds only the files changed?
    The problem with backups (especially if it is a server) is that new files are constantly created and would be lost if a restore needed to be done. That would be fine for a home user with only one Mac, but how many home users even have a backup system? It would take a long time to backup an 80GB drive to .Mac.
    If an option was made available as a checkbox that asks the user..."Do you want to save the current state or configuration?" and then tell how much space it would take up. This file could then be deleted later in the Software update System Preference. Software Update should also have an option to "just download" or "download and install". Right now it immediately installs after downloading. What about an option to automatically download new updates. Install them when you choose. This would save time waiting for the downloads before installing. Again, Microsoft already has this feature.
    Another feature I would like to see in the update process is...If repairing permissions needs to be done before installing, why doesn't the installer automatically do this during the install? The general public doesn't know to do this anyway.
    I could go on and on about stuff I would like to see in OS X but I think I covered it for this topic.

    It is more than likely the inability of the UK phone to support the US phone bands. You will probably be stuck with 3G and will never be able to get LTE. Also, your warranty is only good in the UK. You might be better of to try and sell that device to someone in the UK and purchase a phone in the US that you can get full service with.

    I do receive emails into my iMac for which I have 3 email accounts but am struggling on how synchronise between iMac and iPad so that both are up to date at all times.  I have also set up a iCloud email account thinking this was the way to go but have drawn a blank.

    I have set up my email address both within my iMac and my ISP as IMAP accounts and I receive all emails without problem on my iMac. I have also set up an iCloud email address using my iMac.
    I have enabled the email within "setting" on my iPad and have used the iCloud account.  I have sent emails from the iMac to iPad using the iCloud account address and vice versa.  I have also sent emails from the iPad to the iMac using my non-iCloud email address and they have gotten through.
    The one thing I would like to have is for the iPad "mail" mailboxes to mimic the iMac "mail" mailboxes and both to be "in sync".  I am not really interested in using the iCloud email address for my email but would really like to use my "normal" addresses as these are what most people know me by.
    Do I need to set additional accounts within the iPad which are the same as the email accounts I have within the iMac and my ISP?  I have reached the end of my knowledge as regards email synchronsing.

    Hello everyone,
    I've got a "Workgroup" network consisting of two XP Pro PCs, one XP Pro Laptop, a networked printer and a Linksys Router (BEFSR41) attached to a Linksys Wireless Router (WRT54G).  All PCs are running
    identical versions of ESET protection, of WIN XP Pro, etc.
    When hard-wired, all PCs can access the internet, can share (Explore/delete/copy/move, etc.) files, can access the printer, etc.  In other words, they all work like they are supposed to.
    When using the WIRELESS connection on my laptop it's different.  The Laptop can access the internet and printer but neither of the two PCs.  Also, neither of the two PCs can access the Laptop either.  When I attempt to (Windows) Explore wirelessly, or if I attempt to communicate with the PCs any other way, I get the error message "No network provider accepted the given network path".
    I have searched the web and even tried the stuff that didn't make sense ("enable File & Print Sharing"... If it weren't already enabled then why would it work when hard-wired?).  I even tried a new wireless router with the same results.  Again, everything works as designed when hard-wired.
    The ONLY time I have been able to wirelessly access the shared files on all PCs was when I turned off the wireless security.  In other words, if I disable the wireless router's WEP/WPA/etc. keys, THEN I can do everything wirelessly that I could when hard-wired.  I don't feel comfy about that ;-).
    I didn't used to have this problem so I suspect it may have been caused by either a Windows or security software update.
    Would someone please offer suggestions of what I might try to solve this problem? I'd surely be grateful!

    Ya'all remember in the movie "Jumping Jack Flash" where
    Whoopie Goldberg was given the riddle "What's the KEY?"?
    IT'S FIXED!!! Now the bad news... I'm not certain whether it was
    fixed by one, or a combination of things (and don't have the
    time to reverse each step, one at a time, to determine).
    I first disabled dynamic DHCP on the router then tried to
    give each device on the network a fixed IP address. Since I
    am not a wizard I may not have done this correctly.
    Believing that, I took unnecessary devices off the network
    keeping only one desktop PC and the laptop. Everything
    worked correctly hard-wired but not wirelessly. This
    eliminated the DHCP server as the cause.
    I also tried static IP addresses with MAC filtering. Same
    result.
    A suggestion was made to use the router's installation disk
    in the Laptop, making sure that was the ONLY PC attached to
    the router to set it up. I decided to wipe it clean, start
    from scratch and did a router reset (to factory specs).
    Using the disk led me to unexpected errors in communication
    during the setup... I must have tried three times before
    having the installation go cleanly due to one setting or
    another being incorrect on the laptop. I'm not sure at this
    point whether the settings were changed during testing or
    before the problem first surfaced. Sorry. :-(. Anyway, after
    the installation went through, I was back at square one with
    the same results and it was time to implement a
    Strategy-Based Diagnostic routine!
    Remember I mentioned in my OP that if I disabled the
    wireless security then everything worked? That was my
    primary clue. The router's instruction manual *clearly*
    states the network will not perform as expected if the
    security key in the router does not match the security key
    used in the wireless devices (Laptop). I must have read that
    100 times.
    In the router setup window under Wireless\Wireless Security
    it offers a security key choice of "Disabled", "WPA
    Personal", "WPA Enterprise", "WPA2 Personal", "WPA2
    Enterprise", "Radius" and "WEP".
    On the Laptop, in the " Properties"
    Association folder tab there is a drop-down menu for
    "Network Authentication". Here I can choose a security key
    of "Open", "Shared", "WPA", "WPA-PSK", "WPA2" or "WPA2-PSK".
    This is where it gets confusing. Apparently there is a
    difference between what the router calls a security key and
    what the laptop calls a key... In other words, the security
    key offerings of the router aren't *identical* to the
    choices in the Laptop. After learning what differences each
    security key had, I determined "WPA Personal" isn't the same
    as "WPA-PSK". "PSK" does not equal "Personal" it means
    "Pre-Shared Key". My bad. How stupid of me to assume only
    the names were different! Why isn't there uniformity between
    what the router offered and what choices the laptop had?
    Knowing "Disabled" (called "Open" in the Laptop - see the
    similarity???) worked, I tried the next stronger security
    key, "WEP". That selection offered some protection but not
    everything worked! Next I tried "WPA" then "WPA-PSK", etc.
    until I found (what I believe to be) the only security key
    to work properly... "WPA2 Personal" in the router and "WPA2"
    in the Laptop (look IDENTICAL to you???) allowed me to do
    everything that I could do hard-wired! I had assumed
    erroniously, that if the next higher security key didn't
    work, none would. I was wrong!
    The weird stuff: I believe in my frustration, prior to
    selecting the WPA2 key, I got distracted and I ran the
    Wireless Network Wizard on the desktop PC. Keep in mind,
    this PC has no wireless card. After it "completed
    successfully" I explored the Laptop and visa-versa
    wirelessly! This step may or may not have been the "KEY" all
    along, sorry.

    Thsi not a lot of nfo to go on, nor have you included the OSX, model of you MBP. PLease post that so that anyone reading this might be able to offer some help, as well as some more info on "I've damaged my aux port.
    That being said, all I can suggest is to go to system preferences>sound>output tab and see if you can select internal speakers.
    With the info available all I would otherwise suggest is a pram reset:
    Power off the MBP, Power back up holding option, command, P R (no commas) hold these immediatly afterpower up, contine to hold them till you hear the start chime 2 times then release. See if your speakers work.
    Post the afore mentioned info and someone here might be able to offer some more help. If in fact you have physically damaged the port that might require repair from Apple r an authorized Apple service provider. (AASP)

  • I chged my internet provider and new email address and  cloud is not recognizing this chg.  i deleted my old email acct from ipad and added new acct and since then i cannot send email nor the cloud will recognize the new email address.  do i need to sync

    i chage my internet provider and therefore email address. i deleted my old email address from my ipad and now i am not able to email from new email address nor will i cloud recongnize my new email address which is my apple id now.  since i deleted my old email acct   the cloud is not allowing me to chg this address in settting.  the cloud still has my old email address listed.

  • HT3180 The internet provider reset my router and now my apple Tv does not work in netflix i get ATV-ui10 error and when i perform a network test it works fine but no movies are coming up on the screen and you cannot select anything.

    The internet provider reset my router and now I cannot use Apple Tv.  I tired restore and reseting the apple tv and the Network test is fine.  Netflix shows error atv-ui10 and you no movies come up it just shoes black tickets at the top of the screen and says i am not connect.  Internet works fine.

    Delete/forget the network connection on the ATV and reconnect to the network.
    Power cycle the router.

    i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
    but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
    i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
    i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......

    if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?

    The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
         The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC".  Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?  An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time.  Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
    So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music.  I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
    Anyone have any ideas?

    I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it.   • My folder of playlists is showing up on my phone, but is no longer in itunes! How can I get them back into itunes to synch with my ipad? Sharing on our home network is enabled.

    I'm relieved the playlists (there are 11 in the folder) are still on my phone, but I can find them nowhere in itunes. Other playlists are still there- just that one folder has disappeared. I synched my new ipad to the library, and when I did, the playlist was not one of the options in itunes.
    Background: I have enabled sharing on our home network, and I haven't moved the locations of itunes files or changed anything with my computer, the settings, or my itunes login (apple id).
    My goal is to restore the playlists from my iphone to the itunes library on my laptop so I can then synch the playlists to my ipad.

    Music is not included in the backup (and nor are films or tv shows), only the contents of third-party apps are included. Did you not do File > Transfer Purchases when connected to your computer's iTunes to copy your iTunes purchases over, and/or have you not got a backup copy of your music somewhere e.g. on an external drive ?
