TS4196 can you go back to ichat from imessage?

I updated to OS X Mountain Lion and got iMessage but I don't really like it as much as iChat and I was wondering if theres anyway you can go back to iChat. I can't just uninstall it like message beta. Does anyone know if its possible?

Which means restoring your system to the state it was at before updating to ML by reinstalling from your backup. Time Macine or your bootable clone.

  • Can you revert back to ios5 from 6

Hi, I have updated to IOS6 on my iPhone 3G 16gb, but seems very sluggish and slow, did a bit of googling and it seems this can happen on phones lower than 3GS/4G, so, can I safely revert back to IOS5? is this possible.
    thanks

No, once Apple releases an operating system update the older versions are removed and inaccessable.

  • Can you block a specific person from imessage

I have someone blocked every way but iMessage.  I don't want to turn it off, can they be blocked?

If they are sending SMS text messages via the cellular network, some carriers allow blocking specific source phone numbers.
If it is iMessage to iMessage similar to instant messaging, then the best I can suggest is creating a contact for this user and configure the text tone to None and the vibrate to None, so you will not notice when these messages arrive.
You can do something similar for unwanted phone calls, but you would have to download and install a Silent ringtone, but once you do that you do not get interrupted by unwanted calls. Google will find free Silent ringtones
You can even attach multiple phone numbers and email addresses to a single contact so you do not need to create multiple contacts. My contact is call "Junk Call" and when I get a new junk call I associate it with that contact and after that I do not hear the calls. And my missed calls list shows the call as "Junk Call". They do not waste my time, and I'm happy

  • Is there a way to view earlier messages in a thread without going through each day? Also, can you make a photo album from the same text thread without going back to the beginning?

  • How can you enable back the Android native Menu button in AIR 2.7?

I've noticed in AIR 2.7 for Android, that now the bottom icons in Android 3.0 Honeycomb are hidden (replaced by small dots) in AIR 2.7, whereas in AIR 2.6 they were always visible. That's cool. Since the bottom bar can never be hidden in Android 3, at least now those icons are less visible (unless you intentionally touch the bottom bar, then the icons show up for a few seconds).
BUT I also noticed in AIR 2.7 compiled apps, the native "Menu" icon is not visible anymore, even after touching the bottom bar. In AIR 2.6 you could see and press that button (which can be captured from AIR so you can show a custom settings menu or whatever).
So, quoting the subject --> How can you enable back the Android native Menu button in AIR 2.7?

There is a work around and a reason for the menu issue.  Honeycomb doesn't natively support a menu softkey, it is only to support old apps comiled in phone API levels.  If you compile a Honeycomb app in 2.7 or 3.0, it is expected you manage the settings within the larger tablet UI framework.  See below link for more info and work around.

  • HT1364 can you move an itunes library from pc to mac?

    Hi everyone,
The days of my laptop are nearing the end and I'm strongly leaning towards purchasing a macbook. Can you transfer your media library from pc to mac?
Can you export a copy your library onto an external drive as I don't know how much longer this laptop will last?
    Thanks for the help

Sorry, I obviously wasn't clear. If you replicate the library from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying it, then all will be well. I routinely sync my iPhone and iPad both at home and at work using a single library that I migrate between the two locations via an external drive which is kept up do date using SyncToy.
Backup the iPod touch on Computer 1.
Copy the entire iTunes folder from Computer 1 to Computer 2, replacing any existing iTunes folder on Computer 2.
Check that content is accessible in the migrated library. (Won't be a problem for a standard iTunes library where all the content is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside your iTunes folder).
Connect iPod touch to Computer 2.
    Sync.
In the unlikely event that something goes wrong (it won't) then you can connect the device back to Computer 1 to restore it.
Note device backups are not stored within the iTunes library and stay on the machine on which they were created. It is theorectically possible to migrate them but there isn't really any point. Once you have synced the iPod with the copy of the library on Computer 2 then Computer 2 will make its own backup of the device.

Once again, KP is correct, but I just want to add that if you don't see the backup in the drop down menu on the summary page of iTunes when you choose the restore from backup option, then the backup is unfortunately gone. If you backup your computer, the iPad backup should probably be in that computer backup. I use Time Machine with my MacBook Pro and can access backups from months ago.
On a side note, I also archive backups from time to time. If you right click on a backup name in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>Devices (Windows) or iTunes>Preferences>Devices (Mac) you can save that backup or archive it. It will be date and time stamped. I have no idea why I do this to the degree that I do it, but I probably have 12-14 iPad backups archived in iTunes.

  • How can i transfer back up contact from desktop pc working on Windows 7 to iphone 5 working on ios 8.1?

How can i transfer back up contact from desktop pc working on Windows 7 to iphone 5 working on ios 8.1?

You can't restore to a backup that was taken on a device which has a higher version of iOS than on your iPad, you will have to update your iPad to 8.1.3 to be able to restore to it
You should be able to update your iPad via Settings > General > Software Update

  • Can we move back an instance from end to previous activity?

    Hi,
Using Oracle BPM WL 10.3 MP2, Can we move back an instance from end to previous activity? If yes are there any ways to make this happen? I guess that instances which are aborted cannot be brought back from end activity? but not sure.
    Any ideas / suggestions?
    Thanks,
    -Sree

If the instance was aborted due to an exception, you could have an exception handler which would allow you to handle the error, and then retry if desired...
However, once the instance is at End, its done...

  • Can you go back to lion if you have already gone to Mountain Lion? I wish I had the old OS back.

Can you go back to lion if you have already gone to Mountain Lion? I wish I had the old OS back.

    Try this:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • When a TC is full can you piggy back a second one? If so how?

When a TC is full can you piggy back a second one? If so how?

No you cannot piggy back. You can offload the existing sparse bundles and start again. The easiest way is just to archive the existing TC hard disk to equivalent size USB directly from airport utility. Then erase the drive and start afresh.
But there is no way for the TM to spill over and start using another disk as if there was just one TC. And buying another TC would be a real waste unless your current one is old and too small. Just use USB hard disk plugged into the TC.

Really need to be able to save back to the older versions, in order to output vector files on an older plotter. Running an older application of Mac sign from Softeam, can't get in touch with them. Total pain to upgrade, been dumbing down for too many years.

  • HT1766 How can I bring back the information from an application that was mistakenly deleted?

How can I bring back the information from an application that was mistakenly deleted?

Only if you backed up the phone before that and did not back up after that. App settings and data are part of the backup. But all other data will be set back as well, you can't choose a single app to be restored from the backup.
