Someone told me that the best tutorials for a reasonable price are at www.lynda.com.
Do you agree?
I can't afford to go to an expensive class.

There are innumerable resources for however you please to learn. If you want tutorials, just google for what you want to learn to do like "how to crop in photoshop elements" and you'll get a million hits. There's online training at lynda.com, or there are online courses at eclecticacademy.com that are inexpensive and very popular. Those are more like real classes, where you have a teacher and classmates, whereas lynda.com is just learn at your own speed.
Elementsvillage.com is a popular forum. It's the forum for Photoshop Elements Techniques, the only magazine for PSE. They have many tutorials, although most are subscriber-only.
There are also a boatload of books--look for Photoshop Elements 8 mac at amazon, for example.
It's pretty much a question of how you prefer to learn.
Once again, despite trollish comments, any tutorial you find online about editing with PSE is equally applicable to either platform. If the presenter is using windows, you just subsitute the Command key for the Control key and the Option key for the Alt key. Tutorials on something like, say, Creating as slideshow (I'm afraid for PSE 8 mac the answer is basically "Don't bother'), or printing a picture package will need to be platform specific, but they're definitely out there, tons of 'em.

Hi all!
Can you recommend any good tutorials for using paths/vector art in Photoshop?
Honestly, I've had a good look for even one - without much success.
I Have lots of experience with paths/vector art in Illustrator, Fireworks and InDesign but I believe you really can do great things with them in Photoshop now for illustration work.
i'm just baffled by it. I can fill and stroke and edit a vector shape in PS - but if I custom DRAW a vector path or shape, things get confusing!
Hoping someone can point me in a helpful direction

I wouldn't claim to know everything there is to know, but I'm reasonably certain it hasn't changed.
Are the 'shapes' just vector masks with a raster element inside?
Yes. That's an accurate enough description.
And if you apply a colour to a path that you've drawn - does it rasterise?
It doesn't have to rasterize. If you see color, it's pixels.
I was definitely of the impression that a lot more could be done in PS these days that might formerly have been done in ILLUSTRATOR.
The shape/path tools in Photoshop have been enhanced and improved in recent years, but the product of their use still differs from Illustrator's true vector output.

I changed your mUp function to allow each movieclip to be placed on any target and to be reset to its original position if it is not on any target. I added the code for a button to position each movieclip to its correct target.

A dialog program consists of the following basic components:
Screens (dynpros)
Each dialog in an SAP system is controlled by dynpros. A dynpro (DYnamic PROgram) consists of a screen and its flow logic and controls exactly one dialog step. The flow logic determines which processing takes place before displaying the screen (PBO-Process Before Output) and after receiving the entries the user made on the screen (PAI-Process After Input).
The screen layout fixed in the Screen Painter determines the positions of input/output fields, text fields, and graphical elements such as radio buttons and checkboxes. In addition, the Menu Painter allows to store menus, icons, pushbuttons, and function keys in one or more GUI statuses. Dynpros and GUI statuses refer to the ABAP/4 program that control the sequence of the dynpros and GUI statuses at runtime.
ABAP/4 module pool
Each dynpro refers to exactly one ABAP/4 dialog program. Such a dialog program is also called a module pool, since it consists of interactive modules. The flow logic of a dynpro contains calls of modules from the corresponding module pool. Interactive modules called at the PBO event are used to prepare the screen template in accordance to the context, for example by setting field contents or by suppressing fields from the display that are not needed. Interactive modules called at the PAI event are used to check the user input and to trigger appropriate dialog steps, such as the update task.
All dynpros to be called from within one transaction refer to a common module pool. The dynpros of a module pool are numbered. By default, the system stores for each dynpro the dynpro to be displayed next. This dynpro sequence or chain can be linear as well as cyclic. From within a dynpro chain, you can even call another dynpro chain and, after processing it, return to the original chain.

Guided tutorials for PSE 9

Hello folks, I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find some good tutorials using elements 9?. Ive Ive gone through most of the basics I found on youtube (with varying amounts of success) and Ive found some extrodinary project guides but seemed to be a far different type of PS???

If you google "Photoshop Elements tutorial" with whatever you want to learn, you'll surely find it. Also, there are several websites devoted to PSE, depending on what you want to do. Photoshopelementsuser.com is pretty general, although some tutorials are subscriber only. There's also lynda.com and a number of more specialized sites for things like scrapbooking, etc.

This is most probably because the Periodicity input value has been configured as "Required" and no value has been input for it.
Please enter a value and try to re-run Quick Pay.

When I try to deploy a bpel process using JDeveloper I'm having the following xml parse error:

I am getting the following error, while running 'empps.jsp' ...when executing the tutorial given at

During installation , when prompted enter serial number and proceed with the installation .
If you had purchased upgrade serial number.
First enter Photoshop Elements 13 serial number .
Then it will ask for previous qualifying version serial number.
From the drop down list , select Photoshop Elements 12 and then enter Photoshop Elements 12 serial number

When I bootup the icon for Elements shows up in orange. It changes to green only when I've gone to Finder and clicked on Elelments under the Devices list. This is a recent development. The icon used to be green upon bootup. Does anyone know why ?

I'm sorry to hear that.
I'm not affiliated w/ the developer, just a happy user that gave up fighting the apple podcast app a while ago. I used to have a bunch of smart playlists in itunes for my podcasts, and come home every day and pathologically synced my phone as soon as I walked in the door, and again before I walked out the door in the morning.
Since my wife was doing this too, we were fighting over who's turn it was to sync their phone.
Since I've switched to Downcast, I no longer worry about syncing my phone to itunes at all. I can go weeks between syncs.
Setup a "playlist" in downcast (ex., "Commute") and add podcasts to that playlist. Add another playlist ("walk" or "workout") and add different podcasts to that one.
Set podcast priorities on a per-feed basis (ex., high priority for some daily news feeds, medium priority for some favorite podcasts, lower priority for other stuff). Downcast will play the things in the priority you specify, and within that priority, it will play in date order (oldest to newest).
Allegedly, it will also sync your play status to other devices, although that is not a feature I currently use and can't vouch for. It uses apple's iCloud APIs, so to some extent may be limited by what Apple's APIs can do.

How can I buy more storage for Elements?

Looking how to upgrade storage for my Photoshop Elements account. Every time I click on upgrade I'm taken to my products page and can't do anything from there as there are no active links to upgrade, buy more storage. I keep looping from the control panel for Elements to my account dashboard.

Gold standard plug ins or collections for elements 9?

One more quick question, t feel like I've already posted too many questions until I know enough to start contributing back to the community...
Looking to get some plug ins for ps/premiere elements 9...
A) Photoshop elements 9:
1 Anyone know of any GREAT comparisons/ buyers guides pitting similar plug ins against each other (maybe even like collections with each title compared)
1b) Any opinions on Current/Latest 'Gold Standard' tools (head and shoulders above similar titles - kinda industry/user consensous choise of BEST, beyond individual preference even?)
2) Are they any HDR plug ins that work with photoshop elements 9 - if so, is there 1 or 2 'Gold Standard' titles that are heads and shoulders above the rest
if not for elements are there any standalone programs for HDR?
2b) Right now (till I build budget back after buying software and plug ins) my camera doesn't shoot RAW, does HDR even work with jpeg sources?
Or does HDR even work with elements? Have to go to ps cs5 for that?
B) Premiere Elements 9:
1) Same as photoshop elements above, are there any 'Gold Standard' Plug in or stock content, ect collections way better than the rest?
2) What type of and which titles would be great bets to add to a beginners set of video editing tools?

The server encountered an internal error (OracleJSP error: oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseException: <br>Error: Validator com.sun.faces.taglib.jsf_core.CoreValidator reports:<br>org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The prefix "c" for element "c:set" is not bound.<br>) that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

Error in the explosion of "order report for element" in MD04

Hi gurus,
On the report MD04, I try to explode the "order report for element", where you can find the tree of the bom with the mrp results to cover the materials needs, but the following error occurs:
"Order 000001008418 possibly contains recursive BOM components
Message no. MF331
Diagnosis
The order contains component reservations that could have a higher low-level code than that of the order material.
To avoid an endless loop the requirement for this component is not included."
As one of you suggested, I tryed to install the Snote: 10000698, but the systeme tell me that there are no valid input to manage.
The error related is the follow:
"SAP Note does not contain valid correction instructions
Message no. SCWN002
Diagnosis
You tried to implement corrections that are contained in an SAP Note.
The corrections in this SAP Note are, however, not valid for the release and Support Package level of your system. This means that the error that is described in the SAP Note either did not occur in your system, or it has already been corrected by a Support Package.
In certain cases the error cannot be corrected by an SAP Note correction.
System Response
The system cannot implement the SAP Note.
Procedure
Follow the recommendations in the SAP Note text."
..now, what can I do?I can find No significative instruction on the note!!

Dear,
Error message MF331 'Order & possibly contains recursive BOM components' is generated in the order report.
If the header BOM material same you are using as a component then BOM become Recursive.
If you create a recursive BOM, you must decide whether you want to allow recursiveness or delete the component that caused the recursiveness,
Go to CS02 BOM of that material and check the sets recursive indicator.

Why no support for element factories?

The XML parser should support user supplied element factories.
That is, I should be able to instruct the parser to use my
class when creating elements and attributes it encounters.
Among other things, this would allow me to exclude certain
elements/attributes from the parse tree as it is being
constructed, rather than having to filter them in a subsequent
walk of the DOM tree.
Both the IBM and the Microsoft parser support this functionality.
Here, for example, is the Microsoft interface I can implement
in order to receive callbacks for element creation:
