Twitter Widget

Can anyone save their credentials on the twitter widget? It used to save before the twitter widget was updated. Also, parental controls for the twitter widget seems to have become optional, contrary to the suggestion made in the widget that it is required. (IMG 1.8, altho i doubt it's an IMG issue)
edit: The instructions at http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/FiOSTV/Guide/Enhanced+TV/QuestionsOne/124901.htm no longer seem to apply as there is no "quick code" option in the new twitter widget. Signing out, and signing back in will save a username, but not a password, and the saved username will not survive a widget/STB restart

you have some code that isnt inside a function:
XMLLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, processXML)
try moving it to the constructor (and the load call too)

  • Twitter widget in Captivate 7 not working

I am using Captivate 7 to add the twitter widget to a course. I can publish it with no problem, however, it won't allow me to generate a pin. . When I click on the button "Generate PIN" it comes back with a message: "To disable twitter functionality, close window. To enable it, click Generate Pin". When I click it again nothing happens. When I click the red X to close the window, the course continues without the twitter widget.
I am not using preview. All files are published to a server.

Try autofixing the box ( Menu->CustomerSupport->InHomeAgent) . Also power cycle the router. If it's still giving you an issue after that let us know.

  • Support for New Twitter Widget in Web Content Overlays

I have been looking for several days now for a solution that will allow me to present a twitter feed within a DPS Article that does not require utilizing the inapp browser.  All of the solutions I have come across do not work.  I know Twitter has changed thier API's.  Is Adobe planning on doing somehting about this or are we letting the ability for twitter feeds to be embeded into a web overlay die?
Linking to the URL proves to be problemactic, the Web Overlay never resolves on the iPad and I am only presented with a perpetual loading pin wheel.  Using iFrames does not work either, and more often than not upon a preview ID freezes and I have to Force Quit to get out of the frozen program.  Pasteing the iFrame code directly on the layout appears to alomost work however that is only on the desktop and upon pasting the code onto the layout I presented with a dialoge saying there is some JS error.  On the iPad I am only presented with an empty frame.  I have even tried a sugestion to take the widget code and use the "Object > Insert HTML" option with no avail.  I have many clients that are very upset that this functionalioty has gone away or has become impossible to impliment.
    HELP!

I have already come across these "solutions".
I am on v27 and have been since its release.
I have tried method number one.  It partially works however it is buggy.  When the overlay initially loads, it flashes the Twitter URL before showing the feed in the overlay frame on the article.  Additionally, it sometimes flashes back and forth from the Twitter Feed's URL and displaying the feed itself.  This, for me is not a wholly valid solution but it will do for now since the only thing that remotely works. I suspect the URL flash has alot to do with the network connectivity of the device one is viewing the feed on.  However, to flash that URL before the feed loads makes the overlay appear buggy.
And the second method most definitely crashes ID ever single time I attempt to preview the overlay either on desktop or iPad.  And I have tried this method on several different machines, thinking it was my copy of ID.  It still crashes upon preview, so mehtod two is not a valid solution at all, unless there is something special that needs to be in the HTML file (besides the twitter widget) for it to not crash ID, that I am unaware of.
    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Firefox will not display twitter widget on my webpage

twitter widget won't work with firefox
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://www.h2home.biz

    > But I really don't want to allow all sites to use
    > their own fonts, just, in this case, Twitter.
Exactly. It's not a very good solution to be forced to give up control/accessibility on every Web site, to fix a problem with just a few popular ones like Twitter.
It seems like a pathetic accessibility fail on the part of Yahoo, Twitter, etc., but since the practice is likely to persist and spread, please, Firefox:
=> allow site-specific configuration of "allow pages to choose their fonts."

  • Twitter Widget Malfunction

I built a site with DW 5.5 about a year ago and in it was a Twitter Widget I uploaded via Abode Widget Exchange.  For the past year or so, it has worked just fine.  Last week, with no rhyme or reason, it stopped working.  I have deleted it and re-installed it, no luck.  I double check the configuration, everything is correct, does anyone have any idea's or suggestions?  Has anyone else had this kind of trouble before?
    Mike

Your "Version 1.2" is probably nothing to do with the Twitter API version, which is either v1 or v1.1.
When you download a new code make sure it says it's using the API 1.1, otherwise it will not work.
You can always use Twitter's official widget. https://dev.twitter.com/docs/embedded-timelines

  • Twitter widget only displays feed in edit mode?

    Hi all
I have just created one of the new twitter widgets and pasted the generated html into a script editor webpart.
whilst in edit mode the twitter feed displays perfectly and even updates in real time, however when I save the page the live feed vanishes and all I am left with is the link to the twitter feed page?
am I making a obvious mistake?
    thanks

    Hi,
Is there any difference between "Browse Mode" and "Edit Mode" if you inspect the style of it using IE Developer?
For example, if it is invisible in "Browse Mode", there might be an attribute "display:none" or "visibility:invisible" of this Twitter widget, then you can try to modify it to show the widget by adding a custom CSS style.
Or you can post a question to the corresponding forum of Twitter to see whether it is compatible in SharePoint.

  • What do I need to do to see twitter widgets?

When I create a twitter widget after logging into my twitter account, it doesn't preview when using Firefox. If I log on with other browsers it is there. Is there a setting in Firefox that is preventing me from seeing it?

There's a plugin called "do not track me". When active, the twitter timeline widgets won't show. You'll have to disable it if you're working on your design or css. or you can "allow twitter" in the plugin's options.

  • Help - twitter widget in my ipad magazine

    Hi,
How to I get my twitter widget code to work in an InDesign magazine (for ipad)?
I know you place website address in 'Overlay Creator' - 'Web Content' but the code from Twitter is not a website address - it's codding.
    Sorry I'm not very webby!
    Thanks

You need to copy/paste the code from that page into a valid HTML file. The code on its own won’t work.
Create a new blank HTML file in Dreamweaver and copy/paste the code between the opening and closing body tags.
IMPORTANT: Save the HTML file in its own folder.
Create your frame in the InDesign file, open the web content overlay pane and browse to that file. Choose autorun and allow user interaction.

  • Help! Cannot get Twitter Widget to Work!

    Hello,
I am running Adobe Captivate 6 on a Mac. i have MAMP installed and followed the Twitter Widget installation guide here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/captivate/cp/using/WSedb8e841cbc0b796-1c6e 5ece129f9bd28c5-8000.html
When I preview my project in captivate or in web browser the widget does not show, neither does it when I publish the project to my local "test" moodle.
The widget "icon" appears in the edit window.
I think utilizing this tool in an elearning environment is an awesome concept and have been wracking my brain to figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Josh

Having issues with making and receiving calls can cause a lot of frustration Jamesgirl. I'm sorry your network extender isnt working properly but no worries because we are here to help. How long have you had issues with this accessory? Whats your zipcode and phone types? I recommend power cycling the Network extender. Keep us posted.

  • Twitter Widget problems

I was trying to get the custom twitter widget to work in my publication and I saw post from May that it was an issue.  I could not find anything curtrent.  Is this still a problem as I can't get my custom twitter feed to work as I want it to?

Yes, it's still an issue. The workaround is to add the widget to a web page and link to that web page.

  • Twitter Widget not working on same page as Gallery Module

    Hi Guys,
Both Twitter widgets(Follow button and Twitter Feed) that were on my clients page have gone offline.
    http://www.harveyssf.com/Admin/Templates_Details_Preview.aspx?ID=2177410&A=Template&Device Type=3
This happens when the Gallery Module is present on the page:
    {module_photogallery,6887,3,,6,125,85,false}
As soon as I remove it, both the Twitter Feed and the Follow button start working:
    http://www.harveyssf.com/Admin/Templates_Details_Preview.aspx?ID=2177644&A=Template&Device Type=3
Do you guys have any tips on how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

    A little update:
I have contacted Twitter devs and they said:
http://www.harveyssf.com/ uses an old version of prototype.js which overrides Array.prototype.reduce with an ES5 incompatible implementation. See this thread
for more discussion on the topic.
I dont think I have anywhere Prototype.js anywhere on the page. But It might be a part of the gallery module or something.
    Can somebody look into it?

    Hi there
WOW! I downloaded and looked at your file. After opening, I simply attempted to preview. It seemed to lock up my PC for a  really long time as it processed the file. I left it alone and after the preview finally opened, I saw what you did. So I canceled. Then began to inspect the project.
    Overall size is 720x540. Respectable.
    79 slides. Within limits.
Hmmm, no objects on slides 1-11?
    Question slides for 12, 13, 14
Then I look at slide 1 and about fall over! The timeline shows that this slide is timed for 3,600 seconds! That's an hour!
I look further and see that ALL slides are timed for 3,600 seconds!
I have no clue how that happened, but you probably simply need to adjust the timing to something far more reasonable on each slide. Personally, I've never had a need to time a slide for longer than maybe, MAYBE ten seconds.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick
