TVcard issue - no sound, LifeView FlyDVB Trio

i have problems with this tvcard, i tried analogTV with tvtime and FMradio with gnomeradio, and it seems the card is working, in tvtime i get video, gnomeradio tune some station, but i don't have sound.
i tried things from these wiki pages:
http://linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.php/Saa7134-alsa
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_saa7134
i think the problem can be in driver autodetection (looks all is ok) or in alsa
edit: i turn on all module debug options:
modprobe saa7134 card=84 tuner=54 alsa=1 video-debug=1 audio-debug=1 vbi-debug=1 ts-debug=1 core-debug=1 irq-debug=1 i2c-debug=1

there are NO_DEVICE errors, but i look on card and there are two 8275a chips, then i think card=84 and tuner=54 is ok, now i really don't know what to do :evil:

Some times the video card drivers and software replace certain aspects of the sound drivers because the card needs to use the dll's that the sound cards utilize as well.
I had problems with my audigy 2 zs and an ati x850xt vid card
I had to unistall both items, put the video card in first, then the sound card and let the sound card overwrite or replace whatever the video card set up first.
Man that was a pain in the neck to figure out.
Also I am not sure that this is still an issue with PCIx but atleast with AGP cards the placement of the sound card was crucial as well in the mobo.
Certain slots shared the same irq paths
I had to put the video card in the agp slot but I had to skip down to pci slots for the sound.
Might try that just to see if it will help

  • Issue with Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit driver

    ,Issue with Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit driverw Hello, I have a 2004 Dell Dimension DIM900 and a couple months ago it began making a loud crackling noise sporadically. It sounds like real ear-piercing static, like when a microphone is being plugged in, only in short random bursts at alternating pitches so I originally thought my speakers were blown. I turned them off and decided to use a headphone set only to hear the same annoying sound.
    I looked in the sound settings and read that I have a Sound Blaster 24-bit internal driver in my system, assuming that information is correct.
    What can I do? I did the search and read the read on those X-Fi drivers that had a similar problem, but I didn't know if that was the same as this because the thread concluded that their problem was exclusi've to systems with Nvidia dual SLI graphic configurations and X-Fi drivers. ? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

    Hi IT5,
    May I know if this Li've! 24bit came pre-installed on your Dell computer or did you purchase & install the sound card separately?

  • PowerMac G5 weird sound issue: no sound online, otherwise fine

    This is a very weird issue. Sound works fine on DVDs and audio/video files. But online, there's no sound. I've tried both FireFox and Safari, and tried reinstalling them, but no luck. Advice?

    Hi Ronald, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    First, Open Audio Midi App in Utilities & see if it's set to 44.1KHz, & the Audio Output setting.

  • SD Card Issues and Sound Issues

    Hello all,
    I bought my Xperia Z2 probably 2-3 months ago and I have to say I do love this phone.
    However I have come across a few issues that seems to be, not so common as I cannot find any solutions online (Which is why I'm here).
    I am having 2 issues:
    1st Issue:
    SD Card Issue, this is a funny one as I have not been able to identify what actually causes this issue. Now this all started (or when I started to realise the issue) when I changed some settings in the Camera App. I saw that it was saving photos to "Internal Storage" and since I specifically bought a new SD card for the Xperia Z2, I wanted to store photos on the SD card instead.
    So I changed it to SD Card Storage and all is well (At least, that is what I thought).
    After taking some photos one day, I got home and wanted to preview them, in the photos app and Album (Sony's Photo Previewer) it shows that the photo is corrupted or missing (Depending on which app I'm using). This really annoyed me as the photos I took seems to be all lost and corrupted. So I tried to use a file explorer (Including File Commander) to find the actual file and open it, but it seems to have the same problem. I get this grey background with a picture of a mountain with like a thunderbolt sign (Broken sign).
    Following this, I have also tried to copy some video files onto the SD card and it has been giving me troubles too. I tried to copy videos onto the SD card in 2 ways, first way is to take the SD card out, connect it to a SD card reader and plug that into the computer. After it finished copying onto the SD card, the files would just disappear (I use computers a lot and this was very surprising and new to me... It's like the SD card deleted the files right after it was copied, or maybe even 'hid' the files).
    So since that method didn't work I thought I would try putting the SD card back into the phone and connect the phone to the computer then use Sony's MediaGO (Computer App) to transfer the videos and it sort of worked this time. I copied 14 videos over and only the first 2 videos are working, the others are all "Media is missing" or of some sort. I checked the video's format and they are all either .avi or .mp4 which I don't think is a problem as the first 2 videos are in .avi so surely other .avi videos would work too? Guess not...
    So it seems like I am having troubles with Video and Photos on the SD card as music is working 100% fine. Used Media GO to copy the music on and it's all working wonderfully.
    Some of you might suggest formatting the SD Card, I will say I have... I have tried the above methods before formatting AND after formatting (Formatting using Xperia Z2, or shall I say "erase").
    The SD card I have is Sandisk's 64GB Ultra (I bought this to anticipate 4K or at least 1080p video recordings).
    If the issue here is SD Card compatibility and I was silly enough to not have seen that prior, then I would gladly admit it's my fault and be happy that the solution would simply mean to buy another SD card.
    But that said, I highly doubt that would be the issue due to the fact that the SD card is made for performance (Not the best performance as the Extreme and Extreme Pro range are a lot better) and the card is new.
    2nd Issue:
    Now this issue is not as bad as the first issue, it's something to do with the sound. I understand the phone has 3 sound controls, one for the Ringtone for when you get a notification or/and phone call, one for Media and one for Alarm.
    What I do is I have the Ringtone volume sitting at around 50% and Media will be dependent as I change it when I open an app but the issue I've been having is this:
    If I open an app (Mainly games that has sound/music) and I change the Media volume to say 70% or even 20%, whenever I get a notification whilst in-app the notification volume seems to be at 100% no matter what I do with the media volume. This is weird as my default Ringtone/Notification volume is sitting very low at around 50% or even if I change it to 20%.
    What am I missing here? Any thoughts?
    With the above 2 issues, last resort would be to factory reset my phone but will be willing to do it if there's a high chance of the issue getting fixed.
    Your thoughts will be greatly received as right now I'm just lost and not sure what to do with the issues. I'm slowly getting the feeling that I should just give up on the phone and use it for phone calls, music and forget about the whole photo/video taking which is very sad as I love the phone's photo/video taking features.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Rickard,
    Thank you for the link, I have started the test and 10 minutes into the test the speed for writing dropped. Anyways I only managed to get through in writing 8GB of data then I gave up. I then started to verify that 8GB of data that was written on the SD Card.
    I have to say, it does seem like that SD Card is defective
    Thank you for providing the link, what I will do now is get another SD Card and see if the problem is still there.
    If the problem goes away I would consider my 1st issue being solved
    However I am still not sure about my 2nd issue as this is not related to the SD card. Even without the SD card in the phone I seem to be experiencing this problem.
    It's frustrating sometimes as if I'm trying to keep the volume down and play a game I can't because any notifications that comes through will be at 100% volume.
    Perhaps there's a setting I'm missing?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  • MacBook Pro mid-2014 Intermittent issue with sound

    This occurs in an intermittent fashion : I cannot adjust volume neither with the slider at the top of the screen, nor with the volume buttons of my keyboard. In fact, there is no way I can adjust the sound. I get this image (bottom) when I try to adjust the sound using the keyboard and the slider in the top menu is maxed and greyed out.
    Context:
    I bought this MacBook Pro last week, as a replacement for my mid-2009 MacBook Pro. I restored a Time Machine backup.
    The new computer came with Yosemite and the old one had Mavericks installed last time I made a backup, therefore the new computer was downgraded to Mavericks when I did the restore. After the Time Machine restoration was completed on the new computer, I (re)installed Yosemite.
    I just brought the computer to the Apple Store; the diagnosis tools were run and no hardware problems were found. As I said this is an intermittent problem, so sometimes I restart the machine and it works normally, other times the problem occurs. (1 out of 3 reboots, i'd say...)
    What do you think ? Hardware problem ? Software issue due to Mavericks being restored on top of Yosemite ?
    Any others have got the same issue ?
    Thanks folks,
    Emile

  • Wierd issue with Sound Blaster Z and Windows 8.1

    I have just started having an issue with my sound card. For the past year it has been working perfectly fine with no issues. There have been no recent changes to the computer, but within the past week, if I am in the middle of a game or listening to music, the computer will once a day lock up, I then have to restart the computer. After it restarts, the right speakers, and only the right will not work, Center, Subwoofer, and Left side speakers work 5.0. I then go the Sound Blaster Z-series control panel and re-enable the surround sound. At this point the Center and Subwoofer cease to work, but the right side works perfectly fine. After a couple of resets the center and subwoofer still do not work. I then have to go to the back of the computer and change the cable for the center / subwoofer from left most to the second left most (as looking at the back of computer from the top side). It will work fine this way with all speakers working, for roughly a day then it will lock up again. I have to go through the same process, but move the cable from the second left most to the left most output for it to work again. I tried for the past two days to troubleshoot by removing all the software and creative drivers. Same issue after reinstalling with a fresh driver set. Any help, because this is completely annoying.

    Considering that there is already a ca0132 driver for linux, which was made to support chromebook pixel laptop. It should not be hard for creative to make that driver compatible with discrete cards and motherboards that make use of that chip. But Creative seriously dropped the ball on users and does not care about them. I do not understand this, because all previous creative cards are supported in linux. Steam OS and steam boxes are around the corner and Creative is missing a big opportunity.

  • Is anyone having issues with sound after upgrading RAM?

    I recently bought a 2009 Mac Mini with 1GB of RAM. Everything was working fine so I decided to upgrade the RAM to make running more apps a little smoother.
    I took it to KRCS (an Apple Premium Reseller) and they put in another 1GB stick. I took the MM home and booted it up but no chime. I loaded iTunes and songs wouldn't play. I couldn't even turn the volume up or down.
    After taking it back to KRCS they verified all the connections were ok and everything was seated correctly, however the sound still wont work. They ran some hardware diagnostics and they said that it is showing that there is a sound devicde present but it isn't showing any input or output devices once booted in to OS X.
    Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? Could it be a firmware issue do you think?
    Cheers,
    James

    Morning peeps
    As mentioned I booked my Mac Mini in with an Apple Genius to see if they could shed any light on the problem. So I saw a very helpful guy called James (go figure 8-)) who looked first of all looked to see if there were any reported problems by Apple. He also had a look around the net to see if there were any suggestions but unfortunately this all proved to be fruitless. He then tried booting from a clean drive to see if it was a software issue but this again failed, leaving him a little stumped.
    Finally after a few minutes of looking at verious hardware information he decided to look at the RAM as the Mac was reporting the new 1GB stick I had installed was from a different manufacturer. Again no luck and at this point I knew what was comming...
    "It doesn't look like I will be able to fix the problem today."
    After all his efforts he couldn't seem to solve the issue so the next stange involves replacing some of the hardware. He showed me that he had gone ahead and ordered a new sound board, the ribbin that connects it to the main board and something else which escapes me at the moment, all of which is covered under the waranty.
    So after all that the issue still remains. My Mac Mini is at the Apple Store at the moment and is awaiting the new parts to be installed. James was confident that it could be fixed with these new parts, however he did say that if it couldn't be fixed then Apple would replace it with a new one. He also mentioned that they would try and get the RAM upgrade working once the new hardware was fitted, but if that is unsuccessful he is going to give me the RAM back to get a refund at KRCS.
    I think I have covered everything there - sorry if I started to ramble a bit
    If you need any more information then I would be more than happy to help.
    Cheers,
    James

  • Issues with Sound Clip.getMicrosecondPosition in Mac OS X

    Hi All
    I am trying to implement sound player in Java as following.
    public void play() throws Exception
            AudioInputStream stream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream( new FileInputStream(new File(m_path)));
            AudioFormat format = stream.getFormat();
            DataLine.Info info = new DataLine.Info( Clip.class, stream.getFormat(), ((int)stream.getFrameLength()*format.getFrameSize()));
            soundClip = (Clip) AudioSystem.getLine(info);
            soundClip.open(stream);
            soundClip.addLineListener(new LineListener() {
                public void update(LineEvent event) {
                    if (event.getType() == LineEvent.Type.STOP)
                        System.out.println("playcomplete event: " + soundClip.getMicrosecondPosition());
                   soundClip.start();
        }'soundClip' is instance of javax.sound.sampled.Clip.
    After completion of play LineEvent.Type.STOP event is fired.
    Method call soundClip.getMicrosecondPosition() displays the proper values in windows but in Mac OSX it always prints 0.
    Did any face the similar issue?
    Do we have any other approach to know whether the sound play is finished?
    Please help me out
    Thanks in advance
    -Surendhar

    MacOS is notoriously bad for support for JavaSound as Apple (1) rolls their own JVM (2) doesn't like for things to compete with their products, AKA QuickTime...
    Your best bet would be to handle the playing yourself at the Mixer level, and then you'll know you're done playing when you're done writing (plus whatever time it takes to finish playing the buffer, which you can just code a static delay for if you'd like)

  • Weird issue with sound control?

    I am not sure what is going on with my audio controls. I use MSI to control my audio (it's connected to the motherboard). The strange thing is, a crack appears on the "Reset EQ Setting" button.
    See link: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30673857&l=2041bbbec3&id=1458901123
    That wasn't there when I first got the computer. Is there any way I could reinstall this? What could have caused the "crack" to appear? Has this happened to someone else?
    I have also noticed that sometimes when I am playing music, the sound wavers, as if I am adjusting the volume slowly up and down by 1 degree. Is this an issue with my motherboard or WMP? Please answer both questions.

    I cannot find the MS-XXXX anywhere!
    Please read this thread:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=113146.0
    If you can't find the model number, please look at the BIOS P.O.S.T. Status Screen and write down the full BIOS ID String as it appears in the following example picture:
    Example (taken from the second picture): A7375NMS V2.2
    The BIOS ID String will tell us a lot about the System.  In the above example, the following information can be decoded from the ID String:
    A...AMI BIOS Implementation
    7375 ... Model Number (=MS-7375)
    N... NVIDIA Chipset Board
    MS... MS Standard BIOS Release
    V2.2 ... BIOS Version 2.2

  • Having issues with sound on my iphone 4s.

    I've double checked settings and the silent switch but still don't have sound for music, apps, alert tones, lock tone etc.  Everything works fine when headphones are plugged in, but with out them the volume buttons don't work.  I'll push the volume button and the sound icon appears but doesn't have any bars to indicate sound volume.  The sound will work for a very short period of time then stop.  When i'm in Pandora or music there isn't an option to adjust the sound, it says no volume available.  To add to my confusion it seems that the sound works just fine if I"m receiving a call, but not for texting or alert tones???!!!  And suggestions to help fix this issue would be much appreciated!

    Same here, I get no sound from videos, text messages. This happens for a while, then it works again then it doesn't work. When I go to settings, my "change with buttons" is on but buttons don't work. I have restored it but there is no change. Here is a picture of my screen when i try to change volume.

  • Software issue with sound

    I have a Macbook 5,2 Mid 2009 model. Usually between reboots certain parts of the operating system such as Cmd + Shift + 3, and various other apps will lose sound. The only way to get the sound back is to reboot the Mac, or to receiving an incoming facetime call. This is not a hardware issue as all other sound works just fine, including iTunes. I am thinking this is a software conflict between Mountain Lion and this particular Macbook model version. I have logged into other users and still had the problem so it has to be a OS conflict. Anyone else having this problem?

    I will do it if it will fix the problem but I do not want to mess anything else up which is what I am afraid will happen if I do it, or if I re-install the OS when its not the problem. All I can tell you is that sound works just fine on the Mac despite Cmd+ shift + 3 and some other apps, but iTunes and the web browser works.
    What wakes the sound is a incoming facetime call. Why would that be?

  • Iphone 4 hardware issue (No sound on receiver)

    Hi there,
    I'm from Malaysia and I just bought an Iphone 4 2 days ago from Singapore. I just started using it today actually, and came to find out that there is no sound coming from the receiver. Its the same issue for incoming and outgoing calls. I can only hear the sound if I turn the loudspeaker icon on. I've looked through the troubleshoot for this issue, and still I can't seem to solve it. If the phone has a manufacturing issue, is it possible to get a replacement with Apple Malaysia?

    Warranty service is only provided in the country of purchase, so if you have a phone that needs repair, you'll have to have someone in Singapore bring or send it into Apple for you.
    Visit Apple's website (www.apple.com/iphone) for more warranty details.

  • Not a question -version 7 has issues with sound.  Period.   Admit it and put out a fix

    There are known issues with version 7 and sound issues on the Iphone.  Apple - please fix it.

    I'm of the older generation and even posting these messages are foreign to me... however i have read several posts of this very same issue after upgrading.   The phone rings but no other alerts sound.  It will repair itself after reset but that is short lived.  This affects ITunes as well.

    How can I solved these issues?
    Please could describe the process to apply step by step? I
    really appreciate...
    Thank you!

    I'm also having this same problem. It was produced when using
    HP's solution center. The exact message:
    "Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9b.ocx failed
    to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel."
    I'm a home user...I don't have support personnel. :)
    Here is a sequence of events that may have led up to this
    error:
    I have been having problems with Flash not working properly
    since installing an HP all-in-one network printer (model c6280).
    Before today, I never saw a flash related error occur with the
    printer usage, but everytime I went to a website that required
    flash, it would ask me to install Flash again. This morning I
    finally got around to trying to fix that and ran Adobe's
    uninstall_flash_player.exe, rebooted, then reinstalled flash. The
    next time I ran HP's support center I got the above message.
