TStatus, QMStatus values in ABAP

Hi,
What are the possible values of QMStatus with ABAP syntax.
My code i want to write is as follows:
      IF it_rsreqdone-qmstatus = ICON_RED_LIGHT.
        b_del_request = rs_c_true.
      ENDIF.
But ICON_RED_LIGHT does not seem to do the trick.

I actually solved it now.
What you need to do is to include the answer you get from ShowIcons in '@XX@' where XX is the code from the program.
So, in this case it would be:
*Check if request is red
      IF it_rsreqdone-qmstatus = '@0A@'.
        b_del_request = rs_c_true.
      ENDIF.
But thank you for your help, showicons was part of the key!

open the text element in the smartform.
on the left corner, we have text editor button.
open that and change the editor (goto-->change editor)
on the new line, give the format as comment line /*. and you can write the comments as required.
such lines doesnt reflect in the output layout.

Assigning Javascript value to ABAP variables

Hi Experts,
I have written the HTML code mixed with Javascripts to create a table in the 'View' of a BSP Component.
I was able to set the value of assign the value of ABAP parameters into HTML fields.
This table has some input fields. I need to fetch the value of input parameters which has been entered by screen on an event which is present in Overview Page.
I can calulate the value mentioned in input field but i am not able to assign the same value to ABAP parameter for further processing.
I have already referred the following link but it did not work.

Please help me how i should i acheive it.

ABAP Memory value in ABAP Debugger

Hi,
Is it possible to view the value of ABAP memory IDs in ABAP debugger?
I know we can view the active ABAP memory IDs in debugger using Goto -> System Areas -> ABAP Memory
Whereas my question is for those listed ABAP memory IDs, can we see the value in debugger itself?

Did you sort out your problem yet? I am looking for the same. So far I know one can get the ABAP stack with the FM SYSTEM_CALLSTACK. This returns the stack but I still have not figured out how to access any stack objects yet.

Is there a function module to import a value to abap memory

Hi,
My requirement is as follows.
I have the following inputs.
Input 1 = some value
Input2 = ABAP Memory
If I pass the above inputs to a function module it should import the value in Input1 to the ABAP Memory given in Input2.
Is there any standard function module in SAP to fulfill the above requirement?

Not sure if my grammar is correct, but you don't "import to" rather you "export to" & "import from".
First things first. Why do you need a FM for this purpose ? A simple [EXPORT|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPEXPORT_DATA_CLUSTER_MEDIUM.htm#&ABAP_ALTERNATIVE_3@3@] statement will do this for you.
May be i don't get your question correctly, else you're too much obsessed with using FMs.

How to read Filter selection variable values into ABAP code

Requierement: In my filter characterstics, i have assigned variables, which use will enter when running th e planning sequence.
so variable values entered by user , i would like to get those values into ABAP code and pass them to some function module.
SO please give me step by step detail how to achive this.
MY understanding use the below method . but not sure how to proceed.Please let me know abap code to get values.

So In RSPLF1 , in paramters tab, Do i have create structure(str1) and then create component Data selection (Dtsel1) under str1(what setting i have to do here, where should i enter variable value and do i need to give info object name and how do it in code.i tried to following example, not able to get any values in tab_sel .

Pass javascript field value to ABAP field value

Hi all,
how can i Pass javascript field value to ABAP field value and utilise that value within layout.

since you are new here, may i suggest you to search the forum, before posting a question. This has been discussed many times here.
to set a js variable value to a ABAP variable value, you cannot do it on the client side, your page has to go for a server rountrip so that the value can be set into a ABAP variable.
for this we generally follow the approach of setting the js variable value to a hidden html element (input type=hidden) and submit the form, and then in oninputprcessing retrieve the value from the form field and set it to a ABAP variable.

everything is correct though some answers are not correct.
A Database NULL value represents a field that has never been stored to database - this saving space, potentially.
Usually all SAP tables are stored with all fields, empty fields are stored with their initial value.
But: If a new table append is created and the newly-added fields do not have the 'initial value' marked in table definition, Oracle will just set NULL values for them.
as mentioned: There is no NULL value to be stored in an ABAP field. The IS NULL comparison is valid only for WHERE clause in SELECT statement. WHERE field = space is different from WHERE field IS NULL. That's why you should check for both specially for appended table fields.
If a record is selected (fulfilling another WHERE condition) into an internal table or work area, NULL values are convertted to their initial values anyway.

Getting JS variable value in ABAP variable

hi experts,
I am fairly new to ABAP programming so please bear with me. To my issue.
I am creating a BSP which will read from the tax number table in CRM into an itab.
Next it loops into an wa and then passes each tax number through a javascript/JQuery API to validate the number.
The JSON response then comes back and is stored in a JS variable.
I am unclear how to get this into an ABAP variable so I can handle as needed. I have read some posts but they seem to be created for those ABAP experts which I am not there yet.
Any help is most appreciated.

I am still stuck where I try to create the hidden field, assign the JS variable value to it and then retrieve on server side using ABAP.
I read some places where it mentions accessing in the controller but this is not specific enough for me to know what to do. Here is a snippet of my JS/html code.

I am using a Jquery api to get a boolean value and storing it in the json variable. then I want to pass that value to an ABAP variable. I did maintain a page attribute of json type STRING as well. I also tried maintaining a controller class attribute of the same. I did not redefine any controller class methods.

Tricky! Change of navi-attribute values in ABAP and use in selections

Hi gurus,
now I have a teaser that really keeps me busy, and which might be interesting for some of you:
we use several statuses in our <u>Demand Planning in SCM 5.0</u>, some of which can be switched by using a user-function macro which just basically is a ABAP function module that <u>changes navigation attribute values directly on the database</u>, meaning in the master data tables of the respective characteristic.
Now, the code works, the values are changed accordingly, leaving the data set in object status "active" - <b>BUT</b>:
<i>when we call a selection, it still shows the old values, even after activating master data or running the attribute change run!</i>
This is not what we expected. Our wish was, that once the table was updated with the correct field values, we would also see them in our selections.
<u>Details:</u>
we have two statuses as navi-attributes to an article:
<i>DP:</i> YES/NO, and
<i>oDP:</i> YES/NO
Combinations originally are: <i>DP</i> YES/<i>oDP</i> NO
After the status change macro, the table shows the following, as expected:
<i>DP</i> NO/<i>oDP</i> YES
As we have two selections, one on DP status "YES", the other one on oDP status "YES", we would like to see the article vanish in the first selection and show up in the other one...
Does anybody have an idea what is wrong and what we can do to have to proper navi-attribute values from the master data table in the selection? Does the selection not read from the database but from a buffer?

yes indeed, I did check the object version, and it is A.
Problem is, the function module changes the data record which is "A" anyway. So the changed data record is active - however, I just had a look at the SID master data table, and it looks that direct changes to the P-table do not affect the X-table where the SIDs are stored. So I guess I will also have to update the X-table with the correct SID-values.
If this works, I let you know. We will be using this change by ABAP quite often, it is rather useful.

Passing values to ABAP/JAVA webdynpro appl. when workitem invoked from UWL

Hai,
We are using universal worklist for invoking a workitem. The workitme may trigger a ABAP/Java based webdynpro application. I have registered the tasks associated with the workitem in universal worklist.
I have few doubts in the integration part,
1. When a workitem is clicked in UWL, I want to get some values from the workflow container and show it on the webdynpro application. In the webdynpro application I can call a function module to get the values from workflow container by passing in workitem id.How can I pass a workitem id to webdynpro application when a workitme is clicked.
2. After the user open the workitem a webdynpro application is shown on the screen. Lets assume this screen is having "Approve", "Reject" and "Exit" button. When this button is clicked how to pass that information to workflow so that the workflow flow its paths.
Please let me know how to do this.

4. In webdynpro application what I did is,
a. In the context of component controller, i have created attributes to store workflow id, and some attributes to store the value from workflow container.
b. I created a view and in view context i have created attributes to store workflow id, and some attributes to store the value from workflow container.
c. I created some UI elements in the view and binded that UI elements with view context.
d. I binded view context with the context of component controller.
e. I created a window and in the view context i have created attributes to store workflow id, and some attributes to store the value from workflow container.
f. I did context mapping between window context and component controller context.
g. I added the view to the window.
h. I created a inbound plug with name "START". This creates a method called "HANDLESTART" to this method I added a importing parameter named "WI_ID" and added the below code,

       l_cont_line            type swr_cont,

In Production the volume of data is very high, I m splitting the data based on Material No.
000000000000 - 4ZZZZZZZZZ,
500000000000 - 8ZZZZZZZZZ,
900000000000 - FFFFFFFFFFFFF,
and the remaining Material No.s.
I created seperate InfoPaks for the material Ranges for the above three.
I need to load the remaining Material No. data. For the I need to write the ABAP routine at the Infopakage Selections.
Can you help me doing so.

analyse the data. total data u can split with the help of Organisational values. take the case in souce system i have 40 million records of sales orders. then i will do like how many sales area's we have in our organization. assume. 4 sales areas then i willl create a infopackage for each. so tat u won't miss any data.
don't go for Material number, select organisational values.

Transfer variable values via ABAP betweenn planning areas

Hello,
I'm using an ABAP-coding (BPS How-To 'variables type user-exit) for transferring variable values between planning areas. It works fine for single-, multi- and interval-selection, but not for single hierarchie nodes.
I don't want to transfer the values beneath the nodes but the node itself. Has anyone experience with that or changed the ABAP-Coding.
Note, I'm using a variable type hierarchie as destination and get always a dump, when the ABAP is executed.
