Two X processes normal?

root 17689 0.0 2.5 37544 26196 tty7 SL+ 13:54 0:00 X
No matter if I start gnome/openbox/twm by startx/gdm I have two X working, I don't know where the second one is, ctrl+alt+f8 doesnt show anything. Is this normal, or have I done something wrong?

I did a bugreport as it seemed there was none... http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/9354
Please vote for it if you have the same problem, so it get fixed soon.
If you'd read the thread you'd have seen that someone told us he made a bugreport four posts above yours... In that report it is stated that the problem is with the closed source driver, so you should direct your complaints towards ATI/AMD.

  • I want to share a profile -- extensions, cookies, etc -- across two firefox processes

I want to share as much of a profile as possible across two separate processes.
    Why?
FF seems to accumulate increased CPU load over time; flash seems to affect this more than anything else. FF also seems to grow; again, flash makes this more common.
On Mac OS X, swap space isn't released until the process exits; by having my browser in two processes, I can release some and not have to close all my windows.
Specifically, I'm looking to have firefox processes organized by function: I want to have one FF for my blog and everything related to that blog (the blog page, the google docs pages where I'm editing; the wiki pages that I'm searching for background info, etc), and another for the various forums that I read (lots of text, lots of tabs), and a third for the web comics (lots of graphics, google reader, etc). This setup should allow me to restart the comics or the blog quickly; as my "work in progress" is saved, this doesn't hurt me. In contrast, restarting a bunch of tabs with forum postings will cause session restarts / changes in "new posts since last visit" / loss of posts in progress.
In addition, there are a number of extensions -- stylish and greasemonkey in particular -- where there is significant amount of per-profile state. This is probably the biggest killer -- simply using multiple normal profiles works, but seems to have duplicated overhead from multiple plugins being duplicated. But the whole problem with adjusting things in stylish or greasemoney, and wanting those changes to be global, is the big problem.

  • How can I put two beats of normal 16th notes and two beats of triplet 16th notes in the same measure?

    Hello!
How can I make a measure that has the first two beats as normal 16th notes, then the last two beats as triplet 16th notes? I'm putting the notes straight into the score. Oh, and I'm in 4/4 time.
    Exactly what I did:
    1. Score>Insert>16th note. Put in 8 notes (2 beats)
    2. Score>Insert>triplet 16th note.
This is when it changes the first two beats. I don't want it to do that.
Is it impossible to do this in the score?
Please don't give me an alternate software recommendation.

I don't have your GarageBand Version any longer, so I cannot check, but with GB'11 and Mac OS X 10.8 I get random results - sometimes it succeeds to  insert triplets in the second half of the measure, sometimes not.
What I do as a work-around, is to switch to Piano Roll after entering the notes and manually drag and adjust the timing for the triplets.
Or you could set the signature of your project to 2/4 while you are entering the notes. This will put the triplets and 16th-notes into different measures. Then switch back to 4/4 when you are done.
    Regards
    Léonie
P.S: I'd love to see a better solution to this ...
P.P.S: It will change to display "all triplets" while you edit and insert triplets, but it will switch back to the timing you originally inserted, once you deselect triplets again - this is very buggy - the "all triplets" should only happen, when you are previewing your score with "Snap to Grid" enabled.

  • Stock Transfer Order two step process

    Hi!
we are following stock transfer order in two step process along with WM
we are using movement types 641 & 101.
Now our client rerquiement is : when goods issue is posting in supply plant ( movement type 641), the accounting entry should be Goods in Transit A/C dr TO Stock Account Cr.
when goods receipt is posting in receiving plant the accounting entry should be : Stock Account a/c dr to Goods in Transit A/C, if there are price differences it will be posted to price difference accounts ( both have price control "S").
    how can we acheive this.
Now only at the time of 641 or 101 we posting the accounting document as: Stock A/C dr ( receiving plant) to Stock A/C Cr ( issuing plant) and price difference.
    regs,
    ramesh

we can a report in MB5T, but there you cannot find value of the stock, only quantity of stock, as in STO, there will not be any price, that is the problem.

and a sub Process 3 is common to above both Process.
    My problem is
When i was trying to create a Process 3 in BPM studio by default it
it is creating in Default Automatic ROLE. But in my above two Process are in Role 1 and Role 2
Please let me know In which Role i should design This common 3rd Process?
    Thanks

This Using procedure solution might be an Alternative, Bit How can a subflow activity can be used with sub process without role. Is it possible.
I have a common process which will be called in from two pther process so i want to keep this common process without any role please explain how to get this and best way to implement this.

  • Trying to understand problems that occur when redistributing between two OSPF processes

Hi all, I'm currently brushing up on my OSPF and trying to understand the problems that can occur when redistributing between two OSPF processes. I have read and understand (I think!) the issues caused by the fact that the same route submitted by two different OSPF processes may not necessarily follow the OSPF rules that one would expect - for example, OSPF preferring intra-area routes to inter-area routes to external routes, but only within the same process. So, if the same route is submitted from two different processes, that rule goes out the window.
But I'm having some difficulty getting my head around the idea of setting the administrative distance lower in one OSPF process to prefer one domain over the other. I just can't quite follow the example described in this document:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/open-shortest-path-first-ospf/4170-ospfprocesses.html#twored
Specifically, in figure 4 where two external networks - external network "N" originating in OSPF domain 1, and external network "M" originating in OSPF domain 2 - are redistributed via two ASBRs. The explanation states:
This sequence of events could occur occur:
Router A (Router B) redistributes M into Domain 1, and external M will reach Router B (Router A).
Because the administrative distance of Domain 1 is lower than Domain 2, Router A (Router B) will install M through Domain 1 and will set to maxage its previous originated LSA (event 1) into Domain 1.
Because M has been set to maxage in Domain 2, Router A (Router B) will install M though Domain 2 and, therefore, will redistribute M into Domain 2.
    Same as event 1.
I can't quite work my way through this. I guess it must have something to do with the redistribution of "M" from domain 2 into domain 1 being learned by both ASBRs due to the lower administrative distance assigned to external routes in domain 1, and the original routes through domain 2 being deleted, but then I can't follow the rest of the description. And I can't understand why this would be a problem for network "M" in OSPF domain 2, but NOT for network "N" in OSPF domain 1.
    Any explanation gratefully received!
    Thanks, Graham

    Hello.
You are right - whenever A and B learns about "M" from Domain 2, they craft LSA for domain 1 and inject it simultaneously. They learn each other's LSAs simultaneously and withdraw (set timer to 3600) for previous LSAs. And it might flap infinitely.
If they don't learn LSA simultaneously (let's say that A is much faster then B), then there will be no flaps, but B would learn all Domain 2 routes (not just redistributed) via Domain 1.
And later you will observe routing loop (when you stop advertising M from D): A knows "M" from Domain 2 and injects into Domain 1, B knows from A via Domain 1 and injects into Domain 2... so "M" stays in the routing tables due to mutual redistribution.
You don't have similar (flap) issue with network "N", because admin distance is lower for Domain 1, so both routers would never prefer OSPF via Domain 2! But having no issue with route flaps, you still will observe routing loop if you stop advertising "N" from C.

  • Two step process of creating G/l

    Hi,
Please advise what is two step process of creating a g/l. i know creating it through fs00. but there is another way of creating ti thru company code and chart of accounts. CAn anybody help me?

    Hi
FS00 is to create GL account Centrally. Using this transaction you will be able to create the account in 1 step.
The 2 step approach is to use transaction FSP0 to create at chart of account level. Then use transaction FSS0 to create at company code level.

  • How to control two different processes with one DAQ output board

Hi! I posted this in the Signal Generators forum, but I'm reposting here in case someone on this board has suggestions for a way to get around my problem programmatically (ie. within LabVIEW). Thank you for any help you can provide.
    Patrick
I have a PXI-6722 8-channel, 13-bit analog output board, and with this I want to independently control both the temperature (thermometer excitation/heater control) and magnetic field in my experiment. Unfortunately, it appears that I cannot do both simultaneously, which is totally unacceptable for my application.
Currently I'm using separate VI's for field and temperature control. This is the start of the problem, because in DAQmx you can't have 2 output tasks on the same card at the same time. In order to remedy this situation, I used MAX to create a global task containing all 8 13-bit analog outputs. However, it now appears that each time I do a write operation on this task (from whichever VI) I must write to all of the task channels, rather than just the channels I want to change. This would be fine for the temperature controls as they are of the type "set an output voltage value and hold it until told differently," so I could re-write the currently held values for channels that are not being changed. Magnetic field control will not work in this way, because we need to do very smooth field sweeps which require an analog waveform to be sent and sampled at a high rate (so that the steps are as small as possible). So if, for example, a thermometer's excitation voltage or a heater's power need to be changed during a field sweep (as is often necessary to maintain a constant temperature, via PID), then the sweep will be disrupted, potentially causing a dangerous magnet quench.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make this work? It seems very wasteful to buy a second output board when I still have lots of free channels on the first.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

I'd probably create a third process that just updates all output values on the card whenever necessary.
One way is to send messages via queues from the temperature and magnetic field control routines to the third process. The third process doesn't do anything unless it gets a message from one of the two other processes. The message should contain the channel task ID to change along with the new value. Use the LabVIEW queue VI's, using a type definition to specify the message type either when you create the queue or use the variant VI's. Once it gets a message, it updates the changed channels, not modifying the others (use a shift register to store an array with the current set of output values).
    Hope this helps.

  • Same rule set for two apply processes

    Hi!
Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to use the same rule set and all rules in it for two apply processes? It would be easy for me to use such configuration, because sometimes I create LCRs myself, sometimes Oracle captures them. They're exactly the same.
And second question - I tried the above configuration, but the apply process for user created LCRs aborts when it sees first message. Error is: "ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [knlcfpactx:any_knlso], [], [], [], [], [], [], []". Oracle MetaLink and Google know nothing about this error. I also don't know if it's somehow connected with these rule sets or is it a problem within my procedure which creates LCRs.
    Greetings

I'm answering myself. Yes, it is possible, to use the same rule set for different processes. It is said in the documentation. It is also possible to use one rule in several rule sets according to documentation.
And it seems that it has nothing to do with my ORA-00600 error.

  • How to make a two-way process to one-way process?

    Hi,
How to make a two-way process to one-way process?
    My requirement is:
    1. I have developed an asynchronous BPEL process, and I am calling a PL/SQL procedure using a DB adapter.
    2. The property "syncMaxWaitTime"=120 seconds in domain.xml.
    3. The partner lnk is one-way operation and it takes more than 120 secons.
    4. So my process throws TimeOut error and the transaction will be rolled back.
    5. If the transaction is rolled back then the instance will not appear in the console.
    6. The wired thing is the call to DB is actually doing the complete task successfully even it takes more than 120 sec.
    7. Is there a way where I can handle this Timeout exception and bring the transaction to complete normailly?
What I am expecting a solution like [http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01//integrate.1013/b28981/events.htm].
I tried this example, but in my process I am not getting onResult operation as my process is one-way process? Is there a way where I can make this a two-way operation, after taht I will try to use the Pick activity as shown in the above example.
    --Khaleel

    Hi Khaleel,
    Please refer 122.DBAdapter/advanced/endToEnd/DirectSQLPerformance/README.txt in bpel/samples/tutorials.
See the "A-Sync to Synchronous " section to convert the asynchronous process initiated by DB adapter to a Synchronous process.
In your case the problem can be solved by creating a synchronous BPEL process and invoke the asynchronous process initiated by DB adapter in it. You can add the pick activity in the synchronous BPEL process to monitor the timeout.

  • Two sendmail processes, why?

    Dear all,
after allowing remote sendmail connections by setting the value of the local_only to 'false' ie
    #svccfg -s sendmail setprop config/local_only=false
    #svcadm refresh sendmail
we have TWO sendmail processes called 'sendmail -Ac -q15m' and 'sendmail -bd -q15m'.
For what reason I mean which mailer config file (sendmail.cf, submit.cf, local.cf) is used for
sending mail out of this box?
    THX for any hint!
    Rainer

Because the RFC's call for it and sendmail follows the RFC's. One is for message routing (sendmail -bd -q15m) which used to perform message routing and message insertion and uses sendmail.cf. The other one is for message insertion and uses submit.cf.

  • Two route-processes for same vrf on a PE

    Hi
Is it possible to have two route processes, for example eigrp and ospf, for the same vrf on a PE router.
The situation would be, two customer sites on one PE, one site is running EIGRP and the other one OSPF
    Thanks for your replies
    michael

You should be able to use any combination of supported IGP (ospf, eigrp, rip, static) or BGP between the different the PE and the different CEs belonging to the same VRF.
    Hope this helps,

  • TRIGGERING IDOCs IN TWO STEP PROCESSING POSDM ?

    Hello Experts,
Could you please explain me why the two step processing is used in POSDM? Is it due to better performace?
And also how the IMG configuration is handled? Once the aggregate tasks are processed how do we TRIGGER THE IDOCS?
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi,
You trigger the IDoc creation via transaction /POSDW/ODIS.
The reason for the 2 step processing a quite a lot. One example is performance. In a 2 step scenario you can trickle tha data during the day and add them to an aggregate as they come into POS DM. At the end of the day you only need to trigger the second step which is simply moving the data fromt the aggregate to an interface.
Furthermore it is much easier to trace the data flow as you can see what line items went into which aggregate and which aggregate has been pushed into which idoc.
