Types of Mathematical Relationships

Can anyone think of any more logical relationships for this chart?
The various ways two variables, x and y can be related to each other:
     Linear Function: E.g. y = 2x  4
     Quadratic Function: E.g. y = x2 + x + 6
     General Polynomial Function: E.g. y = anxn + an-1xn-1 +  - a2x2 + a1x + a0
     Arithmetic Function (uses multiplication, division, addition, subtraction and exponentiation): E.g. y = (2x  4) / (4x2 + 1)
     Transcendental Function (cant be expressed arithmetically): E.g. y = log x
     General Function (y can be derived from x): y = f(x)
     Parameterized equations (y and x can both be derived from t): E.g. x = sin t, y = cos t
     Any relationship: y is related to x in some way.

Hey now, I didn't say it was easy. Actually, I think its fairly difficult just to
represent a number... Church numerals or something like that, I forget the rest.If you want a nice read, try to find the old book 'On Numbers and Games' by
John Conway (the guy who invented 'life'). The first part of the book defines
numbers and their algebra in a very fundamental and fascinating way, while
the second part of the book shows that games and numbers are all alike.

  • Activity Type and Cost Relationship Configuration

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    In ERP, the recipe of Material  GN2425A1H, the activity is ZDL - Labour.  When the activity time is increased, the material cost does not change, e.g., if labour hour is changed from 1.52HR to 3.4HR, the cost remains unchanged.  In case of other materials, if the time of activity ZDL is changed, then the material cost changes accordingly.
    Please help me understand the configuration that needs to be checked for activity labour hours with cost associated.
    Thanks.

    Dear Samir,
    I am not sure if such a relation ship exists between Material and Labor.
    Normally, the costs are charged independently based on the valuation variant used for the Actual costs in the Process Order (defaulted from order type) ex:Material costs are picked as per the valuation indicator (V/S) from the Material Master when the goods issue is posted to the Process Order.
    Labor costs are picked when confirmations are done from the Transaction KP26 (planned prices for activitites) as per the valuation variant.
    Kind Regards

  • E-Recruiting - Attachment Types and Object Relationships

    Can someone help me to understand why SAP recommends attachment types to be linked to the Application object and not to the Candidacy object?  I've always created attachment types specific to certain candidacy activities to that object as appropriate.  Is there a technical implication that I am not aware of?  If so, please advise.  Thank you for your help.

    Hi Roman and experts
    We have an issue where we have created 2 attachments:
    Attachment type 10 PDR
    Attachment type 17 Mamual Application Form
    both of subtype text "Resume" which we have attached to object type NA Candidate.
    What is happening is that once a candidate has attached these to his/her application then they automatically are attached to any past and future applications as well. I assume if we had assigned them to object type ND Application instead then they would be unique to  the application ie: not attach to all applications?
    Also can an attachment type only be assigned to object type NA or object type ND eg: could 10 PDR be assigned to both candidate and application?
    Many thanks

  • "relationship types and lag" on activity network

    Hi,
    on activity network diagram , how can I indicate the relationship types and lag time on relationship lines ?
    and instead of indicating each relationship line , how it could be drafted in groupped and branchs ?
    thanks ,
    h.e.

    without being nostalgic, since I'm not a huge fan of PERT anyway, the P3 feel and look of the PERT view that you are looking for in P6... is just not there anymore.
    no more direct/shared/branched display options for relationships. if it's a huge PERT printout you are interested in maybe (just maybe) it is worth manually positioning activity boxes to better display relationships. quite time consuming and even if you can save the positions in a file it still needs manual adjusting to accomodate changes. reorganising automatically doesn't always help (or rather creates the same mess in P6 as it did in P3 :)
    no more labelling relationship lines. although you should get the type from the relationship line itself, they are not always easy to trace (which pretty much defeats the purpose of a PERT chart). also, no way to display relationship lag/lead time.
    as I said, I do not use PERT much. I don't find it very practical in terms of overall look on fairly small screens/ print formats for most real-life projects.
    sure, it looks great for really straightforward logic (?), low complexity projects (?) or very detailed WBS analysed one at a time. but then, whats's the point..
    I suggest you try Table + Gantt + Trace logic instead. the combination of network logic and schedule info sharing the screen much more efficiently is a better compromise for a working layout, if you ask me.
    best of luck,

  • Relationship & Object Types

    Hi Gurus,
    Can you please explain is the relationship between the Objects types?
    Relationship and their characteristics?
    Warm Regards,
    Zulfikarlos

    Object Types are used to represent organizational entities as they exist in the real world. The examples of these entities are- Various functional units and divisions, Departments, Various type of Jobs that are carried out in these departments, human resources that occupy these jobs, specific places where these jobs are carried out. To represent these real world entities in the SAP HR system, SAP standard delivers almost 100+ object types, for example-JOB-'C', Position-'S', Person-'P', Organizational Unit-'O', Work Center-'A', Tasks-'T' and so on. You can create custom object types of your own in case you feel that the standard offering does not include the one that you need. There are certain object types given that establish a relation to non SAP HR entities on a need basis. Example- Payroll costs of the employee should reflect in FI module.
    SAP uses relationships-3 character codes-to establish an association between the Object Types. These relationships are stored in Infotype '1001'. Example-To define a person as a manager of a functional unit or a department, the relation '012' (manages/is managed by) between the object types-Position(S) and Organizational Unit(O). Here, the person holds the Position and the Position belongs to the Organizational Unit.
    OM objects can be either internal or external. Any object that is used and created within OM is called an internal object, for example-Job 'C'. An object that is created outside OM but used within OM is called an external object, For example-Cost Center 'K'. Cost center is created in FI and used in OM. There are few things to note-
    For the Cost Center no inverse relationship record gets created. Normally for an OM object relationships are bi-directional, for example-003 (belongs to/incorporates). When you specifically create either one of these, the other gets created automatically. For cost center this isn't the case. The reason is that the key structure of the cost center is not the same as that of OM objects. Take a look at the length of a Cost Center code-the length is 10 characters. Whereas the length of OM objects is 8 characters (OBJID).
    Object Type 'P' gets created in PA(Personnel Administration) and hence treated as an external object type. Since unlike the Cost Center it has a length of 8(PERNR_D) it can have the inverse relationship created.

  • Follow-up posting flow type Credit for 870 does not exist

    Hi SAP,
    I am having a problem when try to recalculate cash flow in FO38. System popup error Message no. 62179 (Follow-up posting flow type Credit for 870 does not exist). The error details is like this:
    Diagnosis
    You have changed the data in such a way that follow-up postings have resulted.
    No follow-up posting flow type has been defined for Credit for the flow type 870. A proposed flow type for flow type 3NCH has not been defined either.
    System Response
    Processing cannot be continued without the flow type.
    Procedure
    Contact your system administrator.
    Procedure for the system administrator
    Check and correct the settings for the reference flow type for follow-up postings in Customizing as required.
    Is there any setting in configuration Txn SPRO should i do? Will give points for those who help me out this problem.
    TQ
    Regards,
    Nazrul

    Hi Nazrul,
    yes, there are reference flow types missing for follow-up postings. Follow-up postings are created if condition amounts have been changed and that affects already posted items in the cash flow. In this case follow-up postings are generated. For the follow-up postings the system uses special flow types that have to be maintained in customizing.
    SPRO - Real Estate - Conditions, Flow Types, Account Determination - Maintain Flow Types - Assign Reference Flow Types
    Relevant relationship keys are:
    2     IS-RE: Follow-up postings due to condition incr.
    32     IS-RE: Follow-up posting due to condition reduct.
    You have to assign reference flow types for these relationship keys.
    This should help.

  • How to model parent child relationship with DPL? @Transient?

    Hello All,
    I want to model a parent entity object with a collection of child entities:
    @Entity
    public class Parent{
    @PrimaryKey
    String uuid;
    List<Child> children;
    @Entity
    public class Child{
    @PrimaryKey
    String id;
    I know that the DPL won't support automatic persistence where it'll recursively go through my parent bean and persist my children with one call. Is there a way of applying the equivalent to JPA's @Transient annotation on "children" so I can persist the children manually and have the engine ignore the collection?
    If not and I want to return to the user a Parent with a List named "children," do I have to create a new object which is identical to Parent, but doesn't have the BDB annotations and manually assemble everything? If possible, I'd like to avoid defining redundant objects.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Steven,
    The definition of persistence is here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/java/com/sleepycat/persist/model/Entity.html
    And includes this: "All non-transient instance fields of an entity class, as well as its superclasses and subclasses, are persistent. static and transient fields are not persistent."
    So you can use the Java transient keyword. If that isn't practical because you're using transient in a different way for Java serialization, see the JE @NotPersistent annotation.
    In general a parent-child relationship between entities is implemented almost as you've described, but with a parentId secondary key in the Child to index all children by their parent. This enables a fast lookup of children by their parent ID.
    I suggest looking at this javadoc:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/java/com/sleepycat/persist/SecondaryIndex.html
    as it describes all types of entity relationships and the trade-offs involved. The department-employee relationship in these examples is a parent-child relationship.

  • Upload of Relationships in OM

    Hi,
    I have uploaded the objects using LSMW using tcode PP02.It worked successfully.Now i want to maintain relationship between objects.Can anyone pls let me know how to proceed forward with this.
    When i am trying to maintaining relation using the same tcode PP02,it is always showing only one relationship that is A088 and B088.I cant see any other relationship here.
    Should relationships be maintained with any other tcode.Pls guide.
    Thanks
    Pushyami

    It depends on which object you have selected. For the object you selected maybe there is only relationship defined. If there are different types of objects, then make sure that the object type and the relationship ID are part of the source structure in the LSMW. Hope this helps.

    Hello Evandro,
    I am listing the steps to create a relationship manually.
    1. Create 2 records in the relationship table in console, one for "Married to" and the other one for "Owner". In order to do that the repository needs to be unloaded.
    2. Once you create these 2 records in the table through console, load the repository.
    3. Log on to the Data Manager.
    4. Now as per your example, there are 3 records in the main table, namely
         JOHN
         MARY
         ACME
    5. Select only one record in the record list area e.g. JOHN (where you see the list of records)
    6. Then, in the record edit area, double click on the relationship tab,
    7. New Window opens up.
    8. HERE ALL THE OPTIONS ARE GRAYED OUT. But Select the relationship which you want to create, in our case married to.
    9. Now select the record MARY in the record list area. (NOT in the pop window, but main window).
    10. Then on the top bar menu, select Relationships --> Adds to Group.
    11. Now close the Pop window and observe that the relationship has been created between JOHN and MARY.
    Let me know if it worked for you. if not, post some more information about your problem such as where you tried to configure and what options were grayed out.
    Please update.

  • Importing relationship data

    Hello,
      Any one could explain me steps for importing relationship data,  pre-requisites, source file structure.
      I am very much confused about field mapping. It always give me error Failed to find the aggregation record from its field values.
    Any one having document related to this plz send at
    abhijeet.more_at_yahoo.co.in

    Hi Mircea,
    It worked fine for me when i import Relationship Data of Type Parent/Child  either using Data Manager or using Import Manager.
    But the Problem is that if i create relationship of Type Sibling say relationship name "Related_Item" then during Import using Import Manager this "Related_Item" relationship is not enabled when i select into Destination Table. So how to enable this as it is enabled for Parent/Child relationship during Import Manager.
    So, i m able to import relationships of Type Parent/Child when created into relationship table of MDM Console. But Relationship of Type Sibling Created in MDM console is not imported using MDM Import Manager but sucessfully exported and imported Relationship of  Type Sibling using MDM Data Manager.
    So, Could you please check and tell how to import this Relationship of Type Sibling when created into Relationship table of MDM Console using MDM Import Manager.
    Thanks,

  • Restricting Message type to 1 receiver-ALE

    Dear All
    We are using ALE scenario  where we ALE idocs from Finance box to HCM box. I am using searlization method for message type and generating idocs from change pointers using program RBDSE01.
    One of the message type (CREMAS) is being used in more than one distribution model. The issue is when idocs are generated from change pointers, multiple communication idocs are generated as message type is maintained in more than one distribution model. Is it possible to restrict idocs generated fro change pointers to one receiver?
    I have defined distribution model and have added message type SERDAT for searlization. Further filter object(searlization group) is added to this message type. program RBDSE01 is run for this searlization group.
    Can someone please help?
    Thanks
    Sanjeev

    Hi Sanjeev,
    I can only give you hints as I do not recall the whole procedure exactly
    In the easy acces menu go to Tools -> ALE -> IDoc
    1. IDoc Type Development -> Logical Messages
    2. IDoc Type Development -> IDoc Type for Message
    3. Relationships -> Define Link Object Type for Message Type
    4. Relationships -> Assign Link Object Type to IDoc Field
    5. Relationships -> Assign Business Object to Message Type
    6. Engineering Change Management -> Define Change-Relevant Fields
    7. Engineering Change Management -> Define Function Module for Evaluation
    In all these steps copy the customizing of the original message to your zmessage.
    Go to transaction sale:
    Modelling and Implementing Business Processes -> Master Data Distribution -> Replication of Modified Data
    8. Activate Change Pointers for Message Types (here you need to add your z message)
    9. Switch Change Pointer Storage
    After that you should be able to run your first test.
    Please let me know whether it worked or whether I missed something.
    Best of Luck

  • Capture change of relationship in HRP1001

    How can I capture the change of relationship in HRP1001?
    For example, the relationship of Position and Org Unit change from A003 to A012.
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Irene, (Sam Lai Min?)
    You can use table T779X.
    I think this table is usually used for workflow, but you can insert your own function module there.
    Example of record you can create in the table:
    E     Business event     1001     Relationships     A025     Is attended by     DEL     CRBP     0     PDRELA_025                                          Y_XXX_EVENT_RULES
    This record means if there was a deletion to a record object type 'E' with relationship A025, it will run function module Y_XXX_EVENT_RULES.
    Check out the example FMs in that table for the import parameters, there is a before and after image parameter that you can use.
    You'd probably use something like UPD instead of DEL.
    Note that I read somewhere, if the primary key of a record is changed, it might be processed as a DEL followed by an INS.

    Kevin

  • Organization Model : Adding new  relationships

    Hi friends,
    <b> Organization Model : Adding new  relationships to the existing list while assigning agents to a position </b>
    Using transaction PPOMW, after creating an organization unit we assign a position to it.
    When we right click the Position and select assign from the context menu, a dialog box appears where we have to choose relationships.
    Can we create and add new relationships to this list. say for e.g. Position: holder Site
    Please help.
    Jon

    Jon,
    This is definitely possible. I had a similar reqt where a new relationship Position: Holder Location was required.
    Here's how to go about it.
    1. We have to maintain the required entry in the table T77AR
    This can be done through Transaction Code: SM30 or OOVK
    Enter the table name T77AR and click Maintain button
    2. Select Relationship 008: Holder from the table
    Double Click on Relationship Characteristics from the frame on the Left Hand side. Here two entries are maintained.
    The details of each of the above columns are given below.
    A/B: Contains a code that represents a particular type of a relationship. there are two types, active(A) and passive(B) (reciprocal).
    The two types exist since most relationships have two corresponding sides, or perspectives. For example, consider the relationship between a father and son. There is only one relationship, but there are two distinct perspectives to that relationship.
    NOTE: Active and passive should not be assumed to mean superior and subordinate. Sometimes one side of a relationship does have a superior standing. However, it is also possible that both sides of a relationship have equal, and corresponding, standing. It is also possible that some relationships will be one-sided. This occurs when, for example, you create relationships with external objects.
    Relationship: Contains a code that represents the relationship between two objects.
    100% Check: You can specify in this field whether the 100% limit should be checked when percentages are entered for weighted relationships (infotype 1001).
    The value entered in this field will determine the type of message that is issued if the 100% limit is exceeded when a relationship is created.
    You can choose between the following values:
    'E' = error
    'I' = information
    'W' = warning
    ' ' = no check is carried out
    Check Work Schedule: You can use this field to control how the system is to treat relationships to persons in connection with the infotype "Work Schedule" (1011).
    Check obsolete: This field controls the system reaction when relationships are entered or changed in connection with the infotype "Obsolete - 1014".
    3. Now double click on the Allowed Relationships button from the frame on the left hand side.
    Here we maintain a new entry ‘Site’.
    Object: S
    Object type text: Position
    A/B: A
    Rel: 008
    Relationship Name: Holder
    RelObjType: F (Site)
    4. This entry now appears in the dialog box
    <b> R&D is the name of the game </b>

  • Allowing relationships to appear in screens

    I am implementing SAP LS 200. In the master data catalog screen (txn LSO_PVCT), I would like to create a new course type with a relationship to an appraisal template. However, from the Create Course Type Relationships screen, there is no field for the relationship A 608 Has Appraisal Template. However, I can go to transaction PP01 and add an Appraisal Template (Object ID: VA) to a Course Type. I am not sure why it does not appear on the Create Course Type screen. I have also gone to transaction OOVK to see allowed relationships for A 608. Currently I have A 608 allowed for Course Types (Object ID: D). I have asked system security to verify that I have authorization to create A 608 relationship; and I do have that security.

    Dear Warren,
    Please see my explanation:
    I investigated and found out, that in our system as well the table T77AW
    (evaluation paths) command the Master Data Catalogue actions.
    If you open the table you can position on the "LSOCATAL" evaluation
    path. Here you can maintain this decision tree manually.
    I've done the following entry in this table for my LSO600.
    No. Obj.Type  A/B  Relation  Relat.name           Priority  Rel.Obj.Type
    150    D       A    608      Has appraisal temp.     *           *
    After this you go to the  table T77OF and I added only one entry "P" for the object 'VA' .
    You have to add (if you want) the other entries for the other objects
    like 'O', 'C', 'S'. In case these entries are being  missed in this
    table, the relationships will not appear in the popup even though the
    new entriy have been added in the T77AW.
    I think the same correction was already delivered for the customers via an SP by SAP.
    I hope this helps you
    If the problem is solved, please close the message with rewarding points.
    Best regards,
    Zsolt

  • Circular Parent-Child relationship among widgets.

    I am trying to draw a Bar Graph on a panel which in turn sits on the main
    window. The height policy of the panel widget is set to SP_TO_PARENT so that
    when the window is resized the panel is also resized according to the parent
    window. I have a situation that every time the panel is resized I need to
    scale the Bar Graph in accordance with the new panel size and draw it. But
    before drawing the newly scaled Bar Graph I am clearing out all the children
    of the panel ( I am doing this just to refresh the panel) and then drawing
    the newly scaled Bar Graph. But this does not work!!! I still find some
    left over from the previous Bar Graph!!! Any help in this matter is greatly
    appreciated.
    Also I don't understand this circular parent-child relationship. If I assign
    a NIL to Parent attribute of all the children of the panel, what will happen
    to the Children attribute of the panel? Won't there be any memory leak by
    adopting the above procedure of disconnecting a child from its parent? If
    so, how do we take care of it?
    Thanks in advance!
    Alaiah Chandrashekar
    The following is the segment of the code which could be useful for clarity:
    // Draws the Bar Graph for the first time.
    self.ShowChart(TestData);
    self.Open();
    event loop
    when task.Shutdown do
    exit;
    // When the window is resized
    // I am scaling the Bar Graph for the new
    // panel size.
    when self.window.AfterReSize do
    self.ClearChartPanel();
    // self.window.UpdateDisplay();
    self.ShowChart(TestData);
    end event;
    self.Close();
    Method ClearChartPanel is as follows:
    for child in self.<ChartPanel>.Children do
    child.Parent = NIL;
    end for;

    I need to do a relationship among the BP where each record in Main Table correspond a BP (Person or Organization).
    The relationship should link the BPs as shown below:
    Records
    1; John
    2; Mary
    3; ACME
    In record 1, I need to say that John is married with Mary, where Married is a type of the relationship and that Mary is Owner of the ACME, where u201COwneru201D is other relationship type.
    I have tried to configure a Relationship (where the parent and child tables were the Main Table) in MDM, but I couldnu2019t to do it because the screen for this feature was locked. I need to be certified that the child link exist in the repository.
    Thank you.
