Two Groups in Cross Tab

Hi Guru,
Have a problem and need your expertise. I already tried searching and cannot find a match solution in my problem.
I have two cross Tab groups. First group is the Month and the second group are the days of the month.
Month> |__________JANUARY 2013_____________|_________FEBRUARY 2013__________| <- Group 1
Days> |__1__|___2___|___3___|___4___|__..31_|__1__|__2__|__3___|__4__|__..28___| <- Group 2
Item 1 | 0 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Item 2 | 1 | 3 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 3 | 0 |
Item 3 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 0 |
May I know the technique for the for-each group for this.
Sorry for my bad English.
Regards,
Jim

Hi Robin,
I think you could achieve that using subreports; in each subreport, you would work on a specific set of data.
In the main report, you would just display the required data from each subrport.
I hope this helps,

  • Grouping in Cross Tab

I have a cross tab with a date in column 1. I have it grouped by week. This makes the date displayed as a Sunday date, since day 1 is Sunday. If I change the group option to last day, it displays a Saturday date. I would like to see this date as a Friday date.
Is there a formula I should use, or is this a CR option that I should change?
    Thanks for any input.

    Hi,
       Create a formula as
    DayOfWeek ({Orders.Order Date},crFriday)
Insert the group on this formula.
In group Options > Options > Select the option use a formula as the grooup name> insert the date field as totext(Datefield).

  • Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.3.2 - Grouping a cross tab in sections

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to make a BI Publisher template containing a cross tab and the cross tab is repeated for sections. This is how the structure of tables are
    Costs Dim (Cost_id, Costs_Section , Costs_Type)
    Trans_Dim (Trans_id, Trans_Ref, Trans_Narr)
    Costs_Fact ( Cost_Id , Trans_id , Amount)
The output needed is somewhat like this
    Costs_Section X
    Trans_Ref| Trans_Narr|| Cost Type A | Cost Type B
    Tref1 | Tnarr1 || Amt 1 | Amt 2 | Sum(Amt1, Amt2)
    Tref2 | Tnarr2 || Amt 3 | Amt 4 | Sum(Amt3, Amt4)
    Sum(A1, A3)| Sum(A2, A4)
    Costs_Section Y
The creation of the table is okay and that is done via the Cross tab wizard , but when i add the costs section , the output is garbled.
The dimensional columns disappears and the sum remains..
Any leads , help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Multiple Groups in Cross Tab Workbook

    I have one worksheet like
    -------------------------XXXX----------YYYY-------------ZZZZ
    ------------------------NO %----------NO %------------NO %
    A1--------------------1 1-------------- 4 4----------------5 5
    A2--------------------1 1---------------4 4----------------6 6
    A3--------------------1 1---------------4 4----------------6 6
Here XXXX, YYYY, ZZZZ values for one column
No and % are data columns
    A1,A2 and A3 is another column's values.
I have another column(gender) which I want to add like
    -------------------------XXXX----------YYYY-------------ZZZZ--------------MALE--------------FEMALE

Could you not just create a calculated column to cover both original columns and place the calculated column.
    Such as:
    calc1
case when col1 IS NULL then gender_column
    else col1
    end
assuming the gender column never has a value at the same time as the original column - which I assuming by your example - then just replace your col1 placement in the worksheet with calc1.
    Make sense?

  • Cross-tab with a lot of data causes fault in crpe32.dll when exporting to Excel

Hello.  I believe I found a bug in the Service Pack 9.  After upgrading my production to runtime 9, I found that cross-tab reports with large datasets crashed the website.  Per the Windows Application Log, a fault happened in the crpe32.dll.  So I uninstalled the runtimes for 9 and re-installed 8 and the reports worked again.  My production uses the 64 bit runtimes.
I created a test site which includes a two datasets one large and one small with two reports, one cross-tab and another non-cross-tab.  The site has four pages, one to open the cross-tab report using the large dataset, another with the same cross-tab report using the small dataset, another for the non-cross-tab report using the large dataset and the last with the non-cross-tab report using the small dataset.  Only the cross-tab report using the large dataset causes the fault.  I’ve attached the test site for you use as needed.

    Hi Thomas,
What version of Visual Studio are you using?
    What OS are you using?
    What version of IIS?
I did a quick test using a simplied one liner WEB app and I see the same thing...
FYI, changes we've done is IIS recommends, actually it's a must, to load the report and viewer in the Page_Init section and not the Page_Load so you initialize all of the required dependencies, Page Load doesn't handle it properly...
I tried both, doesn't make any difference...
By the way your "large dataset" is not that big. I've seen people use a 10 meg xml files.
Try moving all of your code to the Page_Init section and test again to confirm...
I don't believe it has anything to do with the amount data directly, I believe it's the number of pages to render for a crosstab report.
    I'll escalate this to DEV - ADAPT01726274
Set for SP 10 ( which means I set it to be fix in SP 10 but it does not mean it will be. All depends on DEV's work load )
    Thanks
    Don

  • Running Totals and Formulas with Cross Tabs

    Hi,
I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 and am having two issues using Cross Tabs.
The first is that I want to have two crosstabs. They both will have a common Y axis (Oppourtunity.Sales Rep), and on the Y Axis I want one to show all (Opportunity.Create Date) where (Opportunity.Staus = Won) and the other where (Opportunity.Staus = In Process), but I can't figure out how to contruct the formula to return this result.
The other issue, is that in addition to summarizing based on Sum (Opportunity.Expected Revenue), I would also like to create a running total to show the cumulative (Expected Revenue) Week over Week.
    Any direction would be fantastic.
    Thank you,
    Michael

Please go through the SAP Notes listed here which would help you how to create mannual running totals in crosstab

  • Cross tab template Formatting. Two Row Groups cannot be on the same line

    Hi
I have a cross tab template(Vetsriselvan favor) where it has Multiple Row groups. In the RTF template I want them to be on the same line but somehow it works only if they are one below the other. In this template Comp is the First Group Row then Acct is 2nd Group Row and Expense is the 3rd Group Row. Period is the Column. I want all the Group rows start from the same line instead one below the other. Is it possible to do it?
    Comp Acct Expense Period

  • Discover group problem with cross tab report

Hi, I'm working on a cross tab report in discoverer 4i and I'm having a problem with two of the colums. I'm doing a count on one field but because they are called something different they are being shown as two seperate columns rather than 1.
I have one called 101 -AVG and another called 101-AVG. My condition pulls every result back that starts with 101 in the table. So because in the table the values are different it breaks the count into totals for 101 -AVG and 101-AVG.
Is there some way I can group these results together into one field?
    thanks,

  • How to Display two different objects in a single table header in Cross Tab?

    i All,
I've a reqiurement for a Cross Tab Report like I need two different objects that should be displayed side-by-side, one object's values after another in a single header. In the picture below I've shown the objects separately in two rows, top header having BSNLNL,MTNLNL,RCOMNL and Header-2 having AIRTIL,RCOMIL. But requirements needs to be showing like this,
    BSNLNL
    MTNLNL
    RCOMNL
    AIRTIL
    RCOMIL
Actually, the data for the header comes from a single object called Operator. I've show the Operators name ending with NL and after that names ending with IL. So, i've separated the data into two variables using the below formulae.
    IL:
    =[Billing Operator]
    Where
    Match([Billing Operator];"*IL")=1
    NL:
    =[Billing Operator]
    Where
    Match([Billing Operator];"*NL")=1
Also, the NL data should start first and after the NL data's last value ends, the IL data should begin.
One more thing is that I've to show '0' for null values. So i've used the below formulae on the column data. You can see below that except the "Outgoing ILD Mins in the month from Mobile Network" everything else showing fine. I don't understand why.
    =If
      Substr([Franchise];3;1)="M"
      Then
       [Mobile Outgoing Charged Usage Minutes]
       Else
       0
I tried different approaches but couldn't find a solution. Could you please help me?
    I'm using BO WebI 4.1 SP1
    Regards,
    Naren Vema.

    Hi Naren,
No need to split Billing Operator object. Create a variable-
    V_IL_NL= If  Match([Billing Operator];"*IL")=1 Then "IL" ElseIf Match([Billing Operator];"*NL")=1 Then "NL"
    1) Put V_IL_NL variable below Billing Operator object header.
    2) Sort and create break on this variable.
    3) Delete Footer column. it will automatically create when you apply break.
    4) Hide V_IL_NL variable from this header.

  • Relative positioning of two cross tabs.

I have two cross tabs. The first one is dynamic as the number of columns change based on user prompts. The second cross tab is fixed one column which is attached as the last column to the first cross tab.
When the columns of first cross tabs change, the second cross tabs column doesnot move across to fit as a last column i.e., there is no relative positioning between the cross tabs..
How do we achieve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Adam

Right click on the section where the two crosstabs placed and go to section expert and check the option "Relative Positions"

  • Cross tab Date Column Grouping

    Hi,
I have a cross tab in my report which displays no of tickets opened grouped by day, week or Month, grouping is done based on a parameter GroupBy, which has Day, Week, Month values
    Incident   Jun -99  Jul-99
    Priority1      10          20
    Priority2      45          23
if user selects day or week, cross tab should display column in dd/mm/yy format, if its month, MMM-yy format.
I have created formula which returns a date type
    GroupBy = Day then Opendate
GroupBy = Week then opendate -dayofweek(opendate)+1
    GroupBy = date(year(opendate),month(opendate),1)
and used this date formula as column in cross tab. I tried to format using custom date style...but its not working in cross tab.
if I use totext to format the date formula, data will not be in sorted order...ex, its showing jul-99 before jun-99
    can anyone help?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Jyothi

You can avoid multiple cross tabs by using the Display String expression under Field Formatting.  The expression that is entered in this field is what is displayed as the field value in the report.  Use the same logic as you are using for calculating the value, except return CStr(CurrentFieldValue, <format>), where <format> is the formatting code for the desired date format based on GroupBy.

  • Display two different column types in cross tab

I am using Cross Tab template in crystal XI and I have to show two different column types one is of type int and other is of type string. Below is the format of the report
                                  AmountGiven             Amount Spent            Attended
    Mike                       5000                              3000                         Yes
    Steve                     200                                 200                           No
Is there a way I can do this showing "yes" or "no" in the third column???
    Thanks...

    Hi
If you are trying to show "yes" or "no" for a column value in a cross tab, then yes we can try using a formula for it.
I would suggest you 2 ways that you can try at your end:
    1.
    a) Create a formula in the cross tab expert and write your condition.
for eg: if Sum({Orders.Order amount}) > 5000 then "yes" else "no"
    b) Then select that formula in the summarized fields in cross tab expert and change the summary to MODE.
    c) You can see the "yes" and "no" Within the same box.
    2.
    a) Add a field to the colums in the cross tab expert.
    b) A column gets inserted in the cross tab.
    c) Right click the field and select format field.
    d) Go to Common tab and write a formula for the display string.
    e) Write the condition in that formula.
    f) You can see a new column with the expected values.
    Hope this helps you..
Please revert incase of any queries.
