You put the machine name as the host name. I would put the (internal) network address of the laptop there and try again - and make sure that Oracle is actually listening on your internal network address in stead of only the localhost. Or are you running the java application on the same laptop? Then you can simply use 'localhost' as the host name.

when I try and connect to my wifi, I get a response that says "unable to connect to my wifi" and it does not even ask for my password; thoughts?

I'm trying to connect to my work's VPN. I am connected to the VPN, but I cannot access the server. I keep getting a message that says the server may not exist or is unavailable. I know that’s not the case because my coworkers are connected. Can someone please help me?
I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.

When I connect my iPod nano 7th gen. to my computer and open itunes, there is a message that says the iPod could not be detected. Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job.
7. Check for third-party software conflicts. -
Page not found when connecting to server (if not logged in on server)
Hi,
When we try to connect to the presentation server (http://esddev02:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard) we get a page not found error if I don't open a remote desktop connection session on the server first.
I suppose the problem originates in the fact that the installation of the software has been done with my credentials on the server.
The windows services start with 'Local System' as logon but the OC4J seems to start only when I log on with my user.
I don't see a reason for this as in the registry the OC4J start command is found under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Changing this to "D:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\bin\oc4j.cmd -start& " did not change anything.
Has somebody got a clue?

When trying to play itunes from my PC to my stereo connected to an Airport Express, I gen an error that says "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay device "Stereo" an unknown error occured (-15000)". This has happened before and for reasons unknown to me, the problem corrects itself, then it starts again/ Makes me wish I did not have my music on itunes.

You have to put iPhone into Recovery Mode and Restore. Open iTunes on your computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes.

We have run into the following situation using JMS under
Weblogic 6.1 SP3 (on both the clients and server, which have different server
names, so that is not the cause). We have no
problem connecting and sending messages from multiple clients to
the same server. However, after some period of time (which
varies), some "event" occurs that causes each client connection
to become ineffective, i.e., the next time you try to create a
new session off that connection, you ge a "Connection not found"
JMSException. In fact, when this occurs, all active client see
the same problem at the same time... there is no evidence in the
server log of any problem. If I have each client re-create and
re-start the JMS connection, they are able to proceed with no problem (until the
"event" occurs again). It appears as though
the connection to the server is somehow being dropped, though we're not sure why...
Has anyone else reported this sort of problem?

I don't think there is a simple way to rename things on the console (I may be
wrong on this). Via the console, I think you can create copies with new names, set the
targets again, and delete the old version. But it is likely easiest just
to do a search and replace of the names in your config.xml file.

Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder to remove the file(s) that cause the problem.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Connects to wifi then asked to log in but page not found?
i am trying to connect my iphone 3 to my linksys router, ( my computer connects fine) however i click on the wifi, type in the password, i can connect for a few seconds and then i disconnect from it and a page is brought up.
the title of the page is www.apple.com , below it says Log in then on the actual page it says Not found, followed by the requested url /library/test/successful.html was not found on this server.
so im not really sure what to do next, any help would be great!If you are having the issue where it takes you to a login page, goto Settings > WiFi and tap on the blue button to the right of your network name. There'll probably be an option to auto-join and you'll want to toggle that. If it's off, turn it on then back off. If it's on, toggle it off. If prompted to login again, just hit Cancel in the upper-right. Now goto Safari app and you should be prompted to connect to your network at which time it should work. It did for me at least and a friend of mine.
