Turn off JSP syntax coloring in 12c

How do I turn off syntax coloring for *.jsp files.
JDeveloper CRASHES and CRASHES and CRASHES or HANGS or SOMETHING ELSE WRONG whenever I try to edit a JSP file.
I just want JDeveloper to handle the file like a POTF (Plain Old Text File) since it cannot correctly handle it as is.
Quite honestly, and I am not trying to disparage anyone, the JSP handling is HORRIBLE. I have to use Notepad++ to edit these files because JDeveloper just HANGS. Actually it cannot even crash. I say "Save all files and exit" in the panic dialog and it neither saves the files or exits.

JDeveloper version is 12.1.2.0.0
WIndows 7 64 bit w/16GB of memory.
MaxPermSize is set to 2048M.
I am happy to increase the amount of memory, but that doesn't appear to be an issue. :-)
I have SQLServer running locally but limited to 2GB of memory. And I am running a local Tomcat server with a 3GB perm memory.
And then I have all of the usual windows stuff running including corporate email (i.e. Outlook).
TIA. I just want it to work. :-)

  • 11g turn off JSP Compilation

How do I turn off JSP Compilation in jdeveloper 11g ?
I have set the params in weblogic.xml but jdeveloper seems to ignore it.
    <jsp-descriptor>
    <precompile>false</precompile>
    <precompile-continue>true</precompile-continue>
    </jsp-descriptor>
Also there was an option in 10g under Run Configurations to say "Run Project Despite Compiler Errors" how do I set this in 11g?
    thanks in advance
    Arun

Can't seem to find the JSP option.
Project Properties --> Compiler has 3 options "Options" "SQLJ" and "XML"
I checked the technologies and Scope, Servlets and JSP is slelected and i can see the runtime libraries in the libraries section.

  • Turning off apex syntax highlighting

I want to turn off the syntax highlighting/checking of apex. Is it possible ?
The reason is the response time of apex.
    Thanks in advance

I'm guessing here, but are you referring to the syntax highlighting when you do a search within a report that has been made using the "Application from Speadsheet" wizard?
If so, the text highlighting is set within the report, on the each row that is being searched.
Select the column in the report and look for "column formatting/highlight words".
Again, if the answer to the previous question is true, the slow response time may be due to the SQL produced by the wizard which, by default, searches EVERY Varchar column of the report using the instr function. Does your report have many rows and many varchar columns?
Let me know if this helps.

  • Finder extremely slow on a macbook pro, you can not turn off, and the color wheel appears to move any file

I have a MacBook Pro 2GHz i7 early 2011, 16GB RAM, a 128GB SSD and a 500GB standard. The OS is mountain lion and a month ago my finder is very slow, when moving a file appears the color wheel, also when you send a file to the trash. When you turn it on, the finder takes a long time to be active, the other apps work perfectly. When you turn it off stays white background with the spinning wheel, but never fails to go off. Heat much m'as than before and make lots of noise sinks. Sometimes also starts with the date changed to 2008, not always.
I tried to repair disk permissions, reset pvram even I formatted from a usb and the problem continues.
    Please help.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
A common cause of a slow user interface is a large set of image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons. If you have more than a dozen or so such files, move them to another folder.
Another possible cause is iCloud activity, especially Photo Stream synchronization. If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane and see whether there's an improvement.
Otherwise take the steps below when you notice the slowdown.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
    Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message. You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

  • Turn off the Printers color management function for the Pro-100

I've tried everything to get this printer to print realistic colors.  I had the Pro-9000 MK II and it was spot on.  I'm running Mac OS 10.9.1 and downloaded all the current drivers for the Pro-100.  The colors are way off.  I am using Print Studio Pro, Under color management I'm selecting the ICC profile for the paper being used, the printer profile was downloaded from Canon's web site and that's selected the same paper type.  Color matching is grayed out.
My monitor has been calibrated so I know that's not the issue.  Especially since the Pro-9000 was right on the mark.  Any suggestions???
    Thanks in advance.

I use the same setup as you and I print with, Print Studio Pro and LR4. My monitor is not calibrated. I only use Canon ink and Canon paper and the corresponding ICC profiles. My color output is exceptional. Black & white is good but not exceptional.
When I purchased this printer (a couple of months ago) I just followed the installation instructions and it worked great (for color prints) right out of the box. You may want to try a reinstall to see if that solves the issue. The Pro-100 is a very good printer.

  • All my prints using: Lightroom 5, printer color management turned off, and non-generic ICC profile (e.g. Epson Premium Glossy) have magenta tint or cast

I'm using PC with: Windows 8.1, 64bit, Lightroom 5.4, Epson R3000, 6.75 (latest) driver, color management turned off in printer settings, Lightroom configured to manage color.  If I use a generic ICC profile such as Epson sRGB, the prints look OK.  But when I use any ICC profile dedicated to my paper and printer combination, such as Epson Premium Glossy, or one created using ColorMunki print profile, the prints all have a medium to heavy magenta tint or cast.  The effect can be seen before I even print in the Epson Print Preview.  Yet when I soft proof, I don't see this effect.  I suspect the problem lies somewhere in the CMM process, but I can't pin it down.  Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you kindly for your insightful response.  As it turns out, the answer is half correct.  I've found others who'll say the same thing, that double color management will lead to a very magenta result.  I believe this was certainly the case when I first started playing with the settings,  Where I went wrong, is that after I corrected my settings by turning off printer manages color and letting Lightroom do the color management, is that the Epson Print Preview was still showing magenta with certain profiles.  Not wanting to waste more money on paper and ink, I used the preview to gauge whether I was going to get a normal print or not.  Then one day I ignored the print preview's magenta cast as a 'warning' and I went ahead printed the photo anyways.  Because I used a profile that I created with ColorMunki Photo, the picture came out perfect (i.e. a very good match to what I was seeing in Lightoom on my monitor).  The lesson learned is that for judging the final color correctness, the Epson Print Preview can be way off target and your best bet is to ignore it.

  • Turn off color management in printer driver?

    Hello folks:
When I select an icc color profile in Aperture 3 in the Print dialog box, a warning pops up that says "Turn off Color Management in the Printer Driver." I have an Epson R2880, but for the life of me I cannot find a way to turn it off in the driver. Any thoughts? The Epson Printer Utility is also of no help.
    Thank you!
    --David

Understanding that I have not actually used ColorJunki:
-- A printer is always going to have something manage color. Either an ICC profile at the application level, or the printer driver.
-- The warning is poorly worded. It means "Turn off the PRINTER color management and let Colorsync manage colors." Thus on the greyed out screen you will see that Colorsync is selected.
-- To use a printer profiler you normally print a target sheet. Your software should tell you what settings to use.
-- Next you read the target sheet and the profiler makes you an ICC profile of your printer/paper combination. (The same process that Canon, Epson, Red River, Illford, et al. follow.)
-- You can now use your new, ColorMunki created ICC profile to soft proof your image as you adjust it and, finally,
-- You use that same profile to print. (Remember, the profile is specific to a printer/paper combination and you will still have to set Quality/Media correctly for the paper.)
By selecting the correct ICC profile on the first print screen, you automatically kill printer color management and, with a bit of luck, a good profile, and clement atmospheric conditions, you will actually get a good print.
Trust me on this, I have been getting great prints from Aperture for years. My only gripe is that AP3 no longer lets me at the color options which I used to tweak for my cheap and cheerful Costco paper.

  • Problmes with wifi turn off with disable greyish in window 8.1 pro 9600

    Hi,
I updated window 8 to window 8.1 pro build 9600 version.
I am getting a problem with WIFI turn off disable grayish color which cannot be enabled.
WIFI adapter is installed and working properly.
Plz suggest what will be the fix of this issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Did you mean the Adapter is greyed out and we cannot click to turn on it? Is there a wifi switch on your laptop? If so, please turn on it first.
Also please try the network troubleshooter to see if the issue can be fixed:
    1) Right Click network icon in taskbar and select "open network and sharing center"
    2) Highlight wifi connection then at top click "Diagnose this connection"
The troubleshooter will discover that the WiFi connection is turned off and offer a "Apply fix" option click that and windows will enable the wifi connection.
To make sure the driver for Network adapter is the right one, please go to manufacturer’s website to see if there is the one compatible with Windows 8.1.
If not, we can try to install the one applied to Windows 8 in compatible mode to see what’s going on.
Since such issue can be caused by driver bug, please also contact the manufacturer to see if they can provide more information about this issue.

  • FAQ: UI - How can I change the color theme, size of the text, or turn off the application frame?

    CHANGING THE INTERFACE COLOR SCHEME:
The Photoshop CS6 default interface is dark, but if you prefer the lighter interface you are used to from earlier versions,
you can change it back in the appearance area. There are 4 default color themes.
Mac          Photoshop > Preferences > Interface
Windows   Edit > Preferences > Interface
    CONFIGURING LARGER FONTS:
For those who need larger fonts, you can also change the UI Font Size down in the type area.
Be sure to restart Photoshop to see the changes.
    TURNING OFF THE APPLICATION FRAME
CS6 opens now by default in "Application Frame". You can go Window>Application Frame in the main meu and uncheck this

Select the title / text and then click on the "i" (inspector). A colored pin wheel shows up after you click on the square box directly below the font settings inside the inspector window. Then simply drag the dot to the color you want. Like this:

  • Turning off color with eprint/airprint

I have a Laserjet Pro 300 color MFP. I no longer have an immediate need for the color capability. I do a lot of printing from my iPhone, and if the page I am on has color, the printer (of course) prints in color, wasting those very expensive color cartridges. Is there some way to completely disable the color function on this Printer, either through the printer app or at the printer? What if I just take out the color cartridges?

HI Ramon, After PRINT and in the Epsom R2400 dialogue box (layout page) there are only the following selections offered:
Color matching (nothing available to select)
    Paper Handling
    Paper Feed
    Cover Page
Printer Features (use for my selections but no ability to to turn off color management)
    Summary
In CS2 there was a color management Dialogue Box and I selected NO Color management and printed with confidence,
Am I missing something here? Do you use Match Print Colors?
Falling behind in my work and appreciate your time, Roy

  • Web Services spontaneous turning off on Color LaserJet CM4540 MFP

We are using ePrint on four seperate Color LaserJet CM4540 Multifunction printers in a business environment where we elected to activate ePrint in order to allow wireless printing for our iPhone and iPad users. We were able to set it up and get it working, and for the most part it works great! Users testing the functionality are using the HP ePrint for Home and Biz app and so far they've reported no loss of formatting for the documents they are printing - but there is one problem:
So far two of the printers have dropped (turned off) Web Services for no apparent reason.
Administrative functioning on the machines is password protected so it isn't possible for one of the clients to just come in and turn off Webservices. Only IT team members have the access password. I don't believe that any of us are turning off web services, so the impression is that they are spontaneously deactivating.
Two other bits of relevant information:
    1) I am able to easily re-activate web services and assign a new eprint email address to the printer...
    2)  I'm not able to reassign the first eprint email address to the printer because the HP ePrint website automatically places lost/disgarded email addresses on hold for 6 months to reduce the chance of people mistakenly sending documents to someone else's printer.
Therein lies the crux of the problem: because we are in a business user environment, every time I have to assign a new email address to the printer, I'm forced to update the documentation for the end users reflecting the addresses of the printers, and to inform the users who are already using the service of the new address.
I need to figure out a way to either 1) prevent the web service from shutting down, or 2) retain the same email address in the event that it does shut down, or both.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Sumiko, With pleasure
Frankly, i am not familier with the secondary DHCP structure of the device as i am more focused on consumer products, however the logic still remains the same... As long as DHCP can be maintaned, i cannot see any reason why the static IP will fail as the connectivity remain the same, therefore i would recommend you to disable the secondary DHCP in order to avoid any firewall blocks after forwarding the ports.
The port forwarding should be assigned from the router or the server, depanding on your network structure.
If you are using a more complex network envoirnment by using any server, VPN, switch, etc. you will need to contact your IT administrator to configure the port forwarding
However if you are using a simpler network , please let me know the router model, i will gladly try to assist you locating the steps for your envoirnment.

  • LaserJet Pro 200 Color M251nw : Wifi turned off but still broadcasting

    Hello there,
First of all, forgive my English.
I have a HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw, so it has wifi capability. Since the printer is plugged with an ethernet cable to my router, I don't feel the need to use the wifi embedded in the printer.
Thing is, when if I turn off the wifi on the printer, and even if I disable "wifi direct printing", I can still see the SSID of the printer on my home devices (HP-Print-a6-LaserJet 200 color).
I have looked on the forum and tried the "factory reset" by turning on, unplug both printer and wall socket, wait for 15 seconds... etc. It didn't work. I have also already installed the latest firmware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-)

    Hello revlib,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Turning off the Wireless Direct on the LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw should have disabled the SSID from broadcasting. Since disabling from the front display did not resolve, let us try from the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
To access the EWS you need to enter the I.P address for the M251nw into the address bar of your web browser. The I.P address can be collected by touching Setup ()> Reports> Network Summary.
Once in the EWS, click Network> Wireless Direct Setup> select Off and Apply.

  • HP Color Laserjet 3550 - the "attention" light won't turn off

I've tried everything I can think of for weeks but I can't get the "attention" light on my HP Color Laserjet 3550 to turn off.  It originally came on when a page on from the manual input tray got stuck maybe 20% of the way in.  It was a real easy fix,  I pulled the page out and now the "attention" light won't turn off.  So I can use the printer at all.  I've had this printer about a year. I purchased it used.  I've always had the manual feed tray as the default because I use this printer mostly for envelopes and less than 81/2 x11 printing as I have an old workhorse HP 4+ for all my straight 81/2 x 11 printing. I've rebooted. I've unhooked cables and the router.  I've opened up the printer and removed the casing (the plastic apparatus on the door)  and replaced it. The router is a 2Wire HomePortal 1800HG.  I'm just baffled here I've printed so much with the manual feed tray and I've had allot worse things happen that I've had to fix.  Now a simple stick like this and the light just wont' go off.

    HI Vern,

What is the exact cartridge number of both the black and the tri-color ink cartridge, as well as their product number?
I bought the printyer in the US and the cartridges also came from the US,  probably no the same state.  Cartdridge # 97,  black # 96.  I don't see a product number.  This is the same # that was in the printer before and the same one I always used.   As soon as I pull it out the light goes out,  and on again as soon as I install it.  This is before the printer even cycles through it's "new cartdridge" routine,  if you know what I mean.
