Two level of Approvels, Supervisor & Vice-President

Hello,
I have a requirement to Approve two levels in Travel request form,they are one is Supervisor and Vice-president. I need to know how to extract both the approvels for the requester.
i am new to HR, can any once explain the Extraction process and get the both ID's .

Hi Anji,
The process of approval can be two levels as per your req. If workflow is in place we can have the two work items set up for this approval. But this hirearchy should be in place in the org structure. Accordingly the approvals will be worked out as per the standard workflows.

Ask your functional person that how do you determine supervisor and vice president
a) Employee group/subgroup
b) Organizational Maangement and relationship.
a) if empl group/subgroup then in table pa0001 for the given pernr get the latest entry with endda = 99991231 and check if its same as the supervisor or vice president
b) if OM then you will check hrp1001 table and find the position and relationship.
So i suggest first make it clear from functional and then go ahead.

Issue in ABAP- HR : How to get executive assistant of Vice President...

My requirement is: if employee is Vice President i need his/her executive assistant. I saw in HRP1001 table there is one relationship Z81(Custom type)... I am not finding correct logic to get executive assistant.
Anybody can suggest me how to get his/her position or personnel number(executive assisstant)

Issue solved by own. In SAP we dont have specific logic to find VP and above VP level. I confirmed with HR . SO i am writing logic in diff level.

Error when running a JHeadstart generated two-level tree display

Dear All,
I have a simple master detail VO/VO datamodel based on which I'd like to generate a two-level tree display. I've followed the JHeadstart dev guide meticulously.
When I run the page I get an error:
javax.faces.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Error getting property 'name' from bean of type oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUCtrlHierTypeBinding
It turns out that this generated code in a region file is the root cause:

When I substituted the <af:switcher> .... </af:switcher> xml code by <af:outputText value="#{node.Omschrijving}"/>, the page displayed correctly.
Given the fact that the code is generated, there doesn't seem to be much that I can do about it.
We're using JDeveloper version 10.1.3.3.0 and JHeadstart version 10.1.3.2.41.
Any help or suggestion would be much appreciated.

I cannot reproduce this. You are using a non-production build. Can you upgrade to JHeadstart 10.1.3.2.52?
If the problem persists, you can work around it by creating a custom template for tree.vm which includes the af:switcher statement.

Cash discount on Purchases at Two Levels

Hi Guru's
I have an issue on Cash discount on purchases. My client has a discount facility with the vendor at two levels:
1. On the base price (After this discount Excise Duty is calculated)
2. After Excise Duty but before VAT (Local Tax) calculation. ie. after this 2nd discount VAT is calculated.
I have created two discount condition types and assigned them in purchase pricing procedure. However, the system is taking bot the condition at Base Proce level and calculating.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to meet my client requirement.

Have you chosen the correct 'from' line?
It sounds like you referred to the base amount line instead of the subtotal line after excise duty... or is this line missing? Then you have to add it and change the 'from' field in the 2nd discount line.

Document Parking Workflow Responsible Agent for Two level release

Respected Members,
I have done all the configuration for document parking workflow.
i had said if the amount is greater than one lakh it should go two-level amount release.
My organisation hierarchy includes two positions,
SUB_HEAD with user xyz
HEAD with user ABC.
i have assigned the position HEAD with two level release workflow in spro.
When i am creating a parking document above one lakh, the work items are generating and it is coming
in the inbox for the both users ie xyz and abc.
MY requirement is that when xyz user execute the work item then only it should go to abc user inbox.
it should not go to abc inbox as soon as document is created.
Please give me the answer as soon as possible,

How to create two level dynamic list using JSP , Java Script and Oracle

I am new in JSP. And i am facing problem in creating two level dynamic list using JSP ,Java Script where the listdata will come from Oracle 10g express edition database. Is there any easy way in JSP that is available on in ASP.NET.

1) Learn JDBC API [http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/index.html].
2) Create DAO class which contains JDBC code and do all SQL queries and returns or takes ID's or DTO objects.
3) Learn Servlet API [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/].
4) Create Servlet class which calls the DAO class, gets the list of DTO's as result, puts it as a request attribute and forwards the request to a JSP page.
5) Learn JSP and JSTL [http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/]. Also learn HTML if you even don't know it.
6) Create JSP page which uses the JSTL c:forEach tag to access the list of DTO's and iterate over it and prints a HTML list out.
You don't need Javascript for this.

EA 4.2 Two Level TabsLeft and Right Sidebar not highlighting the parent tab

Theme 24 Two Level Tabs - Left and Right Sidebar page template is not highlighting the parent tab. I did some changes to the Current Parent tab section and it is working so can we see the changes in the EA2 or the final 4.2 product.

Two level of tabs - only 1 level shows up

Hi all,
I have an application, previously set up without using tabs, but I added two level of tabs. It looks like everything is fine, but only the standard tabs are on the pages, not the parents.
Invionment: Apex 4.1, Oracle 10gR2 on Windows 32 bit
This is what I've done:
- set the page component default in the theme (26) to 'Two level of tabs, no sidebar'
- I have a parent tab set ('PTS1')
- I have 4 parent tabs: PTAB1, PTAB2, PTAB3, PTAB4. All parent tabs have one or more tabs under it and the tab target is the right page.
- all the tabs have the 'standard tab set' set right, ie PTAB1. All tabs are in parent tab set 'PTS1'
- alle the pages have page template 'use theme default'. I also tried setting it explicitly to one of the templates with two level of tabs, but with the same result.
When I open a certain page, I only see the tabs, I don't see the parent tabs! Is there something I forgot to configure?

Ok first go to shared components > Tabs. Select your parent tab set.
Go to manage tabs. Does every parent tab got at least one subtab? Do they all refer to pages?
If that's ok go to edit standard tabs and check out the right column. Do all tabs there have a parent tab set? If they don't then edit those that don't have one.
If that did not solve it go to "Tabs".
Select your parent tab set PTS1. Check if all your parent tabs are viewable.
If they aren't then you created your parent tabs under different tab sets and you need to delete those that aren't on the right one.
I hope you can find a solution here somewhere.

ESS leave request two-level workflow

We have a requirement for a two-level ESS leave workflow and need to know what would be the approach which can be taken to modify the standard 12300111 workflow.
The status should be as follows

As we can see, we need to add a new status namely, PENDING to the backend PTREQ tables. Can anyone please provide some kind of leads/info on this.

You can take a copy of that standard workflow 12300111 and build your logic accordingly.and give that workflow number in SPRO settings.

Two level approval in workflows

Dear All,
I am making a workflow which trigger when the Maintenance Order get RELEASED, the functionality of the workflow is as follows :-
1. A recipient should get workflow in his/her SAP inbox for Approval or Rejection of maint. Order. release.
2. When he approves then the maint. Order should go to Second Recipient for firther Approval.
3. After the second approval the workflow Initiator get the main that his request has been approved.
4. At any point if the approver rejects his Request the application should get back to Workflow Initiator.
Now my first problem is that how can i make the logic for the two level approval.
What i have done is that i have taken one decision Step with the Outcomes
Approve
Reject
On the approve outcome i have added another Decision Step for second approval but htis is not working.
My Second Problem is how can i know that the request has been approved or not. Is there any status Field from where i can know that the request has been approved or not so that i can use condition step.
Please help as i m struck beacause of these two problems.

Up until this point I was very happy with your explanation, it was thorough, and included the functional need. However, it is quite important to know <u>how</u> 'it is not working'. Are you getting an error when you try to activate the workflow? Is the workflow going to ERROR status during runtime after the first approver has approved? Is there perhaps an error message? Someone might recognize that error message and say 'yes, I had this problem once, and here's how you fix it'.

Switch between one level and two level tabs

Hi,
In my application I'm having many pages manages with tabs.
Some tabs should have sub tabs other will have none.
For example Page 1:

Like you can see Page 1 hast no sub tabs and only the parent tab should be shown (normally this would be One Level Tab Template and for the others it's Two Level Tab Template).But I didn't get it working. I've tried to following:
Setting page 1 to one level and creating a parent tab set with all required labels will display OK. Creating page 2 with new parent tab set and tabs and two level template.
Will not show not page 1 parent tab when accessing directly. Access from page 1 will throw error message: "could not find item (123455) on page."
I don't like to have something like this for page 1, because there twice shown Home, for one page ...

Create a page template as a copy of your two level tabs template and simply remove
#TAB_CELLS#
Assign this page template to your page 1.

Two level Approval WorkFlow

Hi.
I have this problem:
Have two Approval WF which a re triggered deppending on the user type
The first WF is a one level approval WF, and work Very fine,
i'ts assigned to a group using an adaptor and when it's approved, the provisioning process is assigned to SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS and executed success.
The second WF is a two level (secuential) WF, also is assigned to a group using an adapter and when first level is approved, the Second level task is executed (also assigned to a group via adapter), but when the second level task is approved, the provisioning task is assigned to the same user which approved the second level and the provisioning process involves add/delete values from a lookup, then I receive an "ACCESS DENIED" error.
I've been thinking about adding a third level and assign it to XELSYSADM, but think that is not a pretty standard solution.
a way to draw the second WF is:
task 1 Response = Approved then execute Task 2
Am I missing something?
Should I use Task Dependency instead Executing the second task basen on the first Task Response ?

That's correct.
The first approval level appears to be finished by XELSYSADM even if its approved by another person (ie: User1)
The second approval level appears to be finished by "User1", but User1 can be one of aproximately 50 people, and do not want to give object write access to so many.
So opted for add a third level of approval and add a TCCompleteTask and assign it to XELSYSADM.
So XELSYSADM now executes all the Provisioning process .

Two level approval workflow not working

Hi Experts,
I am making a workflow which have two level approval , now the problem is that the first level approver is going only to workflow initiator and if I use any other ID it is not working , it just hangs there.
Secondly if I send the first approval to workflow Initiator and it approves it then it hangs with second decision step.
I have made the agent assignment as general task. I have also checked SWU3 and all the things in that are activated.
Kindly help me in this issue.
