TV @nywhere Satellite II DVB-S2 VIA VT6112L Chipset

Hi,
I have MSI TV @nywhere Satellite II DVB-S2 VIA VT6112L Chipset card.
It is working with 32-64 bit BDA driver XP to Windows 8 and I received both of Standard definition & High Definition channels without problem.
I would like to learn about how to setup high speed internet data from Satellite ISP, the card placed only sound, video & game controller at device manager, no driver at network controller.
Please help about how to setup network driver and which software I should use for it.

Have you tried the latest driver from >>Intel<<?

About how long can we expect to see the updated Via KT400A chipset in a MSI board?
Here is a link to KT400A article:

yeah, a new board is coming...a mobo with kt400a chipset!
a little bit better than the nforce2 boards!

  • 8X AGP Card (FX5700) on KM2M Combo Motherboard (VIA KM266 Chipset)?

I have got a MSI KM2M Combo with a VIA KM266 Chipset based motherboard [Model No: MS-6738 (v1.X) Micro ATX Mainboard].
What is the voltage of the AGP 2.0 slot in the above mentioned motherboard?
Can I run an 8X Agp card (Nvidea GeForce FX5700) without any problem?

This is not enough PSU for that VGA card

    Frontech 300 Watts SMPS (3.3V 14A; 5V 30A; 12V 12A)
Needs to have at least 25A @ 3.3V, and over 18A @ 12V to be on the safe side.
Otherwise, there should be no problems running that VGA card.

  • 8800GT and VIA 880 chipset = incompatible

As you might have heard, the new VIA 880 chipset is incompatible with the 8800GT.(all versions)
But there is hope as it is possible to downgrade the 8800GT so that it runs with this chipset, as you may read here:
    http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,34/func,view/id,47800/catid,13/limit,10/limitstart,0/
Now, I need to flash my VGA, so that I can use it in GEN1-Mode.
Several companies have handed out the necessary *.rom file that allows you to flash your VGA.
    (EVGA, Sparkle, Gigabyte etc.)
Unfortunately, the MSI Support I contacted is incapable of doing a short research and provide me the necessary resources...
"Thank you for your support. This card is PCI-E 2.0 version, if your motherbaoard is PCI-E 1.0 version, you can also use it on this motherbaord, but it maybe run at a lower performance."

Since the MSI 8800GT is just standard design you could just use the .rom of a standard GT of a different manufacturer. If you have a oc model it would then run with standard GT clockrates (...unless you're using the bios of a oc model of a different manufaturer).
Of course this would be at your own risk but also the solution.
Another solution would be getting rid of that ASrock board
By the way it is not the via chipset itself that is incompatible. The problem is it's limitation of pcie lanes. As it provides just an X4 PCIe-graphics slot that's a problem for the pcie 2.0 card. That's what MSI support seems to have not understand from your question. You don't have a regular PCIE 1.0 slot and that's why support's answer doesn't help you.

  • Any experience with USB 2.0 upgrade with VIA VT6202 chipset?

    Hello,
I'd like to know, if anybody suceeded with upgrading his PowerMac with USB 2.0 PCI card, which has VIA VT6202 chipset?
I found some of them very cheap and in one e-shop there was a tiny notice about supporting OS saying - MacOS X supported! These cards are sold under different names but all of them have same "L" shape, 1 port inside and 4 outside and there is VIA VT6202 sign on the chip .
    Btw I have Quicksilver 2002, 800MHz
    Thank you for your answers.
    Honza

Well, I've found some notices about cards with VIA chipsets and they aren't very good - NEC seems to be more reliable.
So again, does anybody have any experience with USB 2.0 PCI cards with NEC chipset?
    Thanks

  • Little troubles with DVB-S2 via MPlayer

    Hi,
I use the MPlayer already for quite a while to stream DVB-S and DVB-S2 with it. But for approximately two weeks something changed while watching HD-channels: the video track lags every few seconds; the audio track is quiet normal. However, the non-HD channels hide the problem.
E.g. while watching a German HD-channel, I find following terminal outputs:
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]mmco: unref short failure
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]reference picture missing during reorder
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]Missing reference picture
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]Increasing reorder buffer to 2
    h264 @ 0xf2b820]Increasing reorder buffer to 3
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]Increasing reorder buffer to 4
[mpegts @ 0xeb3080]PES packet size mismatch
**** Your system is too SLOW to play this! ****
Specially this message I can't understand, because I'm using a CPU AMD Phenom II X4 955 3,2 GHz, 8 GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM and the graphic card ASUS GTX 460 Top GDDR5 PCIe 1024 MB. But, let's continue with the outputs:
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]concealing 880 DC, 880 AC, 880 MV errors
    [h264 @ 0xf2b820]mmco: unref short failure
[h264 @ 0xf2b820]number of reference frames (0+6) exceeds max (5; probably corrupt input), discarding one
[h264 @ 0xf2b820]illegal short term buffer state detected
Furthermore I'm using two HHD WD20EARS, which are connected to RAID1 via 3ware 9650SE-2LP, and the DVB hardware decoder card Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2. My desktop environment is KDE SC 4.8.
    For starting the DVB-S2 streaming I use szap-s2 -r -p -S 1 -c ~/.mplayer/hdchannels.conf "NAME-OF-THE-HD-CHANNEL" in one terminal and mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 -demuxer lavf -cache 8192 in a second terminal.
I just mention all this stuff because I've absolutly no idea, what could be the reason. Before this troubles started, two weeks ago, everything worked flawlessly. Checking the /etc/log/pacman.log I can find out, that the Linux kernel was upgraded from 3.2.6-2 to 3.2.7-1 on 24th February. I'm not sure, but maybe since that time these failures appears. Presently I'm using Linux 3.2.8-1.
Has anyone an idea what might just be the cause? (Perhaps it could be a option to try the LTS-kernel?)

So, today I just made some small tests. First of all I tried to start a HD-channel with WinTV7 on Windows 7: The channel was streamed correctly for almost one minute and than it was lost - and I had no possibilty to get it back.
After that I tried again to start the same HD-channel on Linux. I apologize in advance to the large amount of text but following is the terminal output of the first minute (finally canceled by STRG + C):

**** Your system is too SLOW to play this! ****
    Possible reasons, problems, workarounds:
    - Most common: broken/buggy _audio_ driver
    - Try -ao sdl or use the OSS emulation of ALSA.
    - Experiment with different values for -autosync, 30 is a good start.
    - Slow video output
    - Try a different -vo driver (-vo help for a list) or try -framedrop!
    - Slow CPU
    - Don't try to play a big DVD/DivX on a slow CPU! Try some of the lavdopts,
    e.g. -vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all.
    - Broken file
    - Try various combinations of -nobps -ni -forceidx -mc 0.
    - Slow media (NFS/SMB mounts, DVD, VCD etc)
    - Try -cache 8192.
    - Are you using -cache to play a non-interleaved AVI file?
    - Try -nocache.

  • TV @nywhere Satellite II PCI Card - low profile bracket?

    Hi,
I have a low profile Antec Minuet case which only takes low profile bracket cards.
Can I make the TV@nywhere PCI Satellite II card fit in my case? It looks small enough....
Does it come with dual size brackets or will I be able to adjust the bracket to fit?
Please help - I really need to get Satellite into my case but cant find any Low Profile cards...
Also, can someone confirm if TV@nywhere PCI Satellite - the original version - allow me to receive HD satellite channels? Not too fussed about recording - just want to view HD Satellite? This card is easier to obtain in the UK - the new II version is harder to get hold of.
    Thanks!

    Hi Bas,
    thanks for your answer.
DVB-dream is a software to view tv on your PC. I want to watch blueray, radio, tv, watch pictures,... -> HTPC.
For this MCE is a nice standard software. I thing the problem is not MCE but MSI! After the message "... no signal.." the MSI software have to be start under admin rights to work. For me this is a hint to a bug in the msi driver.

  • No sound on LCD TV when Satellite A200 is connected via HDMI

The problen is: I connect notebook (A200) to LCD TV (Philips) by HDMI. The video is OK, but sound stay on notebook not in LCD TV.
May be the problem is HDMI 1.2 does not support sound and video together? Only 1.3?
    Sorry for my English

Sound should work with every HDMI cable as far as I know. Have two of them, one with HDMI 1.3 and another one, which I don't even know, but I guess not the 1.3 standard, as it was pretty cheap.
To enable sound via HDMI you will have to go to control panel - sound. There select the digial output device as standard. Make sure you have closed the media player or any program which has sound output before. Then start player again and sound should now be heard through TV.

  • How to install SATA on VIA K8M890 chipset board

    Hi,
When trying to install winxp - the installation doesn't recognize my sata hd.
I didn't receive any diskette with my compute.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Gidon.

Is the Hitachi drive a SataI or SataII.
    Here is the Info MSI gave;
    On-Board SATA
    • Two SATA ports by VIA® VT8237A
    - Supports storage and data transfers at up to 150MB/s
    - Supports RAID 0, 1 and RAID 0+1
    MSI Reminds You...
    • The RAID setup floppy disk is optional depending on the districts. You can download the files from the website to make the setup disk.
So according to that the SATA Controller is a SataI and your drive must be set to that via the jumpers if it is a SATAII. The only thing you should need the floppy for is RAID. The Floppy is optional so it looks like it does not come in the box.

  • Anybody using a Via KT880 chipset?

I'm looking to build my girlfriend a cheap Socket A system (I already have lots of spare DDR memory and Athlon XP CPUs) and was looking at a Via KT880 motherboard. Does anyone have experience with this sort of board? Pros & Cons?

    Just an update:
I've been using this chipset now for a few weeks and have to say that it's much better IMHO than nForce2 in terms of linux support. The newer kernels have great support for even the gigabit ethernet connectivity and sound. The snd-via82xx module seems much more feature complete than the snd-intel8x0 you're forced to use with nForce2 if you want ALSA. The Via module also seems to support hardware accelerated mixing on this platform where the intel8x0 driver didn't support hardware mixing (because nVidia would not cooperate with technical details) at all.
So, I have considered this an upgrade.

  • Via Hyperion chipset drivers for K&t266 Pro2 MS 6380

    hi all
Having recently re installed XP to new hard drive thought I should update the VIA chipset drivers so have installed 4in1 Hyperion 451v.
Am having some lock up problems transfering files from 1 hard drive to another on the same IDE channel.
Power supply problem identified and new Antec on the way.
Looking for some opions guidance around standard XP drivers vs Via and as this is quite old board should I be using retro Via drivers for stability.
    Views, thoughts experience appreciated.

Some kt266 chipsets requires the VIA latency patch.
Fixes file transfer issues, corruption and stability issues.
Improves PCI bus transfer rates and crackling sound issues.
you might want to look into this.
