TTG Selection Gallery

TTG Selection Gallery is made with hired photographers in mind. It provides an interface through which a client can review and select photos from an event, submitting their choices directly to the photographer's inbox.

Version 1.0 focuses on functionality. Look forward to version 1.1 for enhanced customization options, aesthetics and more.

Matthew,
As ever, you are correct about the lack of spam resulting from the PHP file.
My next question is, following the discussion with Judith in a
different thread, I can see what she means about the desirability of being able to annotate the thumbnails, however briefly.
I've hacked transformer.xslt thus:

+
<xsl:value-of select="$title"/>

and now it adds the content of the web module title field in below the pictures. So by editing the web title field I can put in more or less anything, and of course turn it on and off.
However, try as I might I can't typeset it using the <ag:formatted> method that appears in the same thread referenced above.
I realise it gets used as the "alt" field for the images in the thumbnail view, I'm more than happy to hack that to just the filename for my purposes; am I missing something about why I can't typeset it?
I tried the same trick in Slimbox and it works but it rather upsets the proportions a bit, so I doubt I'll ever use it. However, it could be a "feature for the next release"; I like it because it means I can use the Web Module Title field for the thumbnail caption and the Web Module Caption field for the preview caption, either or both of which can contain the actual image caption and/or title.
I think it's a good step in flexibility, anyway! I'll be continuing to hack and dabble at it, but my question about typesetting it remains!

• TTG Selection Gallery 2.0 released

TTG Selection Gallery has been updated to 2.0. This is a major update and marks the gallery's transition to a Lua architecture. The gallery utilizes TTG Slimbox Gallery 2.24 as a foundation, and therefore exists in feature parity with that version, supporting annotations, color labels, ratings, ID plate, a wealth of customization options and more.
TTG Selection Gallery is constructed with the photographer-client relationship in mind. The gallery allows clients to mark selected photos, and to submit them with a message/comments to the photographer as an email form. Selections and then be easily isolated in the LR Library using by copying and pasting and selected filenames en masse into the Library's Find pane.
The gallery employs Slimbox, allowing clients to view large-size images in an overlay without disrupting their selections.

• TTG Polaroid Gallery

TTG Polaroid Gallery brings
Christopher Einarsrud's Polaroid Gallery to the Lightroom Web module. Polaroid gallery doesn't allow for much customization (so little, in fact, that it only took me about 15 minutes to put this gallery together), but it does provide a fun and casual way to present your photo collection.

Think I may have found an answer for Mel.
I was having the same problem as Mel, but only on my standalone PC (non-internet connected). In LR, the wooden background is visible, as is the help button, and the images can be moved around the screen but not double-clicked. Previewing the gallery seemed to generate the previews (active progress bars at top of screen) but IE did not open. Additionally, clicking on Preview again showed this error message, even though there were no active progress bars showing:
Tried reinstalling Flash 9 but no success. However, my internet-enabled laptop worked fine, albeit without the double-click working in the LR preview. Then I realised that my laptop uses Firefox as the default browser. I installed Firefox and the Flash plugin on my standalone PC and voila! The preview in browser option works perfectly! I can only assume this is a problem with IE or the Flash plugin for IE.
Additionally, I went back to the LR preview on the laptop and in desperation/annoyance, I started hammering the left-click button on the trackpad (work's laptop, ha!) and found that the zoom function DOES work - if you TRIPLE-click on a preview and do it REALLY fast (was using two hands, one finger not fast enough for me despite my video game addiction!)
Weird. Anyway, do like the gallery, as well as the Slimbox version. Thanks for these.
By the way, both machines run XP Pro, LR 1.1, Flash 9 and Firefox 2.0.0.6.

• TTG AutoViewer Gallery

From the beginning of my gallery work for the Lightroom Web module, I had always intended to create a template for Airtight Interactive's AutoViewer. Despite Adobe's having already released a template for Airtight Interactive's AutoViewer, and because a handful of users have requested a TTG version of the template, I've finally completed TTG AutoViewer Gallery.
Like all of my galleries, TTG AutoViewer Gallery comes in two flavors:
An HTML-based template that includes a header, ID plate, etc., and a stripped-down Flash-based template that previews properly in both Windows and Mac versions of LR.
The Flash-version resembles the Adobe release, but adds support for image watermarking -- a feature not found in the Adobe version. The HTML version supports all of the options found in the Flash version, and a great deal more.

TTG HTML Gallery is pretty much what it sounds like: a new HTML gallery for Lightroom. It outputs valid XHTML and CSS, and a lot more customization options than the LR HTML gallery. It boasts thumbnail annotations, ratings, color labels and onImage Navigation among its many features.

Matt

Ah ha! Now I understand your problem. You didn't delete the XML prog. For Slimbox to function properly in IE6, you need to edit the index.html file after export and delete the first line, ?xml version=1.0?. LR puts it in there, and it messes things up in IE6.
My site explains this under the "IE6 Compatibility" heading:
http://theturninggate.com/blog/adobe-lightroom-slimbox-template
Remove it and things should be fine. You'll have to do this for each gallery that you export.

• TTG MonoSlideshow Gallery

A heads up for Web module users: my next project, TTG MonoSlideshow Gallery, is now in a solid beta state, nearing public release.
The TTG MonoSlideshow Gallery template will, of course, be a free download. However, MonoSlideshow is not a free gallery. Users will be required to shell out the $19.95 to www.monoslideshow.com for the SWF file in order to use the gallery.
More information to follow at the time of release. For now, you can play with a demo to get a feel for MonoSlideshow's options:

Cheers,
Matthew

TTG MonoSlideshow Gallery 1.3 is released. In this version, Stage dimensions and background color are finally honored and displayed within the LR preview, and can be configured directly from the Site Info panel. There is no longer any need to choose or edit the MSSwrapper.swf file. All of this means that the gallery is easier than ever to configure from within the LR Web module, with improved visual response to changes.
Many thanks are owed to Joe Capra, at http://www.lightroomgalleries.com, for his Flash work on this release.

• Adding a "static" image to selected gallery

Hi there,
I've been working with the gallery with great success so far,
but I'm stumped on trying to add another feature. As you can see in
this example:
http://www.thirstymango.com/troupehipnotica/mardi_screenshot.gif
where the big red asterisk is, I want an image to display (in
my case, an image of the flyer for this event) for each event. So,
there will be a different large image (say, 150x200px) for each
gallery selected. I can't figure out how to insert an image. I
tried the following in the photos.xml for a particular gallery
(here, "mardi.jpg"):
<sitename>Mardi Love "Smooth and Simple"
Show</sitename>
<photographer1>Eric Denson</photographer1>
<photographer2>Dina Lydia</photographer2>

<security> </security>
-tried placing the {image} in the html document, and still no
luck. I feel like I'm really close.. -or, maybe not! Can someone
please help?
Thanks so much!
Lisa

Thanks so much for looking at this!! I'm still having trouble
with the image display. The image (mardi_love.jpg) lives in the
same location as the photos.xml file, so I believe I'm referencing
it correctly. Am I missing a little detail of some kind? Here is
what I have in the html document:

{photographer1}
{photographer2}

see Links page for
photographer info.

and here is the .xml source (I took Kin's advice on renaming
to flyerimage):
<sitename>Mardi Love "Smooth and Simple"
Show</sitename>
<photographer1>Eric Denson</photographer1>

set in the html document.. Here's a screen shot:

• Gallery for client photo review

Search didn't give me much useful, so I post.
What recommendations to you have for a easy to navigate LR gallery for clients to add comments and return them to me.
Or, do people have recommendations for galleries they like for presenting images to clients?
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks!
Reid

Does the TTG selection gallery remember comments if I close my browser, reopen it and revisit the same site?
The problem with most stand-alone templates is that they are single session only. If the TTG Gallery or other templates have an effective way of being multi-session, then that is very nice and my next comments are irrelevant.
By single session I mean that the comments and checkmarks only exist for that visit to the website, and leaving the website and coming back makes you start all over. That is a big problem, because there are few things more frustrating than spending a long time commenting or checkmarking files, only to lose all the work because the browser gets accidentally closed, or the email fails to send, or they didn't know they would lose all their work by 'continuing tomorrow', or some other problem happens. Think about it... if you are a client that spends a couple of hours sorting through photos and then the comments are irretrievably lost, are you going to be a happy client?
Some comment systems try to make the system 'sticky' by using cookies, but you can effectively only hold a couple thousand characters in a cookie after overhead, and that isn't much.
I learned the hard way by trying to do some 'little job' sales through the "EOS Template" ( http://www.eostemplate.com/eos ), which is a VERY nice template, but suffers from the ZERO memory between sessions fatal flaw.
So be very careful when selecting an interactive photo system to use with your clients... if the data isn't collected dynamically and stored on the server somehow, I would avoid it.
I wish that I could fully recommend Zenfolio.com , since it has such a great interface, and it allows for the client to create their own 'collections' of referenced photos (a great sorting aid), but comments are not implemented yet.

• "Quickproof" client feedback web gallery

I have installed the TTG Selection Gallery template from the turninggate.net which is great for quick client feedback. Clients can click on the proofs they want delivered finished and an e-mail with the corresponding file names are being generated and sent to the photographer. It would be great if Adobe could provide such a template with a really user-friendly configuration method out of the box.
Secondly, generating proofs for web can take a veeery long time if you have hundreds of proofs to generate - which seems a bit pointless of the output is just web proofs.
Capture One 3.7 used to have a "QuickProof" mode which applied WB corrections etc. but still managed to cranck out lo-res previews for web etc. in a fraction of the time it would take to generate regular jpgs or tiffs. It would be really great if a similar draft mode could be incorporated into LR as it would save lots of time.

QuickProof or RSP's FastProofs was, I believe, a way of exporting from the previews. I think that would be valuable as a feature not just for the proofing process (we can already do "draft mode" printing that I think does this), but also for people for whom the previews are their last image backups. We've had our share of requests for rescuing images that were otherwise lost from the previews.

• Lightroom 2.2 :: Gallery Problems :: Mac OS 10.4.11 :: G5 Quad 7GB RAM

I am attempting to create a large client photo gallery using two Folders of images at one time. The Gallery Template has been customized and saved, taken from TTG SimpleViewer Gallery 1.6 BASIC. I see no progress bar either. Tried quitting and restarting. Also tried deleting my cache. Cache is set to 50GB.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?
Linda

> A collection is always a good idea for a web gallery - the collection quietly saves the web settings you last applied to it. While that's good advice, I doubt if it relates to your issue - as Jao found, he could create galleries from multiple folders.
> Can you export a small gallery?
John,
Since posting I've made a little progress, but it's really still way too slow. I am creating a gallery from only one folder instead of two. The folder contains 229 RAW files. It looks like the gallery is being made based on the progress bar, but it's very slow.
Do you recommend I possibly increase my cache? And if so, what is a good number? Currently it's set to 50GB.

• Embedding gallery in PDF only displaying first image?

Hi, I am embedding a web gallery made in Bridge as a PDF through Acrobat.
The gallery works fine when opening the index.html that Bridge creates with the resources file.
However when I embed everything as a PDF, the gallery opens and will only display the first image, yet it will still say "Image 1 of 6" for instance. All the other thumbnails and images are missing.
Here's how I've been embedding it as followed by a Lynda.com class. It has worked a few times before but has suddenly stopped working.
1. Create new pdf from file; select "gallery.swf" in the resources folder
2. Check "Show Advanced Options"
3. Under Launch Settings tab and in the Activation Settings change "Enable When:" to "The page containing the content is opened"
4. Under the resources tab click Add Directory... chose the "resources" folder
5. Under the SWF tab, copy and paste the FlashVars value from the index.html and change '+startImg to "-1"
baseRefUrl=resources/&groupxml=group.xml&stylexml=style.xml&localText=localText.xml&livePr eview=false&startImg='+startImg
6. Hit OK to create the PDF and save
Where am I going wrong and how do I fix this?

This doesn't sound wrong, or anything you can fix. Pages with interaction controlled by JavaScript do not carry the JavaScript into PDF, and simply take the current view.

• Image Gallery

Hi, i have a question about displaying images in a next and
previous order. i have a Repeater like so
<mx:Repeater id="photos" dataProvider="{photoData}">
<v:DisplayImage imageData="{photos.currentItem}"
click="displayDetails(event.currentTarget.getRepeaterItem())"
id="testImage"/>
</mx:VBox>
</mx:Repeater>
displaydetails displays the image. i want to have a next and
prev button to move to next or prev image within the details few
but i am unsure to do that.
what i do know is if i can have a click for next and prev to
a function called e.g showNext
then i can tell it to load the repeaters next image ( with a
+1) . check out this code
private function showNext():void
if (gallery.selected < gallery.photos.length - 1)
prevPhoto.img.source = ICON_LEFT;
gallery.selected = gallery.selected + 1;
carousel.rotateLeft();
if (gallery.selected >= gallery.photos.length - 1)
nextPhoto.img.source = ICON_RIGHT_DISABLED;
in this case selected photo is array. how can i do this with
a repeater

hi, thanks for your response. sorry i left that part of the
code out. the repeater is within a Tile tag. like this
<mx:Tile>
<mx:Repeater id="photos" dataProvider="{photoData}">
<v:DisplayImage imageData="{photos.currentItem}"
click="displayDetails(event.currentTarget.getRepeaterItem())"
id="testImage"/>
</mx:VBox>
</mx:Repeater>
</mx:Tile>
just incase if you were wondering how the DisplayImage
component looked like..here you go
<mx:Image xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
source="data/images/{imageData.filename}">
<mx:Script>

[Bindable]
public var imageData:Object;

</mx:Script>
</mx:Image>
the displayDetails functions is a follows
private function displayDetails(photoObj:Object):void
currentState = 'details';
selectedPhoto = new Object();
selectedPhoto = photoObj;
photoInState.load('data/images/'+selectedPhoto.filename);
so basically the show image changes the viewstate to the
details state. and this is where i want to have my next and
previous buttons.
i hope this help you more. thanks soo much. i really
appreciate the time.
