Why do my pictures show up larger when I try to use them as wallpaper on my Ipad?
If you have Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion set 'off' then you will need to use a higher resolution version of your pictures, otherwise the parallax effect will zoom in.

When the parallax effect is on, you may notice the following:
Wallpaper, icons, and alerts shift slightly as you move your phone.
When you set a wallpaper in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness, the photo or image will be slightly zoomed and can't be scaled to fit the screen.
If you zoom in, you will need to rescale your wallpaper to fit to the screen. You can't rescale certain photo formats, including landscape or square images.

When I try to use the Message feature on my iPad 2, to send a message to a friends iPhone (on iOS 5 too), why will it not allow me to send the message?
Check to make sure you are not typing your message in the Subject line. If you are, it won't let you send the message. Cut and paste the message into the Message field and you should be all set.
FYI, you can disable the Subject line from your messages in Settings/Messages. -
I bought my Apple iTunes & Apple AppStore Card's at Best Buy, but when I try to use them I get this error: The Gift Certificate or Prepaid Card code you entered has not Ben properly activated. What did I do wrong or did Best Buy not scan it right! Real Geniuses in that store!

Two new programmes from differant companies have loaded ok but when I try to use them I get an imediate error message -quit unexpectedly- and the programme closes. What is wrong?
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful. -
Why does the program crash repeatedly when I try and use Sound Cloud

You might already have tried these things, but just in case:
(1) To rule out one of your extensions as the culprit, can you reproduce the problem in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Any difference?
(2) If Firefox lags on multiple sites (not responding, slow scripts), try disabling the protected mode feature of the Flash Player plugin. The following pages provide information on how to disable the feature.

That takes effect after Flash is completely unloaded; you might need to exit and restart Firefox. -
I can see my images in the libarary as thumbnails but when i try to edit/email some of them become Exclamation Marks in a triangle.
What does the exclamation mark mean and how to i retrieve the photoThe exclamation make is an indication that iPhoto has broken the file path to the original photo.
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I get InvalidOperationException when I try to use Metadatatype with a viewmodel
I have a model with certain properties. I use separated a class with the MetadataType to define requirements for properties. I also try to use the same metadata class with a viewmodel defining just a subset of properties. This is a simple example code of the
situation for clarification:

The problem is when the razor engine tries to process the view, it throws an InvalidOperationException with the following error message:
The associated metadata type for type 'ViewModelA' contains the following unknown properties or fields: Property2.
Please make sure that the names of these members match the names of the properties on the main type.
In my understanding the problem here is that the metadata contains properties which the the view model does not. However, this way I don't really understand the advantages of having a metadata class. So my questions are
1) Is there a way to prevent of throwing this exception?
2) If not, what it the best pattern to this situation? (like using a model, a viewmodel, which contains the subset of the properties of the model, defining data annotations by keeping the DRY approach).Hi,

Why are my apps unchecking themselves when i try to sync them
When i download new apps and try to sync them they uncheck themselves my computer is authorized to use them. how can i get them to stop unchecking hemselves
Maybe the apps are not compatible with iOS 5. Some other users have discoverd that incompatibility.

Why does my image go black when i try to use a slection tool?

Did you go to the mfgr's. Web site, and look at the driver downloads, and then verifying that you have the latest one installed? The reason that I ask is that the OS, and most driver update utilities, will be about 6 mos. out of date, if not more.
Also, new computers are loaded with a "master" disc, that was probably created at least 6 mos. before it was used to setup your computer, if not a year. The drivers are very old. With a new computer, the first two things that I do are: clean off any "bloatware," that the mfgr. installed, and then update the OS, and ALL drivers. I have seen drivers that are 3 - 4 years old on a new factory build. All good custom builders, will not install bloatware, and will update the OS and all drivers, before delivery. On an assembly line, that will never happen.

Why does the picture zoom in when I try to make a wallpaper
Every time I go to make one of my pictures in my photos, a wallpaper, it zooms in way too much and I can't change it so it looks really dumb. Please help.
Mine is doing that too. I just ended up getting a smaller picture and them zooming in, but I don't want to have to do that every time.

Why do I keep getting 'error' when I try to import .mov and .mp4?
I tried to import a mp4 clip into iMovie HD. Got an unknown error message. Then I converted the file from .mp4 to .mov. I got the same unknown error message.
How on earth do I import these files? ThanskClear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Why do the colours from Adobe Color Theme creation change when I try to use them?
I've been exploring the Adobe Color Theme creator in InDesign. There are the three tabs: Create, Explore, My Themes. In the create tab I can create a theme of colours, get the combination just right, and then save my new theme. However as soon as I save any colour out to the swatches, the colour changes! It's driving me nuts.
[Original Colour] -Colour it comes out as-
[green turquoise] -prussian blue-
[strong, bright red] -darkish orange-
[warm purple] -faded dark mauve-
My best guess was that maybe the colour profile of the document was set to CMYK and that the colour themes work in RGB, but as far as I can determine it's just "North America General Purpose 2" and the Working Spaces include both RGB and CMYK. Therefore I'm stumped. I do not have the expertise to figure out what is going on and these are significant colour changes to have a really strong, vibrant colour palette turn into something much more muted.
And if this piece of information is of any use, my yellow doesn't seem to change at all.
Any ideas please? I've tried searching for it, but maybe I'm not putting in the right combination of keywords. Hopefully I'm just being obtuse and someone will tell me to put a checkmark in a box somewhere.There are some slight value changes between the Theme and the Swatches, but we're only talking a change of 1 or 2 and so the colours appear to stay true now. Total pain to have to do this extra little step every time. =)
a huge, glaring, and sloppy problem which really ought to be fixed by Adobe pronto.
You can batch change the color mode of swatches if you select all of the swatches and double click them. Or, you can simply leave the Lab values and let the conversion to the correct CMYK space happen when you export to PDF.
I'm guessing the fix won't be coming soon. The original Kuler app had the same color management problem. It's hard to see how they will fix it and keep Color Themes as a cloud based web app.
When you convert the Lab swatches the CMYK values you get will depend on the document's assigned profile, so if you make two document's with different profiles assigned you'll get different CMYK values when you convert the Lab values. Here is US SWOP vs US SNAP

Created a "Basic" key today, get 401 when I try to use REST services

Instead of creating a Trial Key, I created a Basic Key. But now I get a 401 (unauthorized access) when I attempt to geocode some addresses.
How do I resolve this? It seems like I should be authorized. I just created the key today - is there a lag between when it is created and when it is valid? My understanding is that as long as I use less than 125,000 transactions a year, I should be able
to use Bing Maps for free?
I generated a Trial Key and it works fine with the demo.it looks like they are using the batch geocoding service. Basic and trial keys are limited to 50 addresses per batch geocode job. If you are passing more data than that, then that is likely the issue. Are you sure you are getting a 401 error and not some
other error?

Apps get stucked when i try to delete them?
Whenever i try to delete an app by holding the icon and waiting for the apps to start jiggle then hit the X button, it does nothing but get stuck. After a while it gets back to normal and the app is still there. I know i can delete them by going in Settings - Usage and look for the app but that's not the point. I've never had this problem. It started when i updated my software to 5.0. It ****** me off cuz most of the games are still in Game Center can't get rid of them and whenever i redownload them it takes me back where i have left off. Any ideas?
