TS4124 I had 900 songs and Itunes match loaded only 92 songs to my iphone devices. What happened to the rest?

I had 900 songs before I added itunes match and when it loaded my music it only loaded 92 songs to my iphones and ipad. What happened to the other 800 and can I recover them?

Music that does not adhere to the basic parameters for itunes match are not added to the cloud.  Such things as too low a bitrate can disqualify a song.  Also, only music that is in itunes will qualify.  If you have home-made music, that won't be added to itunes match.

How did you save your music to iCloud?  Did you subscribe to iTunes Match?

  • My daughter and I use the same PC. We have seperate iTunes accounts. . When I subscribed to iTunes Match all her music appeared on my iPhone. What can I do to resolve this

My daughter and I use the same PC for downloading onto iTunes
    We have different iTunes accounts
Mine has far less content than hers as you'd expect
My iPhone only showed the music held in my account until I subscribed to iTunes Match At that point all her music loaded onto my iPhone
Why? and what do I do to resolve this please?

iTunes Match is associated with a specific Apple Id. If you use the same Id to enable iTunes Match on your IOS device you will see the same Songs.
Once iTune Match is enabled on a device (your shared computer for example), Apple cares about not allowing another Apple Id to be associated with that same device for a period of 90 days.  Thus having more than one Apple Id associated with a single device to support multiple active iTunes Match subscriptions is simply not supported.
Whilst your music would be combined, you can from a single device associate more than one library with iTunes Match - until you can access separate devices this is perhaps the best compromise.

  • Can I move an iTunes library from Comp1 to Comp2 through Home Sharing?  What happens with the first sync?  What happens to 3rd party app data (specifically, game scores/levels)?

I need to move an iTunes library from Computer 1 to Computer 2.  Can I do this through Home Sharing, by dragging and dropping library items from one to the other?  The library consists of iTunes purchases, home shared items and music/movies from our personal collection.  Both computers have had all the accounts authorized, so I don't anticipate an issue there.  I'd like to do this so that my son's ipod is impacted as little as possible -- specifically, his game scores/levels and other 3rd party data remain intact after the 1st sync and the organization of his icons remain intact.
Is there a way to do this smoothly and easily, protecting his ipod data/organization?

Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear. If you replicate the library from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying it, then all will be well. I routinely sync my iPhone and iPad both at home and at work using a single library that I migrate between the two locations via an external drive which is kept up do date using SyncToy.
Backup the iPod touch on Computer 1.
Copy the entire iTunes folder from Computer 1 to Computer 2, replacing any existing iTunes folder on Computer 2.
Check that content is accessible in the migrated library. (Won't be a problem for a standard iTunes library where all the content is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside your iTunes folder).
Connect iPod touch to Computer 2.
    Sync.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong (it won't) then you can connect the device back to Computer 1 to restore it.
Note device backups are not stored within the iTunes library and stay on the machine on which they were created. It is theorectically possible to migrate them but there isn't really any point. Once you have synced the iPod with the copy of the library on Computer 2 then Computer 2 will make its own backup of the device.

  • I the cloud and itunes match. Some songs have the "waiting" icon next to them but are unable to upload and instead of determing them ineligible itunes continues to try to upload that song and never gets to the rest of the list.

I have  icloud and itunes match and most of my songs have been uploaded to the cloud. Some songs still have the "waiting" icon next to them and when I turn itunes match on they neither upload nor are they determined ineligible. My computer will literally spin its wheels for hours trying to upload the same song. Additionally, I uploaded an audiobook disc on my computer and 3 of the 11 tracks are still waiting to be uploaded???

The exclamation mark happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
If the missing files just can't be found then, assuming you are in region where you are permitted multiple downloads of your audio purchases, delete the current enties and download again from your purchased history.

  • I have paid for itunes match and have now lost all my music of my iphone except what I paid for from itunes, 964 songs gone not at all happy.  Can anyone help

I have paid for itunes match and have now lost all my music off my iphone except what I paid for from itunes, 964 songs gone into the cloud. Can anyone help please?

Enabling iTunes Match does not delete music from your computer. Why do you think it is now not in the iTunes library if it was before? If all of your music was in the iTunes library then it is also now in the cloud if iTunes has completed it's scan and all the music meets the match requirements. Enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser by switching to Song view and pulling down View > View Options. Select iCloud Status then close the small window. Sort on the new column. Your music should be listed as "purchased," "matched" and "uploaded." Some tracks may be "ineligible." Post back and let us know.

  • I used a usb turntable to import old vinyl records into iTunes. Then with the cloud and iTunes match I put them on another Mac.  The songs come up in the music list but they are greyed out.  How do I get them recognized.

I used a usb turntable to import old vinyl records into iTunes. Then with the cloud and iTunes match I put them on another Mac.  The songs come up in the music list but they are greyed out.  How do I get them recognized.  The symbol states the songs were downloaded from iCloud.  I would like to get them to play so that I can make a playlist, and burn a CD.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT204406 I purchased an album from itunes, and put it in a playlist. icloud status lists all the songs as purchased, and when I click on "Update itunes Match", this playlist will not update. There is a cloud to the right of the playlist name.

I purchased an album from the itunes store, and put it in a playlist. icloud status listed all the songs as purchased, instead of the usual "Waiting". When I clicked on "Update itunes Match", everything updated except this playlist. There is a cloud to the right of the playlist name. This has never happened before.
    Any ideas?

I deleted the songs from my desktop (iMac), then I used itunes match to reload the songs back on my desktop from my laptop. When they reappeared on my desktop, then I right-clicked on the songs and clicked on the option to add to icloud. This however did not work, and they just duplicated into icloud, but they were "greyed out" and unuseable. I hope I'm explaining myself clearly? In other words, the songs seem to be trying to go into the cloud, but they are greyed out in my library and cannot download. It is as if they are ghosts? My songs do play fine when I transfer them via itunes match, and everything appears normal. They just won't transfer via the cloud. As I said before, every other song in my library always work fine via the could, but only the songs off this one album that I bought from itunes in 07' will not work???

  • Cannot see BOTH synched library AND iTunes Match library at the same time

I ran iTunes Match on my library of MP3 files and hit the maximum allowed 25,000 song limit in my paid iTunes Match account. Then I created a new version of my local/PC iTunes library with those 25,000 MP3 songs removed, and synchronized it with my iPhone 4s running IOS7 and iTunes Match turned OFF. So far so good.
So now I theoretically have no duplication between my 25,000 song iTunes Match library and my local iTunes library that resides on my PC.
But even though I have the "Show All Music" setting on the phone turned on, the iTunes Match songs don't appear on my iPhone until I also turn the iTunes Match setting on. But as soon as I do that, all of the songs I synched from my local iTunes library on my PC completely disappear- having been completely replaced by my iTunes Match library. If I then turn the iTunes Match setting off again (while still leaving "Show All Music on"), the iTunes Match songs also disappear, leaving my iPhone music library completely empty. Have I misunderstood the meaning of the "Show All Music" setting, or is something malfunctioning?
My question is: How can I make ALL of my songs (both the ones I have previously captured in ITunes Match AND the ones I synched with my PC via iTunes) appear on my iPhone at the same time?  This scenario seemed to be working just fine under IOS6 on the same iPhone.

I had a somewhat similar experience.  When I enabled paid iTunes Match on my iPhone 5, iOS7, all of my locally-stored songs on the iPhone disappeared and remained gone even after I disabled iTunes Match on the iPhone.
A chat session with Apple support revealed that iTunes Match will in fact supersede any synched content on the iPhone.  The suggestion from Apple support was to download on the phone all the previously-synched content via iTunes Match wireless connection.  Of course, that would take hours if not days.  And that crazy workaround won't help you because you want songs other than what you have in the Cloud.
It appears that various members of this forum have not had this same experience.  I'm not sure what's going on here.  Usually with Apple's tight control of hardware and software these anomalies are avoided.
And I didn't really need iTunes Match except I wanted commercial-free iTunes Radio (which I think is great, by the way).  At least for now, commercial-free radio (with a paid subscription) can be achieved only by enabling all of the iTunes Match features.  I'm not sure why Apple requires this bundling unless its part of a general push to a streaming model for everything (more revenue opportunities) as opposed to supporting local storage.

  • Photostream and Itune match are no longer working ?

I couldn''t acces the Photostream wile in the previous releases I had no issue with that.
So today I had some time and reinstalled my Apple TV 3, heart about some network problems and a reinstall should have solved the issues
However, after the reinstall, I could no longer acces the Itunes Store, not Photostream or Itunes Match
After a cold restart, I could acces the itunes store; Photostream still doesn''t work and Itunes Match starts to contact and tell me that i can take a view minutes to download, but after a couple of hours the Itunes Match songs are still not displayed
So in fact I have a worthless Apple TV 3 now, which cannot play my cloud music, the only working function is Airplay
    I have to admit that was the main feature to buy the box for;
Anything for the moment or are we facing real bug nows ?
By the way, I have the Apple TV 3 connected via fixed ethernet using DHCP
via a 100Mb synchronous connection.  Iphones, laptops, Ipad other devices are all working fine
and the ethernetlink on the ATV  3 is also checked.

Disabling Fixed Ethernet, and only use Wifi solves the issue. Looks like a bug on fixed ethernet

  • How do I play my iTunes music on my iPad using WiFi and iTunes match (my music is stored in the cloud).

How do i play my iTunes music on my iPad using WiFi and iTunes match? I don't want to download my music to my iPad.

But that's what I don't want to do. I think I must have misunderstood what was possible with iTunes Match and the cloud. I had thought I would be able to play my music directly from the cloud using WiFi. I didn't think I would have to download it from the cloud to play it on my iPad. I store it in the cloud because I don't have enough storage space on my iPad -- I can't download all my music because I run out of storage space. If iTunes Match doesn't allow you to play the music FROM THE CLOUD, but instead only allows you to DOWNLOAD IT FROM THE CLOUD TO YOUR IPAD TO PLAY, then it's not serving the purpose I thought it would. What's the point of storing it in the cloud if you have to download it to play it?
The only way I could imagine it working for me is if it possible to only download particular albums or songs. Or does your whole library have to be downloaded?

  • ITunes and iTunes Match causing problems

I'm using the latest iTunes, 12 something or other, only iMac.
I have over 12,000 songs in my iTunes library.
The majority of them were ripped from my cd collection.
Only several hundred, @400, have been purchased.
When i bring up iTunes, i can/could see them all - no cloud icons.
All the songs are located on my local hard drive.
I'm trying to move them all onto my iPod but that isn't working - i'll worry about that issue after I get the below iTunes issue resolved.....hopefully.
In iTunes, with all my songs accurately displayed, I turned on iTunes match.
After a time delay and messages about info @ my iTunes library being sent to Apple, the UI display came back with a bunch of cloud icons located next to a majority of the songs. Some of the songs were the ones I purchased, some were not. Some of the songs were from the ripped CDs, some were not - I haven't been able to figure out what determined a cloud icon to be placed next to a song.
When i tried to drag-and-drop some of these songs onto my iPod - i got a message saying that none of the songs that have a cloud icon next to them can be copied onto my device, i have to download them first !?!?!?!?! Huh ? Wait a second, all of these songs already exist locally - i checked in Finder and they are all still located locally on my hard drive - why am i being told to download a song that already exists locally ?.
Then I thought I'll just go back to what iTunes was displaying before i turned on Match, i.e., my entire 12,000+ locally existing song library w/no cloud icons.
So I tried going to back to the original display where all of the songs were listed.
I turned off iTunes match and much to my surprise - several of the originally listed songs have disappeared and are no longer displayed in my iTunes song library ? And by several, i mean the majority.
So now, as far as iTunes is concerned, instead of having a 12,100+ song library, i've got several thousand less !?!?!?!  Why ?
How can i get iTunes to forget all about its current settings and state of things, start from scratch, and go thru the entire current library of 12,100+ songs that I have on my local hard drive and rebuild its db to accurately represent all the songs I truly have ?
    Thanks,
    BobZ

One thing I would consider is getting an uninterruptible power supply. I had my iphoto and itunes libraries on an external drive for years. While I was in iphoto one night the power flickered off and on several times. My Powerbook continued to run off of it's battery, but the external went off and on. It damaged my photo library and I had to completely rebuild it. It was a lot of trouble. Not sure what would have happened if itunes would have been open.
Since you're on an imac, a power outage would shut both down at once. Might not hurt anything. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

  • HT4914 I just subscribed to iTunes match but only 61 songs from my 7GB of music on my iphone showed up.  I do not want to lose any music.  What should i do?

I just subscribed to iTunes match but only 61 songs from my 7GB of music on my iphone showed up.  I do not want to lose any music.  What should i do?  When I go to settings-music-and try to enable iTunes Match on my iPhone it says "iTunes Match will replace the music library on this device"  I don't want to do that it only has 61 of my 7GB of songs.

did you find out the answer?  I am afraid to hit enable.

  • I had 800 songs on my iPhone. My iPhone dumped all my songs and when I tried to re-sync my music it told me I was only authorized 300 of the 800 songs.

I had 800+ songs on my iphone when tonight my iphone decided to dump all of my music. I tried to sync all of my music back onto my iphone and it told me I was only authorized 300 of my songs. All of the songs came from the same macbook in the first place, why the **** won't they all sync now? There's been no change or variation except my iphone dumping songs. How the **** am I not authorized? I paid for all of them! I'm seriously getting tired of apple's overpriced junk. It never works right that and nothing but screws up and screws us as consumers.

I was doing dishes and listening to music on my phone. I tried to change the song and all the music was gone. Then when I plugged it into my macbook to resync it all it told me I'm not authorized all of the songs. It would only sync 300 of the 800 on my itunes that are on my macbook. And it's been the same macbook and same itunes account all along. Never changed. That's why I'm confused. I paid for all this music and now I just don't have it anymore cause they say so... Also, this isn't the first time my iphone has dumped all my music, it's happened twice before, but let me sync all my music back onto it the other two times.
