Turning off Compressor background processing

My iMac keeps hanging due to something with compressor or QMaster.. It just runs soooo slow. If I launch the Process Manager, it shows the CompressorProcess.. (something or other) in red and once I force quit it, everything runs fine.. until a little while later when it does it again. I don't need to use Compressor across a network or anything.. how can I disable it. I have everything turned off in the System Preferences / QMaster...

I did that but the music is still restarting not stopping.
Basically, Inside a layer I have this movie clip symbol that is
playing my mp3 song. All code responsible for stopping my music is
underneath a button and inside this layer with a movie clip symbol
( in first frame I called stop();) suprisingly when the presentaion
lasts 1 frame it's working but when is longer is restarting music.

Can I turn off the background task for HERE Drive+...

Hello,
I have installed on my new Lumia 1020 the application HERE Drive+ and I have noticed that it starts up a background task. Since I'm not using HERE Drive+ on a daily basis I think I could save some battery if I turn off this background task and it is started automatically only when I'm using Drive+ application. Can I do that?
I went to Settings->Applications->Background tasks and tried to block HERE Drive+. So far so good but when I tried to set to ON (checked) the option "Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it", HERE Drive+ application was automatically unblocked. Is this normal?
I want to know if I can stop the background task for HERE Drive+ and have it automatically started up when I open HERE Drive+ application.

It may be something I missunderstand. So if I go to Settings->Application->Background tasks and tap the button "Advanced" I see a list with many applications, and among them there is HERE Drive+. Above this list it is written "These apps can run in the background, and you may not be able to block all of them".
Does this just means that HERE Drive+ application is allowed to run in the background? Do I see in this window the list of all background tasks currently running or it is just a list with the application that could run in background?
Right now I don't have any application running. If I keep pressing on back button the app card list is empty.

Turn off transparent background for reading in Adobe Reader X 10.1

Up until yesterday, I did not see a transparent background for all things in Adobe Reader X 10.1. This makes for very annoying reading. How do I turn off the transparent background? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're talking about the transparency grid, check the following user preference: Edit > Preferences > Page Display > Page Content and Information > Show transparency grid

While syncing last time the computer turned off during the process and now when I try to get ont oitunes the phone is read only as a camera device and I cant sync my phone. I have tried re installing itunes and have turned every thing off and on. Help!!

If iTunes cannot see your iPhone.
First, try soft-resetting your iPhone. Press and hold sleep/wake and home button, ignore the slide bar - keep pressing.
When you see the Apple logon, let go. When the phone has restarted, plug into PC. Will iTunes see iPhone now?
If not, you'll have to do a DFU restore - please note that this will wipe everything on your iPhone. If you have a recent backup (iTunes does this by default), then you're in luck and you can restore everything back.
If not, then...hmm well... Oh bum. Maybe you have an iCloud backup? I haven't tried this so I can't comment.

Trying to Turn off Forms, Web Processes on an Apps Node

I've set the variables s_isWeb and s_isForms to "NO" in the context file, then run AutoConfig. Still, the adstrtal.sh script starts them up. Does anyone know how to get around this?

Yes, I checked adstrtal.sh, and it had been updated. The ones for Forms, Web, and jff* were old. I placed them in a subdirectory called "Save" and ran the adstrtal.sh script, yet it complained about them, saying it couldn't find them. Very strange.
I should mention that this is a newly created clone of an apps node on another system, which was running Forms and Web, but I should think if I turn them off in the context file and rerun AutoConfig, that it would have "amnesia."

How to turn OFF Reports Background Engine?

I know how to programatically invoke the RBE [win_api_shell.winexec('c:\orant6.0\bin\rwrbe60',WIN_API.SW_SHOWMINIMIZED);]
But the RBE stays out there after the report runs. Does anyone know a way to TERMINATE it programmatically?
Same question for the Oracle Graphics Background Engine.

How can I turn off the background "music" without turning off sound?

I find the background tune is annoying, especially when the sound of the video or you tube tape is playing softly. I didn't finish taking a one-session class because the sound interfered with the lecture. Is there a way to get rid of it? I know how to mute the sound so that there is none, but I want to hear the sound associated with whatever it is I am playing without this underneath----and sometimes on top!

Usually this means there is some media playing on a different tab. Unfortunately, Firefox doesn't have a built-in way to track down which tab it is.
I was not able to find an add-on to mute background tabs.
So... I think you might need to hunt down the source manually by checking all your tabs. Hopefully another volunteer will have an easier suggestion.

Background processes on SAP BW Production stall - kicked off via UC4

We have the following issue; there 6 background processes available on the BW server. The UC4 (external) scheduler kicked off 3 jobs that in turn was kicking off 3 process chains which were trying to kick off 10 background processes. The result was that 6 background processes were kicked off, seemed to be active (in sm37), but actually stalled (they were not doing anything), it was like they ended up in a deadlock. Normally one would expect the processes to run according to the mechanism that when there are no background processes available, to wait. My guess is that because they were initiated by an external scheduler and demanded more than the total available background processes that mechanism did not work. Has anyone encountered this problem before? And knows why it happens?

If I recall correctly I remember having seen this before as well, and then the root cause actually was the way the process chains work. There was (is?) some dependency on free batch processes in the initialization phase of the process chain which lead to hanging processes if you started a few process chains at the same time and there are not enough free batch processes available.
I believe this is internal to SAP so probably not caused by scheduling the chains externally, however your external scheduler could maybe take the number of free batch processes into account. I do not know your external scheduler well enough to explain it for that product, I do know how I would handle it with CPS: I'd use queueing to make sure that there are enough free batch processes available, or I would let it monitor the number of free batch processes on the system and if that would become too low, I'd temporarily hold new process chains that needed to start. The chosen option would depend on the priorities of the processes involved, to make sure that the processes with the highest priorities can always start and always have batch processes available.

Need Help in Scripting Turning Off JPEG Processing in ACR

Back in 2005 (Win PS CS) I wrote a javascript script which allows me to batch add captions, headlines, author, etc to JPEG image files. When CS3 came along I found I needed to turn off ACRs JPEG processing before I ran the script and on again after the script ran. I now need to do the same thing for PS CS4 and soon CS5. I have tried to create two (one off - another for on) actions to do that but they don't appear to work. Can this be done by an action? If it can done by an action can it be scripted?

Thanks Michael! I hoped you'd respond. The CS4 ACR JPEG support interface has changed from CS3, so that may be why you code doesn't work.
I don't think I copied the log file incorrectly, but I can try again. Can you please please explain your original script - I can't quite get it.
I also tried just using an action - Edit-->Preferences-->Camera Raw-->JPEG & Tiff Handling -->Disable JPEG support but that doesn't work. I wonder if I need to set both the JPRG and Tiff settings to make it work???

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

How to turn off SOA validation in JDev 11.1.1.5

Right now whenever I open a composite.xml file for a SOA project in JDev, it takes a long time because it's validating to make sure the endpoints are valid. I know they are not valid because the endpoints are not running.
I just want to see the source code, how do I turn off the validation process so it loads the xml file quicker?

Not sure off this disables the check, but try to set the default editor for the soa composite type to source.

This is a Two way replication (bi directional) between two oracle database , As we are planning to replicate data to/from A database . We need to have some kind of method to quickly turn-off the replication process defined. how to turn-off replication just incase of any emergency on A database AND also how long will it take to turn off?

if we stopped both source and target relicat process what will happen?shutting down replicat process mean database will not apply the changes which are capture by extract process on source target.
if you want like that you can also shutdown replicat process only leaving extract running and capturing the changes and putting in trail file.

How to turn off DataGrid header rollover?

I found a way to fix this but it seems like a kludge. In the
table's style:
headerColors: #D4DBE1,#D4DBE1;
useRollOver: false;
rollOverColor: #D4DBE1;
useRollOver:false works for the data rows, not the header.
Then setting rollOverColor will be ignored by the data rows, but
will turn off the rollover for the headers, as long as the color is
the same as the header colors.

Why does my iphone 3gs turn off then on after I installed IOS 6?

Hey, right now my battery is dead on my iphone 3gs. When i plug it in it shows the apple( to show that its turning on) then it turns off. It repeats this constantly until I get frustrated and unplug it. I tried to plug it into itunes, to restore it, on my macbook pro but it doesnt show, and it just reapeats the turning off then on process.
Someone PLEASE HELP!

Turning off App Music

Is there a way to turn off the background music in apps so that it doesn't turn off my music. I would much rather listen to my music or a book while playing a game than some horrible repetitive soundtrack.
