Tuxedo Server booting problem

Hi All,
We have two node server setup.
for
Machine = ARS_A
SCSTART1
and
Machine = ARS_B
SCSTART2
If I start server SCSTART2 its staring in node A (Machine = ARS_A) not in B.
tmboot -g SCSTART2
Booting server processes ...
exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
on ARS_A -> process id=17912 ... Started.
exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
on ARS_A -> process id=17914 ... Started.
exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
on ARS_A -> process id=17915 ... Started.
exec SCStart -p 1,900:2,5 -o ../logs/arsServer.out -e ../logs/arsServer.stat -r config=SC_STARTUP :
on ARS_A -> process id=17916 ... Started.
4 processes started.
tlisten, BBL, DBBL everything is OK. I tried to shutdown and start also but again its starting from Node A.
Can you please help on this.
Regards,
Prasenjit

Hi Todd,
For your information, if I reboot complete application its not happening.
Its happend if some how some Tux servers booted from A node which suppose to boot in Node B.
I am not able to start those server form Node B.

  • G4 Mac Server Booting Problems (?)

    Computer: PowerMac G4 AGP PowerPC G4 400 MHz, 768 MB Ram, OS 9.04, Server software AppleShare IP 6.3.1.
    The server froze when I ran Retrospect mirror backup copying the server drive to an external Firewire drive.
    Now almost every time that I reboot, the server freezes with (at) an arrow mouse icon in the upper left screen. The server will fully reboot about once for every ten reboots.
    The computer will boot (randomly) from a boot CD with Norton Utilities. Norton says there are no problems.
    I ran Disk First Aid and I get a couple of error messages: "MountCheck found minor errors" and "Volume Bit Map needs minor repair".
    I ran Repair (Disk First Aid) and it said Problems Fixed.
    The problem is, the computer still freezes (randomly) when booting at the arrow mouse icon in the upper left screen.
    I have done all the usual fix routines (reset PRAM, rebuild desktop, reset CUDA, etc.); nothing helped.
    What is the problem??? How do I fix it? Thanks.
    PowerMac G4 AGP PowerPC G4 - SERVER   Mac OS 9.0.x   400 MHz, 768 MB Ram, OS 9.04, Server software AppleShare IP 6.3.1.

    So here's what I've done so far:
    I copied a backup System folder from June this year to the second hard drive on the server. I set the boot disk control panel to Drive2 and re-booted. Froze.
    I put a boot CD in the tray and re-booted while holding down the "C" key. The computer booted to Drive2 (what I had previously set it to). I did a re-boot to test (ejecting the CD) and the computer froze.
    I rebooted again this time hitting the keyboard's Return key and moving the mouse - reboot ok.
    Leaving the computer up (running the June System on Drive2) I tested some functions. The printer still does not work (connected to Apple Share IP print server). The server still does not show up in the Chooser of the users, but they can connect if they have an alias already set up.
    I noticed that the Extensions Manager freezes the computer when I click on it. And sometimes I'm getting an Open Transport error message.
    So..... We're looking at a SCSI problem or clock battery problem?

  • Tuxedo server machine naming in UBB file...

    Hi,
    I wanted to know a few things about providing the server machine name in the UBB. Let us say the name of the machine is "Augustus"
    When providing the machine name in the UBB file, is it mandatory that the name should be given in Capital letters?(i.e AUGUSTUS).
    Does the Tuxedo server boot if the name of the machine is containing a NON-alphanumeric characters like hyphen(-), underscore(_), dot(.), etc. Example: Some name like "Julius-Caeser"Please let me know your thoughts and inputs. Thanks
    Regards,
    Thyag

    Hi Amit,
    I don't know of a way to do that directly, although it would be relatively easy to write a trivial little program that subscribes the the system event that is published every time a server starts or is shutdown and then simply write that to the ULOG with the userlog() function.

  • Facing error while booting tuxedo server

    Hi All,
    When i try to boot the tuxedo server, it is being booted properly, But in the ulog, i found an error:
    Failure to post event: Error 6, TPENOENT - no entry found, {osserr=0}
    So, that particular tuxedo server is not responding fine.
    Kindly, help in solving this issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thankyou in advance
    Keerthika

    Hi Keerthika,
    You'll need to provide a little more information in order to determine what is happening. The error message I suspect is being caused by a subscription to the event broker that is to deliver the event to a specific service. At the time the event was posted via tppost(), the service that was subscribed was not available. Can you provide a snippet of your ULOG, what service your event broker subscription uses, and the output of the tmadmin command psc. Any additional information you can provide would be helpful.

  • How to parallel boot  tuxedo server in the same time ?

    Beacause I have more than 1000 tuxedo server, and it's take a long when startup

    Can I booted more than one server in ther same time in Tuxedo8.0 ?
    If yes, please advise to me how to do ?
    Thanks you for advises.

    try booting first admin servers with -A option then take multiple windows of

    Do you have the other ideas about faster boot Tuxedo processes?

    etc)
    that you need to boot first, last or in a spacific order.

  • A Tuxedo server hangs at tmboot with Tuxedo 12.1.3, but works fine with 10.0

    We have been running a Tuxedo server with pretty much the same logic in the sample code below in our systems for years on AIX (OS level 6100) with Tuxedo 10-32 bit. We are upgrading to Tuxedo 12.1.3 (12cr2) now. The code is compiled fine with Tuxedo 12, however, it just hangs at tmboot. We have tried on multiple servers (all AIX), but it hung on all the servers with tmboot. Is there anyone in the forum ran into the same problem?

    We have a tuxedo service which needs to communicate with a POS device by socket. The parent process provides the tuxedo service. The child process provides the connection management for the device. Unnamed pipe is used for communication between the parent and the child. In the child process, there is no code related to tuxedo. The benefit of that design is the tuxedo server does not need to wait for connection from the device when boots up, and the tuxedo service does not need to wait for connection from the device when the service is called.
    The tuxedo server was developed 10 years ago, and worked fine till we upgraded tuxedo from 10 to 12 recently. That means it worked for 10 years, and it worked in tuxedo 6.5, tuxedo 10. But in tuxedo 12, tmboot does not return for this tuxedo server. We have to press CTRL-C and yes to cancel. After cancel, the tuxedo service seems working fine.

  • Server boot takes a lot of time due to JMS persistence file store

    Hi,
    We're using WebLogic 9.2 on a windows machine.
    Recently, we enhanced our application to work with JMS.
    We're using 2 JMS servers on 2 different servers in a cluster, and working with distributed destinations.
    We're using file store as our persistence store.
    Lately, we found that server boot takes a lot of time due to actions which are performed on the file-store.
    Analyzing this problem, we saw that the file size is ~2GB.
    We understand that the file size does not shrink (unless manually compacted), and its size is matching the highest number ever of pending messages in the queues (like a high water-mark).
    We also turned store debug on, using weblogic.Debug.DebugStoreIOPhysical, and we saw a lot of recovery logs after the file-store is opened.
    We've checked and verified that our JMS transactions are completed successfully. We also verified that the number of pending and current messages is 0.
    We've stopped the server gracefully, verifying there are no pending messages.
    However, server boot repeatedly takes ~30 minutes due to heavy work done on the persistence store.
    Compacting or removing the file store eliminates the delay.
    However, we want to avoid manual operations every time we want to boot the server.
    Please share your ideas.
    Thanks,
    Itsik

    The only suggestions I have off the top of my head are:
    * Ensure (1) the host system has at least 2GB (file store size) of free physical memory in addition to the memory used by current processes, and (2) the host system is not rebooted between each WebLogic restart. If you make sure of these two items, then the operating system will implicitly cache the store's file contents in memory even between boots -- when WebLogic subsequently boots the file store, the O/S should serve the file contents up much more quickly.
    * Consider moving to a JDBC store. JDBC store runtime performance is lower, but since you have a typically only have a small amount of records to recover, boot performance should be higher in this case.
    * Not that it helps your particular case, but it happens that we have boot performance enhancements in process for a future release (hopefully a near future release).

    *Soundcard: Soundblaster Audigy
    OS: Windows XP home, service pack 2
    *Lite-on IT dvd-rom drive
    *floppy disk drive
    I also have 3 case fans spinning away in a marginally large Chieftec Dragon tower.
    The parts I marked with an asterisk (*) are parts that I removed from my old rig and re-used.
    I'll try to give a clear rundown of my problem and the steps I've taken so far.
    3 days ago I acquired the P45 Neo and installed it into my system, together with the 8800GT videocard. I was still using my old PSU, a Chieftec 360watt. This PSU served me well for 7 years, but it was starting to build up noise while trying to keep up games on my old rig.
    I had some trouble getting the system to boot, I tried changing some of the 4 pins wires going to the hard drive and the dvd drive. I don't know if it was luck or if I managed to divide the load properly for the system to boot. But I succeeded into booting up, got into the bios and eventually installed WinXP.
    As soon as it was time to install the videocard drivers, it stopped responding. I assumed it was a power issue, since I could only install the 20pin and 4pin cpu, but my Chieftec PSU didn't have a 24pin plug to the mobo - and it needed replacing anyway! So I bought a new 500watt PSU that had all the required plugs and more wattage.
    I installed the new PSU, checked every connection and pressed the power button. 'Lo and behold, the computer starts up. I install the videocard drivers and it proceeds with no problems. I try to install the soundcard, but the cd says I don't have one installed. I fix that by going to the System list and install the drivers from there. I install a firewall. By then I have successfully rebooted the computer 3 or 4 times. I decide all is well and turn off the computer. But I realize I wanted to check up something on the internet.
    I press the powerbutton. The PC power light go up for just a fraction of a second. I can see the blue LED of one of the case fans switching on just as briefly - then it goes out. The computer keeps trying to turn itself on. It looks like it's hickupping to try and boot!
    I turn off the PSU power on the back-side because the computer keeps trying and wait for a bit. After 10 minutes, it still doesn't work. I leave the computer for a bit and return an hour later. The computer then starts up with no problems. I turn it off after a few hours, do a reset, start it up, no problems. But then the next day it happens again.
    It's pretty tough figuring out what the problem is because it looks..almost random. I considered it could be a heat issue, but sometimes it *does* start up just after it's been turned down. Checking the bios shows no strange temperature shifts.
    Hope anyone can help me, because I do not want to go back to my old Asrock mobo

    While powered down I cleared the cmos data, removed the Dane Elec DDR2 module and set the bios to optimized defaults. Computer restarted to WinXP with no problems (it has been off the whole night). I shut down WinXP, wait a few moments and then turn the computer back on. Alas, it won't start and starts hick-upping. I turn power off at the PSU again, so it stops.
    Now I try switching out the Kingston module instead. By now the computer has been off for 10 min (while I write this entry on laptop). I press the power button on the PSU and then the power button on the front. There is a short pause, lasting a second. The computer turns on, longer now, but it only lasts 2 whole seconds before it turns off again and goes on again (I believe now you can call it powercycling). It repeats this process until I shut off the PSU.
    I check to see if I have installed it properly and try again but it starts powercycling again.
    15 min pass, I put the Kingston module back in, press the power button and voila, this time it does start. WinXP shows up, no problems. I leave it on for a bit and then shut down. And when I press the power button again - the feeling of dread returns, when it starts hickupping again.
    I'm going to see if I can install one of the memory modules from my housemate. Then hopefully tommorrow, I'm going to try if I can test a different PSU, since I see someone else on the forum - who recently posted, has the exact same power supply and also has boot problems, coincidence... or not ^^;.

  • Windows 2011 (2008 R2) Server boots to repair options

    Hi, I have looked at other threads but can't seem to solve my issue.
    So I have Server 2011 installed and really took care of my system.  I was installing updates, on any power loss I ran chkdsk every time, installed proper drivers and it was really running well, though it's a consumer based pc (Some ASUS Desktop PC).
    Last thing I did was install the Cannon MP160 driver so I could use scanning feature of the printer.  Default windows driver has no TWAIN driver built in.  The cannon website does not offer 2008 R2 driver, but instead only Windows 7 driver.
    I am pretty certain that I rebooted after install which I generally always do.
    However, there was a power loss.
    So I turn on the pc, ASUS logo goes away, there is a dark screen and pc reboots itself.  Then from ASUS logo (POST that is) it goes to 1.repair my pc, 2. boot normal.  I tried F8 with safe mode, same thing, computer just reboots.  I tried
    bootlogging and can't seem to find bootlog.txt with command prompt.
    So I tried this from command prompt;
    chkdsk d: (windows installation) /r - no problem
    rebuild bcd - can't find windows installation
    there is another command where it makes sure the drive is bootable volume, so it does something to volume registry entry,  The process goes through three edits and 2nd edit says the access is denied.  I think command ends in NT60 /All
    Then I tried Microsoft bootable ISO to uninstall 2 patches that could cause system to not boot - no success.
    So last thing I tried was to use Windows 7 boot cd, which will give an option to repair possible boot problems.  Can't resolve them - that's what the message says.
    Now, I am thinking well I really don't need Server running, I could just reinstall windows 7 and use that, since I really just use it as storage, but it would be nice to get the system back up and running the way it was.
    Well, I am open to any suggestions, maybe an in-place installation should be done, if possible?
    Thanks,

    Might ask them over here.

  • Script to send a mail alert whenever server boot

    hi,
    I need a shell or perl script to send a mail alert to user whenever server boot, restart and shutdown.because in my office power problem is there.So the server restarted intermediatly.Kindly any one give a script to rectify my problem.

    If the server isat all important and you have a power problem, do consider getting a UPS. It might recover OK most times from power cuts (especially if you're on ZFS), but if you get other power problems like brown-outs and spikes, you might one day regret leaving it connected to a bad mains feed. Choose a mainstream brand like APC to be sure of Solaris support. The line-interactive versions, e.g. SmartUPS will recondition the mains waveform as well as maintaining supply during a power cut.

  • "Error Getting Licence. License Server Communication Problem. E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_OPEN_ERROR

    After a fatal HDD crash and rebuild, my ADE was working fine but now it's not. I purchased a book from Google, it starts to download to ADE then I get the ADE message "Error Getting License. License Server Communication Problem. E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_OPEN_ERROR. Can anyone help? I've re-booted and re-authorized with no success. My wife is all over me to get this fixed so she can read the book. Thanks.
    FYI: ADE 4.0.3 Windows 7x64

    I was unable to download the book so I couldn't open it. However, I've been doing some experimenting and have finally got the book downloaded to ADE with some challenges. Here's what happened.
    Prior to my HDD crash my Digial Editions library was on C:drive. When I restored my lost data it put it back on the C:drive. I copied it with all my other data to the new My Document on  F:drive, pointed my existing My Documents to the F:drive.and re-installed ADE. It worked but VERY VERY slow loading. (4 minutes and not the only program to slow down. I checked drive share and everything should work well but it doesn't). Fine, I then pointed My Documents back to the C:drive and the original ADE library. Voila! It loads right away like it used to but now I get the open document error. This morning I redirected My Documents back to the F:drive which is where it was when I set up ADE. It again took many minutes to load but then allowed me to download the book.
    So I guess the real questions is this: How can I move my ADE 4.0.3 library from the F:drive back to the  C:drive without getting this kind of error? In absence of any better suggestion I'm going to uninstall ADE, point My Documents back to the C:drive which contains the original restored ADE library and re-install ADE. Do you think that makes sense?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Tuxedo client calls Tuxedo server using FML32

    I used a Tuxedo client calling a Tuxedo Server.
    Tuxedo server:
    It receives FML32 buffer and parse the info from ui_fml.h, e.g.
    #define     UI_SID     ((FLDID32)33852433)     /* number: 298001     type: long */
    #define     UI_NAME     ((FLDID32)33852434)     /* number: 298002     type: long */
    #define     UI_TEST     ((FLDID32)33852435)     /* number: 298003     type: long */
    In server code:
    void TEST(TPSVCINFO *rqst) {
    char line[200];
    long len = sizeof(line);
    FBFR32 bfr = (FBFR32) rqst->data;
    Fget32(bfr, UI_TEXT, 0, line, (FLDLEN32*)&len);
    printf("Fstrerror32(Ferror32)=[%s]\n", Fstrerror32(Ferror32);
    In Tuxedo client code:
    int main(int argc, char* argv[]) (
    char *sendbuf;
    if (tpinit((TPINIT *) NULL) == -1) {
              (void) fprintf(stderr, "tpcall2X:Tpinit failed\n");
              exit(1);
    if((sendbuf = (FBFR32 *) tpalloc("FML32", NULL, BUFLEN)) == (FBFR32*) NULL) {
              (void) fprintf(stderr,"Error allocating send buffer\n");
              tpterm();
              exit(1);
    len = Fsizeof32(sendbuf);
    if (-1 == Finit32(sendbuf, (FLDLEN32)len)) {
              tpfree((char*)sendbuf);
              exit(1);
    ret = tpcall("TEST", (char *)sendbuf, 0L, &rcvbuf, &rcvlen, 0);
    The server returns "Fstrerror32(Ferror32)=[LIBFML_CAT:2: ERROR: Buffer not fielded]", while the client works well.
    What are the reason? How to change that?
    Thanks.

    Hi Bill,
    Your problems are mostly in the client. You allocate sendbuf as an FML32 buffer, but then proceed to strcpy() into it which won't work. To manipulate the contents of an FML/FML32 buffer you must use the FML routines. So removing the strcpy(sendbuf, temp) in the client and replacing it with Fadd32(sendbuf, UI_TEXT, temp, sendlen) allows your application to work.
    By the way, in general you shouldn't need to be doing all the memset() calls you are doing. The extraneous stuff in buffers will be ignored, and certainly never memset() an FML32 buffer as it is not simply a bunch of bytes, but a complex dynamic structure that Tuxedo maintains.
    Finally on the server side, I couldn't get this line to compile as I indicated earlier:
    memset(out.out, 0, 4096);
    so I don't know how that is compiling for you, but the GCC compiler will not accept that, nor does it even make sense.

    PS Here is the exact code that worked on my system:

    #include <string.h>
    #include <stdio.h>

    #include <userlog.h>     /* TUXEDO Header File */

  • Sorry, but another boot problem

    I am sorry to ask this question but I have read all of the recent posts on boot problems and followed all instructions but I am still having a problem. It passes the POST then gives the Boot Failure, insert boot disk into drive A message. The only thing I have not done is install a new bios. I have only got one SATA HDD, one CD Writer and floppy.
    I have plugged the HD into SATA1 and the CD into IDE1, during the boot sequence it see the CD as Primary Master1 and the HDD as Third IDE Master.
    During the POST it passes memory test and can detect both the HDD and CD and floppy.
    I have set the HDD settings as follows:
    Native Mode
    ATA Config= S-ATA only
    S-ATA keep enabled = Yes
    P-ATA keep enabled = Yes
    P-ATA Channel Selection = Both
    Combined Mode = S-ATA 1st channel
    S-ATA ports definition = P0-1st/P1-2nd
    Also I have set the Boot sequence as follows:
    1st boot = CD
    2nd boot = HDD
    3rd boot = floppy
    I have built this PC only in the last few days and there is no operating system yet, it has the following specs:
    BIOS A6728IMS 3.5 020504
    865PE Neo2
    Pentium 4 2.40aGhz
    2 x 256 Kingston 400Mhz PC3200
    128MB Excalibur RADEON 9200 8xAGP
    Seagate 80Gb S-ATA HDD
    LiteOn 52x CD Writer
    PSU: 3.3v 28A, 5v 32A, 12v 16A (350W)
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks, its good to know that I seem to have set it up ok but when I try to boot from the cd (Windows Server 2003) it still says there is a boot failure please insert disk into drive A???
